In my “no-requirement” parties, I often see rangers or engis coming. And it’s a “no requirement” party. Well, even knowing that, I see people kicking the ranger or the engi. The ranger or the engi sometimes just said “hi”, but maybe that’s a bannable offense these days?

So no, DeathPanel, kicking for simply showing up in a dungeon as ranger or engi is a real thing. Unfortunately.

If Anet fixed existing dungeon issues, adding new lvl 80 only paths with more difficult encounters and better rewards would be a possible answer.

To me, this is the REAL issue. AC gives 1g50s per path per day, while all other dungeons besides Arah gives 1g5s. IMHO This should be scaled more appropriately to encourage players to run the more difficult content, while still rewarding them for running the lower scaled paths.

i.e. 75s for AC paths (35), 1g for CM paths(45), 1g25s for TA up/forward (55), 3g for Aetherpath (80), 2g for SE (65), 2g25s for CoF (75), 3g for CoE, HotW and Arah p3 (80), 6g for Arah p1/2/4 (80)

Add a Level Range to the LFG. Ability to choose Min/Max level for a dungeon run. This allows people who want to run with other level-appropriate chars to do so, and allows 80s to stay with 80s.

I’ll be the first to admin I have forgotten to use my food and pots/Sharpening Stones on dungeon runs. As I PUG all of my runs, I don’t notice a difference in the team’s performance, as its about 2-3% loss of DPS (2% from pot, assuming 0-1% from food). I DO notice the extra squishyness of my Exotic Zerker gear without the 10% incoming damage reduction.

If I down in any of the fights, I remember VERY quickly to use the food/pot. If I don’t down, I (usually) don’t notice and (usually) will go the full run without them.

I second Dave’s preference for 0/5/0/6/3 or 0/6/0/6/2.

I usually run the Fast Hands variant with Axe/Mace or Sword – depending on the fight. Once I see stacks up to ~20, I swap to Axe for 8 Vuln stacks + Eviscerate, then back to GS for HB. Since you aren’t running Berserker’s Power, there is no reason to avoid Eviscerate.

If I run the 0/6/0/6/2 variant, Swap is just Sword/Horn for skips. (switch to Axe/Horn for fighting – you can blast a Fire Field with Horn 5 before camping on GS)

I still think they are useful for Phalanx Strength builds, but that being about it… Back to Scholar I guess….

I saw a stream a week or so ago where it appeared the team was able to go back into the hallway and avoid all the barrages.

Is there any reason the Round of 16 only has 8 teams listed?

I usually ran 0/6/0/6/2, but I tried 0/5/0/6/3 last night and I like it a bit more. It adds a level of flexibility to the build that I felt was lacking just camping GS.

The problem with Phalanx is it locks you into X/4/X/6/X – leaving only 4 points left to divvy up. The extra 1 in Arms is almost necessary for the 10% modifier, leaving you with 3 points in one of 3 lines – Strength (where the best traits are in 4 and 6), Defense (Dogged March and Adrenal Health), and Discipline (Signet Mastery / Warrior’s Sprint and Fast Hands).

You do realize that the first link you posted HAS SoR in as an option for your DPS heal.

• Shelter – Main heal since using blocks is the best way to survive as a dps guard
• Signet of Resolve – Use when you need a big heal and blocks aren’t important

Tomes of Knowledge – in my opinion – have Zero effect on dungeon groups.

Most players that HAVE Tomes of Knowledge are experienced, so they will rarely be a detriment to a group.

You are meant to run to the left through the arch way so the oozes dont even spawn. Either you or someone else ran straight across the room and spawned the oozes which is probably the reason they called you a troll.

This is it. It’s mildly helpful if people avoid the oozes. I always tell my pugs how to avoid it in the future if they do it, but it’s not worth getting upset over.

I do my best to get there first so I can stand in the correct hallway hoping they run through me rather than off to the right. Usually works out pretty well.

I do this and drop a “this way” in party chat if I think some of the others are just along for the ride.

I actually had someone get lost on the way from kholer to the p3 burrow room. How, I have NO kittening clue…

Not to mention the regular condi cleanse that Elementalist already has:
Healing Rain, Cleansing Wave, Magnetic Wave, Phoenix, Cleansing fire, Fire VIII, Water X

When I pug, We usually do the 1 kiter + 4 trappers until the gravelings bar fills, then middle + 4 on the champ

I think Ascended Accessories should replace the uninfused rings on 31+. This way we at least don’t have to waste 80 Laurels and 100 Ectos gearing up an alt…

Laurels would still be the best place to get amulets (Can’t say only because the triforge pendant exists) – but they are still only 30 laurels / character

the fractal skin drop rate is completely ruined after the patch, before the patch i had 32 skins in total (manny bubbel but still) now in the few months since the patch i did around 5 fractal 49’s a week and 2 39’s and a 50 and got in total 1 skin…

and the drop rate of the tonic is like 0.00000000000000nothing… after a few thousand runs i know 2 ppl got it..

Pugged AC with a group of 4 guys from EV – I say “I feel out of place, you all are EV” which was met with “Wanna be?”

Recruiting at its finest.

NOTE: they were definitely an above-average PuG group. Might stacking ele, Stacking and melting each of the bosses – it was a good time.

There were some calcs that said you need Scholar’s bonus for X% to be better than Strength runes. (someone can find the calcs)

Personally, I forgo the max personal DPS for the EA + PS with Strength Runes and Night + Strength sigils (I just run AC & CoF, so I always get the 10% bonus from Night)

If you run with a might-stacking Ele and a zerk group, PS becomes redundant – at which point I swap to a Force + Night GS and 6/6/0/0/2.

NOTE: yes, I carry 3 different Greatswords. Force + Night, Night + Strength, Slaying + Strength. I just overwrite the Slaying Sigil if I need it.

The “chest tiers” and the “loot tiers” don’t exactly match up. The list from the wiki is the list from the quality of loot in the chest, not the tiers at which you’ll get the chest. That is 1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, and 50. So if you do a 40 and a 49, the 40 is in one lower “quality tier” and the 49 is in the higher one, but they both count as your daily chest for the “40s”.

Confusing as hell, and why they have it set up this way, I have no idea. But it is what it is. It’s been this way since the Fractured patch.

My guess, based on the Wiki page’s “Notes” section, is that the bonus chest is tied to the agony tier, not the reward tier:

Reward tiers start at 1, 11, 21, etc., while Agony tiers start at 10, 20, 30, etc.

Which means a possibility of 6 chests per day (1-9, 10-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50) – even though the 1-9 fractal chest is useless.

What needs to happen:
Fractal Weaponsmith – 40 Pristine Relics for 1 Skin of choice

Also:
Ascended Buyer – Sell rings for regular Relics (say 1/3 of what you would spend on it)

Gives you something to do with extra rings other than sell them for 2s apiece… OR a Gem-based Salvage Kit that can Salvage Ascended. Maybe a random t6 (1-3), Vials of Mist Essence (0-3), Ectos (0-3), Dark Matter (0-3). Would definitely be worth it…

I’ve definitely had problems with this. I want to do dungeons, but people are impatient, unfriendly, and critical. As someone mentioned, though, it does help to create a group by pressing “y” and adding “all welcome/story mode/watching scenes/etc.” I’d like to do explorable mode more, but it’s even harder to find friendly and patient people doing that.

Create your own group and start the instance (so you can’t be kicked without them losing progress). Add the LFG “p1 – Casual Run”. I find the “Causal Run” in the lfg gets you friendlier people who will tolerate more.

I’ve seen similar things when mobs are pushed against a wall, sometimes it goes “Invulnerable”. Usually only see it in CoF, though… I’ve never really paid attention to the AC gravelings… Too busy killing burrows.

Did a google, and the issue dates back to 2012 – so it most likely isn’t going anywhere…

Went with the cleaning last night. The temperatures are better, but still over my comfort level.

GW2 got the temperature up to between 75-80C and after it closed, the temperature hung between 58C and 63C.

1) make sure ur intake isnt obstructed by any material on the under side, like ur trousers, or what ever u have the laptop on.

2) Check to see if u need to clean the heat sink. If u have never cleaned it befor and other hosue hold fans tend to get rather dusty/dirty then i highley recommend taking the laptop apart and cleaning the fan/heatsink. You can also change the TIM whilst ur at it to somthing of high quality like Gelid GC Extreme.

3) Get a laptop cooling pad. It will come with its own desktop sized fan that will push air up into the bottom of the laptop that should find its way into the intake and thus lower temps.

You WILL have to take the laptop apart to clean the heat sink at some point in its lifetime, so dont avoid it if ur not keen on the idea of taking it apart. You have to get around to doing it at some point.

1) I keep it on a flat surface at all times, so no obstructions
2) I will take it apart tonight for cleaning. Now to steal a can of compressed air from work…

Hey all,
I have a Toshiba Satellite (forget the build number) that is about a year and a half old, and I was worried by the temperature of the CPU.

I turn it on, and it boots at ~50C and then steadies around 65C. I run GW2, and the temperatures hit 85C within minutes.

I think during my play session, it fluctuated from 83-88C. As soon as I exited GW2, it dropped like a rock down to 75C before eventually steadying at between 65-70C. I start surfing the web (some forums, Youtube, etc), and it goes back up to 70-75C.

There is a large vent on the right-side of the computer, with what looks like some smaller intakes on the bottom. I am just worried about the temperature killing the meager processor before I have a chance to upgrade to a newer computer.

I am monitoring the temperatures using SpeedFan. I can send screenshots of any diagnostics when I get home (in ~4 hours)

The point was that the fight is still ridiculously trivial even if a group decides to stack, here we did it with just 2 people and with Tzark ruining our plans as well.
If Tzark hadn’t aggro’ed the spider it wouldn’t have burned it’s web attack on him and would not have immediately dropped poison fields on us, allowing us to get the kill and get out alive.

Yeah, tone and sarcasm are lost on the internets.

If you are learning the paths: Warrior
Warrior is more forgiving while learning paths. You can switch to Guardian when you have learned the paths.

Fractals: Guardian
You will need to learn when to Aegis / Reflect, but Guardians can carry bad fractal PUGs.

Ran CoF p2 with PuGs yesterday, and no one would coordinate the Acolyte kills on the Eternal Flame… I try to tell them to sync the kills – silence. Then one of the PuGs starts killing them 1-by-1, leading to there being at least 1 spawned for a good chunk of the fight. There wasn’t even a DPS issue… If we had coordinated the Acolytes, the Flame would have probably gone down in 1 go…

Granted, we still got it done, but it took a lot longer than it should have

As someone who switched from maining a Mesmer to maining a Guard to maining a warrior – I agree.

Assassins has a place in certain builds (where the extra precision is needed).
Knights gear has its place as well – mainly as a training wheel leading up to Berserker.

The rest of them are (generally speaking) useless for PvE – as PvE boils down to harder enemies just having more HP, not more skill – which is why DPS gear is preferable to non-DPS gear

WvW and PvP, on the other hand, brings Rabid, Carrion, Soldiers, Clerics, and Valkyrie (might be missing one or two) into play thanks to other players not just being HP sponges.

Also of note: All Rare/Exotic gear has SOME inherent value – for the Ectos / Dark Matter that comes from salvaging them.

My second time running AC p1 properly on my warrior, I say so in the LFG (“p1 – AC Novice – Will listen”). I was the second most knowledgeable one on the run.

We get 2 40-ish pugs (Necro and Mesmer iirc), a 70s warrior, and an 80 guardian (the most knowledgeable in the run). The whole run took over 2 hours.

Never again… I REALLY don’t want to be an elitest jerk – but I don’t want to lose another 2 hours of my life on a path that should take < 30 minutes.

Thanks to these PUGs, I am only going to run AC with 80s or guildies from now on.

Well, do you really expect that pick up warrior would have spent 90gold for some runes?

Hoelbrak runes are 66% cheaper (<30g for a set of 6), but don’t offer the 7% damage boost. They are an adequate starter set for PUGs who want to stack strength.

Named it “Destroyer of Worlds”.
Takes neither the Power or Precision trees.
Takes Vigorous Shouts.
