My husband, Nightofwar.3965, submitted a ticket on Sept 2, Ticket #120902-015398, and still has not gotten a response.
His account was hacked by his e-mail being changed. I’ve seen the hacker playing on his account since submitting this ticket and it makes me very uncomfortable watching his account being abused.
Unable to login because the email address got changed or is somehow invalid.

I lost gold twice .At first i thout i lost gold cuz i server transfer .but that wasnit the case, i loged out for 30 mins for a break ,Loged back in and lost 2more gold.so i lost 3 gold plus in total, some i got through gems also.

More information about our friend: Basically, his email account used for the game was hacked. The hacker used his email to gain access to his GW2 account then changed the email account associated with the game. He’s recovered and re-secured his original email account, but needs Arena.Net to change the email address for his account back to his original email account he used to register his game.

My account is perma banned since 3/08. I can see login attempt from China on my account (I live in Canada).
And btw, when the game came out, I tried to confirm my e-mail but it wasn’t working. I confirmed it after beeing hacked that is the reason why I am seeing those attempt. I never allowed another IP to access my account since my e-mail wasn’t confirmed.

My account was hacked and recovered; however, upon attempting to log in, it says I am banned. You guys said that I am not responsible for the actions of the hacker in a previous thread, yet my account is still banned, and I have been waiting to play this game since last Friday. I really would appreciate it if someone would help me out.

Posting this for my son.
His account was stolen last weekend, money stolen etc. This Monday, the account email was changed, and then his character was moved from an American server to a foreign server. From day one He tried multiple times to authenticate his account but the web site always said that it was an invalid email even though he was able to play the game with that same email and also log onto the web site with it. He has brought about 12 friends over form World of warcraft and even paid for a few of their games… His emails and tickets are getting no responses, please return the account asap!

My account was hacked on Friday 08/31/12, I was given my account back Monday 09/03/12 since then I have been permanently banned with no reason and this has yet to be resolved. I also got rid of 1 of my tickets so there wouldnt be any issues.

My friends account was hacked and his email adress was changed and they changed his lvl 76 character to a german server. I saw the hacker playing on his account.
His account name used to be Ravaha.3702
He has had an open ticket since Sunday and has not heard anything. His ticket numbers are 120903-000800 and 120904-010655. he did the right thing by only submitting 2 tickets suggested by Arenanet staff. I would apreciate it if you looked into the matter, he is really axious to get back to playing.
Is it really so much to ask to have one employee start on the tickets at the start of this thread and work his way through them? I feel like I could have gone through every single one of these tickets in less than a day, and yes I’ve had a CSR position before.

Writing on behalf of roommate who is still unable to access his account. Original ticket opened on 09/01/12 – Incident # 120901-021801. He received the automated response asking for the proper info (account name, etc) and replied immediately with that information.
He subsequently opened an additional ticket, as instructed, to prioritize the first ticket. This ticket is Incident # 120903-011739. He has closed that ticket as requested by support staff and updated original ticket.

He gets as an error “e-mail is not registered”. His e-mail probably got changed during the process. He can’t play GW1 either (Yes, they’re fused account). He can’t post on forum because he can’t log ANYWHERE with his account infos.
I need to my ticket now be ignored, I don´t know that a merged account use the same password and i recovered mine using reset with my ncsoft account in GW1. Sorry about any incovenience.

To those who think getting a account hacked is their own fault I have this to say.
Arena net security is flawed.
My privacy was jeapordized one time.
That was a little over a year ago when there was a trifle of malicious android apps on the android market. They stole about 4 million peoples gmail account info and sent it to china.
gmail was nice enough to tell me that my account was being accessed from chinese ip’s…. Imedietly changed my passwords to every account even remotely tied to my email adress.. and never had a problem until now.
Its no wonder all these “hackers” are coming from china.
Any way. Yes i made the mistake of using that old password.
But still .. why did none of my other accounts get stolen when it was attempted right after my gw account was stolen?
because with my other accounts.. I get an email saying I have to confirm changes etc.
because with other accounts, they lock acess from unverified ip adresses..
also authenticator tools.
even a phone number helps.
so many ways to beef up security. anet should have had the foresight to plan better security..
anet has close to zero security. and to top it off, the support staff can not keep up with the amount of tickets.
something has to give.
I understand a lot of mmos get targeted.
I understand the krew is working around the clock to resolve these issues…
I understand I made a huge mistake using a old password. and not a unique. one. This mistake alone should not cost me my account where other accounts (though attempted) were not stolen.
But anet needs to work on security.
Why even let chinese ip’s come into the servers in the first place? they should be blocked.. Block them from the website all together. Most of them are farmers anyway… Is the game even available in china…
How many peoples accounts have been hacked?

How are they so sure it was all these individuals were each individually targeted.
Thats a pretty big endeavor..
Or you could just steal account information directly from anet servers…..
Their account security measures are so weak.. would their web servers be as vulnerable as our accounts?

note: I am a understanding and thoughtfull person, just running out of patients. i have learned one valuable lesson in all this.. use a strong 100% unique password for all online accounts….

My boyfriend’s account got hacked, he can’t post because they changed his email.
I wanted to test my luck in the forums for an answer or at least a peaceful mind.
First of all – that ticket was a Hacked Account ticket that was resolved but I was also asked to confirm if I wanted the other account unlinked from my Guild Wars 1 account so that I could link it to my new account. I simply confirmed that I did want it unlinked so that I could link it to my account and finally receive my rewards.
Since it has been over 72 hours since I have heard back I wanted to ask what I should do to proceed. Continue waiting, update the ticket, or re-open a new ticket and close the current one?
Any answer from the forum support would be most welcomed. I do understand that support is busy giving everyone their accounts back and believe me I understand and I am most grateful since I was one of the victims that was lucky enough to get my account back.

1.120831-011270 (aug 30) ive received an email saying that my account has been fixed but when i log in with my new details it says ive been perma banned. i would attempt to say this is funny but its kinda just a kick in the nutz. im not even sure if the email i got says i can play or if my account has been re-issued and i have to wait for something else to happen in order to play (im going to assume the latter do to my inability to play…).

It was answered on the 3rd my account was shifted to a new email address I provided, and I was given a temporary password.
10 minutes later another representative also looked at the ticket and repeated the same steps.
The Last & The First Temporary passwords … do not work.

P.S. Allowing a change of email address, and therefore account name, without confirming it with the previous email address is a big “Welcome” sign to hackers.
