PATCH APRIL 15: Clones appearing in armor look instead of outfit look
With new update, you can now wear ex-town clothes over your armor looks.
I’m not sure if this is intended to happen but when wearing town-clothes, your clones appear in your original armor which makes it easy for pvp opponents to spot you and not mistaken a clone for you.

they can’t fix the class. they can’t fix a bug without introducing a new one (or three)…..and they don’t have the QA manpower/skill/or schedule priority for it to go any other way than it has for the past 2 yrs.
best to move on (to another class or game) or work with what still hasn’t been bugged to uselessness.

Edited the first posts to include dev comments. Crossed out fixed bugs and skills which I as a player agree can be working as intended.

- 36. GS1 damage indicator.

They’re aware of it. They posted in this thread before and after patch and hotfixed some bugs which gave a profession advantage.

If you’re talking about Tyler’s post, then some bugs simply got listed after it.
As for feature patch notes… Yes, a lot of us were expecting far more fixes, especially among the ones “promised”, especially the Warden one, Portal one and Illusionary Elasticity (which would’ve improved my PvP build – yeah, a fix treated as a buff!). So the problem is not in being unaware, the problem is that the priority on those is low enough to stay untouched for that long of a time. And at the moment we have numerous game-breaking bugs from the megaserver system, which would in turn be overridden with new Living Story Season 2 bugs, and so on and so on until we get another feature patch in half a year.
I come and check this thread occasionally, and just wanted to put my +1 for getting these bugs fixed. If you look on the mesmer forums people have pretty much gotten over the kitten of the new GMs being pretty meh. All people seem to really want at this point is just bug fixes these bugs; even just some of the main weapon-breaking or trait-killing ones. Even just some word from ANet SAYING they’re working on X bugs, or that they’re NOT working on Y bugs (just saw ANet post from page 6)
My 2cents: Illusionary Elasticity and iWarden ASAP, please!

37. Phantasms and Gates.
- May not attack gates (both in PvE and WvW) – just spawn and do nothing.
- May spawn on the other side of the gate.
- As a result, may switch targets and attack enemy players/NPCs since they’re already inside.
- As a result, may get killed instead of staying on the right side of the gate and attacking it.
Not sure if I’ve seen this behaviour prior to the patch, but I believe yes.

Not likely – since most if not all maps have been megaservered today, I’m pretty sure they have bugs coming with those as a top priority.

From PvE perspective, that opened up a whole new dungeon build for interrupting bosses through stacks of defiance which could make mesmers asked-for in dungeons – which was good since another dungeon build got closed by the non-PRed stealth-swap of mantra traits. Actually, I believe that whole defiant “bug” would’ve made a nice future GM trait of it’s own – if ANet insists that we can’t get a trait for both PvP and PvE combined in one.
It’s disappointing that ANet are seemingly ignoring an entire class. Some of these issues should have been fixed long ago, and the excuses for not addressing some of our concerns just don’t cut it. As someone who doesn’t care much for alts, it pains me that I’m just expected to sit around and twiddle my thumbs until ANet (hopefully) wake up one day and decide to fix Mesmers. thats how i feel. i love my mes. i had her like 1 month after headstart and never looked back. i made alts but dont play them often. after iwarden got broken, i made a necro and i do find myself playing her more often atm as im feeling exactly like u do. we have been waiting for over a year, we were sad and lost after confusion nerf, but we were all hopeful and were waiting…what folowed were more nerfs and then all the bug kept adding up 1by1. it took them 6 months to fix iberserker,iwarden is getting close to that now aswell…
and now this patch anet barely even touched our class. terrible unfinished or missplaced gm traits and most of the bugs still havent been fixed and then another nerf and absolutely nothing to improve the mesmers groupbuild diversity or even a real wvw raid build option.
seriously, how long are we being ignored?how long must we wait until we finally get attention, real attention not just bugfixes. we need rework, trait improvements unnerfs and new traits so we can be viable in every gamemode not just 1v1.

I agree with Taevion that if the illusion’s speed on Illusionary Leap isn’t made faster, then the cripple has to be stronger, because currently it is one of the most forgiving skills in the game to dodge and players can get the benefits of a full dodge frame even while immobilized because they happened to start just before the swap.
This would also help the depth of the skill since it would be stronger at baiting out premature dodges.

After those dev posts I actually had high hopes, but the patch was pathetic. Those announced bugfixes are a joke, and – sorry if that sounds rude – Anet should be embarassed.
It’s been almost two years now, seriously. What saddens me most is seeing them bugfixing something like Power Block in just one day.

it really is enraging/sad. it proves they can fix skill/trait bugs quickly when they want to. they simply don’t want to 99.99% of the time.
the power block hotfix really does seem like an extreme dev to player trolling. i just can’t express how much i dislike the work the Balance and QA teams of this game do….

seriously we gave anet all we can. we analized the bugs in detail and made videos. then we made even suggestions on how the bug might be addressed, so now its on u anet.if u cant fix iwarden then revert it to its former glory until u have found a solution. it is attacking but not reflecting multiple projectiles anymore. just revert it until u can 100%fix it

I made an ascended staff for my Mesmer the other day and broke the old one down (using BL kit) as I wanted the sigil and ectoplasm.
The staff my clones hold is the one I broke down even though I am using the ascended one. I hadn’t transmuted a skin onto the original or ascended.
However, when using my ascended greatsword clones have the correct weapon but occasionally just stand there or can’t be shattered – again the ascended has the sigil from the old sword on it.
Happens in both PvE and WvW so please anet, fix our bugs.
so erm about that hitting the oil build side in wvw and the los issues with hitting stuff on walls….erm and that iwarden, and btw idk if this has ever been intended but if a necro uses ds2 on feedback i get pulled right in the middle of the enemy zerg instead of him being ported. so feedback reflects projectiles and should not twist abilities around i think….that necro d2 even pulls me through the door. so that shouldnt be intended…

The Necro skill always worked that way when reflected. They used it quite often to troll when Mesmers were more popular in large scale fights (before the Glamour nerf.) However, you are right that it should not pull you through a door.
I can confirm that illusions do appear on the other side of the gate and start attacking enemies in EoTM and they do not attack the gate at all (tested with GS2,4 and focus 5).
Ways to reproduce:
- Buy a character expansion slot.
- Create a mesmer.
- Port to EoTM.
- Cast illusions on the gate.
The staff my clones hold is the one I broke down even though I am using the ascended one. I hadn’t transmuted a skin onto the original or ascended.
I would suggest attaching a screenshot.
Phase Retreat – for me, stuck happens more often than before April Update.

What is the incentive for us to document bugs when they are not addressed? Or worse, if we are told they will be addressed and then they are not?
Tried illusions on gates in WvW yesterday – they also appear on the other side of the gate and run off to attack people, but at least they attack the gate (dunno about all gates, but the one on the picture at least).
Phantasmal Retreat – for me, stuck happens more often than before April Update.
Seen no change in Phase Retreat/shadowstep stucking with staff build in PvP. May be a latency issue since more people are playing PvP and servers are stressed out more with megazergers active. I did get a skill lag in PvP though…

Somthing is really, really wrong with Phase Retreat after April update.
I got stucked so many times in WvW and sPvP. Sometimes I have to wait 3-5 sec before I can move, sometimes I can’t move at all.
This happens too often to me. Really annoying.

@ atlavis, are you using it when you are stunned or not?
If you are using it when stunned, I can tell, it’s not a stun break, but can be activated like a stun breaker. (bug?)
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM

I know that it doesn’t break stuns.

Ah, OK I think I’ve had the same thing, and only in WvW and sPvP like you say. There have been around 5 times I’ve used Phase Retreat and become stuck at the new spot. It’s always been on generally flat terrain. Visually I don’t appear to be clipping into the ground but I just can’t move off the spot. Further Phase Retreats, Blinks and even WPing doesn’t fix it, though once a kindly enemy knocked me back and that appeared to do the trick.
I’d say I’ll try to replicate and record it, but frankly that doesn’t seem to be progressing bugfixes atm
Oh, what Atlavis is describing is definitely real, it also sometimes occurs with Blink. Very painful to deal with and the only cure so far I’ve found is to type /dance (not kidding).

Any chance of fixing these bugs that have been around forever…?
they don’t know how to fix mesmer bugs (or any bugs related to AI skills). 2 years of futility. a fast fix for them would be about 6 months.
find another class (one that doesn’t rely on AI)

Bug Q gives an advantage to classes A, B and C. Hotfix it!
Bugs X, Y, Z give an advantage to classes A, B, C, D, E, F, G. Leave them there for ages!
On one hand, as the OP I thought I wanted to ask the thread frequenters to behave to let the devs take the thread seriously.
On the other hand, I do not want to say anything because otherwise maybe the devs would see the general mood of the thread and would start to take the thread seriously.
EDIT: Seems like the stuck bug is really getting more often.

Bug: Triumphant Distortion (XIII) dose not activate Masterful Reflection (IV)
Known Issues: when killing mobs i should reflect Projectials.
Fix: check coding issues check proct check trait bug.
it clearly states in Masterful Reflection that Distortion grants Reflection. and in Triumphant Distortion Gain Distortion upon killing and enemy for 3seconds. so why is it not procting Masterful Reflection????
if this skill wasnt ment to stack with Masterful Reflection than can you change the “Distortion” to Evade or Clearly state dose not stack with Masterful Reflection. also triumphant dose have a cool down its not stated in traits

i believe that im not the only one who stuck from time to time (in wvwvw) … i thought this will be fixed with last patch … but it seems they didnt touched this yet. I simpy stuck and i cant move …. this happens only on mesmer. Its not like when you stuck at siege …. there you just do weapon swep and problem solved…. but this is other story … you just stuck there till somebody kill you. Sorry for bad eng
