A connection issue arose late last night (about 11 PM Pacific time Tuesday, July 11) that impacted players in both North America and Europe. After some hours of investigation and work, the issue was resolved for nearly everyone as of approximately 8:00 AM Pacific today (Wednesday, July 12).
I have merged into this thread several separate posts on the subject, and you’ll find the latest news at the end of this thread.

My game crashed and I’ve been getting this when I try rerunning the game. Anyone else getting this? I’ve already reset my modem and also flushed DNS, still doesn’t fix it.
Yeah, me too, for about the past hour or so maybe. I’m just logging on for the first time today . . .
It came up once and updated with the new patch, but I then — foolishly — closed and reopened to see if the prob was fixed and now I’m just getting the connection error screen again . . .
EDIT: No I’m able to log in, go figure . . .

I usually play via mobile data and it was working 2 hours ago, now all I get is the connection error pop up, regardless of the Google DNS and properties change.
Strangely my potato modem wifi still works, however it’s unplayable with 1k ping and frequent lag spikes.

I’m having the same issue. I was ok earlier, I logged out and now I cannot log back in because of this error.
Oh okay :/ Was wondering if I had to repair or something, will just wait until it gets fixed. Hopefully soon, gotta get some gold to get that Chaos Bow skin!

Same here. Was playing about 6 hours ago with no issues. Both 32 and 64 bit executables showing same error.

Same error is showing up, 6 hours ago everything worked just perfect. I hope they will fix it soon.

I decided to leave hotm coz of long queue time but got abandon/dishonor instead and now i got this error

I also am having trouble connecting. This is rather troublesome as I don’t have a lot of time to play these days, and this was the time that I had put aside just to play…

Never had any connection errors like this ever since I got the game almost 3 years ago. Since patching last night, I closed it and then it decided I had to repair when I reopened it, played for 2 hours or so after that, went to bed and I wake up to “Connection error(s) detected…” This patch is seriously toxic…
The same for me, worked fine after the update, but today on starting I get the error ’Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…"

Jep, same here, i cant connect at all to the game server, the splashscreen before i log in gives an error for me. Hope it’s quickly resolved. I know people are working on it

When it’s not the ISP ikittent’s the actual game servers. Well good thing we still got steam and blizzard.
Yes, I’ve got the “Connection error(s) detected. Retrying…” message too, here in England, switching on this morning. I did hope that switching off my anti-virus would solve it, but no such luck.

quite doubtful, this isnt an issue on your end, it is a server malfunction for authentication. Once we get a solution from the tech team im sure youll be fine

Same here. I get off at 1am and get home a little after 1:30am and this game is my time killer until I go to bed at 6am :’(.
Also experiencing the same issue with GW2 on 2 separate computers. Am in the UK. My internet is fine tested it out with other apps and a check with my ISP to make sure. Only GW2 will not connect.

i will ask anet, if they dont fix this today to give me my daily reward provisioner tokens and a random ascended chest from fractals since i got 5 in last 5 days xD

Me too.. Man i thought i was the only one having this issue.. It worked fine yesterday after the update then this morning i try to log in for the first time and boom “connection error detected retrying” everytime.. Tried everything then decided to write on forum..
As a workaround, try launching with:
Gw2.exe -assetsrv 64.25.41.2
(the CDN is down and this is ArenaNet’s server)
