So, to bring all this stats back into the real world, let’s realize what’s happening for the Engi player in both Method A and Method B.
In Method A, the Engi doing a DPS test spams bomb autos for 60 seconds, using some method to clock his shrapnel DPS over those 60 seconds, and stops at 60 seconds. All good.
In Method B, however, the Engi does his DPS test, but after 60 seconds… he just lets the timer run for an additional 12 seconds. Doing nothing. Applying no extra Shrapnel uses. This is not a reasonable scenario for any sort of test.
Engi needs something to give it a situation in which you’d pick it over something else in PvE content. Anything Engi can do, you can probably find a team-mate that can do it in addition to what they’re doing. In short, Engi has no niche. So what can we do to fix that?
My solution is to add a trait that adds a buff to damage on superspeed in the Master tier of the Scrapper line. Why? It brings group utility, a reason for Engi to try to apply superspeed, and a use for some of the under-utilized traits like Final Salvo and Shocking Speed. I think this could put Engi in a competitive place in raids, and give them a unique use that makes them something to consider picking.
Of course, superspeed as a whole isn’t in a good spot. Multiple applications of it doesn’t work well with each-other and make it clunky and difficult to keep up on allies. I think either increasing duration and cooldown of the superspeed traits on Engi, or allowing the buff to stack duration would help make it a reasonable thing to dish out. Because using a leap/blast finisher in lightning every ten seconds for 3 seconds of superspeed that may or may not actually be useful depending on if superspeed is already active sucks.
I currently play Condition Engineer best, but I’m working on getting a DPS thief built for raids as well.
I’m looking to raid in the afternoons on any day (Preferably after 6-7 PST)
I’m highly experienced as an engineer and could probably take the slot of any generic DPS on bosses that don’t particularly need an engineer for mechanics.
I can’t commit to any sort of rep requirements, as I’m currently an officer of a non-raiding guild, but I will do everything possible to make the raid time or notify you ahead of time so you can find a replacement.
You also can’t infused the Energized Loops from raids.
It was a random team mate that I wasn’t partied with.
I just lost two pips on a 4v5 because one of my team-mates went to character select when the match started and did not return. I don’t see how this can be considered a fair or sensible system.
Is there any chance we’ll be able to see the online/offline status of guild members on the roster through the API? I’d love to create a graph to see peak activity times.
Open World Content has become the standard for anyone who is trying to create a group for content that does not have a tab. This means that people trying to create a group for raids drown out groups for actual open world content.
I know raids aren’t intended to be done with a PuG, but people are going to try (and probably succeed) despite any attempts to hinder that. For the sake of making the LFG not a cluttered mess, please seperate raids from open world content.
I liked the feel of Scrapper, and how mobile it was on the battlefield. However, Gyros are really clunky with this feel, and I ended up using none of them. Blast Gyro’s long channel time detracts from the quick, mobile feel of the scrapper.
As well, function gyro is essentially useless in PvE thanks to the clunky method by which you send it out to revive people, which is targeting them and pressing F. It could be made more useful by increasing the actions it can perform. For example : picking up Elementalist weapons and ambient weapons. As well, it could also potentially be used to gather resources from nodes.
I just want to be able to make my Legendary giver’s , and be able to slot versatile infusions into Giver’s gear. Perhaps ascended Giver’s Gear could keep the same +condi duration as it’s exotic variant, and have a 5% increase on the other stats?
You can unofficially trade them by using them on someone else’s custom arena to extend the time before it expires.
I’d like to see them implement this as a Mystic Forge recipe. Put your gem store gathering tools into the MForge with some other stuff, get 2 gem store gathering tools out. Seems reasonable.
I currently play a carrion/rabid engineer mainly. Is dungeon soloing even remotely feasible for me, or should I just try to level another character first?
These items, (Mawdrey II, Star of Gratitude), should be permanently available for everyone to obtain. They should probably be more difficult to obtain for those who missed out the first time, but they’re pretty much essential to anyone who wants to have any inventory space at all. I mostly only bring this up because my inventory is 90/100 from all the ascended mats.
For one… HOW DID SHE GET THERE!? It obviously exploded before sylvari were born, considering Dessa has no idea what sylvari are. (I’m going off the theory that Dessa was locked in the fractals during the thaumanova explosion, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong/bad at life)
Secondly, no inquest, golems, deadly radiation, unstable portals, etc. stopped her? It took five adventurers to be able to traverse the reactor.
tl;dr, anet need to use more logic and less “LET’S PUT SCARLET IN EVERYTHING CAUSE WE THINK SHE’S COOL”. You’re sinking your own ship, ANET.
By this, I mean give them the targeting of engineer turrets, instead of some kitten y AI
Seriously, it’s pretty bad when I pop my elite in a dungeon and they start firing at the ground or some random structure instead of the boss. Let our plant turrets hit what we hit!
Thank you, may I have another?
But seriously, I’m incredibly dissapointed with ANET’s “GIVE ME MONEY BY SERVER TRANSFERRING” wvw update. Mainly because Anvil rock’s slow climb did a complete 180 as soon as the league announcement hit. So, in message to all the servers that are fighting our horribly understaffed, transfered-out server : “Thank you, may I have another?”
Anvil Rock was empty long before bloodlust… The only people left are diehard WvWers that won’t ragequit… unless we so happen to be trying to keep people inside a tower or a keep without fighting anything ;_;
You’ve all seen it. A guild’s banners in a fort, but none of them to be found actually trying to keep those banners flying. There is currently no reward for guilds to try to hold places, so why bother?
I’d like to see a system where guilds get influence for each tick they hold a location, that ramps up each tick. As well, I’d like to see some sort of cost to be implemented for claiming a location. (Probably influence, so guilds will have to hold what they claim for a couple hours or they get a net loss of influence)
Probably won’t happen, the devs are more focused on changing the BL, but it would be a great way to make defense more rewarding.
Yes, but you can’t particularly experiment with world ranks when there’s no resetting them, now can you?
Manvil Rock, the only server where the men are men, the women are sometimes women, and the guilds are bacon-flavored.
