I have found all classes in dungeon runs and other pve environments to be useful. Everyone brings something unique to the table. Personally I always prefer a competent player regardless of class. I think there is too much weight on min / maxing and not enough discussion surrounding player skill.
I think this lag is highly connected with the so called “Dragon Hunters”.
People guest servers to complete the dragon and other events, for the sake of getting more loot. Why people would do this is beyond me. But there HAS to be a solution for this and it has to come fast.
The events are unplayable. It’s very simply put, but its the truth. I can’t use a single skill.
People do this cause more loot is more loot. That Arenanet did not have the foresight to realise that people love the easy option, Dragon Hunters would not have appeared.
It is fast becoming common knowledge that the dragon chests actually drop stuff that is useful now and people are participating more. More and more are becoming aware that you can only loot a dragon chest once a day but people being what they are have found a way around this. By guesting on another server, you get to loot multiple dragon chests for the same kills but on different servers.
This of course has led to massive influx of players during events leaving me mainly with severe culling, overflow servers and even non-participation in events due to some unknown reason. There was much discussion surrounding guesting as Far Shiverpeaks strained to breaking point in the recent claw of jormag event and the consensus drawn was that one chest per day and only lootable on your home server.
Arenanet need to realise that players will always take the easier option and now that you have given them this relative gold mine of servers to descend upon, destroy dynamic events for the home crowd and leave when they are done, this was inevitable. A fix must be in the workings and fast otherwise these events will become unplayable during peak hours.
TL,DR: Guesting is killing DE’s – only allow players to loot dragon chest on their home server.

Ah that was it. I could’ve sworn they buffed the hell out of armour too. But my memory is not the most reliable.

I did not know that about the pet. You may know that the other mmo out there countered the pet dying in the fire all the time cause he is a stupid pet problem, by buffing the crap out of the pets armor and health pool. Caused a slight ruckus with the pvp crowd but died down when they realised, hey just kill the ranger and not the pet.
I run with a ranger all the time and it is sad to see her damage output next to my warrior and then for her to offer so little utility in return. Hope you rangers get some love soon cause I want my gaming partner to kick kitten too.
When I receive an achievement a nice little window popups in the bottom right of the screen to inform me “tada! You did good!” When this window popups, I instinctively click the popup, expecting the achievement pane to open and for the achievement just earned to be focused on.
This is not the case. I click it quite fervently only to see it fade away and drop off the screen. Unable to resist curiousity, I have to open the achievement pane (no hotkey for this so pressing Y furiously does nothing) and see what I have earned and just say, “yup, achievement points there” and close the window again.
What I would love to see is the function added whereby upon seeing the achievement popup in the bottom right side of the screen, is the simple ability to click on the achievement and be taken straight to my achievement pane to see what I have done.
TL:DR – Make clicking the achievement popup open the achievement pane and zoom in on earned achievement.
I have always played female characters in mmo’s. I like the feminine touch to burying an axe into some poor fools head. The thing that disappointed me the most about GW2 character generation is that I could not make a fat female character. I could not make her look battle scarred. I could not make her ugly. It was quite a challenge to get her looking the way she does and people say my norn is ugly, but it is not close enough for me. I want more battle scarred, uglier and fatter.
The epidemic in my eyes is not the human / norn females everywhere, but the lack of body types and the over the top baby doll looks of them all. Bring in the battle scars and the ugly!
