You see the word kitten and have stopped trying to decipher it. You now accept ‘kitten’ as a legitimate swear word.
And you’ve been playing GW2 waaaaaay too much when:
You think kitten should be bleeped out if someone says it in chat, because it’s offensive.
Thanks Carpboy – honestly didn’t know that would do damage and wasn’t attempting to troll
In WVW today, a warrior hit my warrior for 2,036 damage and the combat log showed he hit me with ‘Level Up’.
Either leveling up your character hurts a lot, or I’m missing something here. I can’t find a warrior skill called Level Up. Anyone seen this before, and can they explain it??
Hi – I noticed it happens when I attempt to pick up a bundle (banner) and cancel the action by moving slightly or something. The game seems to bug out.
I have found that getting knocked down fixes it too, which is weird. Next time it happens I’m going to try doing a jump that’s far enough to cause me to fall on my face and see if that stops it. Just FYI in case this helps anyone in the meantime..
Thanks for the tips – you mentioned some things I had not considered.
I run a condition build, S/S, Longbow and have found it very difficult to battle a necro spec’d with wells, and might stacking.
It seems their biggest weakness would be pressure of consistent direct damage (which I can’t do on my build) and to avoid the wells. I don’t have any KBs to knock them away, but typically this kind of necro just drops a bunch of GTAEs and sits in them.
Any recommendations for dealing with them? I think berserker power would help keep the conditions off for a short while but it won’t turn the fight. The only time I’ve been successful is by getting full adrenaline, and then get them to chase me outside of their wells. It seems pointless to fight them on their turf.
and why should you get spoils when you lose?
I’m not asking for additional loot that we don’t already get. You realize even if you lose a defense event, you still get karma/xp/money? We’re not debating if you should get something whether you win or lose, it’s about managing what you already getting.
When you’re in zerg fight, it’s almost impossible to see where all the loot bags dropped, even if you hold down ctrl to see them. They’re scattered everywhere, so it’s not simply clicking ‘f’ whenever you have a second.
If you win the fight, sure it’s easy to handle this after the fight. If you lose, then all that loot is lost unless you made an effort to focus on looting.
Looting in general is easy, but it’s not as easy as you make it sound while dealing with a zerg fight in WvW.
I am tired of participating in WvW fights, only to either:
a) forget to loot everything before I died.
b) stop fighting to make sure I got all my loot.
I understand forcing everything to automatically go to my inventory could be a problem, especially if I run out of room.
What about a WvW ‘spoils of war’ tab/bag/pouch, whatever. Let it fill up with stuff automatically. When there’s downtime, we can see what we’ve obtained from our efforts out in the field.
The tab should only be accessible while in WvW zones, and shouldn’t allow you to put things into it, only take from it.
I don’t have a problem with making an event harder, but making any suggestions for ‘loss of character control’ is a flawed idea, period.
I think it would be encouraging and helpful to keep end game fresh and exciting if there were a panel somewhere to see what’s available to do at level 80.
The panel could give suggestions on what to do for a level 80 character and mix it up over time. Depending on the day it could suggest things like:
- Working on a Legendary (with tips on what’s needed, and what you have already)
- Daily and Monthly
- People LFG for dungeons/fractals (would require a LFG feature in GW2)
- Major world events going on right now! (jormag, melandru, etc.)
- Living Story
- WvW
- Achievements you’re close to finishing (already exists, but have it accessible here)
I’m sure there’s more but the idea is to have a landing page of ‘things to do’.
Hi,
My account was hacked last week, and I was very happy with the initial support provided by ANet. I supplied all important info, reformatted my comp, changed all my email passwords, and installed better security. ANet returned the account to me.
Of course, my immediate question was about getting my ‘lost’ stuff returned. On 12/21 the response from Hector on case 121220-002277 was basically ‘No’.
I decided to accept this fate, but did go on to plead for 1 of my 2 ‘Gifts of Explorations’ back, I have not received a reply.
Now today, I see the FAQ posted by Gaile that if an account was compromised since Dec 1,2012, it CAN be rolled back – this was not offered to me, so now I’m confused, and a little concerned.
I don’t want to be rolled back now – I’ve spent a significant time re-acquiring things and have some nice stuff since the return of my account. Seeing that support did NOT give me the option to roll back on the support request, is it possible to get this one item returned to me? I’m not asking for both, I just want ONE gift of exploration back. Having to get 100% world exploration all over again just gives me this sinking feeling. I enjoyed the journey but have no desire to do that all over again anytime soon.
If rollback is my only option, I may have to just suck it up and take it…but would really like to hear a response on what can be done, if anything since support says no, but the forum post says ‘yes’.
Thanks for your consideration..
I really like the fact that GW2 resurrected the idea of 3-sided WvWvW which is very similar to DAOC’s frontiers.
I would love to see GW2 also adopt the idea of low level Battlegrounds which is what DAOC did as well. These were unique zones (not instances) for 3-sided battles, with 1 central keep, and some strategic towers or other control points for each side to hold onto or retreat to for safety. The zones were small, but offered the ability for you to get accustomed to WvW without having to battle against lvl 80’s in great gear, great skills, and fully spec’d in traits.
The battlegrounds were capped for certain level ranges, so it could not serve as a replacement for the main WvWvW.
I think that the addition would help new players, or existing players wanting to try a new class, get accustomed to what the end game will be like, and give some additional perks to the game aside from the current methods of leveling.
As I worked my way to 80, I was excited to try WvWvW but quickly got discouraged due to the clear difference in fighting a real lvl 80 versus someone who was scaled for the zone.
If you’re afraid that this idea would detract from the ‘bodies’ inside the WvWvW zone, simply cap the low level battlegrounds to 1-40 or something.
