Sooo I think you’re already familiar with Jaea. She had an outfit change since you last saw her. The short one is Kiyye, who’s basically the exact opposite. Necromancer. Sober, no-nonsense, reserved, well-dressed. Very asuran. Respects and probably even likes her sylvari companion, but of course won’t make this obvious, so she resorts to sarcasm and insults. Like “Cabbage”.

Most of us agree with your stance on dungeon-running; one of our group used to speed-run us through the dungeons, and we got so burnt-out doing them because it wasn’t any fun. I, on the other hand, would merely like to point out that, while the current destruction of Lion’s Arch was the doing of one sylvari, Scarlet Briar (who may or may not have been at least partially indoctrinated by an Elder Dragon), it was also a sylvari (Trehearne) that organized the Pact and played a key role in the defeat of the Elder Dragon Zhaitan.

Most sylvari are generally peaceful and good-natured. On the other hand, YOU’RE advocating the genocide of an entire race.

As a one that is slowly getting addicted to this part of the forum it is really hard not to notice you :-)

I believe Ghosts of Ascalon presented sylvari nomenclature with regard to cycles as “[Name], of the Cycle of [time of day]”. Then again, this was used more for purposes of introduction, and acts more like a title than anything.

My thinking is, if your sylvari was named something like [Name] Dawnborn, the surname would theoretically be shared with a quarter of the sylvari population.

I could be wrong, but I’m pretty sure that at the end of the first conversation you have after exiting the dream, your character will inquire about having “a certain attire”, and you’ll be directed to talk to somebody nearby to reclaim your armor.

Makes more sense than being born fully clothed.

I think it would be difficult to advance technologically if you restricted yourself to plant-based solutions anyway, so of course a sylvari with an innovate side could take up engineering.

Heck, engineers are a varied class, so it’s easy to have fun with. For example, my sylvari engineer started out trying to find an alchemical solution to promote fire resistance in sylvari. She tested her concoctions herself and one… backfired. Now she’s kind of mentally unbalanced. And by that I mean, she tends to prefer her surroundings be on fire.

So now it’s easy to see how she might prefer using the elixir gun and flamethrower. Overall, I picture her as a sort of “mad scientist” type, so engineer makes a lot of sense for her.

I can already see my sylvari donning her fancy winter outfit for Wintersday next month and joking that she’s a dandelion.

She’s such a dork.

My asura will refer to a sylvari as “cabbage”, but that’s probably more a slur than a slang.

I bought a makeover kit from the gem store, and just last night I found the perfect combination of glow color/intensity to make my heavy tier 3 shoulder match my sylvari’s hair both day and night.

Aaand patch today, and my shoulder spikes, colored burgundy, now barely glow a brighter red instead of glowing pink, like the tips of my hair.

Maybe roll the shoulder armor back please? Kind of kills the entire reason I spent my gems…
