Here/s a few tips for running an efficient “speed, fast” run for dungeons and fractals. I’ll start with the dungeons. the general rule here is to know how to stack. If you don’t know where the spot is say something before hand or just follow where most of the people are running to. The reason you stack is so the boss is 1. not running all over the place and the melee is chasing after him, 2. so the group can get as many blasts and fields off as possible for might buffs and the fields will in turn melt the boss to. Even if you’re running a range weapon you should stack to. Stacking will help you be able to dodge more, trust me in the long run it’ll help you more. Also try to dodge into the wall so they boss will stay there. The main boss for COE an attack that freezes in a cube, so if you dodge away from him he could freeze you and now you group would either run out to get you out or not notice you at all and in both cases is not the most efficient fast, speed clearing.

In Fractals it’s a different story, Mossman and Shaman is not stackable. Starting from F38 up most of the bosses at that level is not stackable unless you’ve got a super tank Guard or more. That being said, there’s are strategies that can make the fights easier.

Mossman

You’ve got to be able to kite and dodge, if your group has good timing you can run in for semi stack/might buffs/leaps finishers. Finally if you’re downed try to find one of his wolves to rally on, the regular ones are really easy to down. Oh most of the time you should be trying to rally if it’s a zerky group then you’ll melt the trash mobs faster than you would have to stop dps and res.

Cliffside

The first fight you should stay less than 500 range of him and kite him and again if you can get in for a quick stack then do it other wise just kite him in a circle. If you do right meaning the person with the agro runs into melee range he’ll go into his stun where the aoe circles spawn. If he’s kited correctly he’ll pretty much spend the whole fight like that. At that -500 range he won’t do his hammer jump and knock you upside the head. He will however do an aoe bolt attack, so be ready to dodge it. The next time you fight him, there are 2 phases, the first phase is the same. The second phase comes when he is at 50% health, when this happens every 10 seconds or so he’ll do a flash that is aoe damage at about 600 range. He’ll raise his hand and then put up a reflect buff that lasts about 5 seconds. If you’re low in health don’t let the flash hit you, also if you’re ranging him then make sure you don’t shoot yourself.

Mai Trin

Pretty much the same strategy as phase one of Cliffside boss. If you have a Guard and he’s good at maintaining agro and keeping aegis heals etc.. up then you can stack. The Guard can also be the blink fodder cause his aegis will block the shot. If your kites her then make sure you stay in -500 range, if you see her raise her left arm the pistol arm and points at you. You can run really quick and stop her from porting but she will do an aoe attack like the Cliffside boss.

If your group can kite and maintain the -500 range then you’ll be able to make those fights more efficient cause you won’t have to go chasing the bosses to the other side of the map and probably won’t have to res the downed as much haha.

And please stop with the healing crap on guardian, it was never meant to be a healer. If you really want gruesome healing go specc a warrior in clerics with banner regen or shout heal and then delete your guardian. Or an ele for that matter…[/quote]

Well for LB the Tomes to me would actually jive better with LB play. Drop your traps stand back pop into the Tome and you’re still ranging, especially the dps one. Also for the healing one you pretty much want to be somewhat at range, don’t remember the radius on the heal but yeah you don’t want to be in the middle of the circle.

The shout would work too it would synergize with the other shouts and the Signet also. Hey it’s a Guard, Dragon Hunter, how bout a Gonther? Haha, you can go 5 different ways with Guards and you won’t go wrong.

When someone pop lich form just run behind a wall and wait until it drops off = win. No class can 1v1 necro (skilled) with lich form in direct combat.

You can beat it if he’s unskilled…dodge blocks blinds.

The Elite Spec. would be called Nano Agents, yes as the name implies, they would specialize in Nano Tech.

Personally I think Engineers have too many range option already. They lack a pure melee kit or weapons, yes I know that Power Wrench, Flame and Bomb kits are considered the Engineers’ melee options. With that being said, I think that Engineers should get Scepters as the new weapon / elite specialization.

Traits – Keep in mind this is a purely Melee specialization but does not make the Engineer into an agile acrobatic type as the Thief currently is. It would transform the Engineer into a type of Cyborg / Melee Warrior.

-Minors
-25 or 33% increased movement speed
-Some kind of Defiance mechanic
-10% increase damage with Nano attacks

-Adept traits, going with the 3 different trees you get to choose from and also the further choice of choosing 1 out of 3 different traits in the Adept, Master and Grand Master Trinity lol. You can choose to go either Electrical (support / cc), Fire, let’s call it Atomic sounds more Nana haha (burst / since Engineers don’t have enough fields already, Fire Field), and Microbes (sustain / regeneration). Trait choices are broken down top to bottom as Electrical, Atomic and Microbes.

-x% on critical hit conducts a lightning hit similar to the Elementals Electrical Discharge but being a purely melee specialization the lightning is conducted from ground. So is not considered a range attack and won’t be reflected but still can be retaliated. It can also hit in a radius 180 degrees two more targets or being a support Nano, it can apply swiftness to you and 2 others. I let the developers decide on that.

-25-30% on critical hit detonate the Nano Bots causing exploding damage and burns.

-100% chance on critical hit with Nano Bite apply poison.

-Master

-x% chance on hit apply 0.5-1 sec. Stun and x sec. Cripple.

-100% on critical hit with Spark Hit create a fire field or smoke cloud.

-100% on critical hit with Spark Hit does 2% heal to you and 2 of your teammates in a 180 degree radius.

-Grandmaster

-50% chance on hit increases either the #1 auto attack chain only or all of the scepter weapon skills (I’ll let the percentage and numbers expert figure that out) by 0.75 sec. and reduces skill recharge by 0.25 sec per hit. Again I don’t know the exact mechanics and numbers on this, just my opinion.

-Radiate – x% on hit does 2x damage and applies 5 stacks of burn.

-x% chance on hit cause 1.5x damage, applies chill and applies 10 to 15 stacks of bleeds.

5 weapon bar skills where the Scepters / Cow Prods / Shock Sticks / Bomb Stick / Fire Crackers you get the idea.

-#1 Charge Hit, as it says, landing a hit would give you scepter a charge.

Spark Hit, would essentially “start up” your scepter as if it was a blow torch and inject your Nano Bots into the target.

Nano Bite, would discharge the bots that was injected by Spark Hit and depending on what types of Nanos you’ve trait into.

Well this is what I’ve come up with so far. The Scepter can be a ranged weapon if it is chosen for the Warrior, seeing that the Warrior currently only has two Ranged weapons. One of which, the LB is a bit slow for my play style, just my opinion. Feel free to add to this post if you like, keep it positive please. Thank You.

OK… well then replace the scepter with a pistol and give it to the Warrior as a Main hand and call them Commandos with a set of medium range bombs.

Those Nano traits and the #1 auto attacks can still work, actually would probably be great for the hammer play, especially if it is going to be a melee weapon.

I’d like to go with a Berserker (as stated by Oscuro.9720) type name for the elite specialization, with a dagger OH.

Cut’em Down

The #4 skill could be a dash like the shield bash but instead of a stun make it an Achilles tendon hit and if it lands the target is knocked down you then have the an additional follow up hit you can do similar to a backstab but the knocked down has to land. If it misses then you generate 1.5x more adrenaline or as Oscuro.9720 stated rage, in which case would be refunded and generated more rage since you are zerking and would get more agitated lol.
The 2nd part of the #4 skill would be called Put’em Down. Damage scales with the level of rage you entered/enraged in/at. Also to add an additional level of skill to the mix if you are quick enough to be completely 180% behind the target and the target is still in a knocked down state then being a pretty or in the zerkers’ case unpleasantly state “zerky” smoke puffing dude would hit for 3x the base damage. Yes you would literally be out stabbing the BS, yes in both sense of the abbreviation, dirty Thieves (finally our forum might not be filled with so many one hit wonders +_-).

Try Not to Move
#5 It’s a dagger, hey you got to be able to throw it, how far I’ll let the developers figure that out. Again to add more variety or skill play into the mix, if you hit the target from the front it causes 3 stacks of bleed, however if you’re able to close the distance while the bleeds are still ticking you can activate an additional 12 stacks of bleeds and refresh the original 3 stacks for a total of 15 stacks. I’m no expert on the mechanics of conditions and how much damage / duration they tick for, I’m not even an expert on Warriors, just not an expert… but I do play this game a lot lol. Finally if you are in pursuit mode you can throw the dagger hilt first to daze the target and do a bit of blunt damage. Daze time would be determined by range, ranging from 0-600, 600-900 and 900-1200 at 1, 1.5, and 2.25 to 2.5 seconds respectively. The duration increases, again in keeping with the Berserker / rage theme. But, also as a team / skill play mechanic if the target was say (first classes that come to mind) LB Rangers or staff Elementals standing on ledges harassing your teammates on the point. You can give a little early warning that the zerker is coming and also create a little relief for your teammates. Think of it as a Headshot with utility, Thief joke =)

As Lordhelmos.7623 suggests in his post “Warrior Elite Specialization Idea: Archon” a F2 button for Warrior elite specialization. I would like to elaborate further on both F1 and F2 buttons. F1 would activate a burst skill on the main hand weapon and F2 would activate the off hand weapons’ burst skill. Since you’ve gone smoking “zerky” as Oscuro.9720 stated in his post “Elite Specialization Theory: The Berserker” you can enjoy all the benefits of the percentage level that you rage on or became “Enraged” at 25, 50, 75, and 100% but still be able if you choose to activate your burst skills. If you activate it at 100-75, 75-50 or 50% or lower it’ll be equivalent to a level 3, 2 or 1 burst.

The Dagger OH burst would a ranged cc move similar to Mesmers’ OH Pistol #5, but it would pierce and knock down the first target, pierce and stun the second, stun and blind the third. Finally, it would also apply 15 stacks of bleed to the first target, 5 stacks of bleed and 5 seconds of poison to both the second and third targets.

Looks and sounds good on paper to me lol, but programming and implementing it is another story. If you’ve got anything positive to add feel free.

Best classes for roaming are thief/mesmer/warrior/ele/engie. All of them can engage and disengage from fight. Necros can’t catch anyone or run out if they need too.

Consider yourself lucky you haven’t gotten one of my giant wurm sprung up your kitten and exploded and then me sprouted from the wurm’s poison cloud right as I finish summoning 2 ugly kitten deformed ( I don’t even know what F they) things and explode them right under your kitten POP POP nothing but greens. Guess I won’t chasing you after all since my wabbits already caught you.

In zerg warfare, a condi necro is worthless. There’s just too much condi removal going on. A zerker necro can pop lich often, so there is that…

But zerker necros are only effective against people that have never dealt with one before. If you’ve run into them before, you know they’re a one-trick pony.

Can a zerker DS necro shoot you down? yes. So leave. They can’t catch you, so you just wait for their DS to run out, and then you come back. Same thing for lich…

Necros are horrible at stacking bleeds, so a zerker has plenty of time to take one out. DPS is a race, if a necro needs 12 seconds to do 1000 damage, and you’re spamming 4-5k heartseekers and dropping all conditions just by stealthing… what a joke…

Necros have tricks, and once someone has learned your tricks it’s over.

My WOW friends tells me RESILIENCE is for PvP… All joking aside, if you use all facets of MY class (THIEF) then message me in game. I do not like to post my ideas, builds or strategies on the forums because I do not want the baddies to see them or even try them cause they will most likely half kitten it and then wah wah wah about how kittenty MY peepees are. They need to learn and see for themselves and to break the mold otherwise they will not realize the full potential of this game.

If you are really interested in what I have to say, and I have a lot to say then message me in game. I prefer to communicate in a one on one environment rather than just post some numbers on a website with little to no explanation or visual proof. In game I can show you how my build kicks kitten . It is a very aggressive in your face play style with I would say 75% defensive mechanics, but my bullets are hollow points and the dagger is flaming hot and sharp.

In WvW I hate it when….

….I am on my warrior who only has melee weapons and a ranged class attacks me. All ranged weapons should be disabled when a ranged class initiates a fight with me.

….I am roaming on my thief and am attacked by three people at once. Two of them should be automatically disconnected at the start of the fight to make it more even.

….I am on my support guardian and the enemy stops focusing me and switches to my teammates instead because of my high defenses. The game should force enemies to be only able to attack me.

….I am on my elementalist and enemies don’t stand in my meteor shower after I cast. The game should force enemies to stand in the red circle and soak up the damage, like in PvE.

….I am on the WvW forums listening to people complain about stealth mechanics, because they haven’t spent enough time in WvW to learn how to deal with them.

Here’s an idea of how to maybe help P/P.

First, buff the scaling on the autoattack like others have suggested. The DPS (including the bleeding ) is barely on par with SB, and it has to be traited to maybe bounce. Dire P/D won’t see a buff, so it’s not much of a concern. Hybrid might but we don’t have the might stacking to really push it over the top like other Celestial classes. If they are worried about runaway damage, they could make it do extra damage on targets with vulnerability (like they did for warrior’s rifle) instead of just a straight up damage boost.

Second, get rid of unload in its current form. Rapid fire and volley work alright because they don’t affect the skills on the rest of the set. Instead, change the skill into a gap creator:

Fire a shot at point blank range (range 130, instant cast, up to 3 targets, 0.5 multiplier ). This shot destroys a boon(prioritizing stability). Evade backwards (.75 sec, distance 300, i.e dodge roll backwards ). Fire a second shot that weakens and cripples the target (3 seconds weakness and cripple, 1.5 multiplier). There should be a 0.25 second after cast as well so it’s not entirely evade frames.

I think this would allow P/P to retain cohesiveness as a power set and also be a threat to some of the boon-brawler builds running around right now. The damage portion of the skill is decently telegraphed by the dodge roll, keeping the skill from being overpowered. It also sets up nicely for headshot to be useful, and if they make the autoattack deal more damage to vulnerable foes, body shot will have its place as well as CnD in P/D hybrid.

If you’re playing a Thief, learn how to dodge. What you’re describing is a short bow, in case you haven’t noticed we thieves already have one of those. Have you even played with PP, and I’m not talking about shooting the golems in the mist. I played PP from level 6 or 7 when we got to dual weld up to level 80 and I still main those weapons now. Sure Dagger main hand is a great single target dps but if the Guard or whoever is tanking can’t get and maintain aggro for me then I’d rather go 100% up time with PP than about 85% with Daggers on certain pve bosses and mostly all the bosses in an F50.

Happiethyme here, YEAH WTF DEVS it’s only 900 range, bring back the 1200 with ricochet and make it bounce to 9 targets that way I can bust a cap on both blue and green wvw zergs. Also the 2nd string of unload should apply 5 secs of stability cause that’s around the time the rangers, warrs, notice I’m capping them and pop off their knockbacks. It’s also about when the necro that got ripped to about 10% HP pops his/her fear on me. We can have it farther traited at 6 points to add a homing bug if you manage to get a 5th string off and hit them with the 5th string of unload that way we can close that gap to them without switching to DP.

John Dillinger, now there’s a thief…I want a Tommy gun instead of the pea shooters Happiethyme’s stuck with that can only pop off 6-8 unloads max. That’s about 60-100 bullets if I get lucky with ricochet at a range of 1050, possible 4200 max range again I probably have more chances of winning the lotto than ricochet procing that. Oh and another thing, with d/p, I’m guessing the thieves in gw2 are all left handed cause they can throw knives with their left hand 1200 range but our bullets can only fly 900, 1050 if we pop some roids, figure that out.

So my Evis war that hits ele’s from 100% to down is not an issue? I don’t like it when people complain about completely normal dmg from a full damage build. Zerk vs Zerk usually means the first person that gets to 3 hits wins.

3 sec is long enough for my zerk condi build to hit you with my Death Touch. As soon as I touch you I’m kondi dead.

My highest HS was 14k and Back Stab was 15k. Oh yeah my full zerk PP build I can string about 8-10 Unloads on your a__. 72k string onTeq’s burn phase in 6 secs with Time Warp up. 430k Unload string on Dredge final boss in 10-12 secs. 55k single unload 1.5 secs. I’ll see you on the battlefield

WAH WAH WAH… That’s about all I see. All these so called “PvP’ers” as soon as an enemies yak comes strolling along to the very gate they just staring at waiting for the “PvE’ers” to break open for them so they can leech off of the people that actually put in work, bought the siege plans, dropped it and OH got the supplies with them to build the kitten things while the “PvP’ers” just stand around and shoot the breeze, cause they so PvP that they apparently don’t even bother to pick up an supplies after they got their PvP a___es owned running off chasing a flea. Back to the yak strolling along to the very gate they just staring at but hey us “PvP’ers” don’t need karma, we just wanna slap some yaks… so as soon as we see one MAKING A BEE LINE RIGHT TO OUR ZERG WHERE EVERYONE CAN GET IN A HIT AND GET THE YAK SLAPPER CREDIT, but no we sooooo PvP we’ll go solo that yak and show everyone how PvP we are and F the rest of the zerg that’s actually playing WvW and being part of the WORLD v WORLD team trying to break down that wall / gate to cap that tower with 10 secs left before the tick cause OH WHAT ARE WE PLAYING WORLD v W O R L D !!!!! All selfish AND MOST OF ALL USELESS.

Plz stop insulting WvW players were already down in the mud under the rock whit no hope anywhere.

PVE won’t solve anything to us just makes it worse.

So you just want to open field brawl, no need for tower caps, smc holds, supply chains, siege weapons, wps, points per tick, hell we won’t even need WvW just an open field. While the loot from the Supervisors, and Lords are nice, it gets pretty stale after about 50 sentry, camp, tower and smc caps.

One of the most fun I had was defending… actual first of all capping an opposing worlds EB keep, pushing them back to their BL WP area. Then protecting the Keep Lord, healing him, stealthing etc… for a full 3 and a half Defend timer events after both gates were down, while being out numbered at least 2 or 3 to 1.

Now imagine if there was an event to “Bring in or port in the Cavalry” but you have to run back or wp back to your keep to buy the Cavalry for say 1k badges or 2g and the smc lord or keep lord equivalent champ and his squad of 2 t3 dolyaks and 10 t3 vets will arrive within 30-45 secs. If he arrives after the keep has fallen then he would then then unpack his sieges and try to get the keep back.

Now as an attacker trying to get your keep back, you would be alerted of this event. You would have some decisions to make 1. try to beat the cavalry n get the keep back before they get there. Then try to destroy the cavalry. 2. Start the timer on their keep hopefully you did it before everything started. 3. Intercept and crush the cavalry before they can get to the keep… options options

Oh I forgot one more option, you can do what most of the zergers do now… see ONE mob and run after it like a Donkey running after a carrot on a stick n get caught in a trap.

This is WvW not MEvW… team play is part of the big picture and the enjoyment of the game. If you guys wanna toss a yo yo back and forth in the middle of nowhere then go PvP, at least then you can get a decent reward for chasing that ONE flea for 2 minutes halfway across the map. That team play applies to the NPCs that populate the map to. You don’t want to be on the receiving end of 3 vet frogys simultaneous barrage of poison darts and leap stomps. The Keep and Castle Lords if you protect them well they are great dpsers and tanks, same goes for their guards that surround them.

Theres nothing like seeing 2 screen full of red name tags on either side as you ready to converge and become one gigantic zerg thats about to crush your might as well not be there and definitely not worth the resources to upgrade cause it’ll only slow them down what 2 secs T3 walls, as you and your zerg goes out to defend smc. What do you do? Bust a U-Turn with your tail between you legs and watch on the walls as they catapult the kitten out of your walls or charge full steam ahead and cut them off in the middle while some of your zerg swings to the side of them n close in on them break their momentum and scatter them to the winds. Yes you will die but this is just a game, hopefully you disoriented them long enough that they didn’t know to start the timer on smc so you can wp right back n get on a cannon or trebs and really give it to them or come right back to the front line to claim another 5-10 ears.

As far as I’m concerned they should penalize big zergs after a certain amount of players lets say 10-15 are met any extra players that are in that commanders squad that puts in a hit will reflect negatively on the entire zerg / squad and reduce their loot and experience gained. LET THE CRYING BEGIN….!

Oh hey if our toon is a male toon a giant pink cada zooms out and we change into the a suit and tie and try to sell the car to the target. If we’re a female toon, we start a strip dance by the time we get to our 2 piece if the target is in 900 range bam we get emm for 100% gold.

Really? Know any pick pockets that goes slow mo or telegraphs his razor blade action? Purse snatchers come at you from a distance, I believe it’s about 900 to. John Dillonger and his homeys didn’t pop their caps outside the bank, they went inside first.

LOL “Title says it all…[STEAL]” not pop a cap, throwing dart, shooting farts, or slinging mug… If I misjudge the distance it does a full CD on my kitten 24 or 25 secs. Wayyy back when if you missed it was only 3 sec CD but I guess your cousin wah wah wah n they nerfed us.

I’m with you Zeroday I’m willing to make it a full reset CD if I can steal 90% of the targets 50 cents, at least them I’ll find a use for the 10% damage buff while wielding a bundle trait.

So, a lot of people come to the thief forums to open up a topic on a particular skill/thing they want nerfed. So I thought I would create a post were you can post what you want nerfed and why. For instance, say I wanted to nerf their crafting speeds, it would be the following post:

What: Thief crafting speeds.
Why: It’s unfair they craft faster when in stealth.
Suggestion: (optional) Take their crafting time… and double it!

They already ninja nerfed our speed signet, without even saying anything. 2 ninja nerfs on our endurance regens. Log in first nerf, hmm I can’t dodge 3 times in a roll anymore. 2nd nerf hmm it’s taking about .5-1 sec longer for me to spam that 3rd dodge. How do I know each nerf I’m pounding aa dd ss ww ee qq anyone of those an extra time.

They even made us do an 180 about face when we spam 222222 now. WTF????

Emm the wp you need to wp back cause you just got your sorry behind ganked is PvE, that wall that you ran into and the gate that hit you in the behind is PvE… The keep walls, the Tower terraces and the dolyaks’ behinds that you hide under are PvE. The camp sups, tower and smc lords are PvE. The Lords are probably the most visible thing during a full on brawl, he’s PvE, don’t attack him n don’t stand in the circle cause they are PvE…

Do some research on the other servers b4 you wah wah wah. During the previous Tournament Crystal Desert and SBI had us out numbered a few times. Our server believe it or not is mostly PvE. Personally I’m more PvE myself but I do like to enjoy all facets of this game. I don’t even know what servers we up against this week haven’t been or looked into WvW yet this week. Most of the WvWers from CD I heard has transfered to higher pop / league servers. As far as the other servers go I think they are doing LS stuff at the moment. I can’t speak for my server, I don’t even attend the weekly server WvW meetings they have. I’ve heard players from other servers saying since this is the off season they are intentionally losing week after week to lower their rank / tier / standing so when the tournament starts they can pick on some 1 or 2 kiddies and call themselves champs. I’m pretty sure you know all about that Swamurabi since you seem to follow DBs’ WvW activities so closely. WvW is a great place to farm pvp or pve wise, especially since it’s so under guarded. Last week about 5 of us PvD one of the hills Inner gate and noone came to stop us. Took us about 10 or so mins and no one came, not even an npc guard. So hey I’m not one to look a gift horse in the teeth.

Anyways I run zerk in PvE, it get a bit boring sometimes just 111 2222222 11111 22222 dodge 2222 dodge 2221111

I hop in WvW cause I can 67821344595873 dodge north south east west, talk some kitten etc….

Ehh last I checked aren’t server pops matched up? Just because your server doesn’t wanna WvW doesn’t mean that they are ganged up on. Also if you’ve got the skills to pay the builds and know at least 3 other class skills and dynamics then you can easily go 1 v 3. 1 RoS Thief, not that familiar with an 80 Guard, got one that i’m craft leveling he’s 54 atm, but Guards are Guards I know they can shadow step to mobs to attack n to allies to heal at 1200 range. Thief, Guard, another Guard and or Mes, Engi, Warr, Necro, Eles. Another poison share Thief and bam bam BAM shadow step, 1 Guard attack shadow step, the other heal SS to the back, my particular favorite right smack dab in the middle of the zerg or on the side and for 3 secs cause major havoc, scatter and pick off. The Guard once in has plenty of Stab he / she / they can buff us with and then the Guards can do what Guards do. The Mes meanwhile can also port in bubble us or bubble the zerg, personally I like torch evade / distortion / reflect when you’re distorted or glamour fields cause confusion and confusion blinds. So many things to have fun with, mantra heals, clone bombs etc… Eles DD enough said, Warrs they dumb but carry a big stick, Necros play dirty and even Huntards they can stealth to… Use your imagination.

First off SMC. I’ve heard many people say that SMC isn’t meant to be held for a long time. Personally I think It should be held the entire time. I would rather defend an SMC with a wp and let the my T3 keep fall. SMC is in the middle of the map with a wp you can wp back and get to anywhere on the map in half the time, while our keep is located right next to our BL wp. Yes I know SMC is bigger and easier to keep it undersieged.

That being said I think there should be greater incentive and rewards for holding SMC longer. Each match up or round is a whole week long, so there should be side meta events like “Hold SMC for 2 or 3 days” or even 24 hours and you get a Champion to help guard an outer gate, and inner gate or a corridor of the Lords room. After the 2, 3 days or 24 hour is achieved then the next tier will bring another Champ or a trio of Champs to patrol the outer, inner courtyards or the Lords room while the Lord is moved to the 2nd floor. The patrolling champ(s) can even patrol outside of the castle making it harder to gather intel and timer tap. Finally Tier 3, hold SMC for 6 days and the Lord is moved to the third floor with 2 champs guarding the 2nd floor and 1 champ guarding the first floor. There should be a pool of 10 to 15 champs you can choose from. It would be nice if the champs were unique class of themselves, like the Monk, the Crusader / Paladin, on the toad swamp side the Mist Walker / Shaman, and on the Ogre side the Jugganaunt. During Tournament play these meta events can be even more attractive by offering skins, or minis of the champs that you’ve earned by Holding SMC for an X amount of time / days.

There can be more incentives and rewards like the Trio time limit in Frostgourge Sound. This is where escorting 10K Dolyaks wouldn’t seem so boring and unsatisfying. After the first tier is achieved “Hold SMC for 2 Days” AND a wp is built, a meta event would kick in and give you the opportunity to swift buff and escort those Yaks to their destination(s) to achieve a certain amount of supplies before the timer is up. If they do complete the event(s), then for a reduced amount of coin and badges you can either choose which side or whichever side the most supplies were delivered from and put up 1 to 3 sieges, trebs, catapults, acs or ballistas at 3/4 of the supplies needed to build them. Or they can be already built and you choose where to put them. Another option could allow a 2nd wp to be built in the outer courtyard. The Yak escort event could be available for each side of SMC. You can then choose to build a wp on each side of SMC and be unhinged from the Lords room wp. Meaning when the outer wp(s) is contested the inner Lords room wp is still available to use. Of course this would only be available after you’ve at least achieved the first tier of the 6 day hold event. The outer wps could further be unhinged from each other after the 2nd tier of the hold is achieved. Now that would certainly be so much more rewarding than just getting a bronze, silver or gold medal with no experience, silver or karma to go with it. When those Yak event pop the opposing side would also have stop the Yak / supply delivery events pop. The incentive and rewards could be anywhere from lots of gold, temp buffs, slowing the arrival of the champs or disabling a set of gate guards, mortars, cannons etc… on one side of SMC and the champ that was earned from the first tier of holding for a limited amount of time. If the map is full then 2 or 3 simultaneous bonus Yak events can pop at the same time. On the attacking side, if you manage to stop or event cripple, i.e. treb the opposing teams supply depot and reduce it to 0 or a certain amount then the reward / disabling time could go as long as 1 day.

Finally, if you manage to hold SMC for the entire duration of the round, about 6.5 to 7 days. Then you can start the next round with a T3 SMC with a wp already built and ready to rock. Future match ups can pit 3 servers that achieved this amazing feat and start them out with a T3 keep with wp built and let them mad dash for control of SMC and try to be the best of the best. You can give them further incentive by offering the 7 Unique Ascended or Legendary weapons or armor skins or the mercenary champs outfit / armor as rewards. Now that would be a Tournament to end all Tournaments.

I’ve got a few more ideas for Borderlands and Tower mechanics but that’s for another day.

Need team work minded team players that understand some strategies. Guards that know how to blink and heal, blink and aoe as a group. Ele’s that can heal, don’t have to be main healing just supplement you can still rip some kitten if you like but know how to rip the kitten while healing some. Engineers same thing as Ele’s. Necros, Hunters, anyone that knows the dynamics of different classes. Mesmer’s the signet / distortion / reflect build, or the Mantra Healing, Glamour aoe confusion, light field / aura stacking build. These are just some examples of the team dynamics I’m looking for.
This is Happiethyme, another example of some team play. Two Thieves, one a condition expert, the other me, providing protection with resilience of shadows. other classes Guards and Ele’s or Mesmers. The 2 Thieves and the Guards blink to the middle, side or back of the zerg and wreck some confusion, just a few seconds. The Warriors and Engineers push up, and any other class that wants to break the zerg, scatter them and pick them off. That’s just one of many strategies I got. If you interested message me in game.
Looking for the cream of the crop. Why? “… Cause the cream always rises to the TOP.”
Oh need people that know how to res to, tunnel vision face zerking no brains that can’t read or write need not apply. Especially if you like to chase fleas around like a little puppy dog.
