Please give us chairs to actually sit on
in Guild Wars 2: Heart of Thorns

Actually… i remember City of Heroes had a sitchair emote (s), where would put your character on said position. That way you wont have to redo all chairs. Sure, depending the chair you’ll have characters feet clipping through the floor… but I’d prefer that over nothing.
Maguuma is harder than the rest of the world, kinda, but since it’s meant to expand the “endgame” I believe it was to be expected.
I main Ele, I ran on zerker gear on all but the last few bits, and didnt have much problem, but one needs to be smart, skills that reflect projectiles are good, as much stability as you can get is also encouraged. I soloed all of it and it was at a casual pace, a few hours every other day and finished last night.
Yes, the masteries take a bit, but they are account based and you only need like 6 points to complete the story, next time you do so it wont be gated.
If you need ideas regarding how your class can survive Maguuma better I’m sure we got people willing to help.
I think the wording of the post pretty much leads us to believe they will only stop being dropped as loot.
With dyes becoming account unlocks, the demand for dye will decrease and unidentified dyes will no longer drop as loot but will still be available from the Mystic Forge and select in-game rewards.
I guess Laurels fall under that category
Something that every new Ele needs to know, it’s all about changing attunements constantly.
I can’t hit F1-F4 for the life of me when Im playing Ele, its too far from my movement/skills, so I have an alternate command for those to change attunement(I use Alt+1 through Alt+4), changing attunements makes you use all of your 20 skills. Some beginners are confused and assume that sticking to earth means Tankier, and automatically sticking to fire means more damage, when the healthy practice is to use all of your low recharge skills as often as possible while creating a rotation you are comfortable.
I would prefer expanding the TP, so GW2 is a complete free market.
So no more soulbound or account bound items in the game fullstop. Everything and I mean everything can be bought and sold on the trading post.
I’m all for removing the TP and letting us EARN our goods while PLAYING THE GAME, get rid of the gem store too.
You do realise your asking for GW2 to be shutdown don’t you, ie no more game fullstop…
As I told another respondant GW1 did/does just fine for the past 7 years without a TP and gem store...
Instead they released 3 games followed by 1 expansion, followed by 1 mini expansion, that all would cost very much real money.
Mantaining the instances in GW1 was easier, developing content was easier too cause it was always assumed around 8 characters and not worrying about anyone falling out,or jumping, just landscape to walk on… GW2 needs a lot mroe resources, and it’s not like GW2 is P2W like a lot other MMOs.
And to echo some people… The idea of spamming “WTS” on a town(nor sitting on a player made store or even browsing the countless possible ones) counts as a good system to me.
Why would you need to be rewarded for it in the first place?
Alpha-testing something would suggest you actually care and like the product, and thus making the product better would be more than enough reward.Does this explain how so many bugs make it through to live patches?
[Edit] Okay, now that I have the (well earned) snark out of the way… In CoH, they had a couple of Beta servers. People played on them freely for various reasons, and there was generally a good back and forth with the Devs about what was going on there. Some did it to improve the game. Some to get a handle on upcoming changes. Some, because they simply liked the challenge of breaking things without the down side of doing it on the live servers (where it might mess up their real characters).
Give us a server to test on, and people will find reasons to do it. Not everyone, not even a majority, but enough that you’ll get more testing and feedback than you’ll ever get from “in house” testing.
Even with the Training Room we still saw major bugs make it to live, so the fact we have that extra layer of testing doesn’t take away any chances of bugs once the patch hits live.
I do not know if there are players that helps test the game upcoming patches under an NDA, a lot of games have such meassures, and assuming they do or don’t do it would be an error on my part. But even if there are, I believe it should stay like that instead of an open-test environment like CoH was back in the day. While a few players wanted to genuinely help the game, that was a smaller community and even there we saw people that just wanted the test server to get the content first and spoil the story to everyone else.
I would really like to either see all the guild members on the map, or at least a posibility of bigger parties. World exploration can be fun, but when a guild event happens and you have 7 people, it starts to become a pain to keep track.
I like both ideas! I would preffer to keep Templates like on GW1, but at LEAST remembering the ones I had would be nice if as, let say an Ele, I want to change from Fire and Air into Earth and Water.
I love the fact we’ll be able to change traits to fit the terrain/situation we are in. Sometimes a build is better suit for solo than for team and vice versa.
However… how possible would it be to see the return of “templates” like on GW1? THAT would be the icing of the cake for me!
A while ago, probably QUITE a while ago, I read an interview regarding magic in the world of Guild Wars. I remember this being quite specific regarding some things, like the level of magic some people would have when compared to others and even going as far as to suggest magic could increase the lifespan of a human, and it wouldn’t be against the established lore.
Does anyone have the slightest idea of where I could find this? I was discussing longevity with a friend a while ago, and we both seemed to remember somewhat the interview/post from the dev but not quite much what it exactly said.
Thanks for the reply. I’m 23, started with Elemental Attunement – 10 pts in Arcane, switched to 10 in Water. Level 20 masterwork gear, mostly custom made for Vitality, all with minor runes. I dodge when I can, and use the evasive powers too. Usually I do S/D or S/F, but I’m trying D/D recently. In groups, I usually use staff.
I leveled in a very weird way, but didnt find it all that hard… granted, Im a bit hiperactive and tend to go running like crazy. So, trait wise I used 10/10/10/10/10, cause I didnt want to spend gold on books(I was really bad getting gold :P). What I mean with this is that traits can adapt to your playstyle, but Ele needs a bit more mobility. I mainly used staff though I am loving s/d now after hitting 80.
I would suggest that your next equipment is toughness instead of vitality though(please someone correct me if I’m wrong). I found that the health I got from Vitality didnt keep me alive as much versus when I went toughness. Ele already has the lowest health, so vitality doesnt tend to give them back as much as they do to someone else… Their armor on the contrary is the same as any other light armor users, which means toughness let you get a few more hits than you would normally, being a better boost for survival while leveling.
I never used conjured weapons, but I always kept my elementals(both util and elite) handy as well as either Arcane Shield or Mist Form(and sometimes both). they are mostly “panic butons”, but when combined with Auras at the right time on top of your toughness it should keep you alive.
Remember you can also use combo of keys, personally I use ALT +1/2/3/4
One of the great and most advertised things about GW2 is the capability of working with friends easily no matter where they are, currently with free transfers and hopefully soon with the guest system.
I think, however, that the party limit is a bit, well, limiting. I wish there was a way to have two teams gather up. Currently the Squad needs a commander, with a rather insane price of 100g, but my concern is about smaller groups, a gathering of 7 or so friends that want to team up. If they are forced to either be on the same guild or pay a lot of attention to not get lost and not being able to track the “second team” on the map, or simply people not able to notice they left someone behind.
I think a smaller squad option to PvE at least would be very benefitial for the community and have everyone on the same page when a small group of friends is playing but dont want to involve the whole guild on it.
Learning all your 20 skills is very important. I would suggest you chose one set of weapons for now and stick to them.
Change attunements fast. The strenght of the Ele is to have 20 skills available, not to have 5 and change them accordanly to other 5.
To make the above mentioned easier, maybe place a second macro for attunements. being able to switch attunements swiftly and easily is what makes this class be any good. The combination of macro I have been using and works for me so far has been; Alt + 1, Alt + 2, ect…
Idea: lets offer up changes to the class (one per person)
in Elementalist

I’d love for the summoned weapons to be more versatile, either by being able to swap them or to merge them into one skill that alternates depending on the attunement.
I didnt see this mentioned, but I found myself having an easier time with my elementalist once I put alternate binds for switching attunements. Hitting Alt+1 was way easier for me than hitting F1 for example, so if you find an easier way to switch attunements for quick cross-element combos, you’ll kill things a lot faster.
