Just wanted to say that final cutscene is fantastic! Probably my favorite in GW2 so far. Overall, Season 2 has been much better imo and in the opinion of my guildies. Nice work!
BEHOLD! The birth of Dr Moosehattan!

Hi all
First of all…not sure if I should place here this sugestion since its a wvw related BUT at the same time i thought here would be the best place since this is not a wvw discussion but in fact a GW2 discussion and since there’s more suggestions topics here Im creating this one too.
So what i was been thinking was nothing much than a small icon that everyone could get like the small icon of the title “Been There, Done That” that could show to our allies our ranks…i mean this cause it would be nice to show our ranks, BUT when i said before that EVERYONE could get it (the icon) i mean only AFTER achieve the Bronze rank…I’ve done some quick examples of what i mean.
Hope you guys like the suggestion
PS: All wvw rank icons was made ONLY to illustrate the idea.
They also removed displaying rank at the end of a match. I can only presume this is so they don’t need to fix matchmaking since we can’t easily prove it’s broken
This is a suggestion post for a non-intrusive replayable living story.
A NPC called “InsertRandomNameHere (i.e. Yakkington) the Historian” should be added to one/all major cities. This NPC has taken part of one arch of the living story as an observer and will now tell new heroes and heroes who have been adventuring out of town of the events that have taken place.
The NPC will tell his story in the same timely parts as the Living Story has taken place. This means, he will give you access to the first part of the Living Story in the first two weeks, then switch to the next part of LS for the following two weeks. Users will not be able to decide which part of the LS they can play at a given time and thus, the LS will stay time gated, but repeatable. If the LS part takes place in an area that is not part of the current Tyria, they will be ported directly to an instanced map together with all other users replaying this part. If the events had taken place in a part of Tyria, a new instanced map of this area will be created just for the part of this LS for all participating players.
Events that ultimately altered Tyria and changed it to the Tyria that exists today are not changeable anymore (i.e. The vote for President). Halloween, Wintersday, Dragon Bash are not part of the LS and are already repeated yearly, therefore these events will be skipped by the historian.
Pros:
- New players and players with time constraints are now able to replay missed parts of any LS Arch
- The LS will now increase the maximum playable content of GuildWars 2
- Designed content will stay and thus increase the worth of spend work time on LS
Cons:
- Player who have been part of the LS might feel cheated, as it is something special, character defining to have taken part of specific LS parts
- Already finished LS parts still need maintenance
- Users might skip current LS content because they can redo it another time
ANET has the option to disable:
- Achievable Titles
- Achievement Points
- Achievable weapon/armor skins
(Even though I personally would like to gain achievements, titles and skins, the option to disable all or some of it could ultimately lessen the somehow justified rage of people who felt committed to do anything per LS part as it will never come back)
From a business point of view this system should add value to GuildWars 2 for most players, especially for new players and increase profits. New players are more likely to stay, old users more likely to come back and for all users the playable content is increased which should increase spend time in GW2 altogether. This should lead to more income that easily outstrips the additional design and maintenance costs. The rage of current users is a given, but should be negligible in the long run with increased common user satisfaction. The user base that skips current LS and stays offline as it will be replay able for two weeks in a year or so should stay relatively small.
Do remember we have a thread at http://www.gw2wvw.net/topic/gom-vs-dh-vs-dr-week-4 for when this eventually is closed.
Devona’s Rest [OHai][GloB]
Yes, let’s push people into the top servers even more. This is exactly what is needed. /sarcasm
-We (DR) are going for the win. We are not collaborating or coordinating with GOM in ANY way.
We are currently behind you by about 4,000 points, why wouldn’t we attack your stuff to try and close that gap?
If you’re trying to beat server 1 as server 3, focusing server 2 to close the gap is a super bad strategy. I’m either left to conclude DR is utterly idiotic when it comes to strategy, or your claims don’t line up. Feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
On a side note, we actually HAVE been focusing GoM (I refer you to the same site). Today we camped their entire BL during prime, only to have you (unintentional I believe) double team force us to lose 2 of our WPs. That’s why, I’m sure you can understand, many Dh players are upset. We could both be fighting for first, but DR seems to have given up and instead is fighting for 2nd.
First, read what I said (what you quoted) again. I said “why wouldn’t we attack you.” I didn’t say we were FOCUSING you; two very different things. We’ve been attacking BOTH of you, for goodness sake.
On the other note: TBH, I can understand being upset and frustrated, and reading into it thinking something sinister is going on. I can understand because we were in THE SAME POSITION in a previous weekly match against GOM and another team. That’s because it is just something that happens in a 3-way match. It does not mean that anyone is collaborating.
But, when we were in that position, we didn’t take to the forums making wild accusations and pointing fingers. We accepted that in a 3-way battle, sometimes we are going to be on the receiving end of both teams, by mere mechanics of the system and tactics.
It does not mean anything beyond that is going on.
I appreciate that you clarified that you are not accusing us of that. The reason I commented (which is the first time I have on a forum) is because I really did not appreciate the way the OP decided to take out their frustration, by pointing fingers and making accusations against my server’s integrity. That is all. I am not a commander, so I can’t speak to strategy, nor would I; I’m just a player, I can’t speak for my whole server.
But what I can say, indisputably, is that we are not working with GOM, we are FIGHTING them, and that these accusations are unfounded and insulting, and the way the OP is deciding to go about expressing their frustration is honestly immature. That is all.
But what happens when the lowest and the highest server gang up on the middle server? Is that working as intended? Is that cool, does it promote fun play for all involved? Let me give background.
Yes, it is working as intended. WvW is a 3 player game. 2v1 happens. Anet has said that this is intended, they said it last season when SBI got hit with a gnarly doubleteam. Nothing has changed now.
The most disturbing part about this is that s/he is commander, you’d think a commander would see the tactical justification for being 2v1’d.
“I’m here to bearbow and chew bubblegum..and I’m all out of bearbow.”
This is war and anything goes. Stop crying and keep fighting.
You must be new. WvW is always your server vs them. Even when map polotics put you on the same side. It nevet last and is still likely to get you hit hard by a 2v1. That said match up threads are not allowed. I expect this to be locked soon.

Beyond the Gate of Madness lies the depths of your heart…
Gate of Madness is looking for those with steel in their bones, fire in their blood, and honor in their comraderie!
Are you that type of player: Wants to run at the front of the zerg with your friends? Wants to laugh with your guild mates at your enemies? Wants to know you contributed to the battle? Wants to feel you were a part of the win? Then, after the battles are fought and armor repaired, cheer at and be cheered for your greatness ?
That is what the Gate of Madness can offer.
With your friends: It is easy to be a part of something. It is also easy to be forgotten that you were there. How would you like to not only be a part of the battles but be known for the contributions you made? Of course you would. The Gate of Madness is a server of guilds, guilds that are made up of fast friends: people just like you, willing to recognize and support you in return. Don’t be just a ‘brick in the wall’ when you can be the hand on the hammer that breaks down the wall!
At you enemies: You are not a simple gamer. Why be a simple machine soldier? The Gate of Madness is known for bringing the best fight every time, but what only fellow guild mates see is what happens beyond the battles: strategies made by and for players like you, fellow guild members that work beyond the battle with and for you, conversations that feels like it is with friends… because it is. Break the mold of uniformity and show The Gate of Madness your uniqueness!
To the battle: Let’s be honest. Not every skirmish is a decisive win, not every battle beyond attrition and not every war without sacrifice. Why feel unimportant when the win seems so far away and the attrition offers your sacrifice? Fight in battles as a key player, stand together when others would retreat and be known not for being a part… but be known for being a fulcrum in the fight.
Part of the win: And the win will come, and many more after it. Why not gain the valor and the reward together? The Gate of Madness is growing fast: from the Living World story successes, opening Temples, running dungeons, conquering Meta events, making hard fights in World versus World… and so much more! Each new friend, each new guild member, and each new contribution stacks the wins.
For your greatness: As the Gate of Madness adds to the list of successes, conquers more battles, adds to the roster of friends, and gains more difficult adversaries to the World versus World battlegrounds we want you to be there with us! We want players who want to be more than just a part of, who want to share in every battle, who want to move forward together, and who want to earn success!!! That can be you.
(This is a personal open comment about the Gate of Madness and is not associated with any one guild and/or organized recruitment to the server)

So you made 2 Incinerators. Both of them were bound when you equipped them. You didn’t care, because you did ALL that work just to have a matching offhand, and didn’t care about changing stats.
Well now you have the ability to have 1 Incinerator on Thief, and now that second one can be put on your Ele. You couldn’t do that before but now BOTH characters can have a main Legendary, which you can change stats on. Guess what else you can do? Now you can get 2 more skins from the wardrobe to skin your offhand exotic/ascended to match.
Only play 1 dagger class?
You still have 2 stat-swappable daggers that are account bound should you decide to create another dagger wielding character, and now have the skin to apply infinitely to any other dagger, ever.. Also even if you keep them to dual wield it’s STILL easier than crafting another Ascended dagger if you ever decided to switch build/stats because the work is already done to account for ANY weapon stat you want, AND you don’t need to reskin it and waste a transmutation charge.
I just don’t feel like chanting “refund” is warranted.

Tbh you should have enough awareness in WvW to not follow someone if they clearly have no clue what they are doing… just because they have a tag you are not forced to stick to them. Also you probably have regular commanders, why not have one of them tag up, join squad and let the PVE guy take skillpoints in a golem by himself or something.

Mesmers have no business being at melee range 100% of the time.
Sorry, but this is not true. In fact, mesmers bring more in melee, and with new Dueling GM trait in 15h April, going melee will be even better.

Greetings and salutations.
With Season 1 of the Living Story drawing to a close, it seems appropriate to offer review and reflection of everything that has come thus far. Sadly, there is much to consider, as the brand new path trod by Anet has many missteps and mishaps along the way.
Rather than talk about individual flaws, I thought it might be best to take a stab at the overall writing style of the Living Story and the narrative flaws it continues to exhibit. Plot holes come and go, individual complaints will always remain, but the best way to help Season 2 is to consider the pitfalls of Season 1 from a writing and gaming perspective. And so, I thought I would offer up a bit of constructive criticism in silly infographic format.
For your consideration, Fifteen Lessons From Fifteen Months of Scarlet Briar.
A bit of history
IoJ was once a T1 server which fell to the bottom of T7 after free transfers ended. We slowly built ourselves back up, training our pugs and organizing our guilds, eventually climbing up to T4/T5 — only to be crushed again when Anet restructured Season 1. We’ve hit rock bottom before, suffered from low morale, seen waypoints built in our keeps, and finished last in Silver League.
And yet, despite this, it’s with a mixture of incredulity and pride that I’m writing this post. We braved the storm, rebuilt our community, and have begun to climb the ranks once more. What we need, however, is you!
Our goal is to stabilize in T3. We don’t care at all about Leagues. Let me repeat that. We don’t care at all about Leagues. We don’t care about stupid rewards, meaningless achievements, and artificial server stacking. We want to be stable and competitive in T3, without stomping or getting stomped by other servers.
Who we are
IoJ is without a doubt one of the nicest and most open communities out there, with no significant drama at all. We don’t tolerate trolling, griefing, or bad sportsmanship. We don’t rely on a few popular pugmanders or 1-2 WvW guilds to carry the server (having suffered from this mistake twice). We boast a variety of guilds and commanders, casual and hardcore, who come out every day.
We play defense and we don’t karma train. Every single guild and commander will hop map in a heartbeat if asked to defend IoJ BL. We have players and guilds who spend hours scouting our BL, walking yaks into our keeps, and sinking gold into upgrades and siege. We’re also one of the few servers with a strong OCX/SEA crew focused on defending our assets overnight and papering up enemy BL’s for the day.
Our guilds and veterans are fiercely loyal to each other and to the server. We’ve seen rock bottom, and we come out to fight anyway, whether it be in the face of overwhelming odds or in the face of those two annoying teefs slapping our yaks.
What we’re looking for
The only guilds we don’t want are ones who cause needless drama, bag farm at the expense of the server, and jump ship when the going gets tough. Other than that, defensive guilds, offensive guilds, GvG guilds, havoc guilds, pugmanders, camp flippers – you name it, we need it. Here’s what we’re in high demand for:
- NA guilds, NA guilds, NA guilds! More than anything, we need NA guilds. We have many talented and hardcore NA guilds already, but relative to other servers in our tier, we simply don’t have the same population during this time zone.
- 1-2 OCX/SEA guilds. If we want to be stable in T3, we need, ideally, a zergbusting guild and another havoc guild. We already have a coordinated night crew who would be more than happy to work with you.
- 1-2 EU guilds. Currently, we have one large EU guild and a looooot of pugs. If you’re looking to tap into a rich source of players in this time zone, we’re the server for you.
What we offer
- Server-wide Teamspeak and forums
- Server-wide siege donation drives
- Weekly militia training sessions
- Fun WvW side-events (Thursday night quaggan raids, commander zergs, etc.)
- Large pug population eager to learn and improve
- Hardcore WvW guilds who communicate effectively and work well together
- No queues (even on reset, the longest queues are 3-4 people)
- No drama
- One of the most stable and tight-knit communities to date
To end on a personal note: I wasn’t here for the first exodus, but I was here for the second. That night before Season 1, we were ticking at 30 PPT. Although there were times when I questioned why I should bother logging in, staying on IoJ and rebuilding the server has been one of the most rewarding experiences in this game. I’ve made a ton of close friends who would rather die in our last remaining tower than to give up without a fight. Soon, we were beating servers that once roflstomped us into the ground. And now, here I am, writing this post, with a mixture of incredulity and pride.
If IoJ sounds like it might be a good server for you, feel free to contact the following people in game:
Mango.9267 / Second Child
Hamster.4861 / Ried Stonefist (NA)
Banzie.5248 / Karnaige (EU)

(edited by mango.9267)
All is vain.
For everyone thinking this is a bad idea, you know that there are rules on these forums right? And that rules are supposed to be enforced?
ANET watered down the importance of their own rules repeatedly. When you hand out infractions simply because someone used the report tool on a post, it means that 1) the report tool becomes more abused and more effort for the moderators, and 2) that those receiving infractions for outright silly things stop caring about the infractions, they become meaningless.
As for your other comment, that is laughable and not worth discussing.
Just had some fun running around with IoJ people from [RUN] in EB lol
