I was wondering if this path might be bugged? We were doing the part where you “push back the flame legion forces” and after killing the Siege Commander that sphere barrier on the bridge nearby wasn’t removed and there was no cutscene. We looked around and killed some Ooze bosses that we missed before and thoroughly searched the dungeon for some clue on how to continue with no avail. If it’s bugged there is no point in trying it again so that’s why I ask. Thank you.

Toxic attitude? Go PvE with wrong gear

So, here is my story as a sPVP scrub. Sturctured PVP was one of the reasons I bought this game, but since I like PVE more, because of the time constraints I had to decide were would I spend most of my playing time and Pve was that choice.

Now since new rewards are enticing, I decided to play sPVP more and was happy to see it’s got some pve rewards tied to it. I’m rank 16 and I did play some team ranked matches with fellow newbs before I completely stopped playing sPVP. In any case, sPVP to me is more appealing than WvW when it comes down to player versus player gameplay in GW2. I’ve played my share of hotjoin and decided to check this Solo ranked mode looking for more structured and more exciting gameplay. I’ve picked a bunker build (Voz’s Immortal TPvP Engineer Bunker Build) and at least it helps me stay alive longer.

Now, the game usually pairs me up with scrubs like myself, but sometimes when I see dragon finishers, I don’t know if I should laugh or cry (lol). One thing I want to say is, you can playhotjoin forever and you will not learn what a “bunker” is, what means “go close” and similar things. Ofcourse you should read some guides so you don’t ruin matches for people that are already good at sPVP, but nothing really can prepare you like the real experience of playing real matches. So, recently I played a solo rank match on a map “Battle of Khylo” and went to cap close thinking about going mid to help out next. I go to mid and enemy trebuchet is raining fire from above, so I decide to try to at least hamper the player bombing us. I get near the trebuchet and enemy player isn’t there so I decide to take down the trebuchet – since my build isn’t very much damaging it would take me forever to take it down, so I go back to check mid or close to help out. Anyway, when I get to home, fellow warrior is fighting a a pesky mesmer that, I think, killed me before. I think to myself, cool, warrior and me can take him down. I notice that the warrior is for some reason just standing on cap point and not fighting the mesmer so I conclude, maybe he’s just trying to defend a point and is not really interested in killing this mesmer. Then, all of a sudden he goes away from home to mid (I think), and leaves me with this pesky mesmer. Of course, this mesmer then proceedes to destroy me, and when I’m waiting to respawn I notice some lines in chat: “Great, engi loses home again”, “You want this?” (from a warr that was on home when I got there – that’s why he left lol), “I don’t understand how you can’t cap when I’m fighting 2-3 solo” – some other player… I say to all of this “sorry”, and I apologize again for kittening of those two players.

My point is, playing hotjoin you get some nasty habits and you really need the practice of real matches to learn stuff. I ask of the more experienced spvp players to have some patience with all of us scrubs, because there is no way we can start playing solo ranked and be great teammates from the start. (sorry for grammar errors, english is not my native language)

Hover your mouse cursor over that link (don’t click it!). You will probably see some dodgy site link. There is a helpful thread if you go to support section about phishing – it’s probably phishing attempt.

Liadri: Protips for Engineer

If you have problems with “aoe” in second phase, when you see one fall you should be near it and as soon as it disappears continue running to the next one. This way you don’t even have to watch for those hard to see reddish circles on the ground, you can look up and see where the next one falls. Position yourself about halfway from the center to the edge of the dome or somewhat closer to the edge.

Basically, keep your running rhythm and you won’t have to dodge much, and don’t forget to spam bombs/grenades. Check out “liadri slayer club” thread for more tips…

I want to thank them for all the lootz if you don’t mind me barging in your thread. I always felt that the loot is kinda lackluster in this game. I am not talking about gold, it’s more about tier 6 mats and stuff like that. Not that I enjoy farming, but it’s nice to see that regular folk can start working on legendary weapons…

Some say that the reason for all this better loot is upcoming crafting change, but it’s nice to have some decent drop whatever their reasoning is… And yeah, all in all, decent event. I came back in the game after a break at the start of Bazaar and have enjoyed these last two chunks of content.

New dungeon is great

Cool instance. It has the mechanics i like to see in a game like this – you as a player have some breathing room to figure out what you need to do, boss doesn’t have huge amount of health and one-shot mechanics. Reminds me somewhat of story paths from SE and i think it was the COF dungeons (end bosses).

For an interesting dungeon/instance/boss I like to see some sort of a puzzle – where you need to figure out what you need to do in order to take a boss down – “cannonballs are my only weakness”, lol. Of course, stuff like this can have different degrees of challenge – i don’t like it when it’s super easy or super difficult, something in the middle is what the developers should aim for…

Strugar & Chomper as Engineer: Need Help!

Heya, I can’t give you any pro-tips, but maybe try with some flamethrower build. Blind and interrupt from it are pretty useful. Deny meat and when you see he is somewhat closer to it than you just push him away with skill “3” – air blast, and if Strugar is on your back, smoke vent helps. I’ve changed builds while doing gauntlet so many times that I can’t give you any more specifics, sorry. Elixir B is also very useful, it’s on my skill bar always.

Liadri Slayer Club

Well, after about a 100-200 attempts (slow learner I guess) Liadri is off my list.
It’s really weird because at the start of this year I stopped doing challenging content and went full casual.

Dungeons got tiresome for me, fractals I enjoyed but got so many dc’s so i stopped doing them… Went on to level alts and do whatever casuals usually do.
When Queen’s Jubilee started I focused on achievements that were easy to get and thought: “i’ll try Queen’s gauntlet just to see how far I can get, then move on to something else”.

But, somehow in the process, I got “obsessed” with beating Liadri.
It was soul crushing (for me), but i just couldn’t let it go.. Not a “very good player” – we’ll see about that Anet!!

When i look at it now, it took me so many tries because I was overwhelmed with everything that is trying to kill you in phase 2.
Got in the “zone” and saw it could be done, only cost was my sanity (not that I’m sane to begin with :P). But, the positive outcome of all this madness was that i got to know my profession better!

Build is basically what I call a “headless chicken” – engi bomb build – running from aoe to aoe and droping bombs.

Power/vitality/condition damage armor, superior runes of the adventurer, rabid back piece, “call of the wild” amulet, berserker and cleric rings, karka and cleric earrings.

10/30/0/20/10 – [III / II, IV, XII / I, IX / VI]

berserker pistol with superior sigil of force and berserker shield with superior sigil of energy
elixir H, bomb kit, tool kit, elixir B, supply crate

quality tunig crystal, super veggie pizza

Now I need to find someone to slap me the next time i get the idea to do hardcore content.

Cursed Shores is back.

Well, since the zones in GW2 are not instances like in the first game it’s very difficult to make a balance in regards to loot. If you make it that the mobs (champs, veterans, regular mobs) drop good loot, people will flock to them and make problems with zergs/farming trains (things die to quickly for example). And if the loot is not good, you can see no one touches champs for months. I am not sure why is Cursed Shore so popular. Orr has two other zones and I haven’t seen farming trains in those. Would be cool if people spread out some more…
