Most of us logged off before you attacked Bay (which had a buggy wp upgrade) but those were good fights nonetheless.

Why not make a coalition of guilds for WvW purposes? Get all the guilds together, make a new one just for WvW and let everyone know that they need to rep that one whenever in WvW. Start with raids at certain, specific hours, make Voice comm mandatory (don’t need a mic, just to listen). You need to optimize the usage of the scarce resources you have (population) and maximize what you do with it. Keep the morale up and the rest will come

It seems like he wants someone to come and explain and train him and his guild. Trying to learn by following a commander is cool and all but it isn’t the same as having someone teach you.

OP we do weekly training sessions on SF if you want to send one of your ppl over. If not you might have better luck in the WvW recruitment subforum since that’s where ppl willing to transfer go to look.

As a former Darkhaven, I find this suggestion really good. You might need to send someone to another server where he can be trained and then pass on the knowledge. Yes, most of us learned by example while following the doritos but sometimes you need and actual training session to practice concepts such as stacking, fields, blasting different types of fields, veiling,etc.

Hope you guys find what you’re looking for, but the most important qualities a WvWer needs to have imo are resilience and patience. You WILL get face rolled, a lot, but if you learn from your mistakes, try to do it better next time and don’t get discouraged easily, you’ll be stronger.

Don’t be afraid to ask questions in game, there are helpful veterans anywhere that are willing to answer, usually free of charge xD

Would like to congratulate everyone for the good fights overall. I’m really proud of the communication between guilds and groups on FA, one minute we are on EB looking for fights and the other we are at the lords room in hills fighting off a Zerg rush while ring is up.

PPT aside, this has been a close match with excellent fights. GJ all!

I agree that if the rewards are good, turnout for season 2 will be guaranteed. This is all about choices, if you care more about server loyalty, then make your server a viable candidate for the top spots. Ifyou care about rewards then transferring might be an option for you.

Best thing on this matchup has been responding to a SOS call at sbi’s hills (which was ours at the moment) they went like this: “haelp! DB is at south hills, gate is 40%,hurry”, we rush, stack,buff,etc, and go out expecting to find a zerg, instead it was a lone DB on a golem hacking away at the door without a worry in the world. One can only imagine the map chat convo he must have been writing before we proceeded to send him to golem heaven: “Yo guys, I’m soloing Hills, get here noobs before I get all that Dragonite for myself, there’s no one here”.

Now I’m wondering if this isn’t Devon’s master plan for playing in NSP. They are sure to finish on last or second last place of silver NA and then the guy will say: “See?nothing bad with finishing in last place, I got my reward and am a happy camper”

Part of being a commander is learning how to micro manage. You can’t seriously expect a guy to defend only, as that will invite the opposing servers to 2-1 you; at the same time, if you go on the offensive all the time while paying no mind to defend your important towers and keeps, then you are doing it wrong.

In my opinion, a commander should not do everything himself, but should delegate whenever possible. Flip a tower, set siege, comment on /say or /team chat for ppl to build said siege and then move on, reminding ppl that there’s siege at that tower that needs to be manned and refreshed. There’s always defensive minded ppl or guilds that will stay on those towers.

Also, you need to keep a priority list. Towers like Anz, klov and dur are more susceptible to be taken, and thus, you shouldn’t flip out whenever you lose them. Keeps, T3 towers and stuff with waypoints, you should prioritize.

Also, and again this is only my opinion, whenever holding SM gets in the way of defending the rest of your stuff, it becomes expendable. I prefer to let it flip, concentrate on getting your lowlands back into shape and then make a try for SM when you feel you’re strong enough.

Fast, you still have a chance, transfer to IoJ and change the way you play WvW. If you are thinking that you want more and are frustrated at your server for giving up when outmatched, emoting wildly when winning or porting just in front of a huge Zerg, then come to us. We have guilds that range from those that raid daily to those that actually like PvE.

We are looking to improve our EU and Oceanic coverage in time for season 1. We are not asking for anyone to carry the server as we already have the infrastructure, just looking to expand on it. Come, write your story on IoJ and make a name for you and your guild.

I think the only problem here was one of communication. I read all the threads and honestly, everyone just wants the same kitten. It’s only that the WAY ppl phrase their thoughts it’s not always the best and then there’s the matter with leadership and egos. I read your ideas, and while I agree with 99% of the things you said, it’s the way you said it that ticked ppl off.

In the end, everyone just wants the best to their own server and everyone has different mindsets and methods, some are more defensive minded, others are all about being offensive. The game allows some variety to the tactics we use and that can only bring about good things to us as a server.

So, if you decide to leave, good luck on all your endeavors. If you stay, let’s work on stomping the opposition, each in his own way.

IoJ is always on the lookout for skilled and experienced players. You prob already know the drill: good community, several WvW dedicated guilds to choose from, server forums and TS, etc.

I transferred about a month or so and have been really happy with my decision. Last time I checked our pop was High. We are gonna be fighting in the silver league at season 1 so we are getting good matchups.

Oh, fun fights galore! Lake tower at CD bl was a Battlezone tonight. So many bags and fights. They had to bring the big boys Zerg in order to get us out of that tower.

All in all a pretty fun week, tho our casuals didn’t show up to play as much as we would have liked.

About to enter silver league at first season with big expectations. We knew you were there, we were just low on ppl after fighting you and cd outside the tower for so long. I think we were portal bombing for about 30-40 mins before that gate went down. By the time we retreated into lords, we were already losing that fight and just trying to farm as much as possible.

It was a good fight, tho I prefer the IoJ garri fight at noon/early afternoon. Must have lasted around 45 mins and we ended up keeping it. Excellent fights guys, even if the Omega ABuse is getting ridiculous.

I’m from IoJ but I can tell you that CD does care about defense and they do it very well, especially on their bl.

As a former DH that transferred I will, of course, try to convince you to come to IoJ
Never outmanned in our bl, great communication between guilds over TS and commitment to keep our stuff (they get mad at you from setting regular defensive siege instead of superior in important towers), you will find all that here.

Zerg busts, GvG, active forums, and great organizational skills, those are the things you can expect from this guild. I’ve learned a lot of strategies and group management and synergy in my few days with the guild.

Yo do know that most kills in gvg are from AoE/auto attack than from spikes. Also, you don’t wipe the whole enemy guild, just enough to make them surrender. In a 15/15, I’d say that about 5 spikes happen, and that’s not a conservative number.

Then there’s the chance that your server doesn’t have bloodlust. Trust me, it happens. In the infamous match that got the attention of ppl for the Anet intervention, one guild fought with major bloodlust (2stacks) while the other had none.

I saw the video and the commander and a couple others said dude go somewhere else and were being rude. Pretty sure if had not tag up he would break the rules and receive a 1hour ban at least. The arenanet employee were just playing the game as intended.

Anet confirmed that while you represent the company in front of the players, you need to conduct yourself with higher standards than usual. You are not another player, you are responsible for the company’s image as your words hold power in them (you can issue bans,etc). If the guy had made those comments without an Anet tag, it’d have been no problem.

As a person who participated on that GvG I just have to say that ppl are taking this out of context. If the problem was GvG per se, then there are many points of views and valid arguments here. Alas, that’s not the issue at hand.

The problem is that the guy used his tag, which immediately makes whatever he says “official”. Think about it, if he were to ban ppl, he could do it because he was given power and responsibility from the service provider and he agreed to use it. What we are asking is that they be held accountable in the same way players would be if caught infracting ToS. I personally don’t want anyone to get fired, not even a public apology, just want the devs to review their performance and have more tact when handling these kind of issues, especially after they have lauded this game as “play how you want”.

You guys are reading too much into context. Unless you play on those particular servers, you would not know that TE and CORE were smashing each other the whole week since reset, battling each other with adds/pugs over objectives,sieges,etc. They have some of the more dedicated WvW player base in those two servers and by Thursday night,they wanted to battle each other without the militia intervening. Even so, the WvW matchup was decided at that point ands matches were not fun anymore. Proof of this is that NSP, the third server involved, came en mass to watch the battle.

We contributed the whole week,everyday and at all hours so we felt we could take 1 hour from WVW and dedicate it to a “fair” fight. If you don’t agree with that, then fine, just don’t GvG or duel if you don’t like it.

Btw, dislike for the dev’s attitude was so patent that the server not participating in the GvG was the one that spiked him

Good job to the Sbi militia commander that realized Langor was a trap and decided to treb it instead. We had to make do with less Acs but it was still a good fight

Overall, I quite liked this matchup. Good fights to be had, both zerg, guild and individually based.

One last thing, I just want the Anet employee that was complaining about our GvG to identify himself and explain his comments, as they seem really out of place on a game called GUILD wars

The fight at Durios in EB was extremely fun. Same with Bravost. Those numbers are really imposing SBI, but I think we held our own on those fights.

And then a nice 1-1 against a roamer NSP thief. Overall, a nice fight.

Until you hit 80 just find the blue Dorito on the map and follow the commander while you capture camps, towers, keeps, etc. You will level really fast that way and you will be more useful than if you were on your own.

Once you level up all the way to 80, you can start doing other jobs: havok, scout, ninja, yak escort/slapper, you name it.

By design, zerging will give you the most exp. Bear in mind that killing stuff (champs excluded) in wvw makes for lousy exp gains; on the other hand, capping stuff gives the most exp in wvw.

Mixing wvw with world bosses daily will get you to lvl 80 really fast.

If there’s anyone on DH that’s looking for a WvW guild, you’d better join PD. As someone said before: “they do a LOT of behind the scenes work, with their havok and ninja teams, but never take the credit”. You guys are the perfect guild to coordinate with.

I’m the newest addition to the guild. Have to say, my first impression was really good. Guildies were doing WvW training and everyone was following Logain’s instructions to the letter.

Seems like a fun environment and I’m sure I’ll improve my WvW game with these guys.

Ok guys, I had some time and a decent connection for a couple of days so I ended up talking with a few guys. In the end, I decided to transfer to IoJ.

My main reason was that I wanted to try WvW from a new perspective, on a PvP server and in a WvW-focused guild. There’s a chance that IoJ might end up in the gold league for season 1, but ppl seem really excited and hoping to test their skill against higher ranked servers. The same could be said about SBI but you guys seemed like you already had a lot of coverage and I’m actually looking forward to fighting against you. I also narrowed it out to servers with “High” pop only.

Thanks to all the ppl that contacted me, every server has its merits and you guys sure do know how to point out the good side. I could make a point for HoD, ET and GoM, really tough opponents in WvW and loyalist player base.

All that’s left is to wish everyone from DH good luck with everything, there’s some pretty awesome and cool ppl there, extremely friendly and made me feel really welcomed. Guilds like [Fall] [Oops] and [Beer] exist to make good friends, you guys rock. Best of things to everybody there.

Have gotten nice messages from various servers, some of them I did not expect. As I’m not able to log in the game til friday, I’ll keep checking the forums (tethering from my phone right now xD) and I’ll start messaging ppl in-game. I’m set about remaining in the silver league, mainly because of the scale and scope of the fights are what I’m looking for.

Really grateful for all the PM I have received, I know it will not be an easy decision, specially since I’m looking for a permanent new home. I don’t think i’ll be transferring again so I want to choose carefully.

Another thing that’s important for me is off-hours coverage and defense. Don’t you hate it when you spend all night capping and flipping stuff just to check the score next morning and see all your hard work gone to waste? I know I do.

I’m good for gems (for a High pop server that is) so I won’t need help with that, maybe some of you spare siege xD cuz I’ll be poor for a while, but that’s allright. Hope to keep reading what you have to say about your server/guild

Mainly, I just want to WvW without being constantly outmanned. It can be fun and rewarding to cap stuff while outnumbered, but I just hate it when it’s time for defense and there’s no one to rally on you

Hey guys, I’m a lvl 80 necro (guardian alt on the works) duking it out at DH. WvW is pretty much all I do in game and you can usually find me commanding at all hours, as my work hours are pretty flexible. After our 2 biggest WvW guilds left, I’ve been disappointed at the response from the PvE community at my current server and I’m looking for some place where ppl enjoy WvW as much as I do.

Right now I’m open to all suggestions tho waiting on a queue to play is not my idea of fun.

Things I bring to the table:

-Commander Tag
-Bronze assaulter rank and WvW exp
-Fluent in english and spanish
-TS3 user
-Open to suggestions and learning new stuff
-Unless something really urgent comes up, I log in everyday

Have been away for vacation so I haven’t logged in a week or so. I’ll be back home on friday and I’ll make my decision by fri-sat.

Hope to hear your suggestions, pref. on the silver league, which I have been told is more competitive and less prone to zerg blobs.
