As much as I’d like to add to the discussion, I can’t comment too much on PvP as I feel like I don’t have the raw experience to comment on it. But I can see where it’d be upsetting in that scenario.

I kinda think it is timing also. I’ve played many games in general where teleporting would rubberband and after playing around it so much, I can honestly say I’ve never had the rubberband effect while using Lightning Flash (and I have the skill on my bar about 95% of the time). Flaming Retreat, however, has given me problems, albeit being seldom at most. Every single time has been due to me trying to move too soon or trying to use another skill.

It kind of bothers me you don’t use earth 5.

More rings. The 4 silver is really starting to add to my wallet and I’ve noticed a HUGE increase in my cash from from NPCing the rings. (sarcasm)

But can’t say no to free 4s when I’m a scrub and always have below 20g ._.

Just curious, which class can land the biggest crits in PvE? Screenshots are encouraged as well!

You know honestly, I was about to post that the hostility wasn’t needed at the beginning of this thread. But then I read on and realized…you guys are right. Stacking does go punished if you just do it to do it. It’s the same as other games that have bosses that has certain mechanics and/or conditions you need to meet; doing the aforementioned with a near flawless precision would lead the the misconception that said mechanics and/or conditions are “exploits” or “broken” or the such, when in reality, a lot of players just failed to not use a seemingly “easy” technique.

By saying this, I’m not saying that stacking is uber easy (or hard), rather, as previously stated more than once or twice, it is the failure of understanding why players stack where they do.

Sounds like a mix of Cleric’s and other armor with toughness/vit/str. I run 2.5/6 k in full cleric’s gear with 0/0/2/6/6 (the extra from attuning to earth) with no food. The only thing is, I have less hp I think.

Four things come to mind that you could have made a mistake on:

Dragon Fang bugging and not actually dropping in Ring of Fire.
Phoenix not being inside Ring of Fire or also cancelling the skill.
Cancelling Arcane Brilliance.
Cancelling Earthquake.

I’ve only played AC at the moment, and I’ve done fairly well, but I was wondering if theres anything I could improve.

I play a warrior, Greatsword and Hammer, however longbow if ranged is needed, and I always carry a sword, sheild and axe with me. (I use Sword/Axe for condi when needed)

On my bar its Healing signet, Shake it off, For great justice, Bulls charge and Signet of Rage.

Traits: 4/0/4/2/4

And my armor/weapons are all zerker and I’m working on my rings andtrinkets, but my amulet is, Gwen’s Necklace, I needed the extra toughness, but I’m getting another once I get the laurals to swap out when I don’t.

Is there something I could be doing better?

IMO, the best possible thing that you could be doing is what you’re doing now: Asking for help. Learn from Purple Miku, Colsey/Maha/Hendo/Dub, Leo (No Pulse/noobgood), spoj, and all the other amazing dungeon runners on here. Listen to what they say, they’ve proven what they’re talking about both mathematically and practically. If they say to change something, change it. Open your ears and eyes and try to get better every day. Abandon your ranged weapons outside of very specific circumstances. Melee everything. Become a student of [noob]. Get a mentor. Practice, Practice, Practice. Enjoy the practicing as a process to getting better. If you die/fail, stop and think “Why/how did I fail?” Answer your question yourself after thinking, or ask your party, or the forum regulars. Try not to make the same mistake twice.

You won’t be Dub, Goku, Purple Miku or anyone else like that over night. It takes time and practice. Be humble. Admit your mistakes and don’t accuse others of messing up. If you died, most of the time it’s YOUR fault.

I agree with this man. The best way to learn generally in games is by asking and being open to everyone’s advice. I’ve found that even sometimes the rude people you might encounter in mmos might have a thing or two you can learn from them.

If you chose what level your group is doing in fractals, therefore “opening” the fractal, do NOT relog and do NOT leave the party if you need to repair. If you dc, you won’t reset the fractal, but if you do one of the two aforementioned points, then you’ve just wasted 4 people’s time.

If you REALLY need to go afk for a while (parents making you eat or wife slapping you upside the head or kids throwing flaming kittens of doom for food), then I personally rather you just afk rather then leaving…on the third or last stage. If you think you might have to leave in the middle of a fractal, simply let someone else choose the difficulty to open.

It’s not hard really. For S/D

Fire 2 → Fire 4 → Fire 3 → Arcane Brilliance (while using this, swap to earth attunement) → Arcane blast → Earth 4 → Earth 5.

It’s not perfect at all but just practice it and it’ll become easy. Hell, you won’t even have to use S/D after you stack if you prefer other weapons. After watching DEKeys’ vids, I’ve gotten into the habit of stack with s/d then switching to my staff because I just love using staff over any other weapons.

10) For every 1 sensible poster, there are at least 5 or more to counter-act it.

11) Gotta blame ANet.

12) Pugs are always completely and utterly terrible but you’re the only good one in your group.

13) Your opinion is the only one that should matter. If anyone tells you otherwise, ignore their “evidence”, attempt to talk circles around them, convince them that they’re wrong and insist that your view is the only valid option. Ever. Period. Kapeesh?

If it’s just about surviving and you already have a cleric set or any other semi tanky set laying around, sit in fire until it happens, swap to water, mist form 2-3 of the hits and you’ll live.

I try to go with the mass but I always seem to be the odd apple haha
