hmm it’s really matters how the opponents playing it the enemy player is very good I can lose against one man (for example I used to 1v1 with a mesmer and he was so freaking awesome I always lost against him). However I could easily win against 3 opponent (they were lvl80) witch both build.

A lot of thing are the same as in my condition build. Use DS as I wrote before at condi dmg build except the 4th skill wont give you any bleeding (but it will doa great dmg) and its better to use the 5th skill just to immobilize your foe. Now the auto attack is important cos usually I do about 3,5-4k dmg with it. ALso use blood is power before you go into DS!

Staff doesn’t do much dmg but can transfer conditions from you to clear yourself and fear foes. also the chill and the regen of it is usefull.

the worhorn is the same as it was at condi build

The axe 2nd skill doing the most dmg for necro it can do about 3,5k (as the DS auto attack) WIth this build you will have a lot of retaliation too wich will do about 250 dmg (without might)

Before you go into a fight make sure your DS is full. You can get life force by killing little white rabbits or any of these ambient creatures.

You need to understand how to use DS! Don’t use it only when you are low on health, use as mutch as you can but don’t spend too much time in it just use the 4th or 5th skill if you want to apply conditions. Also when you get into DS you will apply 1 weakness and 1 bleeding (or more if its hit critical). Usually I use the 3rd skill when someone stuned me so I can fear him away. and use the 2nd skill when someone is far away and try to escape. Your DS with VIII trait point in soul repearing will recharge about 6 seconds, also if you want to have stability you can give more points to sould repearing instead of death magic but you will have less toughness. The auto attack doesn’t important in this build so don’t waste your time using it.

scepter-warhorn: use the warhorn 5th skill when you can and before you go into DS cos when it’kitten enemy it will slow down the degeneration of Life force (Very good if your oponent is melee) use the 4th skill when you think your enemy wants to heal or will use an important skill, also you can use this skill when your oponent is on low health so you will prevent healing.

Staff: you can use the 2nd and 3rd skill anytime when it’s recharged. Use the 4th skill when you how much condition so you can transfer it to the enemy, and the 5th when you think it’s time to use (For example if you fight with a thief wait for his shadow refuge)

Healing skill: the more condition you have the greatest the healing. When your Healing skill is on still CD but you need heal you can get more time by going in DS for longer time.
Spectral Armor: gives protection, stun beraker and help you gain Life force.
Spectral walk: gives swiftness, stun breker, also gives life force and very good escaping skill.
Corrupt boon: Good against guardians, eles and enyone else who use a lot of boons. Not that important skill, cos not usefull in many situation, you can also use blood is power (which gives you 10 might for 14 sec) or spectral wall (good for escaping and to get a little time) or any skill what you like.
elite I think the best is the golem for soloing, its knock downs foes.

Weakness of the builds: not that much hp (still more then most glass canon), if your Life force is empty it will be really hard to survive.

Hehe I like these Ideas. What I like about the pet trait is that you can actually have more condition dmg for your pet. This is one of my bigggest problem with ranger. There are some really cool pets that actually deal about 8 bleeding or fire or confusion but only on base dmg. All you have is 1 trait point which is give your pet+350 condi dmg which is bull…

The other Idea to give more command ability is interesting. What I would like to see is to controll all of the pets ability from f1-f3 (didn’t count his auto attack) and f4 remain for change pet. ALso you can have the attack target, the avoid/aggressive combat mode, but only by clicking them.

So I think the weakest point of ranger really is the pet I don’t mind if it became really hard to use, cos even engineer is hard to use with all of his kits, but ppl can learn it.

I don’t think anything is broken, but let’s check if you guys should get a B.present or not. Type the command “/age” in the chat. If it says you playing with this character over the past 12 month you should get a B.present, if it says you playing with it over the past 11month then you shouldn’t but you will getone after you reached 1 year

The Shrug it off is the VII Traitpoint in the tactics Traitline. It says I use shake it off automatically when I have more than 2 condition. Maybe it’s not a bug, and it works as it wa designed, but I use shake it off automatically with this trait, when I got for example a second bleeding. It should remove a condition, when I got 2 type of condi right?

I don’t know if it’s already reported or it isn’t really a bug, but Berserker Stance say it’s reduce the condition duration greeatly, but instead the reduction its just simply make you immune to conditions at all

Sooo after the new event there are no more achivements for the queens Jubile achivments its sais I have 14/16 I done everything that listed and there is no more what I can do. So we wont get the reward for it? Or there will be more achivements later???

Something missing between SPvP and WvW

I agree OP, and Anet already knows how to make what you want. They created back in GW1. It was called Fort Aspenwood. 16 players per game, attacking and defending, both PvE and PvP characters could participate, siege weapons, etc. I spent the vast majority of my time playing on that map, and it never got old.

The same mechanics used in FA won’t work in GW2 (no monks), but I think a map inspired by Fort Aspenwood would be very popular.

Oh god I almost forget taht PvP mode, yeah I used to play this a lot too. Actually it’s a really great idea. If Anet whould do something like that for example a 20v20
match in alittle fortress around a field where blues objective to conquer the fort and red’s objective to defend it, that whould be great.

What I would Like to see is that now during the queen speach some charr kill Jenah so its brings back the Charr – Human War and if you walk at charr territory as a human they will attack you and if you walk with a Charr in Kryta they will attack you too. During the war Logan and Rhytlok will face and one of them will kill the other muhahahaha im EVIL!!

edit: Also I forget to say that the pre-set of GW2 is really cool. for example King Adelbern destroyed his own home just not to see in charr hands (and also he was crazy…) Or the dragon who killed everything in its path… So the Lore of GW2 is very cool I think

Wow, thank you guys. I didn’t know these thing and it’s intersting how DS mechanic works. I knew that we have a 4% natural degeneration, with trait we can decrease it to 3% and if we use the Locust swarm skill or one of the spectal skills then we can decrease it more. In the other hand if we have greater vitality then we will have greater life force pool too? I think I will check it out myself too.

I still think necros are not Op but let see what most people think is the problem with them.

Dhuumfire → maybe I shoiuld change it too for dealing burn in every 20 sec not in every 10 sec however this trait point in the Power trait line wich means you get a lot of power what you dont need, if you are a condi necro. If you are a power necro then you wont deal so much dmg with Dhuumfire trait cos you dont have condi dmg.

Terror → a lot of people have problem with it because now necros have more fear wich with they can deal dmg. Maybe I should (If I were a dev) remowe the “+50% dmg if the opponent has another condi” effect. However this trait point can be counter with stability so easily so you wont get any dmg at all or with break stun skills too.

Tainted Shackles → I think this new skill is very balanced cos its easily can be dodged or counter with any leaping skill. Just go away from the necro.

Greater Mark → Usually people dont have a problem with it I just write it here cos if it would be moved from Adept to Master than it would break the 30/30/10 build.

These are not suggestions, it’s only my opinion for what would I do if I were a developer and also as I said necros aren’t really that Op.

Hi, you want to use it with larger groups? It’s looks fine for me, the only thing I would change, that instead of Lingering curse I would use Maser of corruption, and I would use veggie pizza for condi duration (and also tuning crystals for more condi dmg).

With DS? Not much maybe the second skill should be instant teleport to target and not a slow projectal. For me the underwater golem would be a greater fix.

I liked that Idea if you miss the attack from stealth then you come out of stealth. Maybe you shouldn’t come out but if you missed backstab or any stealth skill then that skill have a 10 second CD. Then thiefs will really wait for the right moment not to miss an attack.

There really isn’t time to wait for the right time to attack from stealth in the 3-4 second duration, especially when people simply continue to walk away (people underestimate the value of dodging forward then continuing to run away). Additionally this would punish the thieves twice since it would blow half of their initiative limiting their available attacks already and putting the thief’s primary defensive/offensive on cooldown, ensuring that if a thief misses a single attack, they will simply have to run away.

I didn’t mean that CD for every skill only for the first skill from stealth (So like backstab :P). You don’t need initiative for that skill if I know it right. So the other skills that you use normally wont have any recharge if you miss it. It would be only a penalty that thiefs must deal for 10 second.. okey maybe less for 8 second.

First Necromancer have 4 break stun skills like any other cast : two spectral skill, one signet and the wurm minion. if you trait for it spectral skills last 20% longer and recharge 20% faster. There is many way to remove conditions (healin skill, dagger 4th skill, signet – the one that break stun, staff 4th skill and you can use also runes or Sigils for it, Lich form 5th skill)
DS is the most usefull. You ppl just don’t know how to use it. If you in great danger press f1 then fear maybe life transfer then go out, try to collect some more life force than again go in so you dont lose your HP. the last trait line give a 4.5 second rechage for it (number 12) and the spectral skills can fill you up with life force really fast. The axe skill don’t give you vigor but retaliation.

Ok I was wrong about the stun breakers. Never even looked at the wurm skill since I hate the necro minions. Even with 4 possible stun breakers you’d be forced into traiting certain ways to even be benefited by them. Most obviously traiting into spectral skills. Even with quick life force regen from spectral skills, if a even just a few good players are on your kitten and really want you to die and know how to avoid your fears/slows you don’t stand a chance. That DS health bar will only give you a few extra seconds. A player can time a stun/daze for when a necro starts the DS leech and ruin that plan.

The necro is good at surviving certain fights and even surviving lots of random unfocused AoE, but when focused by players that are competent I don’t see them surviving that long. If we are just talking about going against the typical WvW raidbaby zergbots that don’t know how to exploit profession’s weaknesses then just ignore me. If you want to talk about well rounded survivability going up against any situation, necros aren’t as great as you propose. Maybe they would be if leeching was more potent, and had another source of stability.

I never liked run with the zerg I see myself as a duelist. I like a 1v1 – 2v1 – 2v2 or maybe larger group battles like 5v5 but zerg is not my style. Maybe it’s because my config isn’t that good and when more then 20 ppl are on the screen I get Lag. So when I say that necromancer has a really great survivability I mean during these kind of battles. Also only thief and elementalists can escape from a 30 zerg. Necromancer can’t so you need to act fast if you see a really larg group at a distance.

Necros have only 2 stun breakers and mobility like a one legged elephant. Only lasting stability comes from elite transformations that scream “Cripple and range me to death”. Spectral walk gives good swiftness duration but you can only use the return for 8 seconds and doesnt cure cripple/chill. Also DS isn’t as helpful as intended considering the the limited skillset and we currently still cant see boons/conditions while in DS. And necros have no way of getting vigor except maybe one skill with an axe.

Eles have amazing self heals, condition removal, mobility, vigor, stability, and invulnerability skills. With the right build you can get away from nearly anything.

Mesmers also have good survivability. Stealth, clones, all boons, distortion, teleporting, plus many more tricksy ways of fighting in a jam and surviving to tell the tale.

Maybe it wasn’t the Corrupt boon skill that remowed aegis from the guardian. All I know that I saw the blocked notification and Corrupt Boon started the CD but non of his boon was remowed. I wasn’t blinded too. I coudn’t reproduce this effect and I didn’t had problem with it only once iin that morning. Maybe it’s just one in a million case like when I finish someone out but he don’t die.

Corrupt Boon has the same issue. I believe if a target has an Aegis, the Corrupt Boon (and/or) Lich 5, get blocked. as the Aegis states it blocks the next incoming attack. Looks like a bug.

Yeah it was fixed ages ago but I got this bug today… Guardian had about 6 boon on him with aegis and Corrupt Boon didn’t do anythin but aegis blocked it.

Sorry, but if you think DS only works for Power builds, you are lacking a LOT of knowledge about building necros. I recently made a condition damage build that also uses critical hits to apply extra conditions. Popping into death shroud every time 4 is up means an AoE attack that ticks 9x for every enemy within range. At about 80% crit chance, every crit has a 60 and 66% chance to apply bleeds (that means up to 2 bleeds per tick). That means, with great luck, I can apply 18 bleeds to EVERYTHING within the DS 4 radius. Please tell me how that doesn’t help condition builds? And since every condition build should go into curses at least 20, every condition build will have similar access to condition application.

Every build can use it as:
A gap closer
Decent burst of damage
“OH CRAP” button, you can negate almost any burst with it
On-demand fear: stops people from ressing enemies, stomping teammates, healing, in the middle of a dangerous channel (gg 100b warriors)
And a variety of utilities depending on traiting, it can apply vuln, give might, remove conditions, heal, apply conditions, and more.

DS is a vital mechanic of necros, no necro build cannot use it, no good necro player doesn’t use it.

Agreed! I have only 40% crit chance but with the auto attack of scepter I can easily maintain about 8-10 bleeding on enemy and also if im out of Luck Life transfer give the oponent about 4 bleeding (Trait + Sigil of Earth).

Lol There is nothing wrong with DS. This is The only thing that can necros use if they want to survive for a long time. Don’t use your DS until its empty use only for a little time for Life transfer and maybe fear until you get your healing skill back. if yomeone trying to excape use the second skill with chill. If DS is empty there are a hundred skills that can make it fill up again.

I like the Idea of Khalifahaze.6045 that maybe the first skill should have a 20% chance to transfer a condition to the enemy, then maybe I would use it. Now I don’t really use the auto attack of DS because it’s just using the life force.

Thief plays great. The only problem is the active on Signet of Malice and the uselessness of traps but everything else works very well and if creative enough, leads to some very useful builds in pve and pvp. It sickens me when I hear/see people crying thieves are OP…

80% of ppl “crying” that thieves are OP and the remaining 20% are thieves….. I think at Anet everyone plays a thief thats why they don’t want to change anything about it and they won’t… I never saw a game where stealth was great it always were OP in every game. They shouldn’t put in the game at the first place in GW1 assasin was great without stealth. Bring down the stealth of thieves like if you come out from stealth you can’t go in stealth again for 6 second or you can have stealth but you cant stack it up fot 500 second and also they should have only 2 sec stealth and an elite for bigger stealth.

Black Powder – necromancer has a same ability called well of darkness the only difference that its duration is 5 sec and has a DC 60 second…

Cloak and Dagger – One of the most powerful skill for thief. They go in steallth for 3 sec so during that 3 sec they got initiative back and then they can go back in stealth again. Usually the 90% of thieves use this on condition dmg build like: 1111151111115

Infiltrator’s Arrow – Don’t tell me it’s not a powerful skill. In one sec they can be at 1800 range from out of battle

Anet shouldn’t give the thief Initiative point or a littlebit less Initative point because they can use powerful skills so much but other classes can use their 4th-5th skill only after 20-30 sec.

I would lova a PvP like the random arena in GW1. You only have 1 goal: to kill the enemy team. You also won’t know who will be on your side before the fight so you need to set your build right. I remember when in the enemy team there were 3 monk and in our team there wasn’t any mesmer to deal with them. Was a log long fight

Sublimatio is right it’s a bug so he reported it.. Do you guys remember when in beta you typed the command /sit then you could jump while you sit. It was a fun bug too but Anet fixed it.

Maybe it’s a bug maybe it’s not. In the monthly achievement I can do the Jumping puzzle section without visiting 30 different JP. So for example I can visit the Ethernal JP over and over again so I will get the achievement. I didn’t pay attention to it but I have done about 9 different Jumping puzzles in this month and I did the one in Ethernal about 5 times and also 2 times on the Borderland. And now I got 16 on my monthly ach.

Downed State and its effect on WvW

I can tell, that I had some bad time too with my engineer in downed state (I think engineer skills are bad for a downed state but it’s my opinion). However I got some really close save from my guildmates too. If you fight in 2v1 then always just shoot some bullet into the person who in downed or hit him so he cant really res himself up or if the other person start to res him, then just start to shoot him! Free target practice!!

I’m not defending the thief because they have culling and yes they usually just pressing the first skill, but the 90% of players don’t think about remowing conditions. If you rewome conditions from yourself, then these kind of thiefs can’t do anything at all with you and after a while they will probably put down that house skill and run away like a little b…. Oh and if you also blow back the thiefs from the house skill (I just don’t know it’s name) they will come back from stealth instantly. And there is stun and imobilize too.

Level 82 Veterans in non upgraded camps

Today I saw that our camp was under attack so I went there when I arrived the camp was already captured. Then I saw that almast all the veterans are lvl 82. There is a picture where you can see one of the veternas and also that the camp can has only 100 max suply so there is no upgrade there. I think that’s just a bug and not a hack but lately I found some strange thing around tha enemy [Yak]-Yakslappers guild so maybe they could be checked out. (I found the ranger there at the camp).

A good class in WvW?

First of all any class can be very good in WvW it’s only matters of your taste in playing a profession. I have a mesmer a guardian and an engineer. Right now I play the most with the engi because it’s the newest one. I don’t know what you want to do in WvW. if you just want to go around killing people alone maybe you can try out the thief,ele,mesmer or if you want to go with group/guild/zerg try the warrior,ele,guardian. However as I said every class can be usefull in anyway.

I hope they don’t fix the invite thing. Thats the only way I can speak with the enemy and ask him for a 1v1 fight somewhere out of traffic. If Anet would make the server transfer available only once per month or you can’t play WvW on that week when you made the transfer would solve the spy issue.

Let me tell my example why can a server profit from soloing. So usually I’m going for a camp alone. I solo it and then I wait there to defend it for a little time. I do it for fun and also its 5 point. I think it’s great when 1 guy can defend 5 point for his server against small groups like 5-6 people. That means they will need to call a larger group who didn’t went for capturing tower or didn’t joined to a zerg. Last time I defended a camp for about 30 mins on an enemy BL at NE.

I don’t know if Anet will do something about this dueling thing, if yes I think 2 solution whould be acceptable.

1. A similar system like sPvP where the goel is not to capture point but only kill the enemy team. After you killed an oponent you cant revive it again by allys. It should have a 1v1, 2v2, 3v3, 4v4, 5v5 option.

2. In WvW there should be an option for request and accept duel, so only the two men can hurt each other.

I always wondered wtf are duelists doing in WvWvW ? If I was a big duel fan I’d go sPvP all day long.

WvWvW is the exact opposite of fair fight in an “under control” environment, you never know what is going to happen.

Or maybe they’re not that good duelist versus 1vs1 specced players, so they come to WvWvW to duel support/team specced players ?

And also I checked it and you cant make a room for 2 or 3 people so you cant dual there too. Yes I don call it a duel when you fight alone against 5 guys

Let me make it simpler for you: Show us a thread that asks for support for a stronger 1 vs. 1 mode and we’ll sign it. I’m all for it.

WvW, on the other hand, is not 1 vs 1. If someone wants to 1 vs 1, that’s fine and dandy and their business. But you can’t expect others to play along just because you want to.

@Amini: I do believe you can set up an sPvP room for 2…? I was told this was possible, but to be honest I’ve never tried it. And a Jedi Academy style “challenge this player for a duel” thing would be acceptable as well – if both players accept they’re stuck in an “aether” form that can’t affect or be affected by others (including structures) till one player dies.

Hmm I never tried it too, but I will check it out if it’s true.

I like to play 1v1;2v1;2v2 etc, but you cant do it in sPvP because the main goil there to capture points and usually they fight you there 4v1 too. I understand that in WvW there is a war going, I just don’t know why Anet didn’t make an option where if you accept a duel you will be determind for other players or something like that

It would be good if we cant build Arrow Carts or anything else in WvW jumping puzzle. You can kill the enemy with traps but AC just too much there we dont have any chance against it.

It would be good if we should change every key on the setup and not only a “few”. First, wich is more important, the right click (mouse 2). I don’t want to use it as targeting, because it makes me break my target during rotating the camera. For another example I cant change the shift key to be unbind (its drawing and linking stuffs in the chat). I use it during TS and When I want to press a skill and speak at the same time I just link the skill but not using it.

I think there is nothing wrong with Thiefs. Maybe the only thing I woud change, when the thief come out of stelth they should get the “eye icon” not only if they attack from stealth
