The Canthan district used to be there. As you may already know, Divinity’s Reach is divided into several districts, some of them assigned to refugees from the other continents.

The Canthan District however was removed at the last minute before release because Arenanet got complaints about it from asian countries. So they removed it and created the large hole.

That’s not what happened at all.

NCSoft didn’t want the game to copy real-world asian culture because they were afraid it would then be labeled an ‘asian’ MMO. They’ve never said exactly why but I would bet it’s because being labeled as such has a negative connotation because of the massive amount of grindy pay-to-win ‘asian’ mmos that have been flooding the market for years.

Ironic as NCSoft owns and operates a few of the worst of those MMOs.

Let’s just ignore all of guild wars: factions which was based off of asian cultures.

NCSoft wasn’t majority shareholder during the release of the original Guild Wars or that of any of its expansions.

NCSoft has owned Anet since 2002.

NCSoft has been a shareholder for many years but they did not become the majority shareholder until June of 2012. You’ll find the same information on any other site where you care to look.

However (unlike you) when challenged I decided to do some research and double-check my facts. I found that my initial posting was actually incorrect, ANets investors qualms with the Cantha district were in fact due to offense taken to mixing asian cultures. My mistake, I had been told otherwise.

For me the endgame in gw1 was pvp and in gw2 my endgame is pvp. Just add Guild vs Guild and i am happy everything else is just bonus
