Time Around 8 a clock PM Romania time.
Very bad lag and disconnect very often, but only in map “Snowden Drifts” for the moment. When I played in map “Wayfarer Foothills” I didn’t experience any lag, everything was OK.
Issue: Login server is down (currently going on an hour at the time of this post). This, along with periods of major lag and dc’s, has been going on since the Echoes of the Past release.
Location: Sweden, Europe.
Server: Far Shiverpeaks.
Interesting. My issue yesterday resolved itself after about 90 minutes. Today, the same issues came back at the same exact time, just after 19:00 my time. Login server has been down for 50 minutes now. Error: 42:0:9001:4409.
64.25.47.xxx — This is the IP range I am consistently getting routed through when trying to log in, all either not connecting or giving me such a slow connection I can’t do anything but restart the client to get a new IP.
206.127.159.xxx are the additional servers I connect to whenever the login attempts are successful.
Hope that info helps somewhat at least. It’s kinda annoying being forced to play an MMO like a single-player game because the servers are down during primetime when there’s actually people to play with.
ping to 206.127.159.xxx returns low latency and few percent packet loss (through CMD), yet in game it’s 5 seconds lag and DC with black/white screen of death. Login servers are extremely slow, but sometimes (1 out of 5 attempts) it’s possible to log in. But not for long, game usually freezes on loading screen.
tracert attached, every hop looks alright with 23ms delay.
I have to say that since about 2 months WvW is unplayable for me. I got random disconnects or there are lags spikes. That not happens so much in Edge of the Mists.
Not happens in PvE at all. However, sometimes where a lot of ppl playing (like now, after release of new content and it’s weekend) I cannot even load a map.
I’ve had huge problems staying in and logging in to the game for the last few evenings. I get disconnects and sometimes I won’t even get past the loader. Also experience heavy lag if I happen to get in.

This game is now totally unplayable. I get DC from many zones. I cant even go to the personal quest waypoint… WvW is mess… everyone is killing me, I can just move and dodge, but for server I’m still in one position…………
Its sunday morning 11 a.m. and game is unplayable terrible lags and after this disconnects in 5 min! Its not first time on weekend why some ppl are better and can play without problems and others are throwing out?
I think some kind of miracle happened. Tonight at Tequatl, I was getting no massive latency, and was able to participate with attacking Tequatl and the tendrils directly with just a mere 300ms.
Hope that lasts for long.
Add: If you’re wondering, I’m playing from Qatar… at least for the next two months. It’s been 24 hours now and there is no more connection degradation or lost/queued data packets. Much thanks!
So lag stroke me today around 18.20 same time as yesterday. It gave up around 23.45 (GMT+1). Ive kept doing pathping -4 -q 100 to IP I know was LA I have 4 files
LAG (20.38 22.23 23.10) and NOLAG (23.52) that shows exactly same trace to that IP. The difference on paper is around 10ms in latency and sometimes 1% in packets lost (marginal I would say) difference in game was lag(10+ sec)/d-c to no-lag at all
since I cant put multiple files I copy paste them to one
I did try GW2 -clientport 80 but that didnt help
I have not had any bigger problems in the past weeks (I need to say that I am playing not very often lately) except some skill lag here and there but that has not been so much of a big deal for me yet.
Now I am sitting here, trying to login for about 20min but I am unable to. Client can’t “reach” login servers (Error 42:0:9001:4409), although when I am pinging the server the client is connected to (64.25.47.122) I am getting about 40ms.

About 30min after, I finally came through to the login screen. Even the friendlist takes about 30sec to load/update to show friends online. After some time I picked my character, I eventually landed in Lion’s Arch, were the game runs perfectly fine…
again it’s 8 p.m. GMT and all I can do (if somehow map loads after few mins) is chat
I was playing WvW at night – no lag
I was doing dungeons and some PvE content at morning, afternoon – no lag
evening – can’t play at all

Continous lag followed by disconnect. Worked fine from 18:00 to 21:00 GMT+2. We would like someone to explain why this isn’t fixed by now. I recently bought another copy for my girlfriend and obviously we can’t play! We feel robbed!

I’m in Silverwastes at the moment, collecting coins. Lag suddenly started again, didn’t receive damage after falling, skills didn’t work, the usual stuff. Got disconnected after a few minutes. The lag disappeared for a few minutes but I suddenly died at one point and couldn’t waypoint back. Then another disconnection. Can’t even load back into the game from character selection now. It just loads forever meaning it can’t connect to the world. As always, everything else seems to be working just fine, no problems whatsoever.

Got into the game for a few minutes and it was working fine. Now I’m stuck again, nothing is working but the guild chat. At least I can chat until I’m disconnected from the game which will probably happen any moment now.
When exactly is this getting fixed???
After the Patch on november 19 i can’t play this game?
From around 19:00 to 23 GMT+2 I can’t log in or If I manage to enter the game the lag is huge and I get disconected.
And the lag comes back, punctual as always… I’ve tried to send a ticket, as they’ve always been so fast and good… Let’s hope they’ll be able to tell me they’re working on it
This just shows how unproffesional ANET can be. Even if they’re doin smth. They throw some ‘nice words’ every month to make ppl believe. But as long as they’re gettin profits I doubt anything will be done, couse it’ll eat 2 much mny for them.

Just make the kittenin path different 2 ur servers via launcher. It’s easy as kitten to do so.

Several people in this thread have pingpaths that show bad routes while some others have shown symptoms of throttling. Gaile’s recent response didn’t acknowledge this at all and instead implied that it was a problem with their servers. When people have confirmed that they could use an alternate method of accessing the internet to access the game without lag compared to their main line, it’s probably not a problem with the game and as such, they really can’t fix it.

Using programs like WTfast or other VPNs makes the lag dissapear. That means the path to the servs are at the bad things for many ppl. And it can be fixed via launcher. It’s not smth new in MMO history, yet other companies had no real probs with it.
The thing is, not every1 knows how to use such things.

Well, during lag and drop connection i test my connection with speedtest.net with 18 ms, 20 MBit and 10 MBit its really unbelieveble…. :/

Massive lagspikes even when my connection is perfect. Playing is impossible in any way and I get disconnected many consecutive times. World events are absolutely impossible to complete, my character can stand in the same place for even 2 or 3 minutes (sometimes even more). Often I can see other people running around but I cannot interact with them
ArenaNet can’t just advertise a 3rd party VPN service. It would just make a bigger problem since they would basically be telling people to pay a subscription.
There’s two reasons why a VPN could solve your lag issues. Depending on the VPN server’s location, it would be like taking a detour, allowing you to potentially bypass a bad hop. The other reason is to encrypt your traffic, which allows you to evade throttling and any other monitors. Unlike a bad hop, throttling can’t be detected by tracerts/pings.
We all have a problem with lag during the same hours (18-22+ in Poland), regardless of what European country they come from. Anet, what are you doing there in these times? Downloading a porno?
