I made 2 incinerators for my thief, they’re my only legendaries and now that the account bound skins are going to be released what should I do?

Don’t get my wrong, I LOVE the account wide skin idea but legendaries? I think they should stay soul bound to be honest. They’re meant to be rare, no?

I don’t know about you, but every time I download an updated for GW2 I have NO idea on when the patch will finish or how large the files are.

The percentage of the update is calculated by how many files you have already downloaded and how many are left. That means that a 100MB file will increment the percentage exactly the same amount as a 100KB file.

Wouldn’t it make more sense to base the percentage on file sizes and total patch size? At least we would have a rough ETA on when the patch will finish.

I’m Aussie, so as you can imagine I spend a lot of time watching my patches take an hour or 2 when large LS patches are released. It’d be nice to know the patch size and ETA

Getting lots of packet loss from p4-23-c0-ncdc-pub.plaync.net, been watching Ping Plotter like a hawk lately.

Please fix this crap Anet, I can’t even play for 10 minutes without getting booted!

Game is 100% unplayable, not happy!

I reckon all anet has to do is reboot the servers and it’ll be solved. Been too long since a living world reboot..

I am getting dc’s and crashes left right and centre, I wonder if the fix could be a simple ‘have you tried turning it off and back on again?’ kind of deal (probably not)…

I feel completely ripped off right now, the game is in an absolutely unplayable state for me right now… After all the time and money I’ve spent on GW2 and I can’t even play it on my day off, not happy!

Sorry to hear that you guys have the issue as well, but in a way I am glad that it’s nothing on my end (hopefully).

I’d be pretty stoked if anet could hotfix this or push a small update to fix this issue.

I’m missing out on my daily FotM runs because I can’t go a full session without dc’ing and being kicked…

I keep getting the same issue, my ping plotter diagnosis is indicating that my ISP is to blame, but if this many people are having issues, surely not?

Hey guys, I keep disconnecting every 5-10 minutes and getting an error code: 7:11:3:191:101
Either that or my client will completely crash…

I’ve verified, repaired, completely re-downloaded the entire client and it still doesn’t fix my issue.
I have shabby internet at best, but a network error shouldn’t completely crash my client? Plus I have seen many people having the same problem to no avail.

I’ve attached a ping plotter of the gw2 servers but I can’t quite tell where I am losing my packets.

I will also attach 2 crash logs in the following posts.

Hi, I get this issue probably 5-10 times a day when I run dungeons etc.

If I dodge (I’m an infini-dodge thief) at the exact time as getting downed, I will rally and be downed at the same time.

My character stands in the spot, but I cannot move; I have to use the skill ‘Heartseeker’ to remove my immobility.
I also keep the ‘downed debuff’ and all my traits are ineffective while I have that debuff.

The only solution that I have to removing myself from the downed/rally limbo state is to simple get downed again and rally properly.

It’s a very frustrating problem, it’s been happening to me for a very long time now.
I’ve never heard of anyone else having this problem either.

If I can get a screenshot of it happening again I will update this post.

Until then, I hope this can get fixed

I can confirm that dual wielding Incinerators gives the flame effect on both hands, maybe this is a Frostfang issue?

I started to get this issue as of last night, too.

Hey, one thing I’ve been wanting for a long time is ‘x person is online/offline’ messages without all the loot spamming my chat box.

At the moment the chat filter for Game Messages shows friends coming online and everything you pick up which sometimes can be a tad annoying when you’re in a loot rich instance.
If I have game messages ticked I usually miss a lot in chat due to this.

Surely I can’t be the only one that wants this?

This is a stock standard laptop, I haven’t touched anything in the BIOS.

I re-created the crash in a highly populated area by switching from best performance to best appearance.

Hi, how are you all?

I’ve been having a pretty annoying issue lately…
First off I had a black screening issue on my desktop PC, it took me ages to fix it but it turned out to be my router, all I had to do was Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection and I was good to go!

Now, I just bought a brand spanking new laptop, and I’ve been trying to play GW2 on it (note this laptop is connected to the same router).

But my client often crashes due to a 2D texture error (GrTex2d.cpp), please note I submitted the ticket when the crash dialogue comes up.

I also get a random black screens on my laptop, and when I restart the client I get network errors quite often.
Also, when I log back into the game, the loading screen bounces back and forth between 2 maps, then it finally loads.

I’ve tried updating windows, clearing gw2cache… I feel like I’ve tried everything.
Note: I’m very tech literate so any suggestion will be considered

Please help, this is so kitten frustrating haha, I just wanna play the new living world happily

Hey guys,
So after trying every single fix under the sun, I FINALLY fixed my black screen issue.

Turns out my router was causing it all along! I have a Netgear D6300, I googled ‘netgear gw2’ and found a bunch of threads with people that had the same router as me.

Now, to fix the black screen issue, follow these steps:

1. Log into router (type 192.168.0.1 into browser)
2. Log in with username and password (default pass is easily googled)
3. Go to Advanced tab > Setup > WAN Setup and tick ‘Disable Port Scan and DoS Protection’
4. Press apply and the router will reboot.

Viola! That fixed my problem, I hope it helps you guys too!

UPDATE:

I think I may have fixed my issue!

So far I haven’t had a black screen. I’ll keep testing and get back to you if it happens.

I literally just re-installed windows, running on a 100% fresh copy and I still get the black screen.
I am also running driver 314.22 WHQL (recommended).

Yet to find a fix for my problem.

A few hours ago I formatted my windows partition, re-installed windows and installed nvidia drivers 314.22 WHQL.

Still got the black screen :\

Unfortunately, I have no way of bypassing my router (Netgear D6300).

Any other suggestions? Could it be GW2 itself?

306.23 didn’t work either (although there was a definite performance boost).

Currently downgrading to 306.23 drivers. Let’s see how that goes.

Everything is watercooled and running at stock speeds.
Currently winter here in Australia and I monitor my temps vigorously, nothing in my PC has tipped past 30C in a long time.

What’s up guys, noticed a lot of people are having this problem and have found no solution…
I get a random black screen and have to force close the gw2 process.
I constantly disconnect when I hop to another map and I cannot logout to the character select screen…
Sometimes when I waypoint to another map my loading screen flicks between the map I was on, and the one I’m going to a few times then the game just crashes.

Things I have tried:
- Reinstalled it completely (even deleted cache folder in appdata)
- Reinstalled video card drivers
- Repaired directx
- Changed the anti aliasing mode in the nvidia settings
- Ran the NCSoft Game Advisor (attatched)
- Port forwarded my router
- Disabled AVG anti-virus
- I am running 2 GTX 570 cards in SLI which power 3 monitors ( I have tried to play with just one, still crashes)
- No other game has issues like this at all

As you can see I’ve basically tried everything under the sun to no avail…
If anyone has a fix for this it’d be greatly appreciated, it’s super frustrating and I just love the game to bits!

If you need any more info, I will provide it.

Every time I try to go back to character select screen I get it…

I also get frequent black screens, which I have to force shut the process and restart.
I repaired directx and re-downloaded the entire client with no luck.

Hey guys, I’m an experienced player, I only just came back from 3 month break from GW2 so I might be a bit rusty but I trust my skill will come back soon haha

Basically I’m after a guild that runs dungeons quite often, obviously be friendly etc.
I’ve also never ran a guild mission/puzzle and would like to try them
I have 3 x level 80’s (thief, guard and ele) plus I’ll be levelling some more up soon!

What’s up guys I’m after a semi-hardcore guild that does a little bit of everything (I mainly run dungeons).
