Network Lag [Merged]

Antihoc.2503

Same for both me and my wife other than it started with the Edge of the Mist patch and continued with the last patch meaning over the last 3 weeks we have probably logged on for no more than an hour and in this time we have spent more time on a loading screen or dc’ing than actually playing the game.

We have even tried reporting the issue in game as a bug even that would not work due to the lag, dc’ing etc.

Frustrating as we both enjoy the game but this is beyond a joke and about time that Anet sorted this, but doubt they will as someone will point out that it is down to our internet, pc’s etc as we are both having issues (regardless that no other games or applications we use have this problem)

I dont know then, as far as I can recall I have never been able to use another players personal merchant so I would just be happy that you have had the use of an unintended bug for a while, but all good things can come to an end.
Why would they inform you that they have fixed a bug so that an item functions as it should?

According to the wiki “The Personal Merchant” is for use by the owner only, but the “Merchant Express” is for use by the owner and allies.

I dont post on the forums very often but having read this it just made me laugh that someone wants other people to accept their view (either as a review, forum post or blog etc) whilst rubbishing everyones elses opinion because they differ from what they percieve to be the facts (in their own eyes).

I would offer my own opinion on the game to date (both positive and negative) however I feel that it would be waste of time as the OP is not wanting a discussion but instead just using critiscm to fuel his own ego.

Big thank you

For taking 10 minutes from submitting a web based support ticket requesting a change of email address after I got it all wrong on my girlfriends account and could not authenticate it to receiving the emails with links for email and password changes.

Thank you for resolving the issues that fast that my gf did not have any time to give me grief.

Copied and pasted from the other thread with title in caps also on the same subject

I agree that overflow can be a pain but has it been confirmed that ‘guesting’ is the issue?

Or is it that the 100’s of people that populated their home servers did not bother with the dragon/ world events because of the kitten poor drops and now the loot is far better everyone on their home server wants a piece of it?

I see no proof either way at the moment so having yet another thread moaning about guesting is a little pointless, although this is a better quality thread because the title is all in caps

My sentiments exactly as posted by others above, once you hit the courtyard phase then there is something seriously out of line with regards difficulty when soloing (dont know about parties as not tried this way yet).
Died on starting the courtyard phase, restarted from last checkpoint, ran back all allies dead in areas that you could not rez anyway, all the risen had respawned (and maybe a few more) and could not get near anything without a mob stunning, crippling continously until you was dead again.
Quit after 6 deaths and will return with help to clear but until then not worth it.

Open world Duels [Merged]

Personally I do not want duelling or Inspect features in GW2.

I do not want unsolicited requests from people eager to show off their manly/ womanly prowess at being better then me (99% of players are better than me btw), therefore I would want to see a mechanism in place that automatically sets you as “Not available for duelling”
I also would not want to see duelling allowed in major outposts and cities etc (other than in set aside arena’s) so that those not interested in duelling do not have to have bouncing toons and flashing animations going off all around them.

The ability to inspect will only lead to more you cant join for x dungeon as your gear is not up to scratch, if you want to know what I am wearing then ask and if I am in the mood I will link it to chat.

Dont be sorry at all, you did your job very well and if things start to get scaled back to ensure 100% of the participants get what they want then just mail everyone a legendary weapon on dinging 80.

Having said that some care can be taken on camera views, racial heights in confined and busy areas as being human with Norn & Charr around me was bad, must have been a nightmare for the Asuran brethren.

Post here if you GAVE UP on the Clocktower!

For me I would be angered if you scaled back the difficulty, you added extra chests along the way to give that extra sense of acomplishment and at the top you actually felt like you had achieved something.

But before I get berated for this it took me 10-12 hours to complete it the first time, fell off the top 6 times before I worked out the jump through the clock face and yes felt like giving up on more than one occasion.

Went on to complete it a couple of times more after just to prove it was not a fluke the first time but would like to see some thought going into camera views, different races heights etc as these are things that make harder tasks so much more volatile during the heightened anxiety levels.

I would like to have a mount

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Posted by: Antihoc.2503

Antihoc.2503

For me I hope we never get mounts in game, I would rather see a buffed travelling speed if anything had to be added.
Being mounted means people are less likely to dismount to help out, rez etc whilst travelling, waypoints do the same but seeing as most people moan that they are to expensive and cant afford to use them solves this to some degree.

If mounts had to be added because Anet gave in to the “add mount” campaigners (and also realised it is a potential avenue for increased gem store sales) then they need to make you automatically dismount before entering any out post, town or city where they can be parked on NPC’s, in front of doors etc by people just for the sake of making access to these areas impossible (believe this was a favourite trick in that other game).

Jumping is old

in Halloween Event

Posted by: Antihoc.2503

Antihoc.2503

To be quite honest I dont see the issue with any of the jumping, yes its frustrating at times but then again its fun, so it costs a little in repair bills from falling deaths, it can really kitten you off when you forget to get the loot from the chest before leaving but at the end of the day it is just another element to a multi layered game.

My wife comes over all dizzy and the like with jumping puzzles and in the MK she employed the I fall, you rez stratergy on each occassion when we did it. We also did it with a PUG and never laughed so much at the raining bodies from missing the jumps etc.

If its not for you then do it to get the loot (if you really need the loot, karma, achievement etc) through gritted teeth and after you can just forget it. For me it is PVP, so I will get my POI etc for 100% world completion in WvW maps but may then never visit either WvW or sPvP after that.

Am I the only one who fears off my team in MK?

Frustrations over lack of endgame

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

Antihoc.2503

Dont know about the endgame because not there yet personally however could a forum mod or someone make a sticky thread were all the kitten “no end game” posts can go!!

This will help others not to have to sort through this type of thread and then the devs can go to one place to read what they need to do in the next update.

Will wait patiently for the “you dont have to read” comments (and similar)

My toughts on Guild Wars 2

At the end of the day we all play games differently and have our own goals and objectives within the game itself and the hardest thing for any company to do is design and market a product that will satisfy everyones expectations in terms of these goals and objectives.

My own advice would be if you see the potential in the game that you have admitted to, then keep playing and give it time to mature (at the end of the day it is still under 1 month old) otherwise you can always mothball the game and come back to it in a few months time as there is no subscription (another benefit of b2p), but at the end of the day it is your choice and no one on here can tell you what to do.

Personally me and my missus have been playing for a couple of hours each night after work and a little longer at weekends, have explored all the areas had fun and not even broke level 40 yet but that is our choice and how we have fun in game.

Gendarran Fields / Human Leveling

Finished Gendarran Fields yesterday at level 35 before going to next area, like others have said I mixed in a little bit of crafting and completed the personal story upto around the level 33.
I think that doing the daily achievement helped a bit on this for me because at least it meant that I was not skipping events etc whilst I was in this area

I dont understand these threads, if the game is not what you want then you have a few choices:

a) stop playing and move onto something new
b) carry on playing until the game is a least 6 months old and see how it evolves before making any decision
c) play the game like it was designed to be played without being under the impression that it is a replacement for your favourite game of all time

GW2 is GW2 it is not WOW, DOAC etc, if I wanted it to be like these games then I would not have bought it I would have bought these games instead including all the issues they have.

Another “PLAY THE GAME LIKE IT IS OR GO AWAY!”-post. Unconstructive. User-feedback is what makes good games. Get real.

“HOW DARE YOU CRITICIZE THIS GAME!!!” lol

And as far as retorts go then you are the man……

I have a lot of criticizm for this and other games, but I also know when a game dont suit my needs then I dont play the game……

but I also dont need to come on to a forum QQ that a game not a month old is doomed because it is not to my style and should be more like my favourite game of all time……where is this constructive?

Aion had open world pvp and you could not get anywhere due to ganking by the leet peeps who thought it was great to one shot you whilst you leveled just to feed their ego.

Dueling? Soon please!

in Guild Wars 2 Discussion

I am not bothered one way or another if duelling is introduced or not because it does not bother me.
What does bother me is the countless unsolicited duel requests that accompany such a feature (mainly because I forget to turn it off admittedly) therefore if it is introduced I would like to see the default setting for this to be off and you have to make the changes to switch deuelling on.

Thank you!

Thanks for what to date has been a most excellent experience slightly hindered by a few bugs and teething problems but to be honest none have been show stoppers.

Once again thanks for all the hard work both in the past and future
