I agree that the idea of giving a chest to everyone, perhaps as the horns were done for halloween, would be helpful. The constant lag, D/Cs and inability to log on due to server side issues really made it a mess. At the same time even that solution would probably cause more complaints from some. I personally don’t care if someone else got multiple chests I simply would like one also because I tried to participate and couldn’t with the above mentioned issues. Thanks for taking the time to respond to our questions and concerns here Gaile, it’s truly appreciated.

But please be sure your mailbox on your account is empty so you can receive the chest. In a few cases, it might be queued up but unable to slip into the box because it’s full.

All my characters mail boxes are clean and no Karka Box so far, I am a little worried that I will not get anything for the effort that I put in. I understand that you do not want every one to get the box should I just contact support?

Same question here as Loopy. Makes me sad that I haven’t gotten it yet but I still have faith.

I am glad a solution is found, but I am also getting worried that alot of people that has participated won’t get that “mail”.

Also, please note : boosting pre-legend during an event is not a good idea… Especialy if you can get “nothing” or “everything and even more…”

I am actually quite angry now, Anet, when I read that some people are now receiving a 2nd chest, or they have one and they didnt even take part in the event, if these posts are true, tell me how is this fair, and what planet are you on?? How dare you tell me that I dont meet the criteria, and then give chests out to these people. Seriously, Anet…

Well I didn’t receive my karka box, I attempted to do this event twice with both ending in DC’ing. I am noticing on reddit people who were not even at the event getting chests and people who looted the chest on all alts getting the mail with a karka chest. This is really frustrating and I hope we do not have to wait 3 weeks for another answer about this. This event is probably the worst event I ever participated in on a MMO.

I feel bad for the position that the support reps have been put in – what should have been a clear PR win by restoring rewards to those who were initially denied them, a thoughtful effort to do right by the customer, has instead become yet another source of criticism. Just as with the initial event, it seems the devs’ hearts were in the right place (let’s create something fun and memorable/let’s fix a problem that our system caused), yet the technical execution was once again lacking. I think it’s worth a moment to say thanks to the support people for your hard work, and that we recognize that you were not the cause of these problems even if you have to deal with the brunt of the anger over them.

I would just to thank the people who are coming into this thread and saying, we already got a loot chest and we still got mail. This proves that there are issues with the script, so there is hope for the people who have received messages saying “they are not eligible”. It’s great to see the community coming in like this. Thanks.

I also attended the final event, didn’t get to loot a chest and haven’t received a chest in the mail yet.

What is weird however is that every time I log into the game now, my mailbox window pops up. The mailbox is empty (it always is normally, because I delete every mail right after reading it) – but maybe this has something to do with the mailbox bug?

I’m glad you’re sorting out the mistakes (if any!) on the script that left out deserving people from getting a chest. I’m disappointed because this was an opportunity to say anyone that participated in the event (any phase!) to get the unique piece and the 20-slot bag. Sending out a chest with all the loot was fabulous but unfortunately left out some people and those who couldn’t attend the final event are completely excluded. I too think those that “didn’t even login and got a chest” are nothing but false claims or they actually where logged in during the event but didn’t realize it and didn’t go near the event zone.

So the 20-slot for all would be nice but oh well it is too late for that. I’m sadly left out with no chest, no loot, no bag, etc. but don’t worry… I’m still addicted to GW2 anyway so you’ll be seeing me around for a long time.

Haven’t received an in-game mail.

Completed most of the Phase 1 and 2 quests (where able, due to bugs), also did some of the events in Southsun Cove on the Sunday. Was completely unable to log in and participate in the Ancient Karka fight, not through lack of trying.

As I pessimistically predicted, targeting people who were able to participate partly in the Ancient Karka event still leaves out people like me.

How exactly were the names chosen? I mean the ones that you sent over? I’ve sent a ticket about this so I hope that counts. Thank you for responding to this.

I have already posted once, but on reflection I would like to add some other points.

First and foremost: Fair play and sterling job by Gaile Gray. It’s actually quite (lack of better term) “nice” to see a Support Liaison responding to pretty much everything with a positive attitude.. Keep going ;-)

Second: Yes I am one of the people who had massive issues on the final event. I participated in everything right up to the finale, and the only reason I wasn’t there was due to mad server lag and sheer inability to play: Being told I am running into a wall even though it looked (to me) like i was shooting a Karka..! It was just impossible for me to play the game, even with settings dropped right down…

However: Am I annoyed that (so far) I have received nothing? Of course I am. I put in the time, attended the events to the best of my ability and was rewarded with a disconnect, massive lag on a scale I have never seen and the frustration of (what felt to me) an utter waste of time..

I am not sure if the people who posted that they didn’t attend at all and still got a Karka mail (nice ring to it) is true or not and quite frankly I really don’t care that much. What does bother me is (as has been stated) that people who attended, got the loot and actually finished the event got one… This in itself is not that bad, but the comment of “we won’t be taking them back” just makes me realize how wrong this “clean-up” has gone: They should never have got a second chest at all.

I read somewhere that come Monday morning this will basically be pushed under the rug and forgotten about due to the Winters Day content!? Whoever said this: Your probably right, but at the end of the day what we all have to remember is: We have no subscription, the cash shop is not in any way game breaking and is fully voluntary… We bought the game and we pay if we want to.

I just hope that the people who put time into the event are not forgotten..! After all: If they were able to do stage one and the rest of it, why would they miss the finale if they could help it!?

I’m sure the names sent over, were names of people to investigate regarding the script to see what happened.

I would like to agree with this comment I’m so disappointed that some people got the chance to ear pre-curser weapons and not event attend the event however, I attended every event and yet I haven’t been rewarded just because I died and then tried to travel to a way point and my game froze at the very last part of the event it’s so unfair.

To me it seems like most of the people who received a chest from the original event have received a second one in the mail, the way I found out this even happened was on these forums otherwise I was unaware anything was being done to compensate people for their wasted time and the cost of constantly dying due to server issues and a poor event overall.

I was gutted I didn’t get to loot the chest at the end of the final event due to spending hours on it :/ and when the amazing loot was aired even more so.

Hearing the solution mainly (seemingly from the forums) doubles the reward I didn’t get for anyone who was lucky enough to loot the chest and possibly rewards people not even at the event is a second slap in the face.

At the time I didn’t think to take a screenshot to prove I took part and only have the guff from the scavenger hunt. Hopefully I’ll receives something for my time, I’ve only logged in to check for the chest due to bugs with chat and party/guild prevent me playing with others currently (sent a ticket, its being worked on). So basically I’m waiting for a fix and to see if I get a chest… not very fun at the moment

Tell them to post here, then Anet would have their user ID to investigate.

But then, of course, they would likely be worried about the Devs investigating and calling them out for lying.

I had a guildie who did the Karka Event 4 times and got the chest 3 times and disconnected on his 4th alt, and received a chest in the mail.

I understand your busy and may have overlooked these 3 threads on the forum so i did this for you.

Personally if this isnt proof that people who didnt attend the event and were either ingame doing something else or were offline altogethera nd still recieved the chest then i am not sure what else you need hahaha.

Either way if you consider that this is a basically a snap shot and the millions of players who dont use the forums some of them had the same “luck” then you need to consider the fact that either way the script was a complete failure

You also need to consider how your going to have to resolve this to make it “fair” for all

How many examples do you need before you “have proof” i honestly cant believe you struggled to find these posts that are everywhere :P

Just to clarify – and I fear the answer will not be good – is “logging into the event at any time” your sole criteria? I did not log into the event at any time, because I couldn’t. I tried, for hours, after working on all 3 phases over the weekend.

So, if this is your primary criteria, am I going to be missing out on a chest just because the login servers didn’t let me in at all, instead of letting me in for a while then kicking me out? Because I feel I got the rougher end of the deal (not experiencing the event at all), so not being compensated like the people who did get to see it would be a further kick in the teeth. One that would (drama alert, but I’m just being honest) genuinely affect the way I feel about this game and my desire to invest more time in it.

I think it’s safe to say to “Never” do a one time event where there’s a chance you can instantly get rich. This is the main reason why this was a big deal. I don’t think it would have been a big deal if the reward wasn’t this big. If some people gets the chance to become instantly rich, others would want to get the same chance. This is an MMO after all. The playing field should be leveled equally.

My daughter account got a chest and she never even set foot anywhere near anything during the event.

I tried but could not log into LA. I got nothing..

It would have been so much easier to have given a “loot mail” to all of your loyal players who had an active account before the Lost Shores event started. All this would have been sorted by now, and everyone would have loved ANet again. There would be none of I didn’t get a chest lark and everyone would be happy. Just my 2 cents.

I really don’t mind people getting the reward several times. Honestly don’t feel bad about that. What I feel bad about is all the people who participated on some level, or tried to, and who still hasn’t got any reward at all.

The latter includes my husband and I, and we even have a screen dump that shows us participating in the final event chain.

Now that part really gets to me, despite trying my very best to stay positive and loyal.

I’ve known you for years (GW1 Ascalon gatherings, good days) and I am honestly so disappointed at your approach on this. Despite your commendable effort in soothing the community, this has to go on a “how not to do customer care” manual somewhere.

You are basically saying that so many people will wrongfully get an extra chest while others (and I don’t mean the ones with disconnecting issues, who have to yell to get what it’s due) will finish the event empty handed.

Every other MMO company has seen itself in this situation and has done the right thing. Please, please, please stop alienating your fan base and do the right thing too.

This is very disappointing. Called in sick to work, and stayed up most of the night(Aussie) to do the event, only to DC in a massive group of people on one of the many overflow servers shortly before it started. Tried getting back on for over and hour to no avail.

As I couldn’t get online, and therefore wasn’t online for the event I will not receive a chest, yet a few friends and guildies who either logged on for a tiny time frame to pick up mail, or do dungeons have all received a chest despite never even attempting to do any lost shore event.

Feeling a bit jaded at the moment.

Now I understand that everything I have to say just sounds like whining compared to the people who got disconnected during the event. I’m curious what the time window is for taking part in the event. I was on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday up until the event started, then I had to go to work. I log back in at 12:30am Central time and I found out how much more stuff was given out on the Sunday event compared to the other days. I was annoyed about not getting the Karka box, but I understand that’s how some things work. Then I hear about people getting stuff in the mail, but i never received anything. My roommate who didn’t log in for any of the events until 9:30pm central time on Sunday, gets a Karka box in the mail for logging in to check out the new map.

So, is there a cut off time somewhere between those hours, and I was just a couple hours to late? or could I have been sent something, but something was glitched.

PS. not upset with Anet, just want to make a point that a lot of people on here are looking for the fine line and like me, are spending time browsing through forums after forums looking for answers just wondering if they should go back to playing the game or keep looking for answers.

It’s a valid point, lets face it, its to late for them to do anything now they will eventually bite the bullet and roll out the chest to all active accounts on that weekend. i can’t see another option for them unless they remove the loot from the people that acidentally got the chest, which they said they wont do. they have a morale obligation to make the game fair to all. this event and script has skewed that.

the down side is that it will dilute the market with some extra pre cursers and effect the trading post for a little while. however saying that i read somewhere that they wanted to reduce the price/rarity of precursers so technically there killing 2 birds with one stone

oceanic player here. i played on the friday could not complete the quest due to bugs.
played saturdays , same thing bugged
your sunday event was well into my Monday work day and was over when I got home.
all the bugs to the previous days where fixed and over with while I slept

So no chest in mail here and very disappointed with this whole fiasco of an event and like alot of Oceanic players feel very discriminated against by this whole drama.

Would be a nice Idea for you Gaile to jump across into the main discussion forum and respond to the threads that Mike has spoken in or even started but hasn’t even given one answer to any of the complaints that are now raging , not many ppl know this thread is here and probable won’t come looking for it when a Dev has already respond once in that thread and are awaiting some answers.

In Guild Wars you allways took more time then anyone else to respond to this community which I thank you kindly for your time here, your counterparts should take some serous lessons from you in customer relations as you are without doubt the heart and sole of anet for alot of us .

Gaile, yesterday you told us to wait until today and submit tickets if we didn’t get a chest in the mail but feel we should.

Now, I’ve just read your post that tells us your people are still looking into the issue of people not receiving anything. Should we wait for the results of that, or file our tickets anyway so our circumstances can perhaps be taken into account as part of that investigation?
