Huge respect as a pug to anyone willing to tag up and lead a map, You got it harder than a raid leader in my opinion, no leverage over players to join TS, run appropriate build etc and when it goes wrong you know you’ll hear from the armchair commanders in chat. You said you’ve been doing it for ~6 months no wonder you feel a bit burned out. So respect for having the nerve to do it in the first place.

I’d say if you’re enjoying what you’re doing and still have followers keep doing it. Try not to fixate on things you cannot change, when you win you’ll know you did it the hard way. As soon as it feels like a chore take a break and then you can come back to it refreshed no need to make anything final.

I don’t have a problem with this, not a big fan either because I don’t like anyone telling me how to play the game that I bought. What I don’t like is the hypocrisy of some of the guilds I come across, “pugs” (almost always used in a derogatory manner) must in no way interfere or harm the way they wish to play the game however they will happily drop your server at a moments notice or disrupt your play style without a single thought.

Personally I’ll try to honour however another person/group wishes to play, and likewise the more mature guilds will do the same. If a person or group do, interfere knowingly or not, better to shrug it off instead of having a meltdown in chat or ordering them to adhere to your personal demands.

In all seriousness though I cannot agree that hitting Alt-F4 every time you see a class you don’t want to fight is a legitimate way to play the game and it would probably even make more sense to me if you just let the other player kill you by doing nothing, at least it would be faster to start playing again.

Either that or you’re based on a T1 server and have gotten that frustrated with queue times that you decided to make a post inciting others to Alt-F4 every time they see a thief or mesmer, which when roaming is going to be fairly frequent, in order to get the queues moving faster.

Alt-F4 as a protest wow. Personally I see it as completely counter-productive. Your opponent isn’t going to ponder the strength of their build and see you as a crusader of fair play but rather interpret you as a bad who rage quit. Some will be left felling happy that they pushed you over the edge and others sad that you robbed them of a fight but I very much doubt any will consider there build choice.

The enjoyment from roaming for me comes from the danger, I could get rolled by a superior player, smashed by a superior build or uneven matchup, I could turn a corner and get ganked by a zerg and all of these things will frustrate me but without the downs the ups wouldn’t be worth anything.

Banners don’t stack except for the might from Warbanner.

If two warriors already have Strength and Discipline covered, you should just bring For Great Justice, On My Mark, and Frenzy (or Shake it Off if you’re having trouble due to conditions but this is a slow group and L2Dodge issue).

This is what I thought and why I asked the guy to look at what had been pinged when he was going on about the strength banner. Obviously I still made a mistake in choosing tactics but he was telling me to swap to strength… So I don’t know, whatever, I’ll move on thank you for your replies.

Thank you for the reply. I will run with the strength in future then. What wound me up was the manner in which he spoke to me if he had been as clear and concise as you have been of course I would have changed. I am doing the run for the same reasons as everyone else and if we can shave 10 secs off great.

This has been my first really negative pug experience and I let it get to me a little more than I should have considering all the fun runs with good people that I have had.

I am in need of some advice. I’ve been running cof p1 for gold for quite a while now and was under the impression that it was best to run three banners: discipline, strength and tactics.

I joined a group and the first warrior pinged discipline so I changed to strength and pinged it the third warrior pinged strength after me but I said no problem changed to tactics and pinged. Nothing was said.

We complete the first run easy and in good time with no comments. Second run we get to slave driver and one guy gets upset about my tactics banner. He’s going on about strength but someone had pinged it and was supposed to be running it, it was hard to understand what he wanted. Two strength or discipline banners, change to defence or something else? I say please scroll up to see why I changed. So I don’t change and we carry on. This is all happening in a decent time and we haven’t had to stop let alone wipe. At effigy I drop my tactics banner and the guy stops and goes nuts full caps we told you to change tactics is rubbish blah blah. So I say again to scroll up that way he can see why I changed and if he still doesn’t like it he knows what everyone else is running so he can tell me what he wants. Then I get kicked. Before boss is dead, so I’m raging, the only name I had was the mesmer’s and to my shame ranted a bit at them, which I did apologise for.

So my questions are: was I so wrong in picking tactics, because I thought the added boon duration is ok after discipline and strength had been taken and if I shouldn’t pick tactics after strength and discipline have been taken what should I run?

And finally if the guy who had the problem is reading this, dude wtf.

And finally, finally if the Mesmer I raged at is reading this I am sorry for taking it out on you, it is not the kind of impression i wish to give off as a gamer or a person. Thank you for being as understanding as you were I did not deserve for you to be so relaxed.

The term OP has become OP. Pls Anet nerf it now or I will quit your game, for realz.

Possible suggestions:

Remove caps i.e. op. (takes the edge off I feel)
Change meaning to On Par (as in on par for the course, meaning to be expected)
Remove the O and P keys from everyone’s keyboards (a logistical nightmare)

Whatever the solution I want it fixed yesterday so you best be getting a move on or there will be consequences!
