I played both guardian and mesmer for more then 2k hours each so here is a little tip i see many guards fail on when fighting mesmer.

Dont be afraid to use your renewed focus elite!

When a mesmer immobilised you 90% of the time they will try a shatter burst on you so counter this with Renewed focus or shelter or if your pro dodge it.

So many times ive had 1v1 with guardians on my mesmer and they were dead before they even used their renewed focus its just a waste to not use it.
Yes it has a pretty long cd compared to the rest of your skills but its better to survive that burst then to be a dead guardian lol.

Build looks pretty sweet i only dont understand why you take the signet heal instead of shelter? IMO the 1 condi cleansed in 10s isnt worth it over the block you get from shelter and blocking gives you might also from Might of the protector.

I like to run 0/0/6/4/4 for medi build with absolute resolution for condi cleanse and you got contemplation and smite condi wich gives you ALOT of cleanses.

youll also get alot more boons with 4 in virtues from activating virtues and IMO that 300vit isnt worth it if you know how to use your active defense skills.

Also if you ditch SiN and take the trait that gives fury on meditations youll hit the 50% mark i think and dont need the extra precision from traits.

Build looks pretty solid though, i love that you still keep making new builds!

4 in virtues and take absolute resolution.
This trait will aoe cleanse 3 condi’s and make your virtue of resolve passive stronger, its a trait i cant live without anymore.
And when its on cd you can pop renewed focus and use it again.
Purity trait will cleanse 1 condi every 10s wich is also pretty nice.

I also use contemplation of purity combined with save yourself, so the basic idea is to use SyS to pull condi from your mates and then contemplation of purity to convert all those condi into boons.

This is for Tpvp and i also use this setup for roaming.

I tried phantasm builds but the playstyle is way to passive for me.
Im a really agressive mesmer and thats why i think shatter fits my playstyle best.

Glad this matchup is almost over.. Most boring week ever.
Ive only met 1 guy while roaming who put up a good fight, the rest where dead before they even knew what hit them.
Then they come back with 2 more ppl only to get there kitten handed to them in a 1v3 lolol.

Zerg more it makes you really good at pvp!!

Hope we get to meet Gandara again next week atleast they got some good roamers running around.

I’m getting the same problem.
I just finished map explorer and got the title and achievement but no chest , so i decided to relog. Now when i select a char and click play nothing happens after 30 secounds i get dc and same error :/

I also just got my 3k achiev chest and didnt see it so i logged another character to see if it showed up.
Sounds like theres something fishy going on with the reward chest system..

Got the same issue here..
Got home from work, played a couple of hours, went for dinner and when i got back i wp to another city and my game crashed saying it lost connection to the client.
Now everytime i try to log in it says it lost connection to the client or sometimes i get to the charactet screen and press play and it crashes again because it lost connection to the client….

Funny thing is that my daughters account who plays on another server works just fine.

Edit: after talking to my guildies on our forums it seems like alot of them are suffering from the same issues and it started when they went for the pve dragon Teq kill.

Since my original post is already deleted by a forum moderator i only want to add that it is purely MY opinion and doesnt represent ANY of my guildmembers opinions since i cant see in there heads and know what they are thinking.

What a shameful post from a commander we fought alongside for months. Interestingly, your guild leader thinks the exact opposite of what you just posted. Oh well, why did I even come to the forums.

Before DVG we had a really nice pug community going and since DVG got created it all went down the drain…

Hi, I want to know how guardians fare in WvW as damage dealers, in both small and big encounters. I heard they lack range and as such they can only support, and if you go in the front as a melee you die first. Can I get some insight on what guardians do on WvW?

Im a WvW commander guardian and i can ensure you that guardians DONT die first in the frontlines. If played right you have so much survivability that im usualy one of the last to die on a wipe or even manage to get away alive if things go wrong. This is from a zerg fight point of view btw.

For small fights you act as the frontline also but you need to change it up a bit and be aware that you dont over extend to much away from your buddies. Make sure to stack retalliation everytime you can with the GS #4 and leap finisher with GS #3.
In smaller fights about 30-40% of my total damage comes from retalliation(maybe even more).

Gear is also important. Dont expect to run in a zerg fight with your berserker gear or you will melt in seconds. Its all about staying alive and outlasting your enemy.
For example, i had a 1v1 with a really good elementalist a couple of days ago and your avarage guardian is a easy prey for a good ele.
But because i know my class so good and know what to dodge and kept stacking retalliation i dragged the fight on for almost 10 minutes and eventually the ele won.
It was a real close fight for both of us and i got the /bow afterwards from him/her so i knew he thought it was an epic 1v1 also.

I took command on AR bl a bit last night and i must say i had a great time doing it!
Loved the fights we had with AR at longview even though we could never win it. I really like how you guys split up your zerg and try flanking and such.
Later when we where trebbing AR garri from Cliffside and you guys made a counter treb in Astralholme was also fun. We had to come fight you in the camp. And even though it felt like you outnumbered us quite a bit there my brave desolation fighters managed to wipe you all!
Oh and the fight for hills was awesome also! First we managed to wipe Vizunah when they breached north inner hills gate. Then AR pushed in through the open outer gate and we managed to kill you all. When i ran for supply to repair the gate we ran into the Viz zerg again at bluelake and stupidly enough they tried to fight an uphill battle in a nice choke point.

From the first day i started GW2 i knew i wanted to focus on WvW so i chose guardian.
Guardian makes for an awesome commander class. I stay alive really long, can absorb lots of damage and have acces to different cc and group buffs.
I tried playing alts in WvW or any other aspects of the game but i just cant lvl more than like lvl 10 and delete them to go play guard again.

Some amazing fights for Astralholme camp on AR border last night!
Specialy the 10v10 with AR at around midnight GMT+2, you guys deserved the /bow!

Oh and to DurX guild, im glad you guys use condoms xD.

To the Viz ele from GHO who i had a nice 1v1 with east of godslore camp in deso bl last night: GG and great sportsmanship!

I main a guardian and played it almost exclusivly since i started this game. I play WvW 99% of my game time and i just love to be a guardian.
For group play i roll with hammer/staff or GS/staff and it brings some amazing utility for group play.
Two days ago i was at a tower alone and a zerg was about to break the door. My back up was coming but they couldnt arive in time. I held the gate single handed for a couple of minutes with rings of warding/line of warding/sanctuary until my backup could arive and take care of the zerg. Ofcourse a couple of people with stability got inside but they where only a few and took to long to kill the lord.

Also for roaming a guardian is awesome. I run a 0/15/30/20/5 build and GS/Sword,focus for roaming with judge intervention and i got great mobility with all those teleports and can do some decent burst with the 15 points in radiance and my weapon set combo.
If i run into a zerg i can use all my teleports to blink to ambiant creatures and mobs in the distance to get away fast.
Ofcourse when i run into a good mesmer or thief im in trouble but that only happened a couple of times now.

UPDATE:

So i deleted the local.DAT file yesterday, had to download like 15gig again and i logged in today to find that my guild tab, party UI and the other stuff are still bugged.

Removing the file didnt help me anything…. gonna try cleaning my hard disk later today.

Im having the same issues as you guys mentioned.
Guild tab not showing people online.
Guildies locations are unknown.
Party ui bug.
Getting kicked from party from time to time while my guildies dont kick me.
Friend list showing people offline.

And i even got issues with commander tags from guildies not showing up since they have an unknown location.

All of this started when the update for MF came in.

I did some google work and found some posts saying to delete the .DAT file from your g2 folder on hard disc. So i just deleted it and now the game is downloading the files again.
Will keep you all informed if it worked or not.

Im using antique gold/ denim blue/ ebony and it looks pretty sweet. Using the denim for the guardian blue theme lol.
Only started playing 2 weeks ago so i dont have much other nice dyes.
