You seem to know absolutely everything about videogame politics, as well as and the subtle workings of human psychology. Thank you for your in-depth analysis.

And if you are going to condescendingly link definitions, at least use TV Tropes. Nobody takes UD seriously: http://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/pmwiki.php/Main/MarySue

Thank you for the translation Simplicity!

REQUEST

I have another one ( I did actually try this one myself, but it appears I suck at this…)

Lily’s Song from Legend: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kM7wt_VdFQA

That video is actually a mash up of all the times she sings in the movie, and there is a nice part at 2:15 that differs, if someone feels like adding that in as well.

REQUEST I have always loved this little piece that I heard as a kid, and wondered if someone had translated it into game yet:

Thanks in advance if anyone gets it!

I had six login attempts from various places in China over the past 12 hours. Discovered them when I woke up this morning. the bulk of the verification messages went to my email spam folder, which is why I assume they had to try so many times before they realized that’s what was happening. The good news though is that when I logged on, it seems nothing is out of place or missing. I changed my password to something stupidly hard. I would also like to change my email address as well, but I can’t seem to find a place to do that. Can I do that?

I am going to assume for now that this was partially my fault, seeing as most account compromises spring from poorly guarded information, though I am usually very careful with my own.

I still have no idea where I could have misused it though, since this site and the game login are the only places I used this email or password.

I would also like to see an authentication option other than the app, since I don’t have a smartphone.

Edit: here is the complete list of the I.P.s that tried to access my account, starting at 3:56 am US mountain time:

Edit again:

I should probably also mention that after running MalwareBytes and Symantec I still have not detected a virus or keylogger. I’ll check a few more times with other programs.

3)story concept/originality (1-boring…10-captivating) – 7
4)loot/reward (1-lost all my money…10-gained amazing items) – 1
5)stability (1-extremly buggy…10-no bugs) – 1
6)network connection/speed (1-laggy,disconnections, 10 – perfect connection) – 2
7)mini events length (1-to long/short…10-just right) – 10
8)overall event length (1-to long/short…10-just right) – 6
9)overall Satisfaction (1-worst experience ever,10-best experience ever) – 3

I tried to do the precursor events. I thought I was just doing them wrong until I found out that most of them were fatally bugged.

I was disconnected three times from the final event instance, and never was able to finish on account of being kicked back to an overflow server every time I logged back in (third time was from a server restart).

I would also like to add that as a low level player ( my highest is lvl 33), The repair costs got so crippling that I ended up having to stop on the account of not having enough silver for repairs. This is after pooling most of the silver from my alts as well.

I don’t HATE the event. I more or less hate the things that went wrong with the event. There were some pretty big stability issues (that Anet has already acknowledged, and hopefully will address soon), and that is mostly what killed it for me.

I would love to see Anet make a suggestions thread (it would probably get a thousand posts in the first five minutes of it’s existence). I think a lot of people would have some very constructive suggestions on how the event could have been improved.

So in short, I like what Anet was trying to do. They just did not do it very well.

Even it out: Reward those who played.

I support this solution. There were a myriad of problems with this whole event, and the Devs have made it clear that they are aware of them. I spent roughly six hours total on the final event, was disconnected twice, sent to a new overflow every time I logged in, and then was kicked from the server because of the 10pm server restarts. The first time I lost connection we had the final Karka boss to a third of his health, the event almost over. Many of my friends and guildmates reported having the same problems, and I think it’s safe to say now that a large majority of the player base faced the same issues.

I think in this instance a blanket reward would be appropriate, seeing as the vast majority of players probably did take part in the event anyway. I feel my efforts and contribution to the event were more than enough to receive the reward.

Disconnected at the final phase! [Merged]

I had the same issue. My group ran for three hours, we had the boss to a third of it’s health, and then my game crashed. I logged back in to find myself in an overflow server. Three hours for nothing.

charr totally ate them all.

A guy I work with claims to have actually eaten horse (he was in Mongolia at the time, it’s a pretty common food source there). He says it was quite tasty.

Thank you for the responses. I suspected that was the case, but I was still kind of hopeful that if you climbed high enough they might be visible as scenery in the distance ( that would honestly have been enough for me), or might have been around in GW1.

If it’s just random concept art (albeit awesome concept art), then maybe this area is planned for a later expansion. (fingers crossed).

I’m likely necroing an old thread, but with the advent of the Halloween event, I think it’s worth mentioning that one of the ghosts from the first part of the Mad Memories quest met her demise when her horse trampled her:

Both my friend and I were in considerable awe over those statues and made it our personal mission to find them in game.

We have completed the entire zone and have yet to see them.

So my question is, do they actually exist? Because I am going to feel very lied to if they don’t.

If so, what lore is behind them? (Never played GW1).
