Dual-channel RAM (crash fix)

Are you saying that a system-intense game like The Witcher 3 wouldn’t run into the same memory issues as Guild Wars 2

Witcher 3 is not a CPU demanding game, actually. Neither are most single player games. Most current games are bound to GPU power mostly. GW2 (and most MMO’s) is much more CPU demanding, while using not much GPU resources. So if all those other games that didn’t make your system crash are single player games, they’re very different than GW2.

And as people already has said (just to confirm it), dual channel is a low level hardware thing. Only the memory controller is aware of it, it’s 100% transparent to the rest of the system. If dual channel affects stability, there’s a hardware problem somewhere between the RAM sticks and the memory controller.

Yes, sometimes hardware issues only show up in very specific circumstances.

  • This achievement is also a tricky one, I would recommend you disable your auto attack so that you are precisely controlling when you hit the holograms. Necros, Rangers, Mesmers; watch your minions, pets, clones, and phantasms, their damage counts against you if you are not attuned. Engineers, your turrets fall under that category as well. For all professions, I would recommend crafting your build based solely on damage your character does and not use any summons or sources of outside damage. Again, attention is critical, always be aware of your current attunement and the attunement of the hologram you are fighting.

Is it even possible for a mesmer to do this? I mean basically no illusions can be out whatsoever during the entire fight.

Has any mesmer done this? (If so you should get a special medal or something)

Really? Check out what those F1-4 keys do.

Yes, the F1-4 jay makes you clones explode, making AOE damage, which means they can hit an enemy with the wrong attunement. Doesn’t seem to solve anything.

Daily Fractal bugged too.

The story mode isn’t an actual fractal, it’s a living story instance. Run an actual fractal and it’ll count.

The story mode counts towards the monthly fractal achievement.

Dodge jump for master of baubles ? (help!)

The thing is that it’s needed here. It’s the only place in the entire SAB where a dodge jump is needed, which I found weird. Once on the top I looked around trying to find another way, but didn’t find any.

[Merged] Your opinions of the LFG tool

Part of the fun is discovering things for yourself, and if you don’t like that, the LFG tool is not for you. Find an “experienced” group in map chat.Part of the fun is discovering things for yourself, and if you don’t like that, the LFG tool is not for you. Find an “experienced” group in map chat.

And what’s the problem with groups asking for experienced players? Does that stop you joining groups without such requirement? You can still join or create a group to do a first run of a dungeon. I agree with you that’s much fun to run a dungeon without viewing a guide, but I don’t expect experienced groups to accept me in such case (which, TBH, would kill the fun for me, it would be the same as watching a guide, even worse). At the same time, if I want to run a dungeon I’m already experienced with, I’m certainly not always in the mood of having to teach someone.

I really don’t see why different kind of groups can’t use the LFG tool. Isn’t that elitism in itself? So people complain about “elitist” groups, but then they want those groups to not use the LFG tool?

You know how I learned? I told groups I had whatever stats they wanted to hear I had, broke up dozens of groups for every one I completed a dungeon with when I first started. Didn’t change my build for anybody, because I actually play the way I want to. And I don’t feel bad about it at all. Was I ruining their play experience? Probably. What is that to denying anyone a play experience at all? Pretty much the same. Not proud of it but as I said earlier in the thread, the amount of patience these elitist groups require others to have while having none themselves justifies such actions.

And why, instead of recurring to lying to people, don’t you search for people with the same objectives/play style as you? That way you don’t ruin other’s play experience and you play the way you want. You really sound very selfish.

Seriously people… what is so wrong with players playing with others that have the same goals?

Really, this.

Doesn’t look like a bug, specially considering this minigame was inspired by Mario Kart and that game has many shortcuts like this (yes, some of them are just before the goal too).

I’ve completed w2 z1 and z2 without any jump dodge, so it’s not required anywhere.

Question for Core 2 Duo users

all on high settings with Shadows on High and Native sampling.

Drop shadows to medium. The differenece in quality is not much, but there’s a quite big performance improvement. If I set shados to high I usually get 10-15 less fps in areas with lots of dynamic shadows (like forests or towns).

I have an e6750 @ 3.2 GHz, 6 GB of RAM and a HD6950 2GB. I run everything on max except shadows on medium (I could put them on low, but the performance increment is low for a much worse image quality) and reflection to “ony terrain and sky” (setting it to nothing doesn’t improve the performance). Everything is maxed because there’s no performance difference.

I usually get around 40 fps in low crowded areas (although in certain zones it can drop to 20-25), and can drop to around 15 fps in big DE. WvW sieges are just unplayable, I’m lucky if I get more than 5 fps.

Not being a big WvW fan, I’d say my experience is just ok. Looking forward to upgrade my CPU shortly.

You’ll think twice before acting in poor taste in a public setting in GW2 again.

Are you saying that poor taste should be bannable? Amazing.

I’m stil “lol-ing” at the Fleshlight stuff, priceless. My question is, what delinquent even KNEW what a “Fleshlight” was, enough to consider it offensive and inappropriate….

All I know it that it’s a single letter away from “flashlight”. So if I mistype “flashlight” I may get banned.

I think these kind of bans shouldn’t be automatic, because words have a context, and words in different contexts have different meanings/connotations. Not to talk about possible mistypes (b an f are not that far away, so I may type the F word instead of buck, and all it takes is 10 people who don’t like me/are bored to get a ban).

Also, I don’t think swearwords are offensive by themselves, it’s the way they’re used that can make them offensive. Of course, this would require a manual method. An automatic system is much cheaper. I’m puzzled that some people approve this.
