I wonder what about the Black Lion Harvesting tools, that were Rare item quality in theory, but actually the same quality with far fewer uses than the regular tools

I put 4 green festival minis (3 snowman and 1 of the other ones) in the mystic forge and I got a REGULAR green one (dredge mining suit). Obviously kitten #8230;. why did they make the minis so hard to come by… and account bound to make it worse?

Getting butter and all those was really cute from starting areas/low level bags… not so much from the high end areas/bags

I’d much rather they removed the WvW part instead…

I placed a ticket a day or so ago (121002-000479) and got a confused reply… I just updated it again… in the simpliest words I could come up with… fingers crossed.

Hi there! it’s a random bug… which makes it harder to resolve… still waiting on acknowledgement that the bug is being looked at

It seems to happen the most with jewels… but it has also happened with regular items… confirmed it happens on multiple servers… still no answer or acknowledgement that the issue exists

If they keep records of what gets traded and who trades what (and we all know they do) then it’s about their willingness to do the RIGHT thing! They know who we (the ones that got ripped off, betrayed, scammed, call it whatever you want) are.

Anet, will you do the right thing and give us the armor we paid for?

I think it is quite evident that the entire (or most) of the ANet team have taken a long holiday after their launch of the game.

More than 1 week since the last game update; leaving many, many bugs and exploits still going unfixed (including this).

I wouldn’t say they are on a holiday… there are other bugs that really needed to be fixed (there were some seriously, seriously bugged skill points in Cursed Shore… and the Mystic Forge bug which still hasn’t been addressed…)

Still, an acknowledgement of the issue takes very little effort…

I agree with A.Net on this one. I love not seeing the constant spamming of WTS WTB. If you make a deal with somebody you can either trust the mail system, or post it in the TP and they can buy from you in there. TP will be more stable and has been improving and the 15% tax, well that is the cost of business imo.

Yay for A.Net for this system, they have a fan in me for not giving in on this subject. You can gift, trade with a trusted person, or trade through the TP system. If you trust them, use mail, if you don’t then use TP. The 15% tax on that is the cost of ensuring they don’t run off with your stuff. All is good in the world of A.Net and you get much less in the way of spamming and scamming.

So most of the supporters essentially resent a visual inconvenience they can simply turn off…

For those who say that selling outside the Trading Post will destroy the trading post, I can assure you it won’t. I can’t count the number of MMOs that have both public trading and auction houses that have shown time and time again both will prosper.

You want me to report any time I get scammed through the nonsecure, non-checking method of sending a mail in hopes I won’t get scammed, but putting a secured “every one checks yes” trading box encourages scamming?
That’s asinine. I can’t imagine how many reports you’re going to get per day on this.

I agree with key parts of your comment. It also makes me wonder if the purpose of the TP is simply to exist as a tool that reduces the amount of complaints and support tickets. If so, I think it will fail.

There are already complaints about misleading items… and if people believe that one of the objectives of the TP is being fair then invariably they will see tickets due to valuation/devaluation of items.

Still, I stick to my original premise, which is that having both options (P2P and TP) is better than just having the TP. Some people hated all the shopping and buying going around in trade channels, some people loved it. The option of turning chat channels off existed in GW1 and exists in GW2.

Yeah… they are having a tough week… I am patient, but this is a bug that worries me (Anet, just imagine the reaction of a player not losing a few masterwork, rare or even exotic items… but the components for a legendary weapon… it would be too much)

And as it is, the one thing I want is for Anet to agree that the bug exists and it will be looked at. Even though I’ve lost over 12 items (masterwork and rare) I can and will wait for whatever sort of fix they can come up for them… but the one thing that ticks me off is that we haven’t even received a proper acknowledgement of the issue.

I’d definitely cut Anet some slack on this… yeah, they already got their plate full. There are more serious game breaking bugs (like the Mystic Forge being broken… not going to drop that one)

But then again, making an expert guess on the feasibility of fixing the problem (and I think we can all agree it is quite feasible) and committing the resources needed to do it at a future time is a far better response than what has been given so far.

This is turning to be about customer service… and as someone mentioned above, trust.

I’d rather get the armor I wanted in the beginning (exotic berserker draconic armor) than gems… just saying…

TP is great to sell stuff with the least amount of attention on your part… and when you are not online, that is pretty sweet.

But on the not so great side of things, TP costs extra, it’s a hassle to receive items if you are in an explorable zone, completely anonymous, gives no one to complain to if something is amiss, has hugely reduced flexibility… and if you are the first to own an item you can forever spoil it by setting whatever price comes to mind. TP will simply instruct everyone else to match it.

I still fail to see how the TP is more secure than regular person to person trading. It certainly is more secure than mail, but mail is a poor trading method to begin with.

Also, it is absolutely useless if you want to sell an item to someone specific.

While we understand the want for P2P trading, we feel that the Trading Post works well for accomplishing fair deals and keeping individual users protected from those with less-than-pure-intentions.

Again, while we know that the majority of players would use a P2P system within its intended design, creating they system may place the global economy at risk, as well as some players.

The TP is ok… It is a nice feature for those who choose to use it… but it limits our experience as long as it is the only option… I am not advocating to go back to only Player to Player… I am advocating having both systems and let the user freely decide which one suits his or her needs best. There will be instances where TP will work better than P2P and vice versa.

In short, this is a bugged and hugely misleading item that can be bought from the TP. Most of the people (myself included) that have been affected by this feel ripped off… and yet who do we have to report? who ripped us off? the TP? or another player? at least in P2P I know who scammed me… The truth is, TP does not give me any extra security over P2P.

This really sucks, how difficult can it be to just switch out the items or something to that effect. My friend has had an item restored to him (Tome of Influence) when he used it by accident.

Fine, they don’t have the tools to reimburse. But they do have the tools to determine who bought said item, they have the ability to generate the right item and they have the ability to mail items. They also have the ability to remove or edit such a misleading item from the game.

So, mail us the right armor! It’s not like we would be able to profit from this, the armor we got is worthless once soulbound.

I don’t know how to make a poll (or even if it is possible with this board), but I’d like Anet to know the opinion that some of their users have when it comes to trading.

The trading post is ok (definitely NOT great)… but I’d like the option for player to player trading (aka GW1 style) to come back as well.

I’d rather trade directly with my seller… we could haggle over the price, trade for items and even buy random items “in bulk”… options that are either limited or non existant on TP… not to mention that sneaky 15% (list & trade) tax…

On a more personal note, I remember standing around in Kamadan like an eagle for “that trade” to be exciting and fun (and later on the only reason to play GW1 at all). Some people hated the place, some loved it… for me, it enriched my experience.

I got fooled into this too… I dont even like (read, strongly dislike!) the look of gladiator armor… this totally spoiled my day yesterday… sucks to see so many other people got fooled as well… Anet should do something about this, but I highly doubt they will

After testing a theory I can confirm this is a server issue (Jade Quarry)… moved to Kaineng and the Mystic Forge works fine. Of course this doesnt fix the items I lost, but at least it made me move to a server that works (bugged skill points, pvp issues… Jade Quarry is SEVERELY messed up)

Edit: 4 Green jewels gone in Kaineng… no reward… this Mystic Forge thing is broken

I’ve lost 8 items… I might as well lose 4 more and make a youtube video of this… just to prove this IS a bug that needs fixing… stay tuned

After hearing from other guildies that it is working fine I give it another go… 4 level 80 jewels… silly me… I SHOULD have known better… they were gone just like that

At the very least, I want an acknowledgement that the Mystic Forge IS BUGGED!!!!

While we would like to replace your items, the Guild Wars Support Team is unable to replace individual items or characters in the manner that you are describing. We simply do not have the tools to provide this service at this time.

Please let us know if you have any other questions or concerns.

Needless to say, I’m not too thrilled with the response I got… I replied back saying that they should at least give me 4 random items similar to the ones I lost… we’ll see if they reply.

After the last update, I was able to place 4 gold items on the mystic forge… but after clicking forge the items just went away and I didn’t get anything (the usual Zomoros gives you whatever message didn’t even come up)
