From our perspective, you had greater numbers than us, our commander found it hilarious that you were running when you had such a big Zerg, the laughing wasn’t meant as anything malicious, we just found the situation of a 60 man Zerg running away from us humerous.

TC’s commander did /supplyinfo before the Bay attack, and we had 23 people. Where you get 60, I have no idea.

So yeah, if you guys had 45 (I thought it was closer to about 35-40, but if you guys say 45, I’ll believe you), you definitely outnumbered us.

We had about 25-30 initially, perhaps 40 when we had you backed into Garrison, there was no way that you only had 23 at that point, maybe 15 minutes earlier when you started the bay attack.

You’re right that we didn’t have 23 when you backed us up to our garrison; several of our people had died, so we were probably down to about 15-20.

Your side absolutely had more than 25-30, though. At least 35, and one person from your own server said you had 45.

Majority of our players dont do pve. Also we are starting to get worried about our rating as BG are about to go above us (Ahh what are Anet thinking), which means we may well get another one sided match up next week.

The new system is messed up considering that a sever can outrank another from rating outside of a direct confrontation. Any competitive ranking needs to be transparent and should never be based on gambling. The random roll can favour a server or another rating outcome based on the matchups. regardless of the true server strength. There is no way to verify the random roll and there is no 3rd party involved to predict and verify the results. It seems that Millenium site also waiting for ANet to provide the random roll (through the API or leaderboards) before the end of the matchup so they would then be able to predict next matchups.

That could happen in the old system as well.

It never happened within the same tier, for example in the old system you had to defeat the number 1 server to take it’s place at least 1 time. Same for 2nd and 3rd place and same for every tier.
Come on guys, no excuses, TC’ers and SoS’ers don’t start taking it easy on SoR.

Yeah, EBG tends to be our most populated map, and on weeknights during NA prime, when there isn’t a big nasty PvE event going on, we generally queue 3/4 maps, at least for a little while. I’ve seen us queue all four in the past when people are extra frisky, but that doesn’t usually last long. Now that RE is here, I wouldn’t be surprised if we queue all 4 during at least part of NA Prime pretty often.

I think if SoR would have matched/exceeded our population on sunday and monday nights, we would have probably had a bit of a stalemate on points instead of us pulling ahead as far as we did during those timeslots. I think we might have had more people on those two nights than you did. You guys rolled out a lot more tonight, and that mixed with the dragon crap…we just couldn’t do as well tonight.

Good fights earlier in SoRBL though. We lost our commander in the middle of one fight due to net issues, and ended up having another guy from another guild pop his tag and finish the fight. Really fun, though, and we actually pulled out a victory.

I had to run off during the initial siege against Bay (the golems at the wurm gate while XPK created the small diversion at NE gate), but it looks like they held on to it.

To be fair that’s not hard to be, they often vanish after NA prime. Yesterday at one point I think there were literally 5-6 of us in EB all defending one tower from a SoS swarm. Luckily that was pretty much the lowest of the low points though and people started to trickle in afterwards, so we managed to hold the keep at least.

Hickeroar, I’ve been sitting at work watching the mos map every night since reset and I can tell you with certainty that TC has a certain 1-4am NA timeslot advantage over SoR. It seems to be the time when you guys really start to hit the maps hard.

I don’t post on this forum very often, but I absolutely have to tonight. I could not have had more fun on EB tonight fighting RE and the TC zerg. The open field fights were simply awesome. Kudos to RE and TC for their class and sportsmanship. I wish spontaneous sparring like this could happen more often.

lamefox, I agree that your NA prime can be more or less sporatic. Tonight was a good example of that

Tomorrow night RE will be in EB most likely again, most of us will be on at 5-8 pm server time. We had a blast also, thank you for letting us destroy the sieges outside SM that your militia built. The lag was awful tho.

What are ANET thinking? You’re the server claiming to have gone easy on us for this week. Maybe if you hadn’t done that, you wouldn’t be in danger of losing 1st…

Eh, not that it matters all that much. A particularly bad random roll could send them to T3 even if they are rated above you…

I think the scores are spread enough that you need a very bad roll in conjunction with a good roll from SoS for any t1 server to risk a t3 fight.

Give us a bad roll next week, and top 2 tiers should be relatively self-contained. We’re just awkwardly positioned halfway between t2 and the rest of t3, and therefore liable to jump to t2 with anything positive.

The reverse actually happened with the old system. t3 and t4 were a lot closer than the old ratings would suggest – the two matches so far where CD (2nd by a long way in t4) has been basically neck and neck with two t3 servers the whole week (I believe actually winning last week?) serve as clear evidence to that.

It feels like I’m always yelling at pretentious (or juvenile) PUGs about this. There’s no pride in winning with numbers. That’s something I stick by on both sides of a fight. I don’t yell about it because I think it ‘makes defeated enemies feel bad’ or anything. To the contrary, it makes us look like either bullies or idiots. Not that those two things are mutually exclusive… :P

I personally have more respect for TC than any world we’ve faced climbing up the ladder from near the bottom, and I’ve been Wv3’ing since the beginning (once I hit 80). I don’t actually remember which tier SoR started in, though. Someone can refresh my memory, I’m sure.

Ah Clockradio I wish our TC zerg was 70-70+ the last two nights. In reality though, our zerg has seldom reached 60 players we have mostly been around 50-60 during fights. I think various reasons contributed to that. The highest count I had against you guys stacked up was 61, but generally. 55-57 was the number. Either way fun times and thanks for your positive remarks of our Guild [RE]

Well most things said here hold little weight.
If someone /laugh at you from another server, don’t come crying here, pugs are usually the biggest offenders but not always, they just a little ramped up.
As for numbers being offset, this could be a whole lot worse, we decided to take a relaxed approach this week in favor of a more fun match up and began getting ridiculed and if we all push we get ridiculed again. We have a large wvw population, our overall pop isn’t much larger if larger at all than TC.
If you want to complain to anyone, write to Anet, I think we’ve done what we can to make this a closer match up and we really cannot please everyone. So please just try to enjoy the rest of the week and have fun everyone.

I like SoS! I want to see the underdog of this matchup start smacking the big dog around. The battles are so much better when all 3 teams are on the field. If SoR is fully focused on TC with their backs to SoS, I loved to see them stick a dagger in it. (no offense SoR, you guys are really good)

Obviously those poster you quoted has a different opinion, but I can safely say that there are many of us in SoR that could care less about the actual rating points. If the math to determine rating didn’t get changed, we were going to lose ground against BG no matter how many points we put on the board.

Personally, I think it would do BG some good to regain #1. They are out i droves this week during NA in their current match, which is something that hasn’t happened in weeks.
