FAQ: Gem Store / BLTC / Trading Post
YES I even tried changing my UI size and my resolution nothing helped.
I also did the -repair, once again no results.
Attached is a screenshot of the trading post but the gem store looks the same with black text…ect
today the trading post looked and worked perfectly fine and now tonight it looks exactly the same.. a big mess.
Fixed my problem, I installed new graphics drivers then when the game was running I right clicked the awesome_ something process (the trading post process) and hit open file location, exited guild wars 2 then deleted all of the files and folders in that location.
Once I started up guild wars 2 again everything was fixed. Hope this helps since the Devs never got back to me.
Oh they are probably very aware, just don’t know what to do with it I suppose. It’s very annoying that apparently you can get flagged, without knowing why, and without actually having bought anything except the game… ?
Edit: I just don’t understand why it has to be THIS hard just to use a buying service in your game. I’ve never ever experienced this much trouble with just buying something, and I’ve played quite some games.

I paid 125 gems for 5 transmutation stones that i never received. Not many details to report. I:
1) pulled up the gem store.
2) went to collectibles.
3) right at the top were the stones.
4) i pressed the gem sign next to the qty.
5) pressed confirm
6) gems were deducted
7) nothing after that. no mail. no pickup. nothing.
8) :-(
Please refund or send them to me.
I purchased 500 gems because I liked the way a armor set looked on my thief, once I received it I noticed I couldn’t equip it because it was heavy armor (yet you allowed me a preview of what it would look like on my character, very misleading) – so I created a warrior so I could get some use out of the armor and absolutely hate it compared to my thief. I’m very unhappy about it, feel mislead and would like refund for the 500gems or at least the ability to trade the armor I purchased for the correct set.
I also think you shouldn’t allow a preview of certain armor sets equipped to characters if they can’t equip it.
Still can’t buy gems. I actually couldn’t even preorder this game via the website back in beta because of this issue so I waited for release and bought it at WalMart.
Yesterday I got an email from “Guild Wars 2 Support” directing me to a website asking me to Finish Account Creation and ask me to use enter and verify a password… odd I did this last week and I obviously can post. Not sure if this is phishing, or what. Here is part of the addy…

I don’t feel like opening up a ticket for an issues that is still apparently not being worked on. I do wish I could buy more bag space and open up more character slots. Is there any new updates on this? Called my cc’s and they say it’s not on their end. Would at least like to know whats going on. Thanks :/
The trading post still isnt working at all for me, hasn’t worked even once since i started playing. its just the background and the golden ring icon indicating its loading. I can keep it up for hours and it still doesnt load.
Ever since launch day I have no been able to use any of my credit cards to purchase gems on the black lion trade post. I just want to give you my money, so you can continue making more content for this awesome game.

This is NOT correct. Most of us have not been assisted AT ALL with this issue. Most of us have not even been contacted by ArenaNet about the issue.
So i finally found out you can buy Gems with gold, so i trade 81 silver for 301 gems to buy the minipets. it took a while to receive the gems but got them after a few minutes. now i tried to purchase the minipet set of 300 gems and it distracted 300 gems so i had 1 gem left but it never showed up in my mail ( i got a notification about the gems store items getting tranfered through the mail though! ) after a day there is still nothing ( I cleaned out my mail before i bought it so it couldn’t be full in any way ! )
Hopes this get fixed ASAP!

Thats my support ticket. I’m able to buy gems but just recently, I am NO LONGER receiving my items by the game mail.
Did not have any problems before until this week.
I will NOT be buying anymore gems until this issue is resolved.

All i want to do IS SPEND MY MONEY, this is getting frustrating and making the game lose its spark for me. Great game, LOVE it, it is flawed in this fact only, and since day one it has had this flaw unresolved, its starting to bother me.

I also cannot buy gems, which I believe is the result of my account being flagged by the gem store after I purchased multiple gems the other day.
Would love it for my account to be unflagged so I can purchase gems again – still getting the “Credit card approval failed” message.

I completely agree. I have pleaded in PMs to the ArenaNet staff to provide us with something and all we have gotten is silence. I have contacted ArenaNet’s CEO directly on this issue. I am hopeful we will finally see decisive action on this.
It wouldn’t be so annoying if the bank space wasn’t so painfully small. I also always level multiple characters so believe it or not, 5 character slots just isn’t enough.
And I see a lot of money sinks in the game already so exchanging gold for gems isn’t a great option for me at this time. Probably not even in the close future.
I’m guessing your Fraud Management System flagged my account for Fraud because of the continuous high dollar amount purchases I was trying to make while the Gem Store was broken last week. Yay!

Sure. Those people certainly were:
- Americans, so they were able to snatch the best names a few minutes before Europeans could log in
- Not guild leaders, so they wouldn’t be cut off from their own guild for the first 3 days
- Or actually unguilded, so they wouldn’t mind that pretty much every guild feature would not work in the first week
- Not very sociable, so that not being able to group would not bother themA lot of people actually. I would really use the word PERFECT here. Since perfect could not be any better. Really fitting to describe GW2’s launch.

I played wih my gf and we barely had issues grouping up and so on,seriously you havent played many headstarts.Also if your idea of a fail launch is when you cant play with ur lil buddies and pick the “perfect” name for a few days u better quit now.
I submitted a bug report during one of the stress test and when the 3 day head start started in game.
I do not want to be accused of exploiting.
I purchased Gems during last beta, traded for 3 slots putting me to 8 slots, then in one of the stress tests I had my Gems back and only 5 slots so I traded for 3 slots but it gave me 6 putting me at 11 slots. So when the 3 day head started began I had 5 slots and my gems again, I traded for 3 slots and now I have 14. Should have 8 and only should be charged for Gems once. If you want me to keep them to make life easier for you, I am good with that.
4 days and still no reply.
No refund yet on the 2000 gems that got eaten.
Still looks like DDE owners can select the completely broken and utterly useless DDE upgrade by accident.

Can not buy GEMS. I would like to ask to be taken off your added secuirty system I as a customer am comfortable with paypal and my credit cards already available secuirty features which protects me as a cutomer.

This is ridiculous how many problems are going on with this game. It’s making me want to quit the game to be honest.
I removed my Model Router so I was directly connected to the cable modem and I was able to buy Gems! Good Luck!

Hoping to see a resolution to this soon, as there’s now another “The Legend of Rage” up for sale at 150% the price of the original one & sickeningly enough, I’m still willing to buy it…….. unfortunately, the gem store is still just a giant facepalm for me, so I’ll undoubtedly miss out on this one as well.
Despite the hundredsss I’ve spent already & the countless others I’ve attempted to spend—I’m hoping this lack of service will break me of my spending habit lol.

I’ve been using the gem store pretty frequently… and even more frequently I get Card Failure messages… is this a service availability issue or some sort of throttle that’s put on gem store usage?
I’ve attempted to use multiple payment methods in the gem store, and it pretty consistently fails to process the order/payment—I’m fairly certain it’s not an issue with any of my cards as I have never experienced this with any other game that offered in-game purchase options…
I missed an opportunity to buy the first “Legend of Rage” I’ve seen so far due to this lack of service… Hopefully this can be resolved immediately so this doesn’t happen again?

Please address this issue! I submitted a ticket on 8/30 and still haven’t even received the courtesy of a response. I have NEVER had a company so reluctant to TAKE my money.
I have seen others posting here with my same issue. I am unable to purchase Gems from the Gem store with my credit card. I use it frequently so I know it’s good. But with the Gem store I get a Validation Failed message. Curiously I did receive a reply from support but I think it’s either automated or the support person didn’t read the entire support statement I provided. Support advised that I get my game serial code and try again. After research I discovered that others were having game serial code validation failures. I replied to the support reply that game serial code registration failures was not my issue, that credit card validation was my issue. I received another reply very quickly advising that I use my game’s serial code and try again. I replied yet again with my real issue and have not heard back yet. I have used NCSoft/Anet support before and have always been satisfied so I’m counting this issue as being over worked, overwhelmed, and third times a charm, I hope.

“Card approval failed” It happens instantly, bank states no attempts at charges have even been made. I used this card to buy Guild Wars 2 from this site so it’s obviously in good order.
Have tried on a few different occasions.
Ticket filed on 8/27/2012, ticket has been replied to a few different times.
Bought a copy for my wife, myself, and apparently having Aion and City of Heroes on different accounts might have broken me from being able to buy gems, and according to my ticket they won’t release me or let me purchase. Although I’m not sure if that’s correct or not since the error they say I should be getting is not what I’m getting, and non of the responses to my ticket have flat out said that was the issue. Never had a problem trying to give away money before. First time for everything

Hello, I bought 4000 gems yesterday, think it was after 12PM. The payment for the gems have gone out of my bank account, but the gems have not arrived yet. Is this some sort of fault on ArenaNet’s side or is it a bug?
