Guild Wars 2

Christ guys, I play on both servers. When EU pve is dead, I log in on NA and play with people there, and vice versa. On both servers I had equally brilliant time, and will have in the future. I never was a big WvW player, I log in there for my dailies to fill Legendary reward track. I don’t care for any of the rewards, though must say Legendary backpack is freaking sweet.

This is the best piece I’ve done so far and I’m proud of the most. I struggled for so long with many attempts to draw my main chara. I put so much heart and passion in to it, maybe thats why. I’m very nitpicky about stuff I draw.

This is my main Asura Thief I play since 2012… that’s a long time now, I decided to pay him a proper respect and draw him with an ink.

It had to have something with my PC. I restarted it and it works fine now. Weird indeed. Is there any tool to capture logs from your game that I could later send to devs to make it easier for them to find the cause?

Freaking AMAZING!!!

It started this morning. I was in Orr, never liked this place much anyway, but you know you have to farm those Vials of Powerful Blood. And I noticed I didn’t collect all skins from the Temples for Karma. So I run to the merchant, bought some light armour skins and pressed the button Preview on it ( little disclaimer: I’m playing thief so my armour class is medium, I can’t wear it but I should be able to preview it on my character). As soon as I pressed that button screen freezes whole game freezes. Music and ambient sounds are still going around but I can’t do nothing in the game. Can’t take screen shots, open any menus, even alt f4 out of game or alttab. The only option is to bring on windows task manager, find Guild Wars 2 process and shut it down. But the issue doesn’t stop there. Now every single time I’m trying to preview anything it happens again. Doesn’t matter if it is an item from merchant window, a skin in my wardrobe, an item in my inventory or bank. It always ends up freezing my game.

Eternal alchemy help me!

Sure thing just post them down here or PM them to me. Do lots of them from various angels:) and I’ll see what I can do. Can’t promise anything thou!

Also tell me which art style you prefer more? Quick sketch like the first pictures I posted, or maybe something more alike that charr, or maybe the one with ink?

Since I finished Episode 1 of Season 3 I was beating myself with thoughts.

In my opinion it is the best content story wise you guys crafted so far. So I wanted to celebrate it in my own fashion. And I made this art of my Asura Guardian, hope you like it

I only had been drawing Asuras and one Charr, also I feel comfortable with pencil for the moment, and I’m not good with paint, dyes or colours in general. What would you like me to draw exactly? One of your characters from your fanfic? Or something based of the character you play in the game?

And thank you my love but I only draw for fun, so I’m not taking any gold from any one I can try draw something for you, but can’t promise it will be any good, long way ahead of me still…

So yeah… I’m a little bit an Asura fanatic. I love this race, all my playable characters are Asuras. I’m a sketching beginner so I thought that I’ll try to sketch some Asuras, cause why not.

First three are my test sketches of how anatomy and facial types goes, so they not the most interesting pieces by far.

Also since I’m a huge sucker for new stuff I thought to myself what would it be like to have a mounts in GW, and come up with this moa crazy idea with my daredevil on top of it. It is a rough one but for me capturing this idea was more important. Hope you enjoy it

Last piece is my attempt to draw a Charr character of my friend from Open Community. I hope she liked the final effect at least tiny bit.

Right I created this topic to post some bugs, and glitches or other things that I think are wrong and break immersion in the game. Finding those is always fun, some of those I really like and was struggling to report for a long time, cause I love spending time behind the map.

But as a valid member of GW community I want this game to be excellent and polished as much as it is possible. So I decided every bug, glitch etc. etc. I encounter in the game and I’ll be able to reproduce 100% , will end up here in this topic.

Hope you don’t mind that I kept some of this for so long to myself and will forgive me for that.

Lets go.

First one is what I like to call “What really is under the Golden City”

We need to glide through that bush , and stick to the left side of the wall behind the waterfall. Slightly lower there will be kitten in the wall. You can get through there outside of the map. It looks like someone forgot to put one rock there

Next one is my personal place (all my charas are Asuras after all ), where I go to open bags and mostly pray to RNGesus for greatest loot. Didn’t work so well so far I must tell you. I call this place “Best seats ever to watch your home”.

That would be it if we are talking about getting outside of the map. But there is one more thing that concerns me about one of the vanilla jumping puzzles.

In Kessex Hills, in a " The Collapsed Observatory", gliding is never switch off. There is no de buff that prevents players from gliding in that area, which makes this jumping puzzle like less then 20 sec run to the finally. Was that intentional ? It feels wrong to me.

It’s worth mentioning the game has a 5.8/10 on Metacritic right now.

Granted, thats with only 23 user reviews.

I’d give the game a 5/10, and really only because its riding on the base game’s coattails. The maps feel claustrophobic. Acquiring mastery points and hero points is confusing with the mastery gating system not being explained anywhere on the map. The open world content is limited and repetitive. And the thought of doing all this over, and over, and over again, each time I want to unlock the elite spec on an alt makes me want to just put the whole thing down.

There were so many poor design choices made for HoT. It’s not unplayable, but the idea of playing it is not attractive to me at all.

It’s worth mentioning that it’s now 7.0 on Metacritic. Pretty much shows that the majority of people who gave the expac a review so quickly were people who just had a grudge with a single decision that ANet made and didn’t really even play the content to get a well-rounded view.

But ton of people who gave this expansion 10 is right then ?! Are you kidding me dude, check the rate 90 % green reviews is 10, where HoT is no where near to deserving even 8 rating ! Overpriced grind factory that what it is!

4 Is a Maximum at the moment…

I wanted to play story, that’s what interest me the most, not bloody legendaries, not masteries, freaking story! And I have to admit from what I’ve seen story is really good, missions are longer from the ones in main campaign, small cut-scenes, changed dialogues. I love it and adore it. But blocking my progress with masteries is one of the most dumbest things I’ve seen in gamingso far. Who thought that was a good idea!? I don’t want to play everything and nothing at the same time as you are forcing me to. First I want to play personal story from the beginning to end without any artificial walls on my way. When I’m done with the story then I can have more fun in pve maps, doing the events, helping soldiers in VB, or fighting mordrems in AB.

Do not know what you guys there in ArenaNet tried to accomplish by that, but now whenever I do any events and look at my masteries exp bar I’m starting to hating it slowly more and more every time. You know why. Cause I’m forced to grind through it to be able to play story. I’ve taken one week off from work with my friends to play HoT, but you won’t let me to. I refused to play one story mission then grind for next 20 + h to get any other bloody masteries that games requires for me to be able to play next chapter. Not mentioning that I probably beat that chapter in about 20 minutes or less to be forced to grind once more for tens of hours for the next point of story to be available to play.

That is not why I played GW for years, I didn’t ask for MMO like every other, where you have to sit and repeat same things for 3242345 times before you’ll be able to get something out of the game. I loved it cause I had freedom of choice, where I go, what I’m gonna do next, If I go and kill zhaitan or I’ll complete the whole world map first.

Taking that choice from me you made me hating the content I would in different situation probably enjoyed playing. But because I’m forced to do everything now as quick as possible before my holiday run out, guess what. I do not like this new GW formula, and if you stuck with it I’m out and done. That’s not the game I loved so much, and prayed to my friends as the best MMO ever.

I love HoT ost. Basically every piece in the game is marvelous by itself. But is there any way to listen to it outside from the game? I could find like only 5 of them on ArenaNet soundcloud. Would prefer much more to buy the whole collection of 40 or whatever number of track there is.

This sub forum is about HoT so obviously question was about HoT ost which is not yet available at the moment.

I would really love to hear opinion from Anet… how it should be, cause wikia says one, and in the game you can see something else :/ I have new theory though my little asura is such a genius it brakes through time and space when it travels around Tyria.

Well I was running around Lion’s Arch, admiring the new look of the map, enjoying every new cosmetic detail added to the game, when I noticed something awkward. Something really creepy I must say. Well I know it is a minor bug, or even a bug in a technical meaning. But it is a serious graphic one which reminds you that you are actually playing a video game, not having an epic adventure in fantasy world.

What the heck is wrong with the moon o.O ?

I’m really sorry if I put this topic in a wrong place but I tried really hard to find this particular soundtrack and cannot do it, neither any of my friends can help me. So, what I’m actually talking about is this short piece of music which we can hear in this trailer for living story season 1.

Could anyone tell me if it is even available anywhere to buy or download, or Anet ever released it ? I really love this one short ost, it stacked in my head for very long and I looked for it whenever I could. Maybe I missed it, but I cannot find it in the actual game, there is no sign of anything like it in official Anet soundcloud.

Any help would be appreciate. Also I’m very sorry for my poor English skills but as many of you already noticed I’m not a native speaker

Do not do PS story now !!! It’s badly broken, there are few parts of the story missing, and final fight can disappoint you in many ways.

They promised back then that zhaitan fight will be epic and will be carved deeply in our memory. Yeah it is carved but as quiet huge opposite of what they promised me to deliver. I don’t think they will ever fix it, neither zhaitan or this missing chapter thing, which is really sad to me cause I really care about this kind of stuff.

kittenmit final bosses need to be a freaking kitten epic fights which u should want to replay with your friends every time for a while. I kicked Zhaitan once and I don’t feel like I wont to try again in this around half hour long, boring unfinished and buged as hell dungeon. I can only hope they want screw up fight with Mordremoth in upcoming expansion.

PS Tequatl showed us that if Arena wants to deliver an epic boss battle, they can do it.

i’m mostly concerned with the plot holes, and rearranging of the story. yes, zhaitain was anticlimatic, but hey, there aren’t alot of ways to fight a giant dragon with a small team in a dungeon. hell, i’d be happy if the mission at the source of orr were the only thing put back where it was before, i can maybe ignore the other issues if i have the epic fight before fighting a dragon, instead of an epic fight 3 years before i go fight a dragon.

That still doesn’t change the fact that it is final battle of PS, and it is unfinished, and buggy as hell. There are things like point of interest impossible to reach on the map, did u ever tried to jump of from your ship ? Try to jump after zhaitan dies to point where his body fell down. You will be surprised how bad it is. And I can’t agree there are not a lot of ways to fight him. It just need a little creativity and good will to make it much much more better. But I understand your concern about holes in PS story earlier. Without fixing them there is no even point of trying to do something about zhaitan. Which really makes me start to wonder. How the hell they could broke it even more… and do nothing about it at all.

dude 5 months really? it has been freaking 2 and half year after release and they did nothing with final instance and final fight, which is everything it was promised want be. Boring as hell almost half of hour through broken and unfinished dungeon with “epic” fight in the end with elder dragon which is clearly smashing one button when u get to the turret. Cool huh? Don’t think so. And they did nothing to change that. If they don’t care so much about one of the most important elements in the game you can easily forget about them doing anything with current PS. We can only hope HoT will do it much much better then the base game did.

I hope we will meet in Tyria though, it is beautiful place to find peace when it is needed and just chillout a little bit. After all it could be our world, facing elder dragons and all that crazy nonsense :P Gladly I need to fight with taxes, argue with my boss at work from which I can get money for a new fresh expansion :P

Fair winds and safe travels. Don’t count Anet out forever. I left for a bit to do SWTOR and Wow for a few months each. I came back because I had already done everything I wanted to do in those worlds and started wanting more of the things that make GW2 stand out. When you get to the point you’re raiding in WoW and keep doubletapping movement keys to dodge or can’t find the right skill on 15 bars… and you’d kinda like that 15 bucks a month back… For better or worse, you can always come back here.

First i was hugely disappointed by lack of new race in expansion, but after one guy on forum helped me to understand why Arenanet couldn’t do that, it is easier for me to forgive them and say without doubt in devs…

Hell freaking yeah I’m gonna buy it, and hope they let me have it in a CE !

I don’t think we need a new race, it would screw up the personal story and it would force the devs on reworking on all the armours, wasting their time over something superficial.

Sadly for me you are right mate. I didn’t think about it before, but now I can see the main problem here. Probably we will never see a new playable race in GW 2. At least not in the expansion, cause of the structure of personal story and lore. It would be really weird if totally new race all of sudden jump in and helped with Zhaytan problem. That what expansion should really do, add new things to make a playability bigger, but amount of work needed in this case of new playable race seems not profitable enough and to much time consuming as you said before.

Maybe it will have if they ever release a new campaign, which I think now is not going to happen.

How do you feel about it, it’ve always been one of my favourite things in a huge expansions. This possibility to play a new race, with visiting totally new capitol and researching new racial stuff etc. etc. It kind of make me sad to thinking Heart of Thornes ain’t gonna deliver it to us. I mean if they had it planned why wouldn’t they showed it to us in a first place.

It’s my first topic or even post on that forum. My English is far from being good enough so pls don’t be to harsh for me.

I love Tyria, I love specially asuras, traveling, and exploring new places, new lands. Thats what i was hoping to get in GW 2. Huge world which i can travel with my friends. If i only new that there would be no box expansions , maybe i wouldn’t be so disappointed now. Don’t get me wrong. It was fun, a lot of fun, but I’m now to much bored with whole this living world thing. I prefer much more what Blizzard done for WoW. A lot of expansions, adding new lands, races, professions. I still don’t understand why GW 2 can’t have one, when first had 3 of them. Really god one with everything what i wonted.

I stayed with u Arena long time with first GW, I was hoping I’m gonna stay with GW 2 as well till GW 3 will come.

But I’m going now, I wish u guys a lot of success with your game and promise to come back the same day when the new expansion will be announced.
