I wish they’d rather fix the kittening bugs than releasing new contents (yay, more bugs).
OOM crashes was never a thing before the 23rd patch but now (especially after yesterday’s patch), its making the game unplayable. I’m a 32 bit user and the gaming experience since HoT released has deteriorated exponentially….
Same here.
Before HoT i was playing very well in a PC that’s far from high end, with a 32 bit OS.
When HoT launched i started to crash in high populated areas and HoT maps, by decreasing the graphics i managed to stay longer ig but i’d crash at least once an hour.-
With this last patch, i cant even stay in for 1 minute. Its ridiculous.
I mean… we buy the base game, now HoT… to get a broken kitten game?
Fix this ASAP.
New patch new opportunities … for a crash. :-(
Gentlemen, so wrong: the situation has deteriorated a lot … after the latest patch I crash in each map every 10/15 minutes. At the moment the game seems … broken!
How can they release something like this? Can they not assume that the game isn’t ready to? Not only they ruin the game, their reputation and customer’s confidence too.
Crashes and freezes everywhere. Before HoT everything was fine. But now…
I had no problems before the november 17 patch. Since then I’ve had a few OOM crashes.
Hi! Since the update, my client crashes as soon as I do anythin’ inside the game. As it is at the moment, gw2 is therefore unplayable for me. The only thing I notice is graphical glitches when I press M for the big map. This glitches appear as green and blue shades instead of the normal map. Sadly, I cannot screen cap this, because as soon as I press M, it crashes. I’m really upset and I hope this issue will be fixed in the next within hours. Or immediately.
well still no answer from arenanet
i’ve sent like a 200 error logs until today and nothing…
Yesterday’s update…
Ok, maybe things are more stable now…HOOray!?
Downloads, enters the game, 1 minute later weeps in despair…
Nevermind going back to Hearthstone.
same here… cant play wvwvw now couse of crashes :/
me too, its only gotten worse, at the beginning of hot it wasnt so bad, but with these new downdates, its gone from bad to worse.
Keep hoping…We’ve been suffering since HoT launch of those kitten crashes, and nothing has been adressed for those who, like me, are using a 32-bit pc (actually 64-bit users also keep crashing lol). It’s about time that you come up with a solution Anet, and don’t try blaming our hardware because there’s people with great pc’s who also crash, neither a lack of RAM, processor or Graphic card.
Still Crashing, again, most crashes does not load the error report it just ends the program, completely.

Turn down graphics to absolute minimum or
change your OS to 64bit and build more ram into your pc.
Okay, I waited 24 hours to play cause I thought something will be done. 2-3 min crash after entering the game. Ugh, I start to think it was done on purpose to download the 64bit beta.

GW2 requirements.
CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo 2.0 GHz, Core i3, AMD Athlon 64 X2 or better
RAM: 2 GB
OS: Windows XP Service Pack 2 or better
Video Card: NVIDIA GeForce 7800, ATI Radeon X1800, Intel HD 3000 or better (256 MB of video RAM and shader model 3.0 or better)
Sound Card: Yes
Free Disk Space: 25 GB
If I or anyone else bought a game with THIS requirements… them and I don’t have to buy more ram because i have more than 2gb and i dont have to upgrade, because it’s 32bit game i bought. You are telling me that i have to buy a better computer just because this game became unplayable 2 months ago?… It’s THEIR responsability, not mine. They have memory leeks and terrible optimization issues, not I… I can run everything on this pc, even latest huge games, but i have to buy 16gb of ram for memory leek to be confortable…

64bit client players are crashing too friend… They are just destroying the game.
I have 32bit OS, before yesterday’s update core Tyria was running smoothly for me, HOT content was crash festival… But yesterday everything changed and I didn’t have to play game to crash- starting client was sufficent. I’ve read at FB comments that manually changing IncreaseUserVA to 3072 can help at tried this. I didn’t have enough time to test but I’ve played around hour- I’ve done Tarir defence meta event without any crash.
Now I’m planning to hop to game for longer time and I’m hoping that solution’ll help. GW2 has awesome playerbase- they know better than devs what to do with game to be playable. :O
And just logged in after update, and insta crash…
I had the same problem, i cant craft or pvp… anything. I crash in under a minute sometimes.

My Graphics are turned down to an absolute minimum. I will not change my OS to 64 bit, and the 64 bit clients are running into the same issue. I have played GW2 since release on this computer with one exception. I did change my video card months ago and that is not the issue.
I can play games with higher requirements on my system than the System Requirements of GW2 HoT.
If I compare my system to that system specs of “Can I run it”, my specs more than clear the benchmark for playing Guild Wars 2.
So for someone who does not work for ANet to comment is either trolling, or a busybody who actually does not know what he’s talking about.
Hello,
since some days I have frequent crashes in WVW. I can enter WVW and run around well. But as soon as a fight with bigger Group starts (sometimes it works to fight for some seconds with the zerg then I am kicked), Client fully crashes and GW2 error window appears (where I always click on “send to Anet”).
Below I posted what was in the last error window (IP address I removed from the log).
Anybody an idea?

offical hot system requirments,so before patch game crashed only once a hour now after patch it crash every ten mintues.what in the patch is doing this
Exactly the same situation, but happy that i now know the game is broken and everyone in the same boat, and i dont need to replace my comp….just yet
Ever since I installed large address aware I stopped getting crashes. Been crash free for over 2 months I think until last patch. Now I crash every 5 mins almost on the dot….I think it’s time to seriously address this issue. 3 years in and the only fix we got was a 64 bit client and even now that no longer fixes it.
Okay, I waited 24 hours to play cause I thought something will be done. 2-3 min crash after entering the game. Ugh, I start to think it was done on purpose to download the 64bit beta.
64bit client players are crashing too friend… They are just destroying the game.
Oh my, thats not good.
Tried again, my crash just crashed. At least I managed to get my dailies. Yay me.
You’ve removed the first part which is import since it shows the cause of the error.
My best guess is that you have an OOM crash and are you using the 32bit client.
Try the 64bit client.
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/support/64-bit-Client-Beta-FAQ/first#post5717439
-snip-
Still the same solution.
Turn down graphics to absolute minimum or
change your OS to 64bit and build more ram into your pc.My Graphics are turned down to an absolute minimum.
1) Continue to crash and wait for some fix sometime in the future
or
2) Upgrade your system
It is your choice.
And please show me the posts of players using the 64bit client with at least 8 gb ram running into OOM crashes. I’m genuinely curious about that because most say that the crashes stopped completely and I personally have seen only one such post.
And in that case the log suggested that the error was caused by something else.
When HOT launched I started to get crashes, but very rarely, then as the patches progressed the frequency of the crashes has been steadily increasing with each patch.
1st it was only in WVW during huge battles and the BL laser event, then upper mid size battles, then big PVE events, now its just anywhere, regardless of amount of people / NPCs present and its becoming just too often.
Attached here is the log file from the latest crash and my DXDiag info, hopefully these can help.
Game crash log, stupid forum won’t let me upload both at the same time

(N……..PI have been crashing about hourly when playing the game since the update yesterday. I have had so few crashing before this that I can literally count them on my two hands and I have been playing for well over a year. With the big meta events, I have missed so many final events and meta end rewards that it is really ticking me off. I noticed a big increase in the amount of memory the game is using and the crashing is definitely an OOM crash issue. I put in a ticket, but got no confirmation that it was received, so I’m posting here as well. Here is the latest crash log. Thank you for any help you can give!

I’m having the same problem. I NEVER crashed before. Now it’s almost every 10-15 minutes. I’ve tried 64 bit. It was just as bad. I’ve uninstalled everything and reinstalled it from scratch. It’s just gotten worse after patches.
And I’m continuing to crash constantly. I NEVER had this problem before the last few patches and HoT. Please fix this! I’m about ready to quit for a while because it’s becoming unplayable with so much dc’ing. I’ve uninstalled, reinstalled, tried 64 bit. Nothing is helping, if anything it’s gotten so much worse.
Easy solution.
Use the 64bit client.

Just gave this a go, so far longest ive been ingame without a crash, completed my first meta event in Tarir.
So far so good.
Its terrible. Im very frustrated. Can’t do anything. I log, try to do an event, crash halfway, never manage to finish it or get any reward.
Again and again. I can’t even PVP normally!
Downloading that now, but had heard from so many in game that it doesn’t help. Here’s crossing my fingers and hoping you are right.
It’s not the 32 or 64 bit. I’ve used both. Both are crashing to hell and it’s getting worse. I NEVER crashed before. I don’t crash in anything else. Tried fully uninstalling and reinstalling. Nada.
Thought it was because I still use the “old” client (since I “only” have 8GB RAM I didn’t dare to use the 64bit client yet since I read about a lot ppl having issues with it when having less than 16GB RAM) but reading about everyone crashing, no matter what client, I feel somewhat reliefed.
To add to the mess: just “played” for 2,5 hours, central tyria only, 4 crashes. Same for my wife. Same for guildies and friends.
Before I could count the crashes per year on the fingers of one hand…
“… so if the problem is my crappy pc, why i can play Fallout 4 on 60 fps?”
Fallout 4 requires a 64 bit OS as well as most newer games:
http://www.pcgamer.com/fallout-4-system-requirements-released/
You should download the 64 bit client, since you must already be running a 64 bit OS. You have to go here to get it:
I see a lot of people moaning, nobodies posting their PC specs ?
Fallout 4 is 64bit operating sytems only as has been said.
Post your specs if you want help.
your kitten last patched killed something fix it please. i am having regular crashes now even when using 64 bit client, never had any issues before.
i have a 1.6k€ gaming pc and ran hot bevore without any issues, now even on minimal details it crashes (win 7)
it seems to occure most of the time when there is a huge load like a laser shooting from the sky or a boss using a special attack or whatever.
my wife is crashing every 2-3 minutes. The game is totally unplayable. she logs in.. crashes. Sometimes she doesnt even make it into game.
before hot she crashed maybe once in 8-10 hours of play. or at vinewrath after the fight, a known bug.
During the halloween event(when HoT was released) she crashed a ton.. being able to stay on though for around 5-10 minutes
After the halloween event ended, she was ok… it seemed that the halloween code was messing up the game.
After the 11/17 patch … she cant stay on more than 2-3 minutes. This makes the game totally unplayable again.
Can we please get a fix or at least a dev to axknowledge that this is happening or a fix is in the works?
Btw, she is running windows 32 with an nvidia graphics card… no.. upgrading to the 64 bit client isnt an option, and also is NOT a complete fix.. as people with 64 bit windows are getting the same crash.
Meanwhile, i on my little craptop with windows 64 and intel uma video have never crashed once.
Something tells me there is a problem in the video coding for nvidia and amd cards.. since intel UMA never gets the crash.
the ONLY time i have crashed is back when the second beta was in with the new squad UI. Every time i would enter the water, i would black screen.. but that hasnt happened since the release of the squad stuff 11/17… so… who knows.
Hope they fix this soon.. shes furious!
wooooow anet,
errors every 20 minutes since latest patch. please fix this. i paid so much money for this game. don’t wanna regret it.
thx
Hi, i’m also getting heaps of this crashes now ever since that Raid patch to send error report to ArenaNet. I think they must be getting bombarded with these error reports. Interestingly, i look at some players who posted their error reports here, seem to be more crash for Nvidia cards. Any one with AMD cards having this crashes too?
I am a 32 bit user with Nvidia graphics card and I don’t last more than 5 minutes without a crash
That’s how bad it is for 32 bit users
Maybe we have cardboard computers or maybe some people have alien computers. The review of mmorpg site scores the polish section as 9. Unfortunately, I’m not registered to ask the author if he is kidding me/a lot of people.
got crashes every 20 min. pls fix
For this error:
If you’re running 4G of RAM, the client version (x64/x86) shouldn’t matter greatly. That said, with the x64 version, you could try increasing the size of your paging file to see if it helps. On a 32-bit OS, you likely need to upgrade, but here are couple things you can try to reduce crashing. Try lowering the game resolution. If you’re running 1080p, try lowering it to 720p. Lock the framerate at 60fps (This prevents framerate spikes) and lower memory intensive settings such as hi-res character textures, shaders, post-processing. Another thing to do is kill all non-required processes in the task manager to free up as much memory as possible. You don’t need Steam and iTunes and Adobe updater, and IE, and Firefox, etc, etc, etc all running in the background…they all use memory.
For this error:
YOU NEED TO TEST YOUR MEMORY (memtest86 is the best app for this). I can’t stress this enough. If you’re not comfortable doing this, you need take it to someone who can because this very often means your memory needs to be replaced. This applies to both the x64 and x86 versions, but will likely present itself more often when running the x64 version since it uses more memory.

Same thing is happening to me senki. I am upset. been crashing since the update yesterday.
