Playing in the top group of NA servers in WvW has been a blast. So far this week we are all within 500 points of each other and a different server keeps taking the lead. We have also been putting together dungeon groups literally every night for the past two weeks.

Let's see some thief pics

We have been very lucky. Since launch; out of every applicant we accepted only one has left (in which he left after 30 minutes of being invited) So I would say we are doing something right XD

Apply while we are still accepting all classes and levels and find out why we are having such a good time together!

I rebooted my client and my FPS is back to 60. Odd I changed zones, and changes settings even lowering my settings a lot I was stuck at 15-20 frames. Issue seems to be gone now.

Title says it all. I read the patch notes and don’t see anything that could cause this. I was running the game completely maxed at 50-60 FPS. Now even after lowering several settings I still sit at 15-20 FPS.

What gives? Anyone else see this happen to them?

We have been getting about one solid member a day, not including the applicants that just don’t quite make it. Yesterday was an even better day. We got about 5 applications in that were all fantastic. We are growing steady in the guild wars 2 division, come check us out while it’s still early.

Since Yoshi has taken on the position of WvW and PvP leader he has already shown quite a bit of promise. He is a very skilled player himself but most of all, like a lot of us at Animosity, he is a great teacher. He never cuts people from the team due to skill, but instead focus’ even more on helping them. Join our forums and talk to Yoshi or myself for more info, or message / mail us in game. We would love to get a few more good members.

We are part of the Stormbluff Isle alliance which includes its own TeamSpeak 3 server for WvW as well, and we have had a great start to WvW as well as other aspects of the game. We have a good amount of players in GW2 and everyone has kept playing since launch, as well as a few great additions to the guild since launch.

We are still recruiting all classes and all levels at this time.

We also do have a recording of our Pre-Launch Guild meeting on our home page.

ANIMOSITY:
Animosity is a tight-knit gaming community involved with multiple MMOs, FPSs, RTSs and even PnP. We are comprised of 18+ mature, skilled and dedicated gamers based all over the world (US, EU, AU) who have years of gaming experience between them. Our recruitment process is focused and specific and our ambition is to build a strong community of fun, easy going yet dedicated gamers for each game that we enter. Animosity is constantly changing and evolving to make sure that we are as well organized as is possible for the games that we seek to progress in.

PHILOSOPHY:
We strongly believe that real life comes first. We know that random events change our daily lives, and no guild or game should expect you to suffer for taking care of whatever matters most in your own life. Whilst we strive for success in all of our games, we understand life’s obligations. We are all here to hang out and game, at the same time as building a group of skilled gamers who can work together well to overcome whatever challenge is thrown at them. We are not against trimming the herd; we don’t allow periods of inactivity of over 4 weeks (unless due to military service or extenuating circumstances) without scrutiny and we conduct monthly inactivity checks to coincide with our inactivity policy: must be active in-game, VoIP and on the forums.

COMMUNITY:
Our community is orientated towards the “casual” mindset with particular reference to “community”. But that does not mean that we do not game heavily. We raid hard modes. We do PvP brackets. And we strive to create a wonderful community that we all enjoy being apart of while maintaining a healthy level of competition within the games we play.
Animosity is a Gaming Community above everything else, and as a member of the Animosity community you are expected to be gaming regularly with your fellow guildmates.
In addition Animosity has alliances with other quality guilds, including Midnight Squadron, and other game specific guilds. We do everything we can to make sure our members have someone to game with and are able to game with the best.

OUR AGENDA:
Leaders: We as leaders and officers of the guild strive to be the most organized and active guild we can possibly muster, to stay on top of the game and keep our members happy. We seek to set the example and not dictate rules.
Guild: We seek to maintain our community through staying active and loyal to Animosity. We strive to work with our fellow members to smash faces in when we are in but always keep in mind that real life takes priority.

BACKGROUND:
Animosity was formed on the 14th of January 2009. Many of the initial members and leadership were apart of the guild A’a Netjer. We have a host of members of different backgrounds, including well known guilds such as Death and Taxes and Nihilum of World of Warcraft fame. We also have numerous multi-Rank 14 members, Arena Gladiators, Pre-CU /NGE Jedi and other members with hefty game-specific achievements not including our members with world first boss kills in World of Warcraft and Warhammer Online.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?:
- Mature 18+ Players
- Dedicated and loyal gamers
- Experience and understanding
- Fun, humor, responsibility
- Progressive mindset
- Active

WHAT IT TAKES TO BE A MEMBER:
Belief –
Animosity’s mission is to build a strong loyal community of gamers that enjoy each others company and competition. We Strive to create a friendly gaming atmosphere where you can kick back and smash some faces in.
Loyalty –
It is extremely important to maintain a high level of loyalty to the community you are apart of and have helped to grow and progress. If you have other friends that you game with who are not a member of Animosity, your primary loyalty must be with Animosity. We accept that real life and other commitments come first.
Skill -
As a member of Animosity you are expected to have a decent amount of skill but as long as you try and improve you should fit in just fine.
Gamer Etiquette -
All members of Animosity are required to have basic manners. With a large guild, there are going to be members who simply don’t get along or see eye to eye. As long as we can all work politely together with progression and our mission in mind, we can stay afloat.

Activity Policy -
1. Active In-Game
2. Active within VoIP
3. Active within the Animosity Forums

More on Weapon skills and customization

I know this is a big topic all over the place, but I believe I have a new idea to solve the problem.

I think one of the major concerns for Anet is being able to balance things effectively. This is what I think is limiting how much customization we currently have. I do fully realize how much customization we do have, I really do but I feel like adding a little love to the left side of our health bar would be the best next step GW2 could make. However, I’m not going to ask for my weapon skills to be as customized as my utility skills, because I understand the challenges of class balancing.

1)
That being said I think it would still be an awesome improvement to just have two options for each weapon skill, and this wouldn’t be terribly difficult to balance. For example you equip a weapon set, and you can chose skill A or skill B in slot #1, skill C or skill D is slot #2, ect. So each skill of the 5 weapon skills has two choices. That way if you like a weapon combination but never use one of the skills, or don’t like it, you at least have one other option. At least make this an option for skills 2-5, and leave 1 an auto attack. You could unlock the second weapon skill for each slot as you level 30-80, instead of from using the weapon more. This would keep from overwhelming new players with too many skills right away, and solve the problem of bored players in the 30-80 area. Weapon skills need some love, and so does leveling from 30-80.

2)
Another thing that will help with customization a lot is allowing us to save at least two builds, being able to switch builds whenever we are not in combat. Having two sets of armor/weapons that switch when you switch your build would be fantastic as well.

I do believe Anet wanted us to feel a sense of permanence in our build, and didn’t want us to keep going to the trainer to change our build, but there are way too many situations where players have to do change their build. Between open PvE, dungeons, WvW, sPvP, there is just too much variety for only one build. I would actually feel more permanence from having two set builds I switch between than having to go talk to the training all the time for a reset. I think having to go to the training does not make people pick one build to use everywhere, it just makes it painful to switch builds and try new things.

A perfect example is how much I enjoy playing a heavy support role in dungeons, but it really doesn’t work that well elsewhere, it isn’t fun in WvW, and solo play is WAY to slow without more damage. Let me make a second build for those areas that I can easily switch to and my second set of gear auto swaps when I switch builds.

Tested, it scales off each individual players condition damage.

Guess I will have to grab a friend and test on two of the same mob, changing my condition damage between mobs.

Mace/focus is amazing tanky support. I am struggling to figure out what I like most on second set but I am thinking either Staff or scepter/shield. I’d like to have one set be ranged for when you just have to back out.

I am working on a bit of a hybrid build, tanky/support with burning being the only major damage output, so this is important to know, as I will be balancing Vit/Tough/healing, and probably condition damage.

When you use virtue of justice and enable all nearby allies to have their next attack cause burning, does that burning effect THEY apply go off of your condition damage or each individual players?
