I started the launcher, chose another language, accepted the launcher restart.
The download started once the launcher restarted, closed the launcher, opened the launcher, selected my preferred language and logged in fine.

Someone say game crash must be related to OOM

I´m in now (did the language switching for like 10 times), but I have the same issue as some others. It shows my email instead of my account name next to my nickname in the guild list D:

I was able to fix my login problem by removing the email authentication. I logged in several times in a row without issues. Ive just readded the email authentication to see if it still works. Waiting for the security email to allow my network.

I am from the UK but play on Maguuma the US Server. I can log in its very slow. But once in the Trade Market does not work shows nothing. The Guild Roster does not work just shows me as in in it.

My friends list says there all offline. Yet I am grouped with one of them. But I can not see there avatar when grouped. Also I can not send any Wispers to them as it says Network Error.

My friend is from the US she has no problems so it could be an EU problem ?

a chance in the Spanish language works, it does not have to be downloaded everything. Briefly and then go back to your language then it works. At least for me

Yay, was able to log for about 2hrs and NOW the game crashed and I got the same problem. My sister got kicked the same time as me and she can’t play either. Bleh. Good night, I wish tomorrow has an explanation on what the problem is and why it accured, I’d rather have an answer than it being fixed without knowing what the problem is.

I’ve been trying to log in the game since the 19th at around 10 GMT and still to no avail. This is utterly ridiculous. I uninstalled the game and downloaded another and still i keep getting the same message of reporting the problem to arena net. I’m very disappointed that it takes 3 days almost to fix a problem.

24 hours, 24 pages lates no tech support was seen.
I do hope that they know whats going on and thats why they dont bother to give an update on whats, what. Cant blame them either, not much to do. Clearly too many people playing. Game’s laggy lately, so I guess this was ment to happen eventualy.

25 PAGES complaining about the lack of response from you people about the LOG IN ISSUES ….
Last night it was taking people over an HOUR to log into the game … IF they were lucky. … AND …. the ISSUES ARE STILL THERE NOW.

I managed to log in about an hour ago. A person I was playing with suddenly could not see me, and after he threw a wobbly and relogged himself and the issue STILL persisted, I attempted to relog to fix the bug … and now I CANNOT GET INTO THE GAME … so ergo … your issue STILL PERSISTS and it would appear NOTHING has been done to fix it.

It would REALLY HELP if your Tech Support would keep people updated here as to what is being done to fix the issue and the growing lag that has been in the game since the last FAIL Update at the beginning of February 2013.

As if it were not bad enough they refuse to give the ability for us to have Telephone Support, they even ignore or take their time to respond to eMails and to respond here about this ridiculous problem.

So much easier to just blame us and say “It’s your firewall … It’s your router” instead of fixing an issue which is blatantly and very obviously on their side.

Hah, if you were to go through my posting history, you’d know I’m no suck up (some of my critical threads were even closed down by trigger happy mods).

I cannot log in still. I’m just telling you that phone lines would change nothing when it comes to service interruption, because it’s a server based issue and not something individual.

Telling you they are working on it with some posting update would also change nothing. This is a 20+ page thread — obviously they are aware and keeping track of the situation.

Just don’t expect for updates everytime YOU have a problem. The reason for updates is if they have anything new to say. Apparently they don’t. I’m not telling you to sit idle and enjoy your inability to play — I can’t play either and it pisses me off — just that neither an update or a phone line will do anything. I’d rather they just fix the kitten servers instead.

The servers seemed ok this morning. The issues seemed to start up at about 14:00 … why?

If your servers are unable to cope with traffic once more than 2 people log on … get new ones, and fix the issue.

Well, I just bought and installed the game two days ago and have -never- seen it even run because of this glitch; a bit frustrating to download however many gigabytes of content and not be able to get past the launcher.

no firewall
tried the “switch language” trick and the “delete cache” fix, no joy
