Apparently there were these Dragons? I dunno but someone told me they were taking over the world…. probably just a rumour :P
I understand that, but I dont think there is a need to remove content, give us a choice of things to do.
Did they really need to remove anything?
As I said Im worried it will set a precedent of removing old to make new, instead of expanding out world and options.
Confused as to why the Devs felt 2 paths of explore were fitting with the LS but last one wasnt?
Ok great let the living story change the world, but dont take away content from us. Doesnt seem the right way to go about change.
I praise ANETs idea and goal of a living world but please go about it in a way that will expand our world not manipulate it.
PS: the whole oh we could blow up a dungeon and replace it worries me.. I hope you dont decide to go down that path! Blow up some random PVE town or something and replace it with a dungeon but please not our limited set of dungeons to make room for one more
Having said that, the new path looks lovely looking forward to it
I too am sad they have had to remove content in order to give us something fresh and exciting
Someone else has started another post too on the same topic.

So funny, I was very disappointed they felt they had to remove content in order to add in a new path. I logged in this morning to express my disappoint at this too. I hope this doesnt set a precedent for future additions.
Cant see why if there is a new lobby where you can choose to go old TA or new TA that they couldnt have left F/U where it was?
Having said that, im sure the new path will be good but I am disappointed we have lossed something in order to gain. Just my 2p worth
Pwr is instant damage, CDmg is DoT therefore you sacrifice being able to do damage fast for MORE damage/utility over time, else whats the point?
I totally agree with most of you guys. CDmg should be produce more damage in longer fights or at least let our CC work on bosses for more than half a second…
IF we could condition bosses with said CC we would be worth our weight in gold.
Sadly as soon as we Weaken or Blind etc most bosses wipe there faces clean of them
But you dont see bosses debuffing boons so at least were on par with our boon buff counterparts!
Its a good comparison Anchoku , never thought of it but makes my Condi feel even more neglected
Have to agree with Anchoku on this one.
Keeping us at 80 would be fine by me, however opening up pve zones with mobs that go higher would be fun and challenging.
I agree with both points of view here, whilst I like most of what we get early on it was temp content that went, and alot of the content has been functionality updates which are BRILLIANT for the most part (love the whole wallet idea) but as a veteran player of the game I find that there isnt much going on to keep me coming back. Theres only so much of the same PVE I can do when I dont have a goal for doing it now (kitted out main, and 4 alts) Keep up the good work ANET but please give us PVE’ers something to aspire to
I have Moltern on my Necro too wish I had waited new :*(
hmm might mean i need to mess with my build to achieve that hmmmm
But how does the loss of the 30% bleed duration work out for you? Assuming you have previously been specced that way?
If you go for perplexity you loose bleed duration (if you use afflicted and krait like i do) how does this balance out for you? How many bleeds do you stack now compared to previous?
How do you guys get your might stacks high enough? Party with staff guardian?
How do you feel it compares to having 30% more duration for bleeds?
How much of a stack do you get your confusion?
Does it compensate for the lack of bleeds? and do you use this in PVE or WVW?
Hey guys, Im currently looking to mix up my condi build. So been looking around….
For a conditionmancer, with warhorn in PVE would the confusion gained from 6x Superior Rune of Perplexity be worth loosing the 30% bleed duration from 3x Afflicted and 3x of the Krait?
Any one tried this? How do people feel this performed for them? For WvW maybe its more useful hmm.
Yeah like I say shes completely new to MMORPG (or gaming at all really!) so I thought PVT mixed with zerker for extra damage would be good.
Thanks for build ideas guys.
At the moment, she likes the spirits, so ive put 30 in to health so she can have spirits that move, and she uses ultimate with the chilling and protection spirit, with signet for speed as she said she moves too slow! But I see you suggest 30 in toughness? (Sorry I dont know the names of the trait lines)
For armour I was going to suggest PVT? Maybe mix it up with zerker?
She uses Longbow as its easy to use and keeps her out the way.
Thanks Fomby thats basically what i needed.
Many thanks
Ive suffered from the “oh your condi, bye” <kick> situation before, though me and guild mates do a great job of getting through all content in good time.
The point of this post was to understand the arguments for why its bad (or good) compared to other play styles.
Hows Plague Signet working now? Any one know how often it pulls conditions from allies? I have used it before and it didnt seem to work to well?
Hi all,
1st time poster on Ranger forum ( I play a Necro )
My girlfriend is first time MMO player and has chosen Ranger. I havent ever played a ranger so can anyone recommend a build/equipment/stats/weapon/etc choices for general PVE/Easy dungeons/taking part in live story events?
Need something low skill as she has never played a MMO before!
Thanks guys n gals!
@Phenn, I have had similar experience, but being condi this doesnt help too much other than help keep me alive in sticky situations! For pwr maybe this works better?
@Spoj, true I just wish its usefulness was more widespread than the odd mob here
Its a shame I think that daze is useless against so many mobs, not just bosses, but most champs too im sure. Feel in PVE it just lacks something. Hoping it will change in the future so it can be used more widely well, not just as a DPS boost for dagger.
Interesting idea Anchoku.
Great argument for Condi build Nemesis.
For support I use Well of Darkness or Plague Signet. However I often see even with Plague Signet up my allies still hold on to conditions. Not sure if I misunderstand how it works or simply if its not working properly

@Nay Yes I suggested earlier I too use it to help proc sigils, forgot to mention the life siphon too
I too bust open #5 then, DS #5 #4 and watch the numbers fly!
The LF is actually quite good in groups real boost to up time in DS
That maybe true, but what the OP was asking is comparable to dagger in offhand. Having a use for 1 boss fight doesnt really cut it in my books.
Slightly off topic there, but I do feel the AOE blinds, condition removal is quite useful.
Back to topic though, its the damage part which is what im interested in this post
(We could talk at length about the utility side of necro )
Other than a bad way to travel across the map (!) and good damage bonus to Dagger main hand, do we feel thats it for the warhorn use in PVE?
Back to topic though, I have had great success in Dungeons and Fractals doing AOE damage, ok the damage is less than say Zerker theif of warrior for single target such as bosses but isnt AOE an important part of any group make up?
Nemesis demonstrates good theory on the damage numbers a condi necro can put out. Do others feel in terms of what the necro can bring to a party is on par with the popular Zerker builds?
True, though I prefer the constant 25% boost over the short term 33% for general PVE travel. Plus means one less skill to worry about using ^^
For farming/ champs/ gathering
@KnbBlackTemplar. Grats! I have Scepter and Warhorn hence my interest in finding how to get the most out of it.
@Bweaty, well you say that, I have been using my WH for such situations but because it hits random mobs, including non aggressive ones, you get locked in combat ALOT and suffer from the speed loss for being in combat too!
So doesnt work well for general travel, instead I make sure I have Signet on
@flow, yes i had considered the Perplexity but means gimping the bleeds heavily.
Plus for PVE does confusions even work well? Thats my concern.
The extra DPS for W/H offhand does seem viable use for it with dagger.
Agree, and kind of confirms my fear. Shame there is no real viable alternative to dagger O/H with Scepter. IMO
Of course, I totally agree with that KnbBlackTemplar.
However not all content is about taking that 1 boss down.
Im not trying to say either pwr or condi is greater but instead understand why condi has a bad rep in PVE.
Nice thoughts Bweaty.

Again spoj thanks for your replies.
As I thought then really the usefulness is really with the dagger.
I am surprised by the amount of DPS each tick can kick out does make me consider using it for my power build.
I am trying to find a reason to use it with Condi, but as I suspected doesnt really meet the mark when compared to dagger O/H
Yeah I have had similar thoughts and pretty much to where I got with it.
Hopefully we will see some love come the way of Condi to bring it in to a position where its more on par with zerker builds as it saddens me that so many of the best builds are revolving around zerker style builds.
These are all good points spoj, and I agree with them. Do you feel the damage of say your DG/WH is alot more, hence making the condi build less optimal?
With Epidemic do you feel the AOE potential though is much greater for Condi?
Its interesting that many feel Condi for PVE isnt pulling its weight, yet ANET havent done anything to help balance this out? Should all us Necros be power Necros then :O

Ive read alot of talk of Condi build Necro being bad for PVE?
Some people have very strong opinions of this.
Im a full Condi Necro but a pretty open minded player.
Would anyone like to outline the reasoning behind why Condi is so bad for PVE?
Ok you dont burst, or damage objects (as i call them, those things which cant have conditions on them) but would love to see the arguments for why it sucks in PVE?
Would like to have constructive discussion

So ive been Scepter/Dagger since time began, and fancied a change.
Now i’ve been really struggling to see how in PVE at least, Warhorn can even come close to being as useful for a Necro outside of maybe Dagger/Warhorn.
The Daze with #4 is ok for a brief lock down of trash.
The #5 can proc additional bleeds with crits, as well as perma snare at close range and a tickle of normal damage. Rarely get to use the speed buff as it gets you locked in combat so easily.
But all in all pales in comparison against the other options.
What’s everyone else think on PVE warhorn, can we make it work? Or are we thinking its only real use is in a PVP situation?
Over the last few weeks my main chara has been having issues getting stuck in loading screens. Its been getting worse and the ingame lag continues to rise with it.
My other charas have some of this issue, but not to the same extent.
Internet seems to be fine, and no changed to my hardware.
Anyone else had this issue? Seen it reported alot but havent found any answers as to why its occuring so badly or how to fix it.
Ive cleared my local game log, updated graphics card drivers, rebooted router/Internet, and used -repair on the .exe.
Edit: Didnt hit refresh to see the above before posting! But it really is an issue when deciding.
Good fixes so far ANet
Just one thing, which is putting me off transmuting, other than the retaining its status…
When/If the uplift comes for Legendary weapons to become a tier above the rest, how will this work with ones which have had their stats transmuted in order to be effective with different builds?
Will the item be bumped up to match what it now should be? Or will it simply retain the Exotic level stats I am considering transmuting now :S
