Hey guys,

So after a few hours of failing miserably at the Jade Kraken time mote challenge, I finally found a group and we were able to complete the challenge successfully. However, everyone in the party got the piece for the Legendary Backpiece collection except for me! I filed a claim, and was told to come to the forums.

Has anyone else had this problem?

I just wanted to vent a few frustrations with the end boss fight. Before I get started I just wanted to say that I absolutely LOVE the story line. If you have a Sylvari, I’d highly, highly recommend that you open the story instance yourself, as there are a few flavorful effects put into the end fight

However, I’m so disappointed in the death mechanic that it really left a bitter taste in my mouth. I understand the end fight it supposed to be challenging, BUT why lock off the players who died?

For those who are unaware, upon dying, you are teleported to this prison of sorts, where you must wait it out and have the remainder of your party “carry” you, per say.

It really is silly <.< not only that, but you’re leaving people out who (on their first Hearts and Minds boss fight) don’t get to hop back in and fight.
I’d kindly make the suggestion to Arena Net that they possibly remove the “put in ley line prison after death” and allow us to be rezzed during the fight. It looks so epic, and like such great content. But I don’t get to actually experience it.

(Yes I am in the ley-line prison now watching the 1 party member who survived)

Burn is crazy OP, and is the epitome of “No risk, high rewards” build.

You stack any build for the most part and it seems ridiculous… And an entire team stacking burn specs does not illustrate that burn is over powered… you could do the same thing with anything else – Bleeds, Confusion, Torment – and you would have the same response.

I’m not talking about team stacking. I’m talking about one class (any with burn) having the DPS add up to 1.5k per stack.

Nothing wrong with condi. just the fact that, burning = up to 44k damage in the course of 10 seconds. It’s ridiculously overpowered and needs to be nerfed.

Burn damage from high burn stacks is a low tier problem.

One trick pony builds (high burn stack builds) don’t sustain well in more advanced matches PLUS almost everyone has cleansing. Exception is dd ele but I consider that a medium burn stack build

So all the fuss about burn damage are from people that are big on whining and small on pvp acumen.

I support it because it makes pvp a bit more challenging and forces boneheads to equip cleansing or pay the price. A lot pay the price then start kittentt threads about burning and why it should get nerfed.

Bottom line is, it should get nerfed, and it will get nerfed :P

I’m having the same issue. Tried multiple locations, and still I am unable to use any diving goggles. Sent a bug report in. XD

I mains Sylvari Mesmer, and I feel like this makes my feelings about the Pale Tree a little biased, but I too had chills seeing her so hurt. Wanted to throw this in as well…inb4.

So you fight to NOT be double-teamed and then propose a double-team on the top server?

Also, it sounds like your more upset that your keeps and upgraded towers were papered, and gold was lost, rather than the fact that your player base couldn’t defend it.

As far as I’m aware… DR hits us (GoM) as much as DH. As for them taking orders, I’m sure they follow their own…

Not really more or less its a cheap tactic that needs addressed and penalized otherwise it ruins the WvW content.

Actually, it should be rewarded, as maintaining communication inter-servers is a lot more difficult than just K-Training their BL.

Its a game where the developers want to insure that the Content is Fun, the fact that you look at it as an aspect of war is a poor viewing by you, as any good developer would know is that they would want to insure quality content instead of in-balance.

It sounds more like you’re not having fun because you’re loosing, rather than enjoying the actual game-mode. Thing is, not EVERYONE can win. It’s a fact-of-life, and WvW is currently in a tournament styled game mode where only one server can come in first place.

What happens next? Instead of DR, say, taking GoM’s papered bl, or focusing on EB, they rush our heavily defended/upgraded BL. Weird choice amirite? What does GoM do? Instead of defending/retaking their own bl (which Dh owns most of), instead of hitting the paper DR bl, they hit our heavily guarded/upgraded BL. Instead of EVER FIGHTING EACH OTHER in our bl, they rush our keeps/towers simultanousely, stretching our forces to their absolute limits, and eventually forcing us to lose two of our waypoints.

All the time, they’re barely fighting each other. I don’t know if it’s intentional, and I don’t care to whine. But you will forgive us if we find this situation incredibly stupid and annoying.

As to people commenting about war not being fair. This is a game about war, not war. If something is unfair it can detract from the fun of the situation. That doesn’t mean fairness should necessarily be enforced, but perhaps encouraged. It’s not cool for the server that’s not winning to be ganged up on, it just isn’t. So try to understand where Dh people here are coming from, even if you don’t agree with them.

It sounds like GoM acted in retaliation for papering their keeps rather than “double-teaming”. Personally, I judge the servers strength at that moment based on the upgrades (mainly WPs) it possesses. If you weaken a server by papering (which ultimately becomes a K-Train until upgrades start going), why would the opposing server, the one you just papered, want you to have the strength in your upgrades and guaranteed PPT in your upgraded keeps.

I totally get that loosing, and being K-Trained is NOT fun. I understand a lot of the gripe in this forum post. But, to be completely, when you notice a server is focusing your own, why would you not act in retaliation to it and hit those opposing and focusing you. “Get them before they get you” comes into mind. So, I wouldn’t shout “double team” before you think about tactics, because that’s all it is.

All Oceanic’s are free to play after being victimized constantly by these threads…

The worst commanders I have seen are all mesmers and thieves.

That’s pretty much saying the experience and talent of a commander is in the class he or she picks and not in an evolved tactical set of skills.

The best pugmander I know actually commands on theif. And I’d like to believe I’m a pretty decent commander at times (which is when I’m usually on my mesmer).

I absouloutly don’t think it’s fair to base a commander’s skill on their class. So, I’m going to discredit this.
As for the blinking and jumping around, it’s survivability. Where we lack in toughness we make up in manipulation. I’ll say this. It’s a lot more fun commanding on Mesmer and not playing EZMode all the time.

Mesmers have no business being at melee range 100% of the time.

People don’t realize that generaly 100% mele for a Mesmer is Sword/Sword + Greatsword.

And greatsword is, in-fact ranged. As well as our most powerful and zerg-oriented weapon sets.

I really like the idea as well but could never see this implemented in-game. I started commanding May of last year and had no where near close to the requirements I’ve read in this thread.

I think the actual implementation of new commanders is more a psychological one than anything. Think of it this way, a renowned commander in your server often gets a large following due to the trust those who have previously followed have placed in him. I’ve seen new commanders plenty of time with little to no following. and new commanders with 40-60 man zergs. A trust is built in commanders, and it is built through time and achievements accomplished on the map.

While I love the idea of this, it prevents newer commanders getting their foot in the door and building a “name” for themselves as is done today. After all, server-wide, a commanders strength in a zerg comes from the name next to them today.

I have a tag for both a Mesmer and a Guardian. I can honestly say that commanding
either is a completely different experience. In all honest, it’s much easier to command with my Guardian as I can easily lead the frontline, and can actively push into an incoming zerg without much regard to the damage. On Mesmer however I find myself manipulating around the front line via “Blink” and bringing the light and medium “back line” a bit further up than usual.

Also, by referring to the whole “frontline” “backline” concept, when actively taking and assuming the role of Commander, your puglings (be it consciously or sub-consciously) will look to see how far you are pushing into on-coming enemies, and wether or not you fall back from that initial push. On Mesmer, I always find myself having to step aside to avoid initial bursts and, overall, I find my zerg to not be as pushy and “eager” to get in there as they would seeing a Commander tag in the middle of a sea of red via a Guaridan.

It really depends on your play style and successfully being able to achieve the duties of a commander on a Mesmer can be truly rewarding!

I honestly don’t believe Mavericks to be the issue. I’ve been playing on my 13 inch Early-2011 MBP (running OSX 10.9) with almost no problems at all.

The trading post issue, I get about 50% of the time, but from judging others with Windows this seems to be an issue pressed to them as well.

Every so often, I’ll get a Camera glitch in which I have to exit the client , jiggle my plugged in mouse and just be frustrated until the camer decides to act normal, but other than that, I never DC, I usually average 30 FPS, and my game never crashes.

So low of FA to troll zerg the new Obi Sanctum -.-

Well its been a fun week got lots of great footage of my hybrid thief. CORE been disappointed in you’re skill lvl I thought you’d be better owell on the plus side few of you made into my next wvw pwnage video.

I love how all of these players are calling a guild out that has absolutely roflstomped the IoJ server all week. Maybe when IoJ finally drops out of Silver at the end of this season you guys won’t be so bitter, sad and pathetic. Who knows maybe then you guys might PvF less and actually PvP. I doubt it, but hoping one day the IoJ server as a whole isn’t a server full of baddies

CORE doesn’t have strength in their build attributes but in their numbers.
And the same goes for FA.

IoJ wouldn’t QQ as much if FA didn’t /laugh /sit on every IoJ opponent and then come to forums to boast about superior “skill”. You have no skill. You have numbers.

And I will reference this post as well when it comes back to second league and FA is QQing because they don’t even have their keep most of the week. We all know how it works on the bottom of Gold, Silver, and Bronze league. X server has a mass exodus from (1) the guilds that server hoped for an easy win (which includes CORE), and (2) guilds that don’t want to be ROFL stomped by JQ and BG.

Hopefully we will have some epic garri defense fights rather than just a red blob rolling over us. FA camp flipping groups sure know how to run away well during NA dayshift. Us slow folks in our crappy pve gear just can’t keep up with FA’s superior speed decked out wvw super tough gear. And the one time you killed my little party, got a nice laugh and face sitting emote. Truly amazing stuff. Does FA pve just as awesome as they wvw? Might come and guest over there to see it first hand.

These forums are pretty entertaining as well, best read this whole season. Sorta like a bad teenage romance novel, with all the ex-girlfriend/boyfriend break up drama you could ever want. CORE broke up with IoJ, IoJ is resentful, jealous new girlfriend FA resents that CORE still is in love with ex-IoJ.

All shenanigans aside, been a super fun week. Great to see old friends on the battlefield, do miss some of you CORE folk, but IoJ is getting some valuable experience, will be no time at all before we build up our wvw base again. Already seeing great things from our wvw community.

I see just as many guard stacks on both teams? Besides, isn’t low ranks the nature of things when you reroll to play FotM every so often? I guess I could try to type out some argument here but I have the feeling it will fly right above your head, so I’ll just say:

You are bad (you can really tell from the video, it’s not about being on alts), your excuse is bad and emoting players who will come back to stomp you 1:2 is a bad idea.

If you get us all on our prime (the class any of our members is most comfortable playing on) we are a fairly destructive crew.

A lot of fun fights today on my uplevel ranger, downed a few level 80’s here and there in 1v1 situations (or my pet did anyway) but I really enjoy the way ebay has a tendency to /bow at me for atleast trying to fight compared to the 7 maybe 8 times groups of FA have spammed /laugh and /sit/sit/sit/sit…..

Lots of respect to Ebay for that.
