PLEASE!
OMG I have very little time to play so when I spend 2 hours in COE story just to have the gollem you have to escort disappear leaving your party stuck and unable to progress! We killed ourselves, ran back and killed all the mobs, everything!
Do we REALY have to start ALL OVER?!
Can we not reset from last checkpoint?
Can we not get a HELP button so we can force the story to progress?
OR CAN YOU AT LEAST REMOVE STORY AS A REQUIREMENT TO DO EXP MODE?!
Story is already not worth doing as it is! Its unimportant! Exp is the only thing worth doing but NO you got to do story first…. It’s pointless.
All my time wasted!
Now I have to go to sleep SO I CAN GO TO WORK in the morning and I got nothing done today!
~Signed, kitten ed Off Player~
While running CoE Path 1 we reached the path where the golems respawn continually while player tries to disable the security console.
Issue is when player goes invisible. The golems will go to the middle by default but will not explode, however, if an invised player is standing near them they will explode.
We figured they explode by proximity… oh well.
So we stepped up our efforts and that’s when we noticed something odd. Random golems that spawned in during the event would target and follow invised players. I was sitting on top of the control panned and one ran up ON TOP of the control panel RIGHT where I was stranded and exploded. And another was actually chasing me around. We had players at all 4 spawn points agroing golems and these few golems would complacently ignore the other players and impartially agro the invised players.
The large golems on the other hand would ignore invisible players, until they AOEed. The golems that shoot out ice would always manage to land one of the AOEs right on top of the invised player no mater where the golem was or who it was attacking. The golem would launch an aoe that would target random spots around it on the map, however, one always landed on the invised player as if the player was not invised at all.
This seems to happen alot, some mobs just ignore invisibility, and in this case, it got so bad we were forced to abandon the dungeon. This has been a problem for a long time and NEEDS to be fixed!
This seems to happen after events that gather massive amounts of people. There was a Guild Bounty and Jormag in the the same area, then it happened during a guild party the other day when there was an entire guild in a newb area, and the time after that it was an area with 2 guild bounties.
I GOT ROLLED BACK EVERY TIME!
I lost everything several times and its not like ANet reimburses you for the items lost, not even the commendations or even an “we’r sry,” Its more like “the games broke, deal with it.”
I think the main problem is that ANet made the statement that you could take ANY combination of classes into a dungeon and complete it, but in trying to force players to use TACTICS what they have ended up with is the same problem that they end up with the same problems that plagued the HOLY TRINITY in where your tactics end up incorporating PARTY BUILDS so you end up with parties only inviting select classes for different dungeons.
You also have the problem with adding TACTICS and large amounts of boss HP is that players who WORK for a living may have 4-5 hours to play will be reluctant to run a dungeon that takes 2 hours especially if the rewards are not worth the time.
So to recap…
+ Classes Required
+ Long Run Times
+ Little Rewards
_______________
= Lack Of Interest
not likely, Path 1 is pretty easy BUT still takes a long time due to the HP of bosses.
Path 3, the mobs are easy but the bosses are insane.
Best tactic for the final boss is to clear out the spiders in front of the boss and range him.
If you have any type of AOE or reflective shot you will agro spiders.
SO MANY SPIDERS.
They stack poison on you and you will die in a few seconds.
Alot of people are going for legendary’s and you need like 500 tokens.
Me and everyone I (used to) run Dungeons with have been asking the same question;
What is up with the Dungeon Nerfs?
All the changes have been made to “Fix” the dungeons but when it causes people to stop running it, are you relay “fixing it?”
I know there are several problems such as “people only wanting to take select classes” or other people doing repetitive “speed runs” that I could see why ANet wouldn’t want that, as well as some actual buggs that need fixing.
The point is…
Speed runners will continue to find some other method of farming…
If a boss is too hard (not unbeatable just not worth playing) people will find easy ways of fighting it, if all the easy ways are removed, they will just stop running it and find other easy ways to farm.
The effect the “Fixes” will have is…
Dungeons are becoming not worth the effort, people will stop running it.
Bosses and dungeons become so difficult they take too long and too much in repaired that people stop doing them.
People with multiple character will be screwed when it comes to farming tokens.
New players or players that have yet to finish dungeons will be hard pressed to find a party, or at least one that can actually complete it.
What I am seeing is less people running dungeons, the price of dungeon mats and higher level armor skyrocket, LOTS of people not having story done, and the game becoming more focused about being the “Elite player” rather then being casual friendly.
Ok, first off I understand people wanting more difficulty, but this is a casual MMO so why ruin the experience of casual players? Can’t you add a difficulty option?
Add some sort of insensitive like Easy:0% Magic find, Med:2% MF, Hard:+5% MF?
Sometimes I do not have 2 hours to spend being careful when running a dungeon.
I also find that people who welcome the change are lv 80s running a lv 35 dungeon…
It’s a lv 35 dungeon, it is going to be easy for a lv 80 even with the lv scaled! Again, why cant it have been a difficulty option? As it is, a party of lv 35s will wipe. This will demoralize people who didn’t rushed to 80.
And good luck for lower lvs getting a party now. I would occasionally see someone only letting 80s join the party on even the most lowest lv dungeon before the patch, now almost every party I see want’s nothing but 80s.
Here is an idea, if you need more difficult content for all the lv 80s, why not MAKE NEW CONTENT rather then raise the difficulty on low lv runs.
Pretty much all I have been doing is running dungeons to get mats and money upgrade my armor which is now 10lvs lower then I am.
I can usually run several of them of them a day and I’m just one item away from what I need (soulboud, cannot buy)
Got home at 6, got on a little before 7, now it is 10 and I only did 1 run!
Given the drop rate, even with my armor filled with magic find, it is going to take a few weeks to get the item at this rate.
I’m sorry but this is not something I wish to do in my free time.
I’m going to log and see if things have been fixed in the morning. good night.
The current WP situation is totally unacceptable!
I’m all for “HARD” but only if you “WANT” it.
I WANT TO PLAY A QUICK FUN GAME BECAUSE I WORK ALL DAY!
The tweeking of dungeons has went way out of control.
CM went from “needing to be balanced” to “not worth running”
You could not even run it at the level is meant for!
Seriously, how can I enjoy this game when I’m missing BIG CHUNKS of it because I cant find a party because NO ONE WANTS TO DO IT!
Right now I have been waiting 3 hours for a party. Isn’t that one of the things you WANTED TO GET RID OF IN YOUR MMO?
Who is making these messed up decisions?
PS: I’m not waiting 4 months for you tweek things. Plz UNDO what you have done untill you can figure things out!

I would personally like to be able to UNLOCK designs for weps and armor when crafting.
When you craft an item you could select a design so your armor comes out with that look rather then the generic crafting design.
Soulbound of course and unlocked through recipe, level and gem store purchase rather then just obtaining the armor.
I would rather purchase crafting designs for crafting then I would for those transmuted costumes from the gem store.
I don’t understand why they went to the standard MMO separated servers rather then the “Channel System” from GW1.
It would make it a lot easier on players to team up if they could just switch channels, and they could decrease and increase them when population changed.
But then they would have to figure out a new way of doing WvWvW, but I never understood why they focused so much on that and left out the “Guild Wars” when the name is in the title.
They would also not be able to charge you for switching server. =P
It seems like they got a good idea and ran with it without considering the overall impact on the original design.
I think MMO’s go overboard with profession names as it is.
Anyone ever heard of the pugilist?
pugilist? WTF? Can’t you just call it a monk?
Chronomancer? WTF? Can’t you just call it a Time Mage?
Seriously, did they JUST discover a thesaurus or something?
Players already shorten the class names to 3 letters, take the hint. We like easy names.
Pugichronateratus! That’ll go ever well!
I would really like to know what server’s these people are on that keep complaining about low population. I usually play late in the day and at night when I would expect the server population to be low and never seem to be a shortage of people. Sure, there is not the hoards of people on like before but ever time there is an event or I’m downed, even if the map seemed empty, someone always appears to help.
The Halloween events have defiantly pulled people away from leveling. All event areas including LA are always full and I’m always thrown in OF.
Population dropping faster then SWTOR? LMAO not even close. That population dropped like a stone only a few weeks after launch.
I don’t think the population has dropped as much as people think. It’s just that the population has been spread over the entirety of the map. I can spend time on my high level and see no one, then switch to a low level and see lots of people and vise-versa
I disagree, next class needs to be monk.
Not the heal heal monk but the hit hit monk.
Even if not a Healing Class, it is still a classic GW1 character, which puts at the top of the list.
Weps: Fists(none), swords, focus, staves, knives
Builds: DOT, Cripple, Support
Armor: Light
Special: Chakra
Maybe after the Monk is released =D
Would it be possible to set all areas to night for the duration of the Halloween event?
Just an idea. It feels more Halloween-like at night, not so much during the day.

A short 30 sec example I’ve put together myself, illustrating some of the camera issues. It’s a bit tongue-in-cheek, but hopefully it gets the message across. Enjoy
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PegX3QH-gy0
I was forced to switch the camera to “Free Mode” which gets rid of many camera glitches but you are forced to control the camera by yourself.
GOOD NEWS for multi-screen users.
Cut-scenes now display correctly on center screen and do not warp characters along all 3 screens.
Problem with bots at the moment is there is no easy way to report them or draw attention from a GM besides shouting.
Bots use ranged because when bot auto engages when mobs come into range, range players do not move, meele character would run forward, and because the game scales you down, you need several bots fighting together or they will be wiped.
If you extend the target range for ranged classes but keep the same attack range, when bots auto target and attack, it will cause them to run forward, eventually separating them and drawing them away form their camping spots. This will lead to ALOT of dead bots!
Already a player house thread.
Please keep it active so it stays in the spotlight.
Thank you!
Don’t forget to add your ideas!

-Guardians offer a wide variety of healing.
-Healing shout warrior or Banner warrior.
-Water attunement elementalists
-Ranger with healing spring is one of the best team healing skill.
-Necromancer with Well of Blood.
-Engineer with healing turret or bandage kit.
-You can stealth allies and they will get regen under stealth as thief if traited.
-There are Mesmer traits that allows you to shatter clones to heal allies.Every single profession can be a healing based profession if you create your build correctly. If you play correctly, you can save your teammates from death using those healing skills.
LMAO one problem, this requires you to actually think rather then spam healing skills!
=P
I don’t even know if the game engine can even handle a persistent, Sims type player housing.
LOL
But I think we can all agree that housing would be a great addition and I cant wait so see what the creative minds at ANet come up with!
THE ONLY THING you should be concerned about is Gold Sellers. If you implement an “overly free” market system that allows Gold Sellers to use bots and “buy low, sell high” tactics to corner market on popular/necessary items, then the price will skyrocket, and the only way progress is to buy gold from the very people ruining the economy.
Seen it happen in a previous MMO, in the sequel, they decided to combat this by having a “true free market” where there was no AH (everything was done through trading) and player equipment was almost completely depended on player crafting. Long story short, made the problem much worse.
I’m not saying the current econ is perfect, but I will say that the less people are allowed to “exploit” the market, the better.
Healing based class, you mean like Elm with water element selected lol!
If they did add a monk, it would have to healing skills when equipping wand/focus, fast attack and DOT when equipping knuckles/claws, and both healing and attack when equipping staves.
Is this what you meant, or do you not understand the current class/skill system. You CAN NOT add a dedicated healing character to the game. The whole game would be thrown off balance and we would fall back into the dreaded holy trio.
Imma take a crack at a combination of instance/persistent housing.
Summery of issue:
It seems some people really want to show of their houses but player invitations are not good enough, also some people seems to want to see the outside of their house rather then just the inside.
Idea:
As suggested before players could have a neighborhood instance with a couple of other players.
Example: Divinity’s Reach, a thief could have a house in a poverty stricken alley-way. Several other players would also have houses in this area. Outside complete with NPCs that walk down the street and stop to talk to each other, just like a real city.
*Upgrades for interior will be available and they would effect outside changes of the house as well. This includes everything, color, extensions, furniture, balconies, ect…
*Don’t want other players in your home, lock the door.
*How do you get to instance? How would neighborhoods be separated? Easy, when you enter the “neighborhood district” you select from a list of street names. Street names can be randomly generated from a list of names appropriate to the housing area. When more players add housing, another instance is created and it is randomly assigned another street name. Of course the current player’s street automatically be selected for convinced.
Unfortunately this will not appease the people who want “Sims 3: Guild Wars Edition.” Although not adding a toilet and making your Char wet himself would be funny.
To All The Sharks: Would you like a "Trading" skill?/Trading Rewards?

They should just add a Tyrian version of poker then.
Ok, texa’s hold em, ante of 25 copper, 5 copper minimum bid!
Any takers?
I agree, I purchased gems for 2 reasons, bank expansions and cosmetics.
Only one of the combat costumes is any good, the other one is fugly, and the pirate costume is town cloths =‘(.
I’m also disappointed in the transmigration style costumes. I like the classic costume slots better so I can switch between the too looks.
Instanced is fine I believe, to make sure that there won’t be any ghost towns after a while.
When I was making MODs for an old game called NWN I created a basic function that took care of that issue. This was back when servers could not hold very many people and 100 was considered massive. To keep the illusion that the player was in a big active city I created a script that on heartbeat the number of players in zone was checked. Too few players would cause the server to spawn generic NPCs around merchant shops and NPCs that walked around common waypoints. When too many players were in zone then it would remove NPCs so players would not lag from massive NPCs.
I remember following a Guild Wars 2 Dev Discussion Panel before the game was released and Player Housing came up. The Dev said that while player housing would not be in the initial release, that is something they may consider in the future, but I have not seen any information or indication of any type of player housing since then.
The ONLY reason I can see for having armor destroyed (and at such a fast rate) is to try and sale armor repair kits in the GEM store, however this is about he dumbest and most frustrating marketing ploy.
Other games have tried the same tactic with MUCH BETTER success.
Best example of this is a game where armor is destroyed, the ARMOR ACTUALLY BREAKs, RIPS, and hangs off the player’s body. Not only dose this give you you sense of REAL combat it also exposes the player’s underclothes and new/better underclothes can be bought from the cash shop. So, to reiterate…
Non-visual BROKEN ARMOR to sell ARMOR REPAIR = LAME
Visual BROKEN ARMOR to sell UNDERCLOTHES = EPICSounds strange, but trust me, combat seems much more intense when your armor literally breaks and hangs off you. The current, “oops your armor is broken, you can tell by the little icon” system is just awful.
When your armor is broken it no longer appears on your body.
Not on my client it doesn’t. My armor has been completely broken and still on my body. And besides, you still have to stop and look at what condition your armor is in rather then it just being apparent.
All that aside, having your armor break just a gold sink mechanism is lame. At least they could make it a bit more interesting.
And btw, I don’t like the fact that i really don’t know my armor is broken till I start dieing easily

Persistent housing offers alot but has many problems in return.
Instance Housing is the easiest and less demanding housing system.
I do understand, and like, the idea of allowing people to enter your house.
Only thing I can think of is allowing people to enter your house through partying like home districts do…
AND/OR…
When entering your home you are promoted “Enter Your Home” and “Enter Friends Home [TEXT BOX].” Enter player name or select from friends list to enter that player’s home IF the player chooses to leave his/her door unlocked (ie. Allow other players to enter your home).
I am a FFXI escapee, and I am LOVING everything about GW2….but I really miss my moghouse! I would be really happy to have a space to decorate again, doing holiday events and getting the decorations from them was one of my favorite things about FFXI and would love to see something like that implemented in GW2.
But I love the idea of instanced, with the option to invite friends in to hang out when you want to take a break from all the adventuring!
FFXI housing had so much potential and gave a good anchor point for players. Made it feel like home. I would go all the way home b4 I loged out, now I logout in an empty house in my home instance. not the same feeling.
Too bad they never realy expanded on FFXI housing.
I’ve never played a game with player housing, so maybe this is how it works already, or maybe there’s a better way…
I have played several games with housing systems, they are very popular but alot of games leave them out because housing is normally the LEAST multiplayer aspect of an MMO.
Basic example of a housing system:
I played a game that gave everyone a house at their home city. The house was a 1 room shack you could buy furniture for and place using a grid system. Furniture gave boons to players and sometimes even quests. Other types of furniture could be used as storage or even used to grow plants. House was used for storage, mail, and to change characters.
Advanced example of a housing system:
Another game I have played had player housing areas. Each area carried a set amount of houses and areas were randomly generated depending oh the number of player’s registered on the server. so if you were player 1,620 your house might be in area 0016X-0020Y. Your name was listed on the front door and you could leave the door unlocked, locked or give out keys. House was 1 room but could be expanded 1X1 row per-upgrade. Furniture was placed on a grid system and some of them were used to create things such as food and items, some your player could interact with, and others were just for looks.
So player housing can be used as a social function or it could be used as a place where players can do character maintenance or go afk without putting undue stress on a public area like a city
Every time I play thief I instinctively look for the “Hide” skill when I see a group of monsters, but of course I can never find it lol.
Stealth skills are in the game, but are very limited.
Thief, at least, needs a long duration stealth skill
Like “F2” 25 seconds stealth. Disabled on action, cannot be cast during combat.
Just some ideas.
-Housing accessed from home instance, entrance location varies depending on social class decision.
-Upgrade housing requires in-game coin, reputation and in-game advancement in areas like crafting. House upgrades become available when players reach milestones.
-Decorations are earned by in-game events, bought from vendors, bought from cash shop, or crafted. Example: Decorations such as Trophies earned from events, Special decorations from cash-shop, Furniture can be bought and crafted.
-Housing should contain all player services.
Human Housing:
-3 types for the 3 social classes.
-Slum housing appropriate for human lower class story line.
-Common housing that complements the common class human story.
-Upper class housing, why you are having a party on the street is beyond me.
Charr War Band
-Chars live in War Band housing, not personal dwellings.
-Upgrade your War Band with banners, trophies, and troop equipment.
-As your popularity increases, you can recruit more War Band members filling your halls. War Band NPCs drink, fight, tell stories and practice combat.
Asuras Lab
-Asura’s houses are their labs, they live breath and sometimes eat science!
-Upgrade your lab with new equipment, libraries and other social class related items.
-As popularity is gained, you can apply for lab assistants to work on new projects in your lab. Come home to find them pondering over the mysteries of the universe with some humorous results.
Norn Hunting Lodge
-Lodge adorned with the spirit animal of your character.
-Decorate your Lodge with trophies of your hunts.
-I cant think of anything else but there will be ale, and lots of it!
Sylvari’s Guarden Dream
-Sylvari’s personal area is located in the “Dream” accessed from Sylvari Home Instance.
-Flowers and scenery should be appropriately colored to the time of day player awakened.
-I’m guessing there should be plants and plant like furniture lol!
Guild Halls/Hangouts
-A variety of Guild Halls should be able to be purchased in every major city. The types of guild halls available should reflect the area near the city of it’s purchase.
-Entrances to guild halls should be located in the city map where it was purchased. Locations vary by guild hall purchased. Guild hall should also be available for fast travel.
-Guild hall upgrades should include defenses, NPC bodyguards, additional rooms, banners, trophies and player services.
-Would be awesome to have guild crafting stations where guild members can craft armor with guild symbol adorned on it.
-Assault/Defend guild halls through scheduled PVP events. Challenged must be issued and accepted.
-More upgrades become available through Guild pvp/pve milestones.
Sorry for the long post, I tried to break up for easy reading!
Thanks for the funny story bro!
The home instance in Kryta is perfect for housing.
Different player houses for each Noble/Common/Slums
The thing you must ask yourself is what type of hose do you want?
A static house or a dynamic house.
A Static house can be part of the home instance making decorations, furniture and upgrades limited.
A Dynamic house wold be better to have it’s own instance to be accessed from the players personal instance. This will allow you to add rooms, furniture, gardens, crafting stations, ect. so you can start with practicably nothing and build a mansion customized to your character.
Ether way, you can bring others into the home just as you can with home instances. Just have them in your party an they can accept to join you when you enter with you.
Did I mention you should get trophies form events you can hang on the wall lol
Agree, Also, an update needs to be added that gives a unique ID to every installed games, sort of like they do with other games to track purchases. A person caught gold selling should have their IP banned, MAC address banned, Account Banned, Hardware Banned, and UID Banned.
UI
I agree that the UI needs some work. Defiantly need a fully customized drag/drop/lock UI and need to add support for Surround View setups. You can get a surround compatible video card for $200 and 22" monitors for $100 a piece. They also should fix the cut scenes to work with surround view too.
Crafting
When crafting NEW RECIPES you should be able to pull them from your material box rather then having to have them in you pack.
All crafted items looks the same, crafters should be able to unlock designs and apply them to items being crafted.
Cash Shop
I really don’t like the “apply to item” costumes, the classic costume slots would be much better.
Items need to be added to remake your characters appearance.
Other
It seems silly but I do like the idea of player housing. Not the traditional housing but a place you can upgrade with all the tools you need for crafting, mail, ect… Also playing through and receiving “Trophies” (which is actually just junk) I always wonder what it would be like to unlock trophies from events and placing them on my mantle lol.
unacceptable? Have you played any other game released in the past 5 years? This game is more acceptable then 99% of most AAA games, including non-MMOs. The state of the gaming companies is “we can release an unfinished game and patch it later.” A game that was released last year (an MMO I will not mention) was so underfinished, they have to re-release it over a year later.
The only thing wrong with this game is the amount of trolls and gold sellers.
I don’t even know why there is gold sellers, no one should even need a pl in this game and crafting is easy enough.
Is anyone else playing on 3D surround resolutions? (I’m @ 5960×1080)
I have major problems with camera jitters and camera getting stuck.
Camera also has an annoying tendency to bump into object you should be able to see through like Rope Bridges forcing the camera right into the back of the player and the only way to see anything is if you switch to a top down view.
This also happens when I’m “downed” and I cannot see anything!
It is a real shame too, this has prevented me form getting a real good view of the amazing detailed world.
NOTE
3D surround resolutions is “almost” perfect, aside form the issues above!
-Vistas work great, but only the main screen fades to white.
-Cut Scenes displays a black box around main screen but not around secondary screens, but I don’t see the need for the box anyway.
-Chat Scenes are really messed up however. Background only displays in main, and that is perfectly fine, but there is a black box around main screen and characters are stretched across all screens.
-UI works great, no real bugs however, chat is small and way to the left and map is stuck on main screen. Would love to be able to relocate and re size chat and map. You can do it already to an extent but doesn’t work right in 3D surround too well.
As soon as the rest of the forums come up I plan on making a 3D surround thread because this game looks AMAZING in 3D surround and would like to hear some of your experiences.
