I have time to play in the evenings. But no hope of getting in and if I happen to get in only to get disconnected.

2 hours late the game is still terribly lagging (on funny side, game refuses to “logout” because of lost connection ). Ping to the actual IP thru CMD is 23-38ms, ingame lag is 5000-9000ms. Game usually collapses with white screen back to launcher.

In game Lagg fell only on 21.30 – 23.30 so much that i can not play it.
How game feels: well at one point skills not responding evry other player is goin straight on walls (PvE and WvW) after some seconds seems that connection got back and i wake up that im in another location and no one near me but after a couple of seconds again same thing and i end up by beign disconected.
All this Lag start from a month a go until then i had Lag but not so much as now.
Hope they will do something soon i will have to quite playing acctualy i can play it since that is the only time i can afrod to play.

Last week and the previous weeks I had massive lag and frequent disconnects in game. Now I don’t have those issues anymore! Hurray for that! Oh, wait a minute…
This is because I can’t get into the game anymore. Either the game launcher gets stuck before being prompted for the authentication token, or after that I get an error message in the launcher saying that the login server is not available/reachable, or getting stuck on the loading screen.
Why is this taking so long to fix ? It seems I am being forced to play something else as I am tired for waiting for a fix for this issue which seems to be spreading like the plague and affecting more and more people every day, and what’s even worse than this is: there is no frequent feedback from the dev team on this issue.
This is crap i am working for my Dusk and i cant get it becous of the dc and cant log on for 3h sey cant connect to gw or it site every day 20.00(GMT+2) o and it was seism to by fix bit ago but soon as patch day it all the time back it takes 5 -6 days u guys to fixi t but just 1patch to mesh it up

The game has become unplayable in the evenings. It is obvious that game servers hit the performance roof when population is high. This is now like that for two+ weeks, don’t make me regret buying gems >_<

I would like to report super lag happening during the evening in central Europe ( Starting right now and lasting for 3-4 hours).
Seems like my problem is common to all our friends here, and i remember such a situation already manifested itself during the first year of the game.
Last time, even if you rightfully suggested to contact our internet provider, the final solution was up to you ( and it took nearly 1 month).
I hope that i will be able to play again, and i hope that you will be able to communicate with us as fast as you can regarding this issue.

I have had problems with lagg for a while now, it seems to show up when i play in dredgehaunt cliff. After visiting this area i can’t log in or when i’m able to log in i have horrible laggs and need to restart client. If I chose another character the lagg seems to stick and most of the time i give up and play an hour later or so and it works again. It seems to show up in the evenings/afternoon around 15:00-20:00 I had a similar lagg problem in wayfare foothills also. Best of luck I hope you are able to sort it out soon.

Last hour and it continues i have occasional lags, and i cannot log in to game, cause it always dc me after i do. Error says “cannot connect to server” or “error in log in”. I changed password (though i think it has nothing to do with it), i checked my internet connection, reset router to just see, but it is all same.

We’ve been investigating this issue and have something for those affected by latency and disconnect issues to try out.
This should help a good portion of those affected by high traffic times where their traffic might be messed with between your computer and our servers. Traffic between the game client and the game server is extremely time-sensitive. If the the flow is disrupted, the client will receive what is commonly perceived as “skill lag” or in extreme cases have the connection dropped entirely (error 7). Other traffic to/from your computer might seem fine, even if its being throttled.

A number of the IPs listed as showing high lag geolocate to the US. Anyone know why this is?

The solution offered by Billfresit does not work. For 10 seconds i had no lagg when i managed to get ingame and then it came…
Changing the port to 443 may not have any effect, assuming they’re not also applying encryption to the entire game. Just changing the port is assuming that your ISP may not be throttling that specific port. Like port 80 is for HTTP, 443 is for HTTPS traffic.
Personally, when I was affected by throttling in the past, I had to forcibly obtain a new dynamic IP address to stop it. It seemed that once throttling was activated on my connection, it was permanent. I knew what triggered it, so I could basically enable/disable throttling on demand. Not all ISPs are going to use the same type of throttling however and GW2 does use various IPs, though keep this in mind when testing fixes.
Same old thing again this evening with Sonera/Finland, can’t log in, and when I can, it freezes and throws me out. And then the game has the nerve to tell me to check my internet connection! It’s working great for everything except GW2 and even GW2 forums, which are laggy too.
Does not work for me either.
Negative here as well, game went fine whole day, at 22:35 CET it started lagging until it kicked me out. Now it’s unable to log in. Even with -clientport 443 shortcut.
I am now performing pathping test, at this moment game works again after 15 minutes lag-wall-pause… wait a moment…no…. lag is back. Character is still online, but reaction time is about 2 minutes when I wrote “/ip” into map chat.

What the hell is wrong with this game?! Two, TWO months and they didn’t resolved the problem?! I cant even login. What we have paid for?! I just cant wait for blade and souls release, even russian version, it will be playable with english patch.

MASSIVE LAG, totally unplayable.. It takes ~15 seconds to make a hit, with any character. The game client and/or login client lose connection every 15 minutes or even less. I already checked with a couple of friends and they are experiencing the same thing, so it’s not an internet or ISP issue. It’s your servers, optimization or whatever you call it these days, but the point is the game is totally unplayable for the past month and i really expected a fix in these past few patches but since it’s obviously not happening i came here to “contribute”. Please ANet fix this already or buy more servers since this is most probably an over population issue!

Hi Bill,
I don’t quite understand what is causing these connection drops,
but I guess it is Telia or behind as the same errors affect a lot of people in different countries.
Running 2 Computers behind 1 Router and all other games we play are fine.
It is just Guild Wars 2 showing this behaviour.
Game worked perfectly Friday/Saturdayish and the problems started on Sunday
and the game is unplayable for 5 days now.
An update on your troubleshooting progress would be much appreciated.
We tried a bunch of workarounds however the problem description and behaviour stays the same.
(powercycling router, port forwarding, set clientport i.e. to 80 on one computer and 443 on the other)
I dont’t think the issue is related to throttling on ISP side as usually in that case game would not work at all and MMOs usually take throttling into account.
Out of curiousity.. is it related to an influx in active player base?

I get a problem that tells me my guild is currently unifying chapters. Never had this before.. Is this related to the latency issues?
for some reason last time i got lag spikes
the game keep spamming me a message i lost connection but i was still connected !
and it was saying i was not in a party when i was talking in party chat .
while i was repeatedly receiving a error message saying i was not connected less than every minute
the game was just all over the place and did not know up from down-
really seems like lag just keeps getting worse
any other game i play runs fine.
i dont know what to do at this point this is beyond old
Verificus: Yes, that’s the issue we all have. When you’re affected by the lag, you’ll see that in your guild window. (BLTC/TP is offline for me when I have the problem)
