Right now it’s too easy to take keeps (whatever tier they are), you bash a door down and thats it. Defenders on the wall have little or no defence or ability to repel. Even if the limited defences are built (say the oil or cannons) its too lethal to stand in once place thats in the range of any attackers aoe.
So some suggestions:
- Bonus to attack and defence if you’re on the wall…you should have a far easier job than the guys below.
- Every keep should start with a decent set of siege weapons in place, what’s the point of it otherwise?
- Make them regen supply naturally so you can repair, then turn the upgrades in ‘x dollys need to arrive’ to give a reason to properly defend dolly’s.
- Fix the model/camera or whatever, so that you can stand on the wall and attack and not the battlements.
- Waypoints based on population, if the map as a low pop then allow the waypointing between keeps.
Basically I think 5-10 organised defenders should have a reasonable chance to hold off a small/mid zerg, and that a big zerg has to split its forces if it wants to attack the keep and win.
i.e. it should be a real kitten to take a defended keep, it should feel like an effort, not just a quick 2mins to jimmy the lock and waltz in
I think the map should indicate places where you can travel to another map. Either the waypoint icon is slightly different, or another icon entirely.
I mention it because I’ve just been trying to work out how you get from the 2 lower level ascalon areas to the higher ones! This isn’t something I remember from previous chars, and it just shouldn’t be that confusing!
Not sure if I’d ever be able to complete them, but I don’t see why PvE and PvP gets recognition but WvW doesn’t?
It’s PvE live with it, you were standing in the middle of nowhere basically abusing the reaction area of a mob. Ok the people doing it were kitten too, but if you’d just gone to any camp or waypoint you’d have been fine.
Nope, the only reason I play this is because of its lack of subscription. I’ve always been intrigued by MMORPG games, but can’t justify spending on something I might not play for a few months. At the moment I’m playing most days, but when SimCity comes out or BF3 EndGame I’ll likely stop for a few weeks. Buying one-off is perfect for me.
I would say I would be happy paying for large expansions though.
If you choose the large UI, some of the characters in the text aren’t displayed properly.
Ampersand (&) is typically a capital E with a line on top (apologies don’t know the proper description!)
I think the story missions could do with indicating what level of character they are aimed at.
I know the game automatically reduces your level, but it doesn’t remove kit, or account for your individual experience.
Going through some of the Norn missions is a bit too easy, but I think it’s more cause I’m 5-8 levels higher than they were built for.
