I put in a ticket quite a while ago and they have been helping me try to fix it. Nothing works so far though. Now they are asking me to make a video of it happening, so it might be a good idea if we all did that and linked to them on this page.

Bound ventrilo key click to mouse2 for the video as proof that its not the mouse that is cutting out. Hopefully this helps.

I, too, suffer these same issues. The recent patch (on 10/01/12, I believe) had my mouse working well for about 12 hours… then the issues started again.

Logitech G700 and generic wired three-button mouse and standard old Logitech wireless three-button mouse. All display the same behavior despite having had their drivers removed and the latest software reinstalled.

My Logitech G9X is wired, works fine in every other game and program, but not GW2.

Best as I can figure is that the mouse look function is being overridden by the select function.

In other words, if I am looking around and my hidden cursor passes over something selectable, it stops rotating. For me the game is unplayable until this issue is resolved.

This is a game issue – which I am actually suffering from now. I wasn’t when this post started, that’s for sure. Some update or something has broken proper mouse support.

This is on a brand new Logitech G700 (I replaced my old one with a new one 2 weeks ago due to ACTUAL button issues).

I don’t even run Setpoint software – the mouse has onboard memory and I just loaded my old profile to the new mouse via my Laptop (that’s where I keep Setpoint installed as I don’t want bloatware on my PC).

Needs fixing.

This is an interesting case since the G700 can be used wired or wireless. Does the problem persist if you use it wired?

Having the same issue here too.

I’ve ried to replicate it in other games to no avail. Initially thought it was my wired naga’s right button but after googling it I find I’n not the only one.
It’s been happening more and more since the early October patch. and I can’t play properly because of it. It’s making me more and more frustrated as time goes on.

Definitley needs a fix soon.

This is happening an awful lot for me lately, It’s really freaking annoying when trying to face enemies.. It seems to get stuck on walls or interactable things too.. Sometimes end up right clicking party portraits or people on my screen while moving the camera with RMB for some off reason.

Gets alot more frequent when it’s lagging too.

Its not my mouse as it works fine in other games & I;ve also tried two other mice which results in the exact same problem

Looks like the right click camera rotation has some issues lately , it feels like its losing the grip, and you have to press again multiple times to rotate the camera.
Tried drivers,new mouse,GW2 application compatibility,nothing helps.
Is it only me?

After a month of having this issue on, and off. I’m starting to think its a combination of the game, and the mouse.

While I haven’t been able to replicate it in any other game that requires holding mouse2. I did notice on my desktop if I hold and drag every once in a while my shell menu will flash up briefly. Or the drag box will re-center.

It seems for some reason in GW2 if mouse2 stops being held for the smallest fraction of time, then starts again the game loses focus. Rather then just going back to the issued command. However in other games, or even ventrilo its a-lot more forgiving . It will just go back to issuing the mouse2 command like nothing ever happened.

ugh, I started my own thread on this because when I did a search function in this forum, it did not spit this back as a result.

I am having this issue, but it isn’t solely limited to PvP. I just had this occurrence happen in PvE. I was just fighting a centuar, nothing big, and next thing I know, I am doing circles. Which is why I came to this forum to say something about it.

I am terribly surprised how many people are having issues with this.

I have a razer naga. All my firmware is up to date. All my drivers, is up to date, so it does not appear to be an issue with my mouse. This does not happen in any other game I play, and for anyone who PvP’s, this ‘glitch’ is an insta-killer. You’ll strat straffing one way, and suddenly, your facing another direction and your camera is spinning. In a combat style where split second reactions means the difference between a win and a loss you can see how people who PvP might be getting upset about it. In PvE, there is room for error, but in PvP, this glitch is ruining your player base there.

I always thought it was my issue, until I went and tried this in several other applications (and MMO’s) and have had no issues.

As far as I can tell the issue is still there and it just cost me 63k Karma from what would normally be a innocent single click, and this game registers random clicks as double clicks, as well as the stupid sketchy movement which I still saw today. I was annoyed before trying to drag items from my inventory which you would have to single click (no one related at all to windows speed settings or anything in game) to move it but only to have to do it multiple times, but imagine if it doesn’t work on Dyes or food. Yup, I consumed multiple.

I soon learned I had to deposit into my bank and remove them back so the single click wouldn’t consume incidentally if it did it. Today was the worst when I was looking at some cultural armor and clicked on a shield. I should have know better and the game registered it as a double click. So annoyed. Pretty much the vast majority of my karma gone.. I put a ticket in, but I heard that takes days, and to date no Dev has acknowledge these mouse problems in these threads or others.

Just for more info I posted here https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/support/tech/camera-mouse-turning-looking-fails/first#post406100

But to sum it up, I have a Naga Epic. I’ve heard it could be related to the high polling rate of certain mice with very high polling rates including some logitech mice. It happens in only a few games. Maybe GW2 didn’t take extremely high poll rates into account.

I also I can’t recall it happening in wired mode, it may have but it’s certainly worse in wireless mode.

I’ve yet to try lowering my polling rate, I can’t remember what default was but I’m sure it was less than 1000 which is what I’m running at.

P.S. If you don’t have the problem or the solution why would you post? It’s not a worn switch issue that’s for sure!

Hi guys, I’d like to collect some data from you all in regards to this issue.

Could you please provide the make and model of the mouse that you’re using?

Additionally, is this issue isolated to the one mouse?

If you’re using a wireless mouse, does this issue occur when using a wired mouse?

If you haven’t already, as it will be difficult to look into this issue one on one with every player within the post, I would highly recommend creating a support ticket with our Technical Support team so that we can better assist you while we continue to look into this issue.

Here is a video of the problem I was having. http://youtu.be/PM5PBNUtxE4 . My actual mouse never stopped moving and the rmb stays depressed, yet the camera and cursor pause quite often. The cursor even moves to my second display even though the game is running fullscreen. This happens even running at 60fps just moving the cursor and not the camera.

After forcing triple buffering and max pre-rendered frames to 1 the problem has gone away… for now.

Yup problem is back.

I think I have the same symptoms with my Logitech G700. What someone suggested from another forum is to alternately click left/right for 30 seconds, supposedly to “remove any static charge built up inside”.

Fixes it for me, but might be for this mouse model only. Problem is the same thing occurs again in a couple of days. So I just keep left/right click for 30 secs every few days. =\

This is absolutely KILLING me ArenaNet. I understand there are hotkeys for practically every movement and command, and that I don’t even need to use mouse clicks… but it’s needed if you want to have the best control possible.

Please, fix this issue. I know exactly what causes it— it’s when you hold right click + move camera in any direction via moving the mouse.

Also.. please note:

Also.. please note:I understand that the mouse should be locked in place on right click. Otherwise you’d be left trying to compensate your mouse movement speed and your camera rotation speed— which wouldn’t be good.

Otherwise you’d be left trying to compensate your mouse movement speed and your camera rotation speed— which wouldn’t be good.My suggestion is do whatever you can to make sure that the mouse is not being covered up. We absolutely need the option to toggle whether or not the mouse is visible when rotating camera. Not to mention it also needs to have more contrast so that it shows up better against the already earth-toned world.

I am using a Razer Naga Epic and I never use it wireless – it is always plugged in via USB. As is stated with other players, it seems to be an issue that happens more frequently the more activity there is around me. For example, it is horrible during events and in WvW. I have tried reinstalling drivers, switching USB ports and even using an old generic Logitech mouse and I still get the same issues.

Logitech G9x (Wired)

Funny thing is this only started happening to me yesterday. Before that, I can’t recall a single instance of it happening, either in open world PvE (crowded group events included) or in WvW. Now it happens all the time, and the amount of things happening on screen doesn’t seem to make a difference. My RMB will randomly stop functioning even in non-crowded areas w/out any events going on around me.

This pretty much makes the game unplayable for me because not only do I use my mouse for turning, but I also use it almost exclusively for forward movement via LMB+RMB (I alternate with Toggle auto-run depending on the situation).

I will also be submitting a ticket.

I posted this in another thread, it’s been about 3 weeks (It was a sunday patch) that I had started having issues with this. Using a razer naga too. I’m not sure what has changed as it was fine before but using rmb to change camera view is just horrid now. I’ve tried using keys but they are slow to respond compared to the mouse. I’m hoping for a fix as this was fine before that patch.

Hi,
I’m also having this exact camera mouse problem with my Logitech G700 (wired mode).
Yesterday I tried to troubleshoot/fix it myself, and here’s what I found :
- Using a software I coded for the matter, I found that GW2 sends fakes double clicks, on a delay no human can achieve (double clicks of 13-200 ms). Trying to filter or negate these fake double clicks is still under work. A log of my software can be provided for further investigation.
- It happens in wired and wireless modes
- It happens with and without the mouse software in memory

I noticed another thing, I don’t know if it’s linked :
When you have nothing selected and you turn your camera, if you directly face a pnj (without selecting it), it highlights itself. It’s like a semi-selection, and maybe it bypasses the focus function ? Juste a thought.

I confirm this bug is extremely annoying, and could become a game breaker if it is not fixed quickly.
To me (a developer myself), a main component of the game is currently broken : the camera.
Please fix it ASAP.

A little bump to update what I found :
Yesterday, I modified my troubleshooter software to make it remplace the normal right click with a switch :
I press right click, it enables the camera move,
I press right click again, it disables the camera move.

Guess what ? The issue seems gone.
So there’s something about GW2 thinking and acting like the mouse button has been hardware released, when it is not.
If the button is triggered via software, there is no problem.
So, It may be something to do with the high CPU usage of the game and USB polling rate. If GW2 is too CPU intensive, then maybe USB polling goes on a less prioritary task, and then we encounter fake micro button releases.

I’d really like to see that I’m not the only one working on this, and that Anet gives a little interest about this issue…
I have to code some software to troubleshoot/fix something the developers should be working on already, it’s not fair…
