well for me atm its rip mes in general. too many bugs make this class a pain to play in wvw. well there will be a patch at some point and then they break something again.

They cannot admit their mistakes. That would earn a failing grade in Politics 101. So they really cannot talk about the warden anymore, since they claimed that it was fixed and saying “we’re looking into it” would be an admission that they were wrong.

PvE is generally very forgiving. But getting stuck in place after Phase Retreat in WvW effectively makes you a free kill.

Funny… Looks like swapping weapons before clone with GS is generated by GS2 results in a clone with off-hand weapon from the other set but no main-hand.

/ trying to think how weird the code for clones must be to produce such kind of bugs.

I know I mentioned that before but haven’t shown proof of it happening. There are times where the circles to the left of F1-F4 are filled showing I have illusions out yet in reality they are not. It has happened many times before but now I finally have it on tape.

At 0:39 a clone gets destroyed – circle still filled.
At 1:56 two phantasms get destroyed – circles still filled again.

It seems random but happens more often at times where phantasms/clones get one-shot to oblivion such as Lupi kicks.

gave up on it too. i play wvw mainly and i do zergbusting, the bugs will cause immediate death, plus nothing has been fone to help the wvw mes. so i main my necro and am leveling a guard and war… mes too broken and only viable in spvp.

I found a bug I havne’t seen reference to before. Compounding Power actually increases your damage numbers exponentially with Spatial Surge when you keep auto-casting. Gets up to 180k and then resets. The important thing to note is that it doesn’t actually do that damage; it’s just a UI bug :P So nothing as fun as the old Descent Into Madness bug. But here’s the proof!

At least we may finally have the things going now, as 2 years after release Chris Whiteside, ArenaNet Studio Design Director, the guy who advices everyone on how X and Y things should be done in the game,

Chris: I only ever use car analogies. Basically I’m essentially the customer for the group that is building the car. We work together to spec out what the car is. Then the team builds it and I give them my support and tell them how I think it’s doing from a design standpoint. Then we iterate on it and iterate on it so it handles really well and we win races. That’s just a multiple times reported display bug which happens with many channelled skills, not mesmer’s only. Trait is irrelevant.

Speaking of shatter…
Ever tried distortion when facing a summon like the icebrood wolf in CoE (#IDLE illusions doing nothing usefull)
I got 1-2 sec delay before getting it
specially when it should be instant

Mesmer

  • Added a skill fact for number of targets for skills that strike more than one enemy.
  • Time Warp: Added a skill fact for number of targets: 5. Added a skill fact for pulses: 11.
  • Mass Invisibility: Added a skill fact for number of targets: 10.
  • Mantra of Recovery: Added a description to the Power Return buff granted by this skill.
  • Phantasmal Mage: Fixed an incorrect number of bounces skill fact. This skill bounces 2 times (hits 3 targets).
  • Phantasmal Disenchanter:
    * Fixed an incorrect number of bounces skill fact. This skill bounces 4 times (hits 5 targets).
    * Fixed a bug that caused this skill to fail to hit its fifth target.

Thank you Anet for not breaking more stuff in attempts to fix it! (I believe it’s hard to invent gamebreaking bugs by fixing tooltips, but thanks anyway).
And thank you for fixing the Caledon Wurm instead of nerfing Feedback! It’s a miracle.
May be you will forget that we exist, and we will not see any more “bugfixes” breaking stuff they were intended to fix, occasional nerfs and other “nice stuff” coming our way for which we should’ve “stayed tuned”.
One can only hope.

Distortion shatter is currently bugged, unless this was it’s actual effect. It currently only evades attacks rather than granting invulnerability on shatter. Meaning, you cannot walk through Line of Warding, Static Fields and similar abilities like these. I assume Distortion is suppose to give you invulnerability rather than evasion and I do not see anything in the patch notes regarding a change like this.

yup just tested it. not 1 single bug has been fixed. apart from disenchanter which is one of the least used skills. iwarden still broken and now distortion grants no more invul? seriously anet sooo much hate for mesmers. just redesign the class already. u keep breaking it and take every single thing that would help in wvw. how am i supposed to survive now in a zerg with distortion being like this?guys, seriously anet has again showed how much they hate our class and not fixed anything, we should just reroll, this classs is soo broken and the bugs and ninja changes are getting worse and worse.

i’d recommend necro at least u can play it in wvw and spvp and tpvp viable only if u do pve go with a different class.ill finish leveling my guardian and main my necro. gg anet!

I rushed to the forums to see patch notes today when I saw the update had come. Scrolled down to the mesmer section and saw…tooltip fixes.

Nothing to see here, folks, move along. iWarden still as useless as ever. :s

What’s worse is that the iWarden/Temporal Curtain combo would be extremely helpful with the Queen’s Gauntlet…but it would be stupid to rely on it for condi removal right now when it doesn’t attack most of the time.

Edit: Wow, can’t believe they added another gamebreaking bug to the class while fixing tooltips. How does that even happen? Unless this was an intentional nerf. In which case…I have no words. Smh.

Incredible, another survivability key ability is gone: Mesmer was practically unplayable in zerg, now it is.

  • One broken blink which “teleports” you to current position in zerg = death, which happens, I think… 30% of time? 50% of time?
  • Getting stuck after survivability skills like phase retreat or blink bug out = death.
  • Not being able to distort through lines after broken blinks anymore = death.
  • Failed iLeap = high increase in chance of death.
  • Nerfed vigor = high increase in chance of death.
  • Phantasms not attacking gates = useless.
  • Constant “Obstructed!” = useless.
  • Targets constantly running away to “Out of range!” = useless.
  • One AoE weapon skill = poor tagging.
  • Illusions failing on invulnerable.
  • Temporal curtain not stacking swiftness – buy Traveler’s or go home. Chasing fleeing prey? Forget it.
  • Temporal curtain so low that its reflect is nearly useless.
  • Warden not attacking.
  • Warden reflecting damage to single target.

Hey, we still got veil and portal (without a range indicator)… which we can use if we do not need to slot in blink, condi removal and stability to survive, which obviously we do not as we wear heavy armour and have largest health pool and highest mobility.

nice summary, thats how i feel atm. with distortion being bugged(or intentionally nerfed) another survival in zergs is gone. it is already really tough to survive on mes in a zerg and now its even worse. anet please delete and start from scratch if u are unable to understand the class mechanics and fix the terrible bugs. just redesign the whole class.

Lishtenbird, thank you for your previous efforts to bring our plight to the attention of the devs. Would you mind changing the title of the thread so it doesn’t say “Not updated anymore”. Perhaps change to “Please read entire thread for full details” or something. I just can’t believe that they will have read this thread and ignored it for tooltip fixes – call me naïve…..perhaps if we bring it to their attention in neon lights again, they might drop by to tell us what’s going on.

nice summary, thats how i feel atm. with distortion being bugged(or intentionally nerfed) another survival in zergs is gone. it is already really tough to survive on mes in a zerg and now its even worse.

Do not forget about the post factum nerf of Triumphant Distortion which received a 10 second cooldown despite clearly being advertised as having no cooldown and leading to conclusion of this trait being viable in zerg.

anet please delete and start from scratch if u are unable to understand the class mechanics and fix the terrible bugs. just redesign the whole class.

I think if they delete mesmer and start a new class from scratch, they’ll eventually come up with a warrior.

But I really doubt it changes anything. They have this thread, they have the links, they have separate threads in Game Bugs section for new bugs – they have those listed but just do not fix them. No, really, what can you expect if after two years the most important “advice guy” who should function as a customer benchmark just rolled a mesmer while having a 34k HP heal spec Warrior as a main?

My mesmer is currently bugged. I’ve noticed this change since the megaserver rollout.

When I try to cast certain skills (generally illusion/phantasm), my character goes through the animation, then experiences a phantom interrupt right before the skill is cast. I have to press my phantasm/illusion skills twice most of the time. This is really frustrating vs difficult opponents.

When I am downed, my stealth and teleport skill has the same problem. And when it does work, the stealth part is broken now.

This sounds like massive lag to me.

Thanks for the heads up. It is clearly lag. I’m not even sure if it’s a bug. Glad to see I’m not the only one. I caught somebody thinking that Liadri was causing this. I realized instantly it was the same problem I had

Well, lets be accurate:

he didnt say he was aware of “all this issues”, he said he will be looking at one of them. which means: taking a look, then doing… well…. whatever for the next 5 months…

like when its raining, ur house has no roof and someone says, “well i will take a look at the colour of this one brick above the door”
