Any tips how to actually get a group for dungeons, i’m really struggling to find people to run with. I’ve tried a couple of servers and different guilds. Everyone seems more interested in zergfesting WvW. Are there any servers where dungeon groups are not a miracle to find?
ah ok, i’ve added you. Add me and if you do any arah runs and i’m online i would be happy to tag along and see how its done.
I am interested. I haven’t done a full run yet since the patch but nobody on my server or guilds won’t go near arah…

I believe this is down to initiative, i mean look at it this way giving someone a limited resource for their abilities one ability is going to become the main ability. I mean why should i waste my initiative on a blind when i could stun them and chop though them AGAIN?
as long as this is happening people are going to figure out builds that empower the 1 ability.
I want to display my helmet but it is looks so ridiculous.
Well i know i’ll not be doing any dungeons until some major changes are implemented. I really don’t see what i will gain out of spending all my money on repair bills, farming countless times for some gear that will not progress me in any way.
I agree, this system doesnt work unless you’re in a good group with communication. They implemented stuff like dynamic events and share-able nodes to help encourage people to play together and make the community stronger than they implement stuff like this. Which means majority of PUGS will fail… Spending hours of trying for no reward at all.
Sometimes it feels like the dungeons are tuned for people with permanent swiftness and infinite dodge rolls, it doesn’t really help that some classes have limited utility in dungeons due to the nature of their skills.
Melee is still a terrible idea 90% of the time due to high damage, non-telegraphed moves, low combat mobility and some very melee unfriendly mechanics, like that one boss in CoF story mode that has a 900+ range aura that burns anyone within range.
I couldn’t say what i wanted to say much better than this, in my experience it is the trash that are overtuned especially as melee as mekboss said with high damage attacks that you have zero time to react to. Bosses are simple to be honest, Most i’ve encountered require you to follow simple tactis and stay out of obvious’.
And as Lokai said above. We shouldn’t be forced to play weapon sets that we do not enjoy, I chose to play a thief as i enjoy the close combat classes, I’ve always played these sort of classes in the games I’ve played and i will continue to do so as i enjoy them. Why should i be forced to play short bow or pistol / pistol so i don’t die every time a mob looks at me funny…

I have to agree, just spent the last hour trying to do Arah explorer with a pug. The bosses, no problem at all, simple tactics to follow easy enjoyable fights. The trash is where the problem is… In my opinion the trash are harder than the bosses themselves. Take a trash pack with to Risen Mages in and it becomes a real ball ache to keep out of AoEs, kill others before they’re healed back up and keep yourself alive. The amount the trash hit is also a joke, Especially trying to melee you have no idea when a mob is going to turn around and smack you for over half your health… I chose to play a thief because i like the game play of close combat classes, I do not want to be forced to play range. If i wanted to play range i would have chosen a ranger or so.
