Thank you!
“A few minutes worth of work, and we’ll be laughing about this over drinks in Lion’s Arch.”
I feel as if I have been part of the Forgotten Vanguard for a much longer time than my previous post dated “about a month ago” as I have been made to feel like such a part of the guild in a very short time. Any time I have asked for help with anything there has always been a group keen to get involved and lend their assistance. The Forgotten Vanguard has the feeling of a proper guild and playing with them has been such a satisfying, rewarding experience for me. Anybody looking for a guild or feeling they may fancy a change of guild should absolutely apply to be part of TFV.
Prompted by the daily achievement, I made five attempts at a Clover last night and got:
4 Vicious Fangs
4 Vials of Powerful Blood
2 Vials of Powerful Blood
Putrid Essence
Putrid of Essence
Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr…
So gross! I am so sorry to hear about your Gift of Misfortune. I am up to six clovers now. I had four goes on both Monday and Tuesday night which gave me:
Mystic Clover
3 Vicious Claws
Mystic Clover
3 Elaborate Totems
4 Elaborate Totems
3 Bolts of Gossamer
Mystic Clover
4 Ancient Bones
And then on Wednesday I just tried one on a whim and got a clover back.
Congratulations! You must feel SO relieved! <3
I can’t get my head around why there would have been such a nerf to this. It would seem a little mean spirited to make this any more of a slog than it is already proving to be. But I have to admit that the whole chance factors of participating in activities in GW2 is really sucking the enjoyment out of things I once liked doing in game. I used to really enjoy gathering materials to make rare dye recipes, but after having never received one rare dye after several attempts at making one in a variety of colors, I just stopped bothering to try. Gathering herbs in Charr zones in the hopes of finding chili peppers has so graciously provided me with nearly 600 peppercorns, and while slaying centaur after centaur to satiate a killer craving for chocolate did wonders for my hoof collection, my hankering for even a small bit of chocolate was left completely unfulfilled. I don’t want to take part in activities that disappoint or waste my time. Who does really??
Sorry for high-jacking the typing stick of our support group, guys, but I had to get that off my chest!
I just made three attempts a 10 Clovers which yielded:
17 Ancient Wood Planks
21 Ancient Bones
15 Ori Ingots
I then made eight attempts at one Clover which yielded:
Mystic Clover
2 Elaborate Totems
2 Ancient Wood Planks
Cured Hardened Leather Section
4 Vials of Powerful Blood
Mystic Clover
2 Ancient Bones
3 Bolts of Gossamer
That is over one month of daily Mystic Coins for two Mystic Clovers. I feel like this entire process will lead to just farming CoF Path 1 just to get enough gold to buy more Mystic Coins and Ectoplasms. Pretty discouraging really.
I had already prepared myself well in advance for failure and bought over 600 shards on my first visit to the Temple of Balth because I seem to be under some sort of curse when it comes to falling on the right side of RNG. I am sensing a new thread: Mystic Clover Support Group.
Ugh… I have just begun making my Mystic Clovers, and am at 1/14.
I REALLY appreciate all of the Ancient Wood Planks I am getting back for my efforts. Thanks Anet. <3
STILL unable to log in. =*(
Cannot log in to EU Gandara server. =(
I recently joined Forgotten Vanguard, and I am so happy with my choice of guild. The guild members are super friendly, very skilled, and also really fun to play with. There are regular scheduled events which include dungeons, Fractals, WvW, and map completion. I highly recommend this guild to anyone on Gandara who might be looking for a guild to join.
Hi Guys,
Apologies for what may be considered an off topic post, but I am looking for a dungeon running guild on Gandara EU running dungeons with a minimum of skipped content:
https://forum-en.gw2archive.eu/forum/guilds/guilds/Seeking-PvE-Guild-on-Gandara-EU/first#post1271638
I did have a look through the guild section, but I could not find any posts regarding what I was after so I thought to have a go here.
Again, I do apologize this is slightly off topic, but would appreciate any response and hope the Anet gods do not punish me too much! Thanks in advance.

Hi Everybody,
I am currently looking for a PvE based guild on the Gandara EU Server primarily for dungeon runs and Fractal progression. I would like to find a guild that completes dungeons with a very minimum of skipped mobs. I find the whole idea of running through a dungeon skipping all of the mobs a bit dissatisfying to my personal playstyle so would like to find a guild of like-minded players who enjoy clearing the content.
I have two active characters: Delyssia, a Mesmer and Crooklyn Redwaters, an Engineer both of whom are level 80 and fully geared in exotic equipment.
Hopefully there are some similar minded guilds on Gandara looking for a new addition to their roster. I hope to hear from you!

Thanks for the feedback, guys. <3
Think about this logically. Why would you get banned for doing something you are perfectly allowed to do? If we weren’t allowed to craft rares to salvage for ectos, then those rares wouldn’t be able to give ectoplasms in the first place.
That is what I thought as well. To me it sounds like a perfectly reasonable way to gather ectoplasm, but she did reference what took place with the snowflakes recently so I thought I would seek some greater wisdom on the forums.
Hi Everybody,
I am hoping someone can clarify something for me. I was talking to a friend about crafting rare items to salvage for ectoplasm, but she told me that people have been banned for this. Is this the case?? Thanks.

It feels like there is a general resentment / unwillingness to take part due to drops in dungeons and rewards from chests. Personally I would like to see blue items from chests opened in dungeons replaced with tier six materials. Perhaps trash mobs in dungeons could drop various fragments, shards, cores used to produce the various lodestones. Everyone wants to feel that the time and effort put into it was worthwhile.
I think Alucard has presented some really intelligent, sensible suggestions as to what could be done to improve everybody’s dungeon experiences. I think everyone has their own preferred way of running a dungeon. I personally despair whenever I am in a group, and someone starts yelling “skip skip skip”. When I join a dungeon group I go because I fancy that sort of experience and everything that comes along with it. Sure, sometimes I go to farm tokens too, but my general mentality about it remains the same. I do feel though that the usual reasoning behind wanting to skip mobs, which usually comes down to very little rewards for doing so. Not that I believe every mob in a dungeon should drop something spectacular, but I do feel an improvement to the drops is needed (this opinion being made in the backdrop to also working towards my legendary which obviously involves a massive amount of material gathering).
But also remember that Guild Wars 2 is still rather new, and it will take a bit of time and feedback to attain the proper balance.
I have had a similar problem this past week with my computer suddenly shutting down after being in-game for a couple of minutes and then it struggles to restart.
After speaking with someone from technical support, they found that the problem was an issue with my graphics card, which is also from Nvidia (555 I believe?), which was forcing the computer to shut down. They have me running two monitoring programs while I am using the computer, TechPowerUp GPU-Z and Real Temp GT. I am expecting a further phone call from them today or tomorrow to discuss the best way to proceed.
I was wondering the same actually because I added a Superior Sigil of Corruption to my pistol, but have not seen Condition Damage stacking with use of i-Duellist.
Marvellous work! What a great resource! <3
That is totally true. I am usually on the move quite a bit during fights, and, as Cotillion mentions above, I find this to be a really rewarding playstyle.
Yesterday I was trying to synergize this with a staff, but I find the staff to be really slow for my taste, and I found the cooldowns a bit long. I almost always have Null Field and / or Feedback as utility skills because as, etiolate says, they do also give Chaos Armor (and I swear I have seen a few other buffs from them perhaps?) as well as the functionality detailed in their description. But I do bring almost every usable weapon with me anyway and often change weapons and skills for different encounters.
For the time being, I think I will leave my build as it is and rely more on fancy footwork than moving trait points into Chaos. But I am about to have a set of exotic armor crafted, and I was thinking to have it built around Power / Precision / Condition Damage. If anyone is using any other gear sets that they are feel are more beneficial, can you please share your wisdom with me?? =)
Hello.
I came across this thread, and I am hoping some of you might be able to offer some feedback as I am thinking to tweak my Build a bit.
I am currently using the following because I really like using my Phantasms:
15 / 20 / 0 / 25/ 10
Domination 15
- Empowered Illusions: Illusions inflict 15% more damage
Dueling 20
- Blade Training
- Duelist’s Discipline
Inspiration 25
- Persisting Images
- Warden’s feedback (if I am using Focus) or Mender’s Purity
Illusions 10
- Compounding Power
My favorite weapon combination is Sword / Pistol. I do sometimes use Sword / Focus with Sceptre / Pistol, or I will bring in the Greatsword for fights that require me to attack from range.
Ideally I would like to push my build to allow for more melee. I was considering using Sword / Pistol with Sword / Focus, but realize that I will need to take range weapons with me as melee is not always appropriate (TA Exp blossoms flashback). I was also thinking about interfacing the Sword / Pistol with Staff.
I would also like to continue to include Phantasms as well. I was reading Agent Noun’s post above, and I wondered if it might be useful to somehow work 15 points into Chaos somehow. Does anyone have any suggestions where might be best to make a reduction in another branch to accommodate this.
Also I will soon be upgrading my gear, and I wondered if anyone had any recommendations on gear selection to accommodate a more melee focused playstyle??
Thanks for any feedback you can offer.
