Karka Chest Distribution [merged]
I didn’t get a chest in the mail, but as I did manage to get the reward the first time around, I guess I shouldn’t complain.
Still havn’t gotten a chest, disconnected from an overflow when we were moving the luring the kraka/fighting reinforcements.
Just poking into the thread to remind you that it will be a few days until you get a response, but we will carefully review each ticket (one ticket per player, please ) and an agent will get back to you this week. (When I say “this week” I don’t necessarily mean “by the end of the week” but I do want to give the team members time to address the tickets and would not want someone expect an immediate reply on Monday morning.)

im not realy sure if i should mention this becouse i will probablly regret it.
i was there at the karka event and i also got the rewards that day, yay 20 slot karka box, ancient karka shell, 2x exotic, 2x rare, yippie kaye!
i got a chest by mail containing all these items again xD
salvaged the rare’s didnt even get ecto’s -.- the 2 ancient karka shells are on the bank becouse they dont meat my build, im using 2x 20 slot karka boxes and i sold the 2 exotics. zho’s coat and a bow with their value together about 2-3 gold.
I’m simply explaining why I’m right.
I’m really glad we have Gaile in here, I absolutely salute her patience and openness. I’d probably already have gone mad and banned everybody. Although I understand people want to be rewarded for their participation in the event, this is going way too far, this thread alone is so full of greed and envy, it’s a shame. Maybe some people will read their posts in this thread after some time has passed and actually feel ashamed. I looted the original chest after killing the ancient Karka and just check this thread out of curiosity, and I’m quite baffled by the ungrateful behaviour of parts of the community. ArenaNet put on an event which all but excluded at least two continents worth of customers, as well as severely limiting a further continent. They then gave out prizes in that event which were equivalent to several weeks of grinding at minimum, and in some cases, up to a years worth. In attempting to resolve this issue, they then proceeded to ignore those customers again and the resulting fix, whilst improving the situation for some, made the disparity even worse for the fans who were unable to attend the event due to their location/jobs/other life commitments.
I appreciate all that Gaile has done, and am impressed that ANet have put in time to at least partially resolve the issue, but it is unreasonable not to allow for some paying customers to feel like their concerns have been ignored.
I never received a chest, and I got a DC. Upset, my support ticket says I didn’t qualify? My guild mates who didn’t even attend, didn’t even log on for weeks after the fact got cheats. How did you even decide who gets one?

Anyway. Filed a ticket. Waiting on reply. Gaile says wait till the end of the week. I’ll keep waiting. General, I’d say since that message was sent out en masse, if you DC’d, you should appeal the ticket by replying politely and asking them to look again. And then wait, like me

The website support Ask a Question seems as good a place as any, though I don’t know if any method is preferred.

As others have said, try to keep it polite. The support team has always been helpful in my opinion.
You might be tempted to go nuclear if you get a quickie “You don’t qualify, please leave feedback” reply. Take it from personal experience and don’t go this route.

Was perusing GWGuru thread that started out thanking Anet for following up with the chests for those of us who participated but did not partake, and somebody said why have such a thread on GWGuru, why not on the official forum, so I cruised over here, but could not find any such posts. In any event, thank you, Anet, for sending me a chest in my Inbox. No, no precursors, but I was really bummed when I mashed keys for two-and-a-half hours, but then died toward the end of the event, waypointed out and slogged back, only to find that the chest had spawned — and vaporized — by the time I got back. Really bummed. But then I got that good news in my Inbox and that little flower that shriveled up inside me blossomed forth in full glory once more. That must have taken incredibly much work on the part of somebod(ies) and I just want you to know how incredibly much I appreciate it.

Thanks to the ANet Support team After my ticket was reviewed (initially sent on the 6th), I received my chest in the mail about 20 minutes ago.

Okay, first of all my thanks to ANet and Gaile for all of the help that they have provided. I received my chest this morning.
To those who haven’t received one, it took two days for my ticket to be reviewed, they are obviously extremely busy. Also my girlfriend, who was in exactly the same position as me, was sent a reply saying she did not qualify and is thus continuing the discussion with ANet.
My sympathies go to those who were unable to participate in the event for whatever reason, in particular those outside of North America. All I can say is that patience may pay off, and thank you again to ANet.

Wow, I was very surprised when I got my chest reward. Considering I didn’t fully fill in on the requirements to get one, I thought it was very generous of you guys to take me into consideration due to my story in the ticket sent. Was not expecting that at all!

Funny thing from their reply to you is that they didn’t even mention not being able to log in due to our fault.
Also, he never mentioned that some people who didn’t even log in during the event got a chest (look at he posts above). Seems like you got a support that doesn’t know the current issue or was kept in the dark by devs.
Lastly, imo, you should get the chest. It’s their fault after all for wrongfully banning/suspending you.

Guys quick question about posting a ticket.
I’ve been sending an in-game ‘report a bug’ ticket named ‘Missing Karka Chest’. Will that do the thing or I should have used the other support link to get my account reviewed? The ticket has been sent on sunday night so I hope it was the right way to report my problem.
This is not a bug, and using the in-game system will not function properly. You can contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you. For tips on what information to provide in a ticket, please read this post.

Anet wrongly terminated my account for 6 days and I did not get to play the event; I did not do anything wrong and after review I receive my account back . No chest for me – this is what the e-mail for Anet said:

Gaile, i’m sorry to bother, but could i have an info regarding eligibility?
I did the event, got disconnected in the final phases, but was able to log in again, do another event with the same char (in another overflow) and finish that, thus getting a chest. Since in the end i was able to get the chest (even if i had to redo a part of the event) that makes me not eligible, right? Cause i didn’t even mention that to the support, since i got a chest after all (even if i had to put a bit more effort).
Whereas, if i logged with another char the second time, i would probably be flagged as eligible by the script due to the disconnection (seeing as other people got a chest from support even if they looted the chest, that means that having already looted it with one char wasn’t something that made people non-eligible).
(i could have called support about this, but it would have been a waste of time for them if my assumption about eligibility was wrong; plus, this info could be useful to other people as well)

Hi, I didn’t participate on the Karka’s event, I logged on that day when the event had already finished but today I logged to the game and I had a mail with an Anciant Karka Chest, I opened the chest but I haven’t used the items. What should I do with the items?
So can I get a response on my friends, who attended multiple events and then received mail and another reward or my friend who didnt log in for a week around the event and still got a reward? I feel this is highly unfair.

Well I think a great job has been done by Gaile, I did put in a support ticket and received a chest in the mail which was a huge surprise indeed.
As any of you that have followed my posts would know I didn’t do the final event due to the timing, however I did participate as much as one could with both day 1 and 2’s event’s .So it would seam that the support team is taking into account every aspect of our complaints and is being really generous, with this they have certainly proved that they do care immensely about us players and the problems that have surrounded this event.

So, I just got my reply to my support ticket which essentially says too bad, no Karka chest for being in a timezone unable to attend the event.
Pretty much unacceptable when several of my guild members (who attended less of the 3 days than I did) got mailed chests and there are people in this very forum who did not attend the event and stating they received a chest (or got multiple chests). I’m also uninterested in any excuses about scripts or database mining or such.
At this point I am just assuming it depends if you get a friendly or vindictive ticket handler or they are just pulling results out of a hat. Your customer relationship/marketing manager should be all over your devs like stink on a monkey because they clearly don’t understand the whole “alienate the customer who pays the bill” issue.
You know why I’m feeling alienated? The perception of fairness, but you knew that already yes? If there had been no restitution program or one that genuinely only made good to true attendees I would have no problem with it. Now, however, given the mess of who got what, any sane corporation who valued its customers would just go for keeping them happy and say “You know what it was a mess, we’re giving a chest to everyone”. Because the US dude standing in line behind me who couldn’t attend due to his job has just as valid an argument as I do.
Lets put it in terms your corporate people should understand. Your irrational desire to withhold a bunch of free electrons is causing me to want to irrationally withhold my actual real life dollars from your gem store.

Totally agree! The one time event was totally ridiculous. It was biased and honestly, only North America and Europe could really participate in it due to the times. And your point regarding the karka chest in the mail is right on. Definitely not fair. They should’ve just sent everyone a chest since their criteria seems very inconsistent.
Any accounts that did not receive the reward already would not have been eligible to receive it.
Say what!!!?? And posts from the staff above states that people should contact support if they feel like they should’ve gotten the chest and then this support guy says this? So what’s the point of contacting support? Seems like no communication is going on within the team(doubt that “team” is even the appropriate word at this point).

I really dont know what else to do, 3 days and not a word from anyone.
I’m still waiting… My ticket has not been answered by anything more than a generic automated response. they are saying the comphesation was for people who only dced during event like me but I have guildies, more than one that did not even show up that got the chest. Didn’t even know what it was for. I at least would like to be responded to in a decent time frame and not a generic copy paste msg.
Did I mention its been weeks?
