I have been playing around with a PVE/WvW build that uses high crit chance and damage with healing and toughness to give me a life stealing tanky guard.
Take a look it might give you some ideas.
As an Ex EVE online player, i wish the market was more visable so i could make better educated risks and rewards on the TP. I don’t understand how people find this so hard to understand. Everything being equal and rare adds to the costs of an item as does one item being more useful. Put that together and some items are worth (what people are willing to pay) than others. pretty simple really.
I play that exactly same role.
I use 2 different builds depending on if we are in a small group or in large fight ( we know generally before we go.

This is my build for large fights. It has a little more life and in general i like AOE DOT we can do. It allows me to work over mobs as a delaying force or takings camps and towers.
skill are to support, and help drop aoe and get out if needed. I use for killing siege etc too.
This is a smaller build that i use for both small groups and spvp. designed to focus on dumping cond on a single target and spreading them as quick as possible while stacking might and focusing down the main target

My WvW necro build is here: As above. I use cripple/bleeds/wells/marks non stop then epidemic in zergs and lol. Necros turn battles in WvW all the time. DS into a zerg, drop all your AOE Epi, plague out back to your team as they rush forward to support you.
Also marks and AOe works underneath towers,bridges and other platforms great for killing seige

Blood is Power is terrible. It’s two stacks of Bleed, four if you pop Plague Signet or Deathly Swarm. For Life Force I’d much rather take Spectral Armor despite the cooldown being much longer. It’s just not a huge enough burst of Life Force for me to waste the slot on such minimal damage.
Also, pre-Elasticity, I have a much easier time dealing with world mobs as a Necro than a Mesmer. Hell, we’re actually a really good world PvE class due to how much cripple/AOE Bleed can be thrown out coupled with Minions, regardless of their AI, taking Aggro. I actually think mass AOE is where the Necro shines; regardless of their issues Necros are a top tier class in WvWvW and do great in mass mob DEs (although single boss events tend to be their bane)
I agree. Cond. + AOE is where the necro shines.
So I’m up to a level 50-ish necromancer Sylvari. I’ve been finishing up the last of my skills and I’ve noticed that I really dislike, to put it nicely, the sylvari specific skills. The seeds which do damage seem weak and useless when im in battle. They seem slow and do small damage. Anyone else disagree or know how to use them effectively at a high level.
I am a lvl 80 cond. necro. I use seed turrets in both PVE (large mobs or bosses they are grumpy) and in WvWvW. In wvw i use it in defenses mainly to put on pressure when getting pushed or in sieges as the turrets arc quite nice. I also use it to smash attacks and rout the enemy; I death shroud into the zerg; drop seed turrets, drop wells and marks then use my scepter on the way out to cripple and evade as best i can. This allows my team to get in the ranks and rout or push as many players fall back under the DOTs.
