As much as I love the Mad King’s Clocktower, I keep finding myself joining instances that are almost expired. Could you fix this devs? Would be great if you could add more time to the clock or make it a permanent instance. Thanks! Happy Halloween!
Whenever I try to enter the jumping puzzle, it spits me back out in Divinity’s Reach. Is anyone else having the same problem?
I’ve been reviewing this topic over the last couple days, just busy with work and stuff. I like where it’s gone. To be honest, when I started the topic, I wanted to make a somewhat humorous post about a topic that I’d really like to see looked at.
The end game of Guild Wars 2 is largely, if not almost entirely, aesthetic. I am not particularly unhappy with the armor sets that we have currently, but I would like to see a lot more variety and attention given to male armor sets. It seems that the females of Tyria have much more varied armor skins whereas the males (as has been discussed to exhaustion on the forums) are a lot less fortunate in their wardrobe choices. For example, all medium armor sets are basically trenchcoats.
Ideally, I would like to see more skimpy armor too, but really, I just want more armor variety for male characters period.
I’m just saying we need more like that feathered armor, but for mid armor classes. I’m totally on board for the nip pasties though.
Seriously though, this is something I would love to see more of
Okay, I know I’m not the only one who’s thinking this. We get it, in video games, more exposed flesh means better armor. At least, that seems to be the train of thought when it comes to the women of Tyria. Before any of you get mad at me for my somewhat sarcastic tone, it’s alright, I accept that that’s the way it is, but can I suggest we try the same thing for the strapping males in our fantasy world?
Arena net, sex sells as the revealing feminine armor sets have clearly shown, well you also have a decent female and gay male player base and we would love to see some attention over here. Nothing quite says, “Fear me!” like charging in to battle half naked because, why the kitten not? I know that there are a lot of things on your plate, but I just wanted to toss this idea out there. The male body is a beautiful thing so let’s celebrate it the same way we celebrate our beautiful women: with tastefully revealing armor skins!
Apparently everyone’s lagging now. Any word on this?
Just so you’re aware, if you gave it a bad review because of Hero Points and Elite Specs, Anet has heard you and you should now go update your reviews to accurately show how you really feel about the game now

Thanks for the update to the Hero Point Requirement Anet! For all of you that reviewed the game horribly, you better go change that now!
How would you rate the HoT Fun Factor?

7/10
I really enjoy the new content and the difficulty of the new zones. My biggest concern is that after the initial hype of the release wears off we may not have enough people in these maps to successfully neat some of these quests.
I love the new story content and having my character’s voice actor make a return was a great personal touch.
My biggest issue with HoT is the elite spec grind. Some people may enjoy map completion, but with the 5 or so lvl 80 characters I have, only one of them has 100% core game map completion and my second place character is about 45% I don’t want to go through core Tyria to get my elite spec at a ridiculously slow pace, but the amount of time and grind required to get the masteries necessary to get all the Maguuma skill points is ludicrous. I want to play HoT with my elite spec, not play HoT to get my elite.
So, granted there’s that gripe, but aside from that I really do love the game. They’ve made a lot of great improvements and it’s very easy to see how hard they have worked to produce this really quite engaging expansion

So, I have no problem with needing to do more work to get my hero’s elite spec completely unlocked, I’m just unhappy with how long it will take me. I feel like after I have all the work done to finish unlocking my elite spec there won’t be any more exploring for me to do. That’s what I find distasteful about how many hero pointsI need to fully unlock my Elite :/
I tried searching, nothing came up under Halloween skin
So, I’m kind of frustrated as to Halloween weapon skins costing 2 black lion tickets a piece. Is there any particular reason for that?
Okay, I’ve got to toss my two cents in here. I hate the new daily system. I’m a purely PvE player. I used to be able to get my daily just by playing how I wanted to play. I can’t do that anymore. Plus, there is no real reward for getting your daily accomplished. I have no desire to do my daily now. I seriously log in for the log in chest and then I go back to some other game instead. Also, I’m upset that the monthly achievement tree is gone too. This was a seriously bad idea Anet.
I have been really pleased with Season 2 of the living story. I love seeing the references back to Guild Wars 1 and I really like the introduction of new rewards. I have really enjoyed earning my luminescent shoulders. I am only one light armor skin away from getting them. I feel like making Caithe’s blossom available through bandit seal vendors made the luminescent shoulders really accessible to the entire player base. Some people might have gotten too frustrated with the story achievements, I have definitely been there before, and would just rather purchase the blossom. The only suggestion that I have is that I would either increase the drop rate of the episode specific currency (in this case, bandit seals), or drop the price of the shoulder skins. It has been rather dull grinding for the seals to purchase my last skin. I feel like players should earn 1000 seals no problem, but the second thousand gets kind of monotonous.
I largely missed out on Living Story season 1 for various reasons and while I have gotten myself caught up on the story through the internet, I would be willing to pay for those past episodes to actually play through them and bring my character up to speed instead of dropping my main character (and others I’m just getting to lvl. 80) right in the middle of season 2 with characters he knows and cares for very little.
One other suggestion I have is to bring back the voice actors for the player characters. I would like to see my character have some spoken dialogue and conversational cut scenes similar to those in my personal story.
All in all I have been extremely impressed with the quality of the content in the living world season 2. This last episode completely blew me away and left me wanting more. Every day I rush home from school to see if the next episode has been announced. You and the team are doing a fantastic job Leah! Keep it up!
I know that much of the community has expressed that Halloween from year 1 was far more enjoyable than last year’s Halloween. This has been something that has been said over and over again both last year around Halloween and this year as we’ve gotten closer to it. I know it’s a little too soon to say, but I’m disappointed that it looks like we’re getting the Mad Prince instead of the Mad King’s story. While I’m still not ruling out the possibility of the scavenger hunt returning, my one hope is that we’ll see the Mad King fight come back. I try to be helpful in my criticism and suggest ways to improve instead of tearing the developers down. I’ll wait until the patch actually comes out to really pass judgement on it, but I’m not looking forward to it as much as I had been.
I whole-heartedly agree. I loved last year’s Halloween event, but this year seems kind of off. I completed the meta achievement already and I don’t have anything else to look forward to. The bloody prince was a serious let down compared to fighting the mad king last year. That was probably the most fun I’ve had in the game period. That dungeon and boss battle were so much fun! I loved the story behind the Mad King and the story that led me all over Tyria to get the back armor. I still wear it just because it’s so cool! The story this year had potential, but I feel like it was wasted. If it took Anet suspending their every two week updates for a month before Halloween to give us an event like last year, I would say it would be worth it.
Please, please, please instance the kites Anet!

+1 I really want pants for my thief. I don’t want different styles of madresses, I want pants!
I wanted to post another thank you here because I think our dev team needs to hear it from us more. Thank you for letting us know of the server maintenance well ahead of time this time around. The last time I remember running in to server maintenance, it ran for several hours and I was thoroughly annoyed because I couldn’t get any updates and I had no idea when I’d be able to play again. Thanks for keeping us in the loop this time.
I don’t think Anet hears enough “thank you”s so, I thought I’d just take a moment to show my appreciation for one thing I asked for that did happen. Thank you Anet for removing the monthly WVWVW kills from the monthly. I love WVWVW, but I can rarely participate because I lag so much in it. Thank you for listening to myself and other players and removing it from the monthly!
I just think that it’s ridiculous the amount of materials crafting these legendaries require. Correct me if I’m wrong, but each one requires at least 250 of each T6 mat. I think that if that isn’t a grind red flag, I don’t know what is. I love playing this game, but I also love having a bed to sleep in, having my tuition paid, and having food to eat while I play this game. I believe that the large majority of GW2 players are, like me, normal people with jobs who have needs outside of GW2, who don’t have massive amounts of hours to dump in to this game. That doesn’t mean that I don’t want Sunrise or that I don’t want it “bad enough” it means that I need to earn real life money to provide for real life needs and I just don’t have the endless hours currently required to dump into the Mystic Toilet to get my legendary. All I’m asking for is more aesthetically pleasing game avenues open to players such as myself. Yes, I’d like Legendary to actually be a mark of being legendary and not so much a mark of, “Wow, you have no other life outside of this game do you?” or, “You just got lucky over and over again at the MF, didn’t you?”
I agree with the overwhelming consensus. This needs to be separated from PvE completion.
So, I’m seeing a common trend in some people’s dissatisfaction with the final quest in the personal story line and I agree with them. I was really sad to get to the fight with Zhaitan with my main and have my character not be included in the cut scenes. Actually, I have never had my character be “the talker” in any of the dungeon’s I’ve done either. I think that there’s just a really simple solution to this: Have each player’s character show up as the one that’s talking in the cut scene. I realize that coding is a messy thing and the solution might not be as simple as I and other players who are unfamiliar with programming might like to think, but I think that the idea deserves a little looking in to. Thank you for all your hard work and effort at making this game an enjoyable experience for all of us.
This sounds a lot more crucial of an issue to address than many of the other things on this board. I mean, I’m not color blind myself, but I would hate to have my game play limited because of my genetics.
That sounds super convenient!
I would also really like to see some non-trench coat armor sets for medium armor users, but I absolutely agree with the need for pants for light armor as well.
I just wanted to toss my two cents in. Frankly, I’m sorely disappointed with the amount of time it has taken to fix this quest. I have enjoyed my Guild Wars 2 experience so far, but if this isn’t fixed fast, I’ll make sure that none of my friends or family waste their time or their money on this.
