I am highly skeptical of these reports. There is no way you could just park your toon at the chest, and then instantly jump into an overflow (as if the worlds running these weren’t always full; thus requiring multiple attempts to join) where the event just ended to get the chest….all without actually participating….and by doing it within the time frame before the chest disappears.

Is there a very, very small minority of people who may have possibly been able to perhaps successfully achieve this? Sure. I’m sure a couple of people may have gotten lucky. And by a couple, that’s about as many as I think could have pulled this off.

I really enjoyed the event. I sacrificed what I would otherwise have done on Sunday (which for me is watching football with friends).

I think everyone did have an equal opportunity. It’s just that some chose to attend, and others did not. Life is about choices. Was it more convenient for some more than others? Absolutely. Does that make it “unfair”? Not at all.

It’s not like there wasn’t weeks of notice allowing people to plan if they really wanted to.

I’ve played another MMO, where there were occasional one-time events…that always seemed to occur while I was at work. Thems the breaks. I wasn’t mad about it. I could have taken off of work to attend…I chose not to. I had to make a choice, and work trumped video games.

The only people who I think have a legitimate gripe are those who tried to attend, but couldn’t log in or those who did attend, but got DC’d and never got the chest….and Anet has already stated they are looking into helping those people out.

I really enjoyed it.

The Scavenger Hunt was bugged for me, so I never got going with that.

Phase 2: I was in SoS before the “invasion” of LA. But once in SoS, the event chain was very fun; and watching the island get built was pretty sweet.

Phase 3 was epic. Laggy, hectic, long…but epic and a lot of fun.

I get that people are upset. But here’s the thing. One time event is one time event. By being a one time event, it made it epic.

Everyone knew for weeks when this event would occur. Some could make it, some couldn’t. Some were able to arrange their schedules, some could not. That’s life.

I do feel for those who participated but got DC’d…or those who could not actually get into the game. Something should be done for those people.

But from a loot perspective; randomized loot is randomized loot. I didn’t get a precursor, and I don’t feel like I got shafted….because I know that randomized loot is randomized loot. I can’t even use the exotics I got. But thems the breaks. Instead of being upset that I didn’t get great loot, I’m happy for those who did. My standard reward of an accessory and 20 item bag are plenty. The additional loot was icing on the cake…albeit not the icing I prefer!

This is an MMO without a sub. An MMO that is cranking out content with no sub. And some people are complaining and asking for rewards for something that they never even attempted to participate in. Or are upset because they didn’t get as good of loot as someone else.

The only ones who have a legitimate complaint are those who tried to participate, but could not actually log in due to the servers being bombarded and those who were participating, but got DC’d…and by the time they got back in, the event was over.

Going to waypoint was risking a loading screen of death and a freeze. Happened to me more than once.

Halloween content was awesome.

This content is frustrating. People aren’t getting things done. People don’t know what they should be doing because they aren’t assuming that things are bugged.

Just a very strange implementation….and then removing things knowing that many people couldn’t do thanks to the bugs….that’s just the salt in the wound!
