Mesmer Bugs: 33+ [Updated October 22nd]
I’ll go through these and test them when I have the chance. Frifox, I made a thread a week or so ago listing all the new bugs in this patch. You may want to take a look to see some you missed.

Phase Retreat is really weird.
Do you think it is possible to sync it with portal for longer distance?

Unlikely, both are instant skills.
I just tested #22 and it’s fixed. I used IP and both traits apply their effect when shattering with no illusions out.
I’ll repost this here, so other people can double check it and put it on the list, if it’s confirmed:
I just tried to make a build with the Mesmer trait Disruptor’s Sustainment (Inspiration XIII, +1k Healing power on interrupt), but I’m not sure if the trait works.
If I interrupt an enemy (in pvp or pve) with the trait active I do not get any buff. While this might not be a bug in itself, it’s really hard to test whether the trait works or not otherwise. It’s also almost impossible to use the trait if you can not determine if the buff is active or not.
Tested Disruption’s Sustainment both in PvP and PvE, both work as intended.
Also, removed #22 (fixed) and added 2 more at the end, loss of mantra charges and mimic + far-reaching manipulations trait issue.
22. Triumphant Distortion (?)
- Triumphant Distortion (possibly all distortion and invuln?) prevents you from receiving the hammer buff to attack the seals on the Cliffside Fractal.
Late reply, but figured you could use an update to know we are reading these.
This was a bug with how the hammer itself was unlocking Skill 4, and not any one particular profession’s ability fault. We’re investigating this now to make sure the fix works globally for all professions.

You have my sincere gratitude for letting us know what you all are working on and acknowledging an issue, complete with explanation even! This is great to see :-)
Good to see a red post around here. Thanks for replying and explaining.
Another patch and nothing on notes about mesmers…
The minion thing is fixed, let’s hope they’ll also fix the mantra issue as soon as possible.

back to page 1 you go
Oh, I have just found a thing although it’s more like cosmetician stuff or what not. I have noted that phantasms also wear the same backpiece as player does, but the backpiece on them isn’t translucent like the rest of the body making it looking a bit weird.
Also, (I believe this one already was reported) the clones doesn’t seem to be using off-hand weapons although their anim shows like they are holding something.
I also noted an inconsistent behavior, it couldn’t be an issue on PvE but I believe it can be annoying on PvP or WvW. When wearing town clothes (and I believe outfits too, although I can’t imagine why someone would use them in PvP :P) and using a skill from ranged weapons (staff per example) that spawns a clone, the clone stays using town clothes while the player leaves the transformation and goes back using normal armor. This causes the player to look differently from the clones.
Well, this was just a result of a boring moment where I was messing around with skills at a practice target, lol. I had never realized these details before.
BALANCE, BUG-FIXING, POLISH
Profession SkillsMesmer
- Phase Retreat: Fixed an issue that caused this ability to be reflected or blocked by enemies.
- Chaos Armor: Removed the range indicator from this skill.
And this thread is going to be buried on depths of forums again… :P Btw, can someone confirm if the fixed bugs mentioned on patch notes were really solved?
The new Mimic appears bugged as well.
It seems to only copy some of the boons instead of “up to 12” that are on the target. And it also doesn’t seem to copy the same durations, i.e. the boons the mesmer received expire way faster than the target they were copied from.
Sometimes the skill just doesn’t do anything. So not sure what exactly are the conditions for a successful execution? LOS, can it be blocked (even though it says unblockable) dodged? Extremely unreliable.
I haven’t tested Mimic mostly because of how useless that utility is. But from the time I did play with it, it did copy the correct duration. Best course of action would be to get the bug on video and post it here for evaluation.
The Harmonious Mantras dropping constantly from 3 to 2 is really starting to drive me crazy.
With all these LS story patches, I keep hoping they’ll manage to drop in some “minor” fixes. I really thought I was hitting the key automatically after playing my engineer too long and using kits. It is good to know that I just might not be completely insane, yet.
Maybe I’m imagining things, but did they recently change how fast null field will pulse and clear constantly reapplying conditions in PvE? I swear used to be able to just stand in a poison field and pop it and get my daily condition remover in one go, but as of a month or so ago, that changed?
I’d like to add another one here,
Blurred Frenzy (Sword, 2nd skill) hits only 4 times instead 8 times refer to tool tip.
Edit: Most likely wrong tool tip here. As we can see from the skill animation, only 4 swings of sword.
(edited by fiasse.4762)
Each swing connects 2 times. 4 swings x 2 each is 8 total. Do BF and check your combat log. You should see “you hit xxx for xxx with BF” 8 times in a row.
Despite seeing my clones stand still a few times it seems like the issues with clones/illusions doing nothing has subsided. At least I haven’t been so much annoyed anymore by my clones glancing at enemies waiting for me to defeat them lol
However, possible not related to mesmer skills but I have had hard time with my skills, mainly the ones with cast time. Lately, whenever I try to cast one like iWarden and then I hit the skill #1 or some faster skill, the iWarden is canceled as if I hadn’t even pressed it. It happens with several casted skills or ones which require ground targeting. One can say it’s lag, but it happens even when I’m not experiencing any lag.
Clones/phantasms still appear on the other side of gates, and sometimes still run off and attack other things.
But something I’m seeing, unless it’s just been some really odd flukes, is that Mind Stab does not appear to be removing a boon.

Release Notes:
BALANCE, BUG-FIXING, POLISH
Profession SkillsMesmer
- Illusionary Leap: Removed the ability to use this skill in midair.
For some reason I feel this is going to break something… :S
Obviously this was a very pressing issue lol…. Seriously how many people are jumping around and trying to use illusionary leap at the same time. But yeah sadly I expect something to be broken. Meanwhile I’m sure warden is still broken with illusionary celerity.
You can add to the list.
Issue : Phantasmal Warden does not benefit reduced cooldown on skill recharge from Phantasmal Haste.
Background: I’m making a theorycraft spreadsheet and while I was testing Phantasms I noticed that Warden does not have higher attack frequency with trait.
Its 9s cooldown + 5s channel in both cases. With and without trait, that is.
*yaws* Hey, still no changes for these issues and still waiting....
Once upon a time a Warden that would think their abilities were simply to look blank waiting something to happen… :P Yeah, iWarden still seems to stand there glancing at mobs without doing anything. Recently I noticed that, I went to gather from a node but there was a mob near it, I spawned my iWarden on the mob and went to gather. iWarden stood there doing nothing and the mob came to me, ignoring my illusion.
Ohhhh….. (I hope it’s true, I haven’t tested yet)

1200 range Blink will go on full cd when used without a valid path:

Yay, at least mesmers now can have some more mobility. Signet of Inspiration giving granted swiftness each 10 secs.. woot! :P
