Make sure it is at least two weeks in advance to avoid “sudden” holiday breaks.
Here at MERC, we value our customers.
Please allow up to 14 playing days for us to prepare an answer for your Public Defeat Acknowledge Application Form A93739278 . Results will be posted onto the official wuvwuv forums.
Applications are void if you suffer a loss during this processing period. Please resubmit after a subsequent WvW victory. Early submissions will be made void and a USD 50 processing penalty will be charged.
Thank you for shopping with us, we know you have other choices when it comes to WvW, and we appreciate your decision to choose MERC.
Dear MERC Offshore Representative,
Thank you for finally starting to process Sea of Sorrow’s Public Defeat Announcement. Your support website “band-wagonrus.com” and and service number “1-800-Holier-Than-Thou” has been unresponsive since the holiday season. Also, please inform Evon Gnashblade that his company, “MERC”, is in violation of child labor laws for hiring and recruiting prepubescent employees.
Sincerely,

I found both these posts hilarious. Though I would like to point out that MERC has been on SoS for way before we got any NA transfers and started rising through tiers so bandwagoners might be a tad inaccurate for us(not so much our server sadly). Also MERC themselves may have taken a break(some of them its not like we all just stopped logging in, I know I didn’t) but that doesnt really take away from JQ they beat us, I’m ok with that, I rather welcome it really.(not enough to not try and stop them but still a bit)
That said I personally found the week we lost to be one of the few weeks I’ve actually enjoyed WvW in awhile, It was nice to know that our beloved enemies could still push like that and win. trying to stop them was great fun, and gave a bit of tension back to the game for me.
Sad to see SBI go, though happy to see a bit of a mix up. Good luck SBI, and incidentally SOR get here already so we can have a re-match

WM…….I will fall asleep with the nightmare of these letters floating above everything, in my dreams, they haunt me. no matter where I look all I see is WM
DEAR GOD HOW CAN YOU BE EVERYWHERE AT ONCE.
serious though lovely fighting tonight/this morning whatever.
that said, SCORES!

…OMG PRESENTS!
The more I think about it, the more I’d be 100% comfortable with it if players had their spirit stand on top of their body when defeated. It’d solve everything as there’d be a lore-appropriate reason for it to happen.
Not to mention would look cool.
That said, I’d be ok if it moved them to a map view after say a minute or 2, they can still judge the fight from the amount of dead people icons), or living allies icons. and even spectate for a little, but not really spy.
I’m late, but PINK wherever the hell they are(and whatever server they are on), for the awesome Golem duel we had with them at the end of one of our matchups!
Personal thoughts on stealth, It’s not meant to be permanent so breaking it goes against it’s design(meaning you shouldnt need stealth breakers as an opponent as it shouldnt be lasting that long)
1. Firstly apply revealed debuff when stealth ends regardless of whether or not the thief attacked from stealth or not.
AND
2. Either Make stealth abilities not stack(least favoured idea as it will render certain auto stealths from traits useless)
OR
2. make the revealed last as long as the last stealth did(with a minimum of 3 seconds regardless) this allows theives to stack shadow refuge and whatever, but when it ends (by attack or not) it will last for as long as they stacked it. Also prevents them just ending it quickly with an attack to restealth fast.
(To be clear the idea is to have both 1 and then 1 of the 2 options as well).
Culling aside this would make thieves either pick to have long durations of stealth with long durations of revealed afterwards, or simply weave in and out of stealth at a less crazy pace then it currently does, (it wont break PvE thieves this way) and it shouldnt be a huge nerf while still fixing(at least in my mind) the near infinite stealth some theives can pull off.
And yes im a thief, always have been always will be.
(edited by Azariah.8420)
Evidently, 1v1 is a part of WvW because there will be times when you will run into a player like myself. What do you do?
I primarily scout in wvw, most times a single player walking around is about as important as the deer(unless you are a mesmer in our keep
). And I treat them as such. Unless you are standing on an objective im involved in taking, you’re going to be ignored. finding the enemy movements, supply counts, numbers, siege etc. is way more important to me than getting into a 1v1 with someone, that will effectively do nothing but make one of us respawn.
Of course if you actually manage to catch me and attack then, if im not on an important task, im more than happy to fight.
I’m just gonna throw this out there, but considering the topic is Heartseeker, not how broken is thief. My thiefs base auto attack(1st of the chain) does more damage then my heartseeker if they are over 50% percent health.
Granted im not a glass cannon so my straight up damage is much less than other thieves but it’s not an opener, or even usefull untill they are nearly dead anyway, or decide to run away(which is still questionable as to the worth of the initiative to catch them with it)
Won’t say there is nothing wrong with thief, definitely not as much as people think, but not nothing, but Heartseeker certainly isnt one.
Can we remove the ability for these two to not go through the portals when they use there skill Mist form/
God he doesn’t want the ability itself removed, just the moving through tower portals when using it. Stop arguing like he asked to have the entire ability removed.
I agree it’s kinda annoying that they can get through portals with their skills, but mine doesn’t work(even though if i use a teleport onto the portal when alive i get ported through) this seems inconsistent and that is what annoys me.
But at the same time I’m not really fussed when they do, warriors can be spiked before they can vengeance, and ele’s need something useful in downed
Few things:
1. This victory belongs primarily to the hardcore Oceanic WvWers of Sea of Sorrows,You are selling your NA and especially your EU players short. Whenever I looked at late Asian-Oceanic times, SBI usually did pretty well. Not the 600+ we might have had in some matches, but solid leads. It was always the EU SoS team that turned the table around and left us with an uphill battle during NA times (when SoS NA defended very well). Without your great EU players, you would not have such a large lead, and likely have lost the match.
In T1, you need good coverage in all 3 time zones, 2 is not enough.
- Xeeron
Well I’m pretty sure he thanked the NA guys, but …we have EU players? I apologise in advance if we have EU guilds running around I was unaware of, but…..when did that happen?
“Our guys caught on quick, and I saw a few WM members standing next to him shooting arrows at his toon saying “you go bad man”
I honestly cannot stop laughing at this. I feel sorry for you, but at least the people on SBI that were saying we should just get along with daish can understand us a bit more now, (not saying that you all were, but pretty sure some of SBI members were a bit surprised by the amount of dislike for him)
Hmmm I’d like it if anyone in combat didnt contribute to speeding up the res. So for instance 3 people reviving outside of combat = 3 times faster or whatever, 1 person out of combat and 4 in combat = speed of 1 person reviving. that way all they do is add bodies to soak interrupts and such(still an advantage but not an insta res) and then attacking them will do something as well.(slow down the res, allowing more damage in, more time to spike etc)
Moot point anyway assuming they do what they say.(regarding gear)
Congrats for achieving what you wanted to – but still – all this was only possible with people leaving other other servers – basically – the meta-game and not the actual game.
For every server that gains from transfers – at least one server is hurt by it. Not a good foundation for the game in my book. I’d rather win on the field than in the forums.
Agreed to an extent, it was only possible from transfers, but seeming as they were mostly bailing from another server anyways, I’m ok with that. Plus I only grant the transfers brought us up to servers who also had larger coverage areas(T2), we still won on our own merit after that.
Ascended and infusion rewards will be available in both PvE and WvW over time, and be made available through all sorts of content around the world including existing content. PvP will remain unaffected to ensure our intended PvP balance going forward. We are also working on other reward and progression systems for the game that tie into current and new content and features.
This is good.
I don’t mind having new gear itself(assuming it doesnt turn into a gear grind), as long as I don’t have to go dungeon for it ugh
awww the charity thread got deleted
um….i dunno what to do anymore. tell your friends over the phone i guess
Too much gw2 advertising, gotta be careful of that
What’s stopping you from getting the gear? PvE players will get it for PvE and WvW, WvW players will have to do the same. I get what you’re saying, but all I’m reading is laziness and no will to explore outside of WvW.
Ugh. Firstly Anet specifically marketed their game as NOT having a gear grind, secondly they continued said marketing by saying you will NOT be forced into doing things you do not want to do to stay competitive gear wise(within reason) Creating gear that supersedes the currently available gear, and then making it ONLY available by doing PvE dungeon grinding, violates both of these promises.
It’s not a matter of willingness to explore outside of WvW(which shouldn’t be necessary anyway) but a matter of dev’s implementing things they specifically said they will not do.
Well, seeming as anet seem hellbent on keeping the npc’s regardless of what we think, I’d much rather we were able to put them somewhere tactically usefull rather than just wandering the wilderness. (though the event should be contestable, like the camps control ones) so as to at least allow other players to come in and get control instead. thus encouraging pvp as well
People who dismiss the idea outright just aren’t thinking it through. We still have free transfers, use them if needed. This would even out the population considerably, there would only be queue for people who “want” queues for the sake of winning, just as there is now. Agreed of course that they essentially need “guild transfers” atm.
The only downside is the unofficial oceanic server would get utterly screwed. They would have to completely disband. I’m honestly not sure if this is necessarily a bad thing at this point, though, as staying all in one server is only making their matches boring for themselves. I know for darned certain if I was australian I wouldn’t be on that server.
Eh? maybe you should try being on this server, our last few weeks of fighting have been great fun, was only boring while we were matched up with lower tier servers without night crews. T2 amd T1 have given great competition.
On a related note, I agree that some kind of pop control needs to be implemented as, as stated 100vs10 is not fun, BUT the problem I see with this one is, if at reset everyone is even in pop, and one server starts winning, the other 2 will start leaving(like they always do), thus reducing the overall number of people in wvw,
Then the people that were already in on the winning side, will just stay(unless you force them out) cap everything, and it snowballs, people on the losing side will not come back in, new people on the winning side cannot get in. I think when it comes to queues the servers with less pop in wvw should get in first over servers with more people already(to within a certain number, too small a gap and it would just be silly)
2 things, firstly money, it’s not impossible to make money from WvW, but the rate is ridiculously slower and harder to maintain(assuming you make upgrades and such) than it is in pve. ive probably made 40 gold(since launch, including random loot found there as well) from wvw in total, which whilst more than enough for my own personal needs(apart from cultural t3 which is more of a want) it pales in comparison to the amounts people are making from pve. So not impossible, just much much slower than other forms of money grinding.
If a gear grind rocks up, im probably leaving, i HATE gear grinding, reason i stopped WAR reason i stopped swtor, especially considering the remarks made about how that would NOT happen in gw2.
On a side note you can use the orange swords to mess with the zerg as well
on a side note even if it is contested there is a small window(10 or so seconds) between the defense events(when one ends, it takes a tiny amount of time to trigger again) where it is usable anyway.
i’m sure you’ll respond to this in your usual third person snarkiness but know this – the majority of SoS WvW’ers have taken measure of you and no longer care.
Only problem with comment.
Whilst I agree that bandwagoners are evil(ones that just hop from winner to winner etc), people that transfer themselves may not be, one time transfers I like, WvW badly needs transfers to get semi even matches, otherwise population imbalance just screws everything up. Once a server has the population spread to cover all the major timezones, then its good, once we get multiple servers with those, we start to get good matches.
T1/T2 in NA are close to balancing, coverage still has issues but not as large as lower tiers where one oceanic team or euro team can just facesmash, and from what i see on the other tiers they are at least giving good fights now that most of the servers with wider than na coverage are up in the top

Last I checked
Sea of Sorrows.
-Some of the rudest, meanest, most hilarious Australian players in the game. (not all of em are, not by a longshot. But we have a lot)
-Tears, delicious tears.
-Those who speak on behalf of an entire server population and get us in trouble on many a forum. (People like myself, haha, but i’m not a D-bag….)
you left out our nefarious night-capping
You left out the Halloween debacle.
Though I seem to recall SoR’s and IoJ’s doors fighting back that week, strange. :P
I wish you all the best of luck in Tier 1 SoS but you’re not going to get any respect at all from SBI or JQ if you win.
That honestly just made me laugh, IoJ was oceanic, and Rall had plenty of skilled players on during our prime. (though they may have just been REALLY tired NA players). As for respect, both SBI and JQ have night crews and good ones at that. In all likelihood we will lose due to a lack of EU but who cares, T2 gives us great fights, (those pesky doors) and T1 will as well.
The biggest problem of all will now be siege wars 2 again. Attacking a keep with 60+ enemy with 8-10 ac. 3 catas behind door/cannons. You may as well of just removed rams from game. Its time to stop catas behind door and give AC some cooldown or ammo. Or need line of sight to use. or even siege only hits 5 targets.
well for one if they have 60+ defenders inside a keep then yes it’s gonna be a kitten to take. cos there’s a kitten of defenders, but with the exception of hills lord room, you can just treb their cata’s and arrow carts and all their walls gates etc into dust, it will take ages but you will force them to either leave the keep to get to the trebs, or sit there untill all their kitten is gone.
2 things i would change about mesmer portals in wvw.
change the colour to match the team, so i can tell if the kitten purple circle next to me is our teams or not.
and make it actually have a cast time, preferably similiar to meteor storms.
after that im good with it.
I think that applies to everyone involved in the match. Thing is, aside from pride, you get nothing for winning, and aside from a bruised ego, you’re not penalized for losing. If the event distracts us as a server to the point that we get steamrolled, there’s always next week.
Well, SBI and JQ have been in t1 for awhile so not quite the same for them.
As for what you get from the match I could care less that we dont get a reward beyond pride, pride is enough for me, assuming that the fight to get there was enjoyable. and i dont doubt that SBI and JQ will provide more than enough opportunites for enjoyable fights
T2 has shown itself to be more than enough fun, so t2 or t1 im happy, but i still want to win

Is anyone else on SoS kinda worried about our push into tier 1 most likely coming right alongside a semi major PVE update, based around the crucial time of the weekend.
I mean the halloween one nearly cost SoS the match :P
anyways awesome fights so far IoJ and SoR, have never come in to WvW and not got an awesome fight from both of you. has been a pleasure.
1. 5 for most, some ignore it, most of those are buff aoe’s and some damage ones(can’t give examples don’t know the names)
2. none.
3. no idea.
considering that the biggest advantage of those particular jump puzzles in WvW is more equipment for WvW (siege, badges) most people who do participate in the fighting do those puzzles.
If that’s your only reason for it, against the fact that it brutalizes the ranking system creating weeks of unfair, boring and utterly pointless matches, destroys any kind of server community building except from a select few, when the majority can just leave at will as soon as they have a bad week, and allows people to switch mid-week and ruin close matches between other servers, then i would gladly disagree with you.
The sum total damage though is the same in the situation that 10 people grouped get hit by 2 aoes when compared to two groups of 5 people getting hit by 2 aoe’s in seperate locations, there is no mathematical decrease in damage. their are some advantages such as sanctuary and wall of warding but there are disadvantages particularly from siege and again from wall of warding which could trap groups such as these. also when you stack its very hard to use combo fields effectively.
mathematically total damage is not changed true, but total effectiveness of the group is changed dramatically, if the aoe damage for instance was sufficient to down 8 people, but instead downed 4 due to it hitting the same targets you are left with a major difference in combat strength of the group. same reason people focus fire, its more efficient to put 30k damage into one player and kill them then 10k into 3 and leave them fighting(though less so in this game with reviving :P )
anyways if thats not how it works then it’s not an issue,
The ensuing argument your anger is trying to create would be a gargantuan waste of time, and I wanted to make sure you know that I’m not biting.
Ah one so often confuses anger for sarcasm, bit of pity maybe.
My point was about the logic of a tactic that involves running into aoe to prevent it from damaging you, and logically it makes no sense from either a realism point of view or a gameplay one, although if you have a point why standing in aoe should prevent it from hitting you as long as others stand next to you, by all means share with us. (aside from them all throwing themselves over my player in selfless sacrifice i can think of none)
@thorvald…. uh you seem to be under the impression that my post is talking about the way it IS, when it is in fact talking about the way i think it SHOULD BE. do let me know if thats not what you were thinking.
Please leave “real life” out of discussions about balance in a fantastical video game. There should also be collision detection, siege weapons should take hours to build by a large number of people, everything should do a whole lot more damage, your character should only have one life, etc. etc. etc.
as for that little tidbit, the term real life was more in a reference to a thing called physics which is kind of integral to video games(and real life incidentally), you should check it out
Math is the same assuming aoe all targets someone not already targeted by aoe, which im not sure it does (could be wrong)
e.g 5 people on EB are hit by a rangers barrage, and 5 people in a BL a hit by a seperate rangers barrage, 10 people get hit However if 10 people get hit by 2 rangers barrages in EB it could work out like 6 people get hit once 2 people get hit twice and 2 people dont get hit at all. depends how the aoe behaves in regards to other friendly aoe and their mutual targets. Im not sure how that part works.
I’d love to see a Hall of Heroes or something, no items or anything as currently its a bit unbalanced but things like a WAR had for its renown earners only more interesting like:
Most revives, most kills, most gold spent on upgrades, most supply used, most siege placed, most repairs, most siege damage etc etc etc, would be awesome.
Actually i’d go further than that, I’d have a small weekly statue for most whatevers this week for your server, and then a permanent all time one with most whatevers ever on that server, and then have anyone who transfers off immediately removed from any such claim they may have
Unfortunately you are wrong. They is a delay to capping point which is bigger than stealth time.
One of my guildmate already done on Stonemist castle and blocked capture for about 15-20 minutes. Those case should not happen at all. No single person should be able to block a capture for that long.
I’ll assume you’re talking to me as you failed to provide any kind of reference to what or who was “wrong”, you will however need to elaborate, if he was using stealth to prevent the cap then my method would of still allowed him to delay but to no where near that long, unless the people capping were in no way looking for him.
It doesnt take long to cap an uncontested point, if the timer for the cap began immediately upon the only enemy remaining entering stealth then he could(assuming he remained in stealth for its duration to avoid the revealed debuff) only delay if for a short while.
as an example lets say it takes 30 seconds to cap an uncontested point(i have no idea how long it actually takes so this will do) assuming the thief is a stealth build every time he cloaks and daggers the timer will continue on for 3-4 seconds(not sure if C&D is effected by the extra second of stealth but whatever) leaving him at most most 10 uses of cloak and daggers stealth before it caps anyway, depending on how long he can stay visible before recloaking(lets be generous and say 12 seconds), he can only prevent it for 2 minutes, with this method unless the people capping dont in any way look for him he MUST use stealth to remain alive, and therefore the capping will continue, albeit slower than uncontested but not stopped indefinitely.
“I would state that those “unorganised groups” that are grouping up together tightly are in a means organised because they are adopting a tactic built into the game mechanics. they are certainly more organised than the other unorganised groups not doing it and that even includes guilds with voice comms that are not considering the in game mechanics whilst forming up in WvW.”
yeah see thats where i disagree zerg mentality of do what everyone else is doing, i.e stacking, doesnt count as organisation for me, to me organisation is something like popping a smoke screen for warriors to leap through to stealth and then get up to the crew members of ballistas blocking a chokepoint and hundred blade them. or something along those lines.
i just have an issue with the ability for any group to gain a significant advantage over a particular aspect of the enemy(aoe) with minimal effort(scream stack) in an illogical manner(stand in aoe=good?)
Anyways ive pretty much exhausted my thoughts on this topic, and im probably running the risk of ranting so yeah :P
Ah leave PW alone, they can go do what they want even if it is only sometimes helpful to the rest of us :P
Was a bit sad with IOJ this week though, after following their matchup in T1 last week was hoping for a tad more of a showing,
Ah well, rematch against Rall next week, that ought to be good , hopefully IoJ can create a showing for that one and make it even more interesting.
@kyus, it is true from a logic point of view, If a drop a giant boulder on 10 people standing under it in real life all 10 get hit by it, 5 dont magically not get hurt because the boulder has a cap. Yet if i stand 10 people under one ranger barrage 5 don’t get hit, even though they are standing in it and are physically no more protected than the 5 that do get hit. It does not make sense, at all.
you claim it is the organisational skills of whoever that makes the tactic valuable, whilst i will agree that an organised group will be MORE effective doing it, an unorganised group can still fair remarkably better in this formation that one not in it against aoe.
As i stated already i dont particualarly care if people do it, myself and my guild dont have issues breaking these things, i just think its stupid that it works as a method for mitigating aoe damage.
Its not unstoppable and it can be countered easily enough with some organisation, the point is it doesnt make sense, 1 thief popping out of stealth to occasionally tap someone to go back into stealth is NOT contesting a point.
I dont see why its so hard to make people who are invisible, not prevent point capping, they will still delay it a bit, because everytime they come out of stealth it will stop again, but it wont be as ridiculous it will stop the absurd idea of one person who isnt really attacking from “contesting” the capture of a camp.
And I’m a thief. i respecced just to try this and its ridiculously easy especially with the culling thing. there is nearly always a random that tags along with organised groups and you can basically just pick on them to keep it up.
The only issue i have with turtling is the fact that standing IN aoe protects people from it, it just flat out doesn’t make sense, “oh no a barrage of arrows quick everyone stand where they are hitting” :P
that said, personally i loved the lack of cap on aoe in WAR (sadly never played DAoC) it made you bloody pay attention, but let’s keep in mind two things, Personally (not saying it isnt possible) I have NEVER come across any class in GW2 that had the damage potential of bright wizards or sorcerers in WAR, and secondly WAR never had that thing called dodge we have, where you can completely avoid aoe damage(even usable for rolling through chokepoints unless they have vastly superior numbers to lay down an even larger group of aoes, in which case you have other problems), if you’re dumb enough to stand in aoe in this game you should bloody well get hurt from it, im more than happy to continue obliterating turtling as long as its in game, but from my point of view it just doesnt make sense to stand IN aoe to negate it.
@skylash might need to read that again, you seem to have who im talking about confused :P
SoS ftw
Here’s all you need to know SoS,
SoR’s oceanic, or “night time crew” are fine. We smash you constantly, we’re better man for man, and we know that like the weather, your zerg will pass with a few hours time. All we have to do is slow you down or stop you at the gates, and you waste away with time.
Everyone seemed so exited to see the SoR, SoS matchup. SoS has been pretty average as far as I’ve seen. Good numbers, I’ll give you that, but not much else. SoR is tight. Nothing for you to worry about.
Interesting, cos that superior force just rocked up to SoS borderlands caught a few towers lost them again, got pushed from bay and has now bailed back to the other bl’s, so yeah, cheers for bringing such obviously superior force that I suppose just found more fun things to do elsewhere?
anyways score update
Sanctum of Rall: 187,469 +220

Been a fun fight so far gentlemen, gonna miss the end of the matchup but hope it goes well for everyone.
The issue is not that your metagame is about 3 months outdated and that you haven’t actually done anything but PvGate for 2 months. The issue is that a lot of the NA guild leaders and WvW leaders have tried numerous times since our arrival almost two weeks ago to get in contact with and coordinate handoffs of maps to the Oceanic commanders/guild leaders/etc. Yet when we tried this, we were met by commentary mostly along the lines of “ kitten off” or “this is our show” or “you don’t run this server, we do.”
It’s pretty kitten poor that the server begged and pleaded for NA presence for 2 months just so they can get backstabbed like this upon arrival and especially after putting in more hours and effort than anyone should have to. Obviously PRX left HoD for other reasons than why most of the NA transfers left their old servers, but the majority of it was because we didn’t want to continue carrying a PvE server 12 hours a day, every day of the week while still trying to do the other things we enjoy in the game all on top of school/work/family/etc.
I’m in complete agreement with KV on this one, we upheld more than our fair share of the bargain, PRX in particular for literally full capping Eternal twice during NA prime time. But it’s time to reciprocate, especially with those boastful voices and gargantuan egos half of the Oceanic populace seems to have. You have to prove you’re the best to be able to say it and be taken seriously.
I’m in MERC and i’ve noticed this as well. MERC is a wvw guild, not a pve guild yet at 2pm pst monday we had over 90 members on and they were..in pve. only 4 or 5 of us in sos borderlands.
i’m a NA player but i’m also unemployed and have the time after my daily job search to play, and i play at all hours.
i don’t know what happened, but i’ve lost my taste for the game.
also those rude commanders? they were rude from day one and we know who they are. they are NOT from MERC i can tell you that.
Trust me MERC is not happy about that and the leaders are putting serious thought into how to restructure and redesign to prevent it from happening again.
Cirus hit the nail on the head about the way SoS reacted to the patch once we could actually get into the game again. Personally though i can see PRX’s point of view it was mildly insulting considering how much effort i know myself and others have put into WvW to try and stop Rall from running away with it. The Oceanic WvW players of SoS haven’t given up would be a shame if the NA ones did.

I’ve killed lots and lots of perma-stealth thieves. All you have to do is get a good, long-lasting condition on them when they appear.
You know thieves can remove conditions just by being in stealth right?
Anyways I think the thieves and mesmers are fine, the biggest issue that comes from both of these is the rendering, if everyone was visible when they should be mesmers would have an even harder time setting up portal bombs and thieves could be shut down even easier than currently.
These abilities actually add depth to the WvW.
I’m probably a bit wierd but i enjoyed WAR’s lack of cap on aoe(no i didnt play a bright wizard) it made people you know… GET OUT of the aoe instead of the current overly logical way of stacking INTO it to avoid damage. The stealth classes in that game were also great fun, being able to go in the back door of enemy keeps added another layer of tactics to the siege attack/defense. mesmers provide a similiar role in Gw2. Having classes with things exclusive to them is what makes games interesting.
