Majority of our players dont do pve. Also we are starting to get worried about our rating as BG are about to go above us (Ahh what are Anet thinking), which means we may well get another one sided match up next week.

The new system is messed up considering that a sever can outrank another from rating outside of a direct confrontation. Any competitive ranking needs to be transparent and should never be based on gambling. The random roll can favour a server or another rating outcome based on the matchups. regardless of the true server strength. There is no way to verify the random roll and there is no 3rd party involved to predict and verify the results. It seems that Millenium site also waiting for ANet to provide the random roll (through the API or leaderboards) before the end of the matchup so they would then be able to predict next matchups.

That could happen in the old system as well.

It never happened within the same tier, for example in the old system you had to defeat the number 1 server to take it’s place at least 1 time. Same for 2nd and 3rd place and same for every tier.

This is incorrect. If I’m remembering correctly, SoR made it’s debut at #2 in Tier 1, jumping from green in Tier 2. The outcome of the Tier 1 match did not matter.

Our mixed WvW/PvE population is one of the reasons that TC has a great community, but also one of our weaknesses in WvW.

SoS has ticked above us in the morning for almost all of this week and last. Their morning coverage (SEA?) is pretty darn solid. Honestly they remind me a bit of DB in that regard. If they can get a few NA guilds in there, they’re gonna be pretty solid overall.

We’re facing a force 3 times the size of our 20-person zerg on TC BL. We’re driven back to Garrison from Bay, and then they simultaneously /laugh at us. Keep it classy, SoR. Keep it classy.

It feels like I’m always yelling at pretentious (or juvenile) PUGs about this. There’s no pride in winning with numbers. That’s something I stick by on both sides of a fight. I don’t yell about it because I think it ‘makes defeated enemies feel bad’ or anything. To the contrary, it makes us look like either bullies or idiots. Not that those two things are mutually exclusive… :P

I personally have more respect for TC than any world we’ve faced climbing up the ladder from near the bottom, and I’ve been Wv3’ing since the beginning (once I hit 80). I don’t actually remember which tier SoR started in, though. Someone can refresh my memory, I’m sure.

If I remembered correctly, SoR started in T7 at the head start. We bounced around T7 and 6 for a while facing the likes of NSP, DH, and SF. Back then all of our servers were evenly matched and the scores were actually decided at the last few ticks.

I’ve actually noticed a little bit of this as well, and I think it’s really a result of T1 culture. In T1 servers, I assume, it costs a lot more if you do wipe. Like…you wipe and they take something every time as a result. Their play is a lot more careful than the scrappy stuff we have become used to seeing in T2.

It could all be my imagination on all counts though.

I have seen a few zergs with a higher number of glass people (XPK seems to be a little squishier, while dealing more overall damage), but overall, SoR has the most consistently solid builds we’ve come up against…other than maybe Agg….and that’s not server-wide at DB. xD

I really wish they would come out and play when the scales of power are even, and not heavily weighted in their favor. But hey, it just makes the bags of those I catch trying to get to the zerg that much sweeter.

Actually, a lot of rallians run team orientated builds. The only glass we usually run is eles and their survival comes from positioning. Any decent player would realize that their build isn’t optimal for small scale battles. Especially against guys who trait themselves up to pick off zerglings. So, most people will run, as they aren’t built for small scale battles.

I would like to commend SoR on their level if patience. It must take a lot of patience to wait for enough numbers to show up before they come out of their t3 walled keeps.

I am interested in seeing the inside of one of your keeps later today, as I’m sure, with so much manpower inside, you guys put it to good use redecorating and the interior looks fabulous?

Ya takes a while sometimes, everyone is so afraid of the extreme organized killing machines from TC lurking outside the walls. Usually we make sure we have at least a 100 people before we decide to move out. I really can’t wait for this match up to be over so I can fight much less formidable opponents like BG or JQ.

I cant speak for other guilds on SoR, but none of our ele’s run glass. Even with good use of positioning and range, it only takes one person with a gap closer and a brain to kill a GC ele and rally 20 downed people on the ground.

As powerful as SoR’s eles may be, it’s the necros of TSYM I’ve had experience with. Getting slapped with 10 wells at once is not a pleasant sight.

Why would a commander move out early when people from his/her guild are still coming in to rally up? I know many of SOR’s guilds are already handicapping themselves to make this match up more even and fun for everyone from logging early to running upleveled necro/mesmer groups instead of their mains . If you want such perfectly even fights may I recommend spvp. Many SOR guilds are itching for some gvg action.

This fight is lopsided in TC’s favor. They activated Monster Coast this match up!
All we can do is hide behind walls and stack 10 arrow carts at every gate to keep the boogie man out! I just wish TC would just give us a chance. We may have to upgrade to 20 arrow carts if this keeps up.

I’ve enjoyed this battle. The fights have been pretty even within NA primetime. Last night was a lot of fun. We had the SoR zerg and the TC zerg (Nice to meet you RE!) outside of SM fighting. Was it really strategically important? No. Was it a lot of fun? Definitely.

SoR, enjoy the rest of your tier 2 vacation. You guys definitely deserve the #1 server title. Here’s hoping for more open field, meaningless, yet super fun, battles the remainder of this week.

I would like to thank the 8 TC that let me and another mesmer roll them in a 2v8 outside of SM last night. In all fairness, we do have the exact same characters (makeover kit 4tw) armor set, colors, spec and weapons.

Yes I /laughed at you many times. No I do not care about your feelings. It was a challenge at least. Tip for future mesmer fights, look for the weapon stacks and place targets on the correct mesmers.

Don’t mind Shaojack and iCryptik – they have a long-distance bromance and this is the first time they’ve gotten to meet in a long time. You know how people get when they are all nervous and fluttery

Overall I think it’s been a pretty fun week all things considered. Lots of respect to (most of) SoR this week for trying to keep things fun and not just 24/7 roflstomp. I hope most people on SoR are still enjoying themselves and having fun with the fights when they can.

There’s the occasional troll (from all 3 Servers), the occasional “what are/were they thinking?!?” moment on the field (from all 3 Servers), but overall there have been plenty of good fights and good sportsmanship for the most part.

Let’s just enjoy what we can while it lasts

Good to see you again, dude. The wells comment is based on an actual fight at Danelon last night. I found it strangely amusing to see 8-10 wells appear at almost the exact same moment leading to 6 of us being downed at the same time.

A few more days of TC getting absolutely demolished, (let’s not kid ourselves here, SOR has resorted to keeping attendance low and playing on lowbie alts to somewhat even out the terms to keep us entertained, not to mention a guild flat out temporarily transferring to find competitive fights), and we will see this forum flooded with their QQ.

Its OK TC, we will roleplay your server, tell you to keep your chin up and maintain a positive attitude, as we wreck everything around you and make all your base our base.

One player, once upon a time, mentioned that “no one really knows if there’s a gap between T2 and T1” because it’d been static for so long.

You have decided that because of that one remark, ALL T2 SERVERS, especially TC, seem to think we could beat T1 servers.

That is not the case, and never has been….yet you have made it your personal troll campaign and odd obsession for the past couple months. No one from TC went into this week expecting to do amazingly well against SoR. SoR, for all intents and purposes is a “T0” server, not a T1 server, anyway.

If TC was going to be even partially comparable to a T1 server, it would be JQ, and even then that wouldn’t be a win…it would just be a more fair fight than this week has been.

Compounding this week was our obvious 50% attendance yesterday because of this stupid dragon event. These stupid ANet events annoy the hades out of me.

You can discount that as a fact all you want, but the fact remains that this happens on TC every single event-launch day. No one is “blaming” anything. It’s just a statement of fact.

AGAIN: no one thought we could beat SoR. No one said we might. No one even expected us to come close to a tie.

I suggest that you read next time before trolling. I don’t know what your obsession with T2 is, or what your superiority complex stems from, but I suggest you figure that out and maybe consider transferring…

SoR is impossibly ahead of any other server in WvW. I’m sure Aurust is the main reason behind that, because otherwise the amount of emphasis and sheer dedication he shows in drilling this fact in everyone else would seem outright silly, wouldn’t it?
