People that exploited getting priority: NOT OK.

And I know that people that KNOWINGLY EXPLOITED have been unbanned already after submitting a ticket.

I totally agree with you. It’s really unfair that the players who exploited the game get priority over us!

I completely agree. If it were me I would have put the Exploit cases to the bottom of the pile, instead they get a slap on the wrist and get bumped to the top of the pile. Meanwhile there are people out there with far greater issues that have to wait longer because of their greed and stupidity. I am in no way referring to myself, I’m quite happy to wait if it means it gets sorted out and people that have hacked accounts get their accounts back sooner.

My issue involves me mistakenly applying my 3 day headstart and retail serial codes to different accounts due to a misunderstanding on my part regarding the application of two codes to a single account.
I applied my 3 day headstart code to Jungo the Nonracist Rappy.5942 and my retail serial to this account, Jungo the Not Racist Rappy.9830.
I would like to request that my retail serial code be transferred to my main account, Jungo the Nonracist Rappy.5942, from Jungo the Not Racist Rappy.9830.
I have enjoyed every minute of playing this game and do not want to lose my progress. Thank you for your time in reading this.

Some @ncjapan players including me did not link together GW1 and GW2 at the time of the purchase of GW2. And we cannot yet obtain HoM.

In this case, although I have entered the CORRECT account name and password of GW1 rightly, it cannot yet link.( the message persists, “A server error has been encountered…,”)

I have the same issue. From Sunday no one responds to my problem. I bought CE for 150eur and can not play due to missupgrade of serial key. As almost all of here, I accidentally created another account(from which I’m writing here now, because original one is suspended and can not log in to forum), the problem is written on ticket #120902-009634.
It’s true as have mentioned above, that the problem solving takes about 5 minutes, not more, but no one does anything about it…
A bought a gameplay, not a bad support team work. I haven’t got any e-mails about how to upgrade account, no info was in physical box, nothing… Not to mention that there weren’t sent to me any info about upgrading at all.

Anyway, for a problem, which solving takes about 5 minutes – I can’t play with my original acc from Sunday!

What kind of support priority from A-net I bought, when spent 150eur?

I would like to start by saying that i pre order the game in the exact day it become avaliable to the public, i ordered the deluxe version and by setting up my account i noticed that i could not use my xxxxx@plaync login from GW1 so i had to use another mail i imediatlly contacted support becouse i wanted to know how to link my GW1 to my GW2 account becouse of this problem, they said it would be fixed at launch. rigth now i didnt play the early acess and im still waiting to get my account linked becouse i want to use my reserve nicks and i cannot use them if my accounts are not linked and i cant link them becouse of the xxxx@plaync account from my GW1 so basicly im still waiting, out of frustration i open a few tickets but then realize and now i have just one.

It’s been days since I’ve replied to that email providing all the information I was able to, and still have not received any further information on the situation.

Wow I was starting to think I was crazy!
I never got the chance to enter my info from gw1 either, I was just sent to a success page. Had to contact support because obviously no points and unable to login so they aren’t linked. The rep that messaged me back definitely chose not to read my request, just said emails matched and never heard from him again. Gave him all the info he could possibly need and he still slapped the FAQ in my face. I got the same automated email you guys got saying we didn’t forget about you. Going on 2 weeks now…I just wanted my accounts linked, is it truly that complicated? =(

I made the same mistake with linking accounts by using my old email. Problem is that my old email had registred test version of Guild Wars 1 without any GW1 games registred on it.

I also made a request to unlink my account with actual guild wars 1 account so I could link my correct gw1 account.

and i been waiting for almost 5 days without any respond, would be nice just to get a automatic respond that saying you are nummer 9000 in the que thanks you for your patience.

I, too, made a mistake. I bought the $60 pre-purchase over at my local Gamestop store. I’ve been using that account in the BWE and 3 day head start. Upon receiving my copy, I accidentally applied my new copy to a new email account. I have sent a ticket a while ago with no response.

I am having a ‘Serial Code Overlap’ issue.
I bought the pre purchase standard edition back in april. Then after liking the game so much I pre ordered the Collectors edition of the game (Yes I bought the game twice). Apon trying to upgrade my account i get the message ‘Serial Code Overlap’ I opened a ticket on the 25th (8 days ago) ref no. 120828-007129 and have yet to have a response from someone with a pulse.

ObDisclaimer: I do understand that account hacking issues get priority etc. This is a bit more trivial, but it is also super frustrating.

I have two GW accounts, one with email A and one with email B. The email A account has 10 HoM points, the email B account has 35, and so I was very careful about which account to link — but I also wanted to use email A (because I am not sure how long email B will be around) for my GW2 login. I suspect this confused things, because the wrong account got linked — I have rewards and locked character names from the email A GW account, not the email B one.

I have a support request [Incident: 120826-000572] on this issue but haven’t heard back.

Same issue here , my first ticket went in on the 29th pointing out what was happening and got no reply. My trouble start when they were having issues with the login server. so ended up with two accounts not knowing about the secound cause everytime i entered the code to update i would get errors or nothing at all. No e-mails were sent to me about the account too.So stuck with 1 account with all my toons on which i can’t play and another account with nothing on it but lets me type of the forums with the other account which won’t let me.

Hello. those are not my real emails here so..here i go to tell my issue. I had an old GW 1 account lets say xxxxx@xxx.com , when i participated in the closed beta i made same account here ( i mean same email) xxxxx@xxx.com. now these 2 accounts are linked . Issue is that when i bought my GW2 a few days ago i made i new acount yyyy@yyy.com which now i cannot link to xxxxx@xxx.com of GW1 . i forgot about my gw2 acount that i made on closed beta , or i wouldnt have made this second 1. I’m another customer with an incorrectly linked GW1 account. As far as I can tell, I ended up with an empty Guild Wars account (it gives me the message “You are not authorized to play Guild Wars” when I try to log in with the linked login). Ticket number is 120830-000500 . I was also hacked and thought the issues were related when I created the ticket. I have the GW2 account again (only thing they had a chance to do was change the home server, easily fixed) so that issue is resolved. Do I need to create another ticket for the linked account issue? I haven’t had a response since the 1st when they freed my GW2 account.

I also have the same issue of linking the wrong GW1 email account.

This issue happened due to the fact, I had the same email address for both accounts, and when I tried to link, I used the email address, instead of using the @ncsoft one.

Conclusion: Ended up with no HoM rewards at all.

I’ve already created a ticket, which didn’t received any kind of feedback. I’ve also commented about this issue before, they said they would solve this issue, but that they had no ETA, that they couldn’t mess up with the account linking at that current time (way before game release).

I would like to know if by now, there’s any kind of ETA for this kind of thing…

Besides the fact, I will probably want to rename my character, since I couldn’t use the names on my Guild Wars 1 account, it says those names are reserved, like… What the hell?

Like so many others, I was given a pre-order code by Gamestop and so I ended up linking my guildwars 1 account to the wrong account. I returned it and received a pre-purchase account; however, my guildwars 1 account is locked up by the pre-order account. I want to unlink these accounts. I have received only an automated response on my ticket. However no actual solutions as far as my main account is concerned has been presented to me and it has now been 10 days of absolute patience on my part. I can log in with this account, the “mistake account” but I don’t want to use it if that will enable my main account to be returned to me so essentially I am sitting in Limbo. Opening Guild Wars and sitting in the beautiful world and hearing my friends/ guildies experience it and not be able to do a thing.

My mistake was the following:
Confusion over the CE serial (Both due my distributor saying the prepurchase key is the only key I would need and the fact that I applied the key long before the post about keys was put up on the gws 2 FB page) and then mistakenly applying it to an incorrect account separate from the Main account that is now blocked.

I have not lost any faith in the company and I understand full well the complexities of the current issue as well as the amount of tickets being entered on a daily basis (Especially the first few days). All I need at the moment is an idea of whether I must move on or if I can still have hope that my account will be restored)

The quickest and easiest solution (Not sure if it is for Anet though) is if a new key is sent to us and the incorrect key is banned? That way there is no gain and the system corrects its self?

Kindly, I request that these “linking” issues that are preventing people from playing on the accounts they used and possibly even paid money into during the pre-purchase/order grace period (gems) be re-prioritized.

Account hacks were understandable issues to take priority initially, but now the community has been informed for days that they should protect themselves better. Yet the new hack cases seem to be taking priority over other extremely old incidents.

As of today, I have been waiting a week for resolution and have not been engaged by support directly at any point. Ticket: 120901-002179

From reading the many posts on these forums it is clear that others have been waiting even longer. I think the priority should be getting people back into the game, regardless of the specific reason they are not able to get into the game. I will concede that locking down a reported hacked account should be a high priority; however, the restoration efforts should not take precedence over much older tickets preventing access to the game.

Just my two cents, take it as you may. Thanks for your diligent efforts to help people in this, undoubtedly, extremely stressful time.

Same boat, waiting over a week. Perhaps my voice among others will help clarify the number of us with similar problems that could probably all be resolved similarly! The HoM thread is filled with linked account problems as well.

GW2 account claims “accounts linked” but I cannot use my reserved character names (and HoM is empty). Until I can use my reserved character names, I cannot play my primary character. (At least I can play at all, compared to some here!)

I suspect that my GW2 account is linked to a nonexistent GW1 account, since I used the same e-mail address but not the @plaync username from GW1. The registration process was unclear on that, and the @plaync username did not work for account linking. I only have one GW1 account and one GW2 account.

I recommend that a password check be instated to require all passwords to contain 8 digits, including alphanumeric, capitalization, and punctuation. That won’t fix all of the hacking issues, but it may fix some, and it will make players think more about account safety. To fix some of the linking problems, a linked account should list character names on the account—-perhaps require a character name to be entered along with the account e-mail address before linking is finalized, as a check to say, “Hey, are you sure you’re linking the account that you intended to link?”

So I tried to update my serial code and entered in the same information I did last time. Since the email I used on my GW1 account was different, it made a new account with that email instead of updating the one I just made for pre-release. I submitted my ticket 9/2/12.

What’s really funny, is that when I was posting the ticket, it had the little drop-down menu to select what your problem is related to. I clicked Account. Guess that made no difference, because when I finally received a response, this is what I got.

Hi,

Wouldn’t mind if you could help look into the ticket I raised (Incident: 120829-014249). I raised it on the 28th, and it’s a continuation of a earlier support ticket (Incident: 120823-002677) that was raised on the 23rd and closed abruptly, so it’s been over 2 weeks.

Apparently when I registered my pre-purchase key, two accounts were created – one the linked Guild Wars 1+2 account, and another Guild Wars 2 only account which should not have existed (this one has no proper display name). Even after registration of the actual retail CE code, this situation persists.

As a result, I’m unable to properly change my Guild Wars 1+2 email as the email seems to be registered to the phantom Guild Wars 2 account.

Please help to take a look at this. I’ve updated the support ticket with whatever relevant details necessary. One fortnight is rather long to be waiting for ANY reply that’s not from a template, so I would greatly appreciate it if you guys actually took a look at it.

So what your saying is that the team working the hacked issues are not the same ones that can resolve the serial key linking issues? Hello, I linked my Gw1 account, and it changed the log in info to my GW2 account. But it seems i can’t log in on GW1. My gw1 is merge with the ncsoft master account, for some reason, i have the gw1 trial in it along with my real account. So i linked my real gw1 account with gw2, it said it was linked..it even changed the info. said that i will be using the same log in for gw and gw2. i went to HoM on gw2 and there was nothing there for me. I’ve read that i might have to log in on gw1 and create a new character. but the problem is….i can’t log in using the same info as my gw2 account. If i log in with the ncsoft account, it doesnt log me in with my real account but the gw trial. :/ i’ve sent a ticket a week ago, still no answer

That happend for me when I first linked my account I couldn’t log into GW1 with my GW2 info. It took a few hours and then I was able to, just wait a bit and see if the issue is resolved.
