We closed a serious but not-widespread exploit, and banned those accounts that performed it and those that received or stored the wealth they generated.
So… an exploiter can get OTHER people banned by giving them gold or items? A friend or guildmate tossing me a few gold to help me out can cost me my account?

Yup, that’s what is happening.
One guildie got banned after sending his brother 90 gold that he needed for the achievement a few months ago and the other by lending another guild member 80 gold so he could buy ectos when they were cheap a while back.
Full messages were included on the mail not just a plain mail with gold in it.
All to guild members within the same guild, same server, no monkey business.
If they were really investigating and reviewing the accounts there’s no way the mail would seem like it was gold selling or anything fishy.
I don’t think this is the only thing that’s happening, to be honest. There have been several people stating they were mid-fractal runs when this occurred and my guildie, personally, was in WvW at the time. I can understand why information related to each case wouldn’t be made public but I’m sure they’ve received massive amounts of emails and tickets regarding this issue.
I’m sure no one that’s been on the receiving of this feels entitled to troves of treasure but rather, just want their personal accounts that they’ve purchased and invested loads of time and effort and some, even real money.
ANet, any acknowledgement may be prudent at this point. Was this a blanket execution? A misstep or was substantial evidence levered for these accounts to be terminated? To those affected, I can’t imagine the frustration.
That said, the less outrage and flaming that occurs the more likely this thread will stay open so that ANet and others may have the chance to reply.
This is terrible. 3pm PST on a Friday is a kick in the teeth for West Coast NA players. It will also make it impossible for our guild to get on and player together for reset. The 5pm start was just possible for us.
Just think on when we ‘fall back’ in a few months..
..it’ll be 2 pm PST, 3 pm MST, 4 pm CST, and 5 EST..

I was schooled a number of times by CO folk but have to agree, it was incredible being able to SEE you guys pour out of Klovan and wash over the group.
I never begged or cried for a commander do anything. People (including d\erp) wanted to know where it was, so I was telling the route in /t so more could join in. I was in the parade as a piggy, and other d\erps were in it as well.
If you are jealous of my sweet direction giving skills I can understand that.

Is defense even worth it? Say you take a keep, or garrison, or even stone mist and hold it. You have to hold a camp and protect dolyaks to get upgrades. While you are holding your objective, the rest of the map gets taken. Say you hold it for 2 days and feel great you have your keep. What did you accomplish? How much karma, silver, loot did you gain?
Now, if you take something, leave it and move on to the next target, and keep moving, not defending anything, you will have continuous karma, silver, loot coming in and none lost from siege weapons, upgrades, etc. Enemy takes it after you leave, and then you come around and get it again for more karma, silver, loot, etc.
I guess it comes down to why you play the game. If you want karma, silver and loot why are you not down in Orr instead of WvW?
Have to agree.. if you’re profiting immensely in WvW you’re doing it wrong. XD
..siege, repairs and upgrades get pricey. Event completions are great for levels but the fun in WvW involves actual /human beings/ as opponents instead of AI.
Outnumbered and trainrolled as Dragonbrand and Maguuma invaders may be at times, you still inspire fear in my bones and I run a’flailing and squealing/protesting (in TS3).. to the point where I know better to turn around and accept my fate. (..and /kneel if I have HP long enough.)
I’d always rather run into you guys out there than greet an empty, tumbleweed filled tower or keep.
TC, you might be surprised at how friendly we get once you show up to a few fight clubs.

One night this weekend one of yours showed up near Aldon’s as a yak carrying fireworks. Hilarity ensued. He was later slaughtered but not until after he’d been appreciated by a good number of TC folk.
Every server has their bad apples and their superstars. I’ve been a part of some amazing fights this matchup. Thanks to both servers for that!
Per a mod’s recommendation to open a support ticket, I went to the Support site and have attempted to both ‘Ask A Question’ and completed the form, as well as tried creating a Support Account.. both however do not load. Or fail to submit the information from the page.
I have tried both of these methods in both Google Chrome as well as Internet Explorer.
More exciting yet, we have a variety of Public channels to offer on our new TS3 server where allies and member friends can join us in game for events, or simply for socializing!

Hi team – we’ve anticipated the release of these missions with major excitement and spent a large chunk of our stocked 600k influence on researching the Guild Bounty. We also spent considerable influence to speed the research, and upon activating the Guild Mission.. the game crashes.
This occurs any time someone clicks on the ‘Missions’ from the left hand navigation panel in the Guild pane. So far I’ve attempted 3 different occasions and have submitted error reports with them. It happens regardless of player, rank, you name it.
Please help. We’ve burned 2/3s of our guild influence only to fail the mission as we cannot read the clues (since it crashes the game) and will be unable to meet the 15 minute timer..
Edit: 365,040 influence spent. (tried a second bounty for 3k influence)
2x Edit: Even keeping missions panel open and someone ELSE activating crashes the game.

I understand you guys try to be silly or whatever but it paints your server as not being serious about wvw.
I think we’re ok with that. It’s kind of fun that a silly RP server made it to Tier 2 and is still managing to hold its own. It’s a source of pride for us to be honest .. that we can have fun and still be competitive and respectful to our opponents.
I’ve never been able to blink through a gate on my Mesmer – then again, I haven’t ever tried. Heck, not with blink sometimes failing to work for me in open plains, but would be willing to bet (unless this is a terrain issue) that it’s a sneaky ninja mesmer hiding, waiting, and portal dropping in cooperation with other mesmers to bypass the 20 person limit.
Kudos to you guys who set up this parade, I enjoyed myself.

To the BG Invader (Rudolph the Reindeer?) I am SO SORRY I whipped you! I am fail at auto-attack after breaking a Ram tonic. Disappointment at using 20 tonics and not finding a yak is no excuse. XD
