this needs to be addressed, and soon. else this can be regarded as a scam. people buy the episodes for gems (i.e. real money) and arenanet sells them, KNOWING they are bugged and that the achievements cannot be completed, yet the do not even acknowledge it.

Very frustrating, indeed. Still trying to get it working. I am stuck in Meeting the Asura Challenge Mote. It won’t appear.

yeah its great that the mods merged the mote discussions and all, but the only one broken is “meeting the asura”. please fix

I am currently experiencing this bug (missing challenge mote)

Not sure if these are the steps to repro, but here’s what happened (lengthy, but hopefully this helps in figuring out what’s wrong)

Been away from the game for a while. Jumped back into the game and I only had the Point of No Return episode. So I completed that chapter on my mesmer, and bought the rest of the chapters via gems. (Kinda forgot if I completed the last chapters first or bought the rest of the chapters first)

And then, still on my mesmer, I proceeded to complete all the chapters sequentially. After that, I started completing the achievements for each chapter starting from Echoes of the Past (Ep 5) through Point of No Return (Ep, and loop back to Gates of Maguuma (Ep 1)

Then I switched to my necro, and completed Ep 5 – Ep 8, Ep 2. I also started Ep 1 and 3 (but NOT Ep 4).
Switched to my engie and completed Ep 6 – Ep 8

After a while, I switched back to my Mesmer, and I saw in my Hero’s Living Story panel that chapters 5 and 7 are showing the “This is your most recently activated episode” icons. I also noticed that my mesmer is experiencing the “unable to talk to Ogden” bug as reported in here: https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/bugs/Hidden-Arcana-quest-wont-advance/first#post4577418

Then I continued getting story achievements for Ch 2, Ch 3, and Ch 4 on my mesmer, which is when I encountered the issue that I’m reporting (missing challenge mote). Mind you, at this point my Necro still hasn’t done Ch 4.

On my mesmer I tried: logging out and back in to restart the instance, running out of the instance area and recreating it. I even tried guesting to another server. Still, no mote.

Then I completed Ch 4 on my necro in hopes that the mote will appear… but alas, no mote.

I’m going to try completing Ch 4 on my engie and see if she gets the mote to appear.

This is pretty much the only living story achievement that I’m missing… so I’m hoping this will get fixed soon.

Edit: adding detail that all of the above were in solo conditions. The eligibility buff was there for both the mesmer and the necro.

Just checked the instance again and the challenge mote still did not spawn. If I need to provide any extra feedback or screenshots to help get this fixed sooner please let me know and I will do what I can.

It is currently not spawning for myself or my girlfriend. We both just returned to the game and purchased all of the living story chapters. This is the last instance we need to get the meta achievement for bioluminescence. Please look into this bug so we don’t feel like returning the game was a mistake and also so we don’t feel like spending the money on the gems was a mistake.

We’ll continue checking to see if there is any update on this and will continue to report in.

Not working for me either or anyone i know off in my friends list. This needs to be fixed asap or i am going to demand a refund and more.

Bump, getting really tired of this problem. I can’t help but think that this is being completely neglected by Arena Net in spite of the lack of responses.

I am having this issue as well it really needs to be looked into asap it’s all I have left on this story and I will be very upset if I can’t do it

Getting this issue on “The World Summit” challenge mote just isn’t there even after dozens of instances.

Meeting the Asura bug is the only thing keeping me from getting the full set.

Please fix.

I haven’t met one person that can actually get the mote to spawn.

It seems to only be the Challenge Mote in “Meeting the Asura” that’s missing after the last few updates, but in contrast to the earlier issues regarding Challenge Motes in general, this one doesn’t appear at all, where for earlier game versions you could at least get lucky. I’ve tried several times on three different characters who have all previously finished the story chapter, relogging, switching to a different character before trying again, guesting on different servers, entering with and without minis and pets, playing through the whole chapter again, the mote just doesn’t appear.

It is incredibly annoying to be stopped by this one little thing not appearing where it should.

I try it before work, then I try it after work & it’s always broken. I don’t even feel like doing cof p1 like this anymore xd

I would really like to see this fixed.

Been trying a couple days now that I finally got around to it and have had no luck with any of the suggestions. The icon shows it as being available until you plant the seed and then it’s gone. No mote ever.

Any hope of getting this attended with the next update?

I’ve been goofing of this this for the last hour, only to find this thread. Furthermore this is not the first time a challenge mote failed to appear/activate properly for me in an episode.

You know what the biggest challenge is for the challenge mote? Getting it to work.

Also still waiting for Anet to fix this challenge mote issue with Unforgiving Infiltration. No dev response makes me worry if it’ll ever be fixed though.

bump! I got the same problem. Mote for “Meeting the Asura” doesn’t exist.

Just checked on it again this morning and it still did not appear.

Please let me know if I can provide any additional information if it will help get this fixed sooner.
